Posts: 2,305 Group: S Rank Hero Member #12,433 Joined: October 2, 2011 Gender: Male	I had a little idea where the forum held award ceremonies for people on the forum a build a small team or committee to supervise the award ceremonies. The list could be devised by the team who oversee the festivities and the general public could make nominations of who they see fit to fill the category. After the nominations have been collected, then we vote and the nominee with the most votes wins that category. Sample Categories: Most Comedic Member Best Roleplaying Member Most Positive Member Just for starters, I could list plenty. As well as having separate categories for staff members. Awards could be signatures created by a member of the forum or as simple as having them added to the Member's list of Emblems underneath their name. I figured this would be a good way to promote moral standings on the forums and give people something to shoot for, bringing out the best in everybody. Plus I'd think it'd be an interesting addition. I think it'd be a good idea with enough positive feedback and a good team to back it up. I'd say yearly awards would be too scarce and monthly awards would be awful tedious so I'd think seasonal awards would be more fitting. Such as every change of the season starts the next awards nominations and etc. The thoughts are kind of scatterbrained but I could of made it a lot more elaborate. This is just a basic idea but if you'd like any other information I'd be happy to fill in. Anybody want to add anything to this? I'd love to have some feedback.

I personally don't see why we can't do it, however I believe the event should be held annually instead of seasonally, as I think the recipients of the awards would be unlikely to change within a few months. ;P I'd say it's a fun idea, however it will take time to organise- so as you say, we'll need a team of dedicated members who would be willing to do so.

It seemed like seasonal awards carried more hope was all, lol. But yes, an extremely dedicated team. At least so it doesn't add an extra toll to the staff members who could also help with the organization. Then make a "committee" group area where they can discuss everything.

Then Tails Fanatic, another member tried to run his own way of SB awards, to some degree never really worked out as it were intentionally in his way. Nevertheless, I believe the awards could suffice once more. In fact, why not be in charge of the awards, Stark. I would probably ask maybe one of the moderators for assistance as well, in case some things need moderating, but I think anyone's fit for this task.

Considering how less active Neo is, due to having no computer, probably being forced to his PS3, at least from what I've seen him mentioned. Though I do think we can make this work. We've done this before but I'm not sure how. I think a committee group would work, being led by one mod/admin or something. If people really wanna do this, why not?

I still can't use this. Posts: 6,546 Group: Former Monarchs Member #6,722 Joined: March 16, 2008	If we're going to do this, then we're going to have to figure out a voting system which isn't simply winner-take-all because that only leads to fewer members getting recognition. Something that requires a high-number of voting options- perhaps a minimum of five or even ten members to be listed- for a vote to count, or something with brackets, or maybe a combination of the two, will be much more inclusive and thought-provoking than simply repping the popular folks who advertise their candidacies. This, in turn, will be a ton of work, and thus is something that should be done annually if we're going to do it again. I remember the crap I went through on my Sonic Song topic by opening up the floor to such a huge library of music, keeping tabs on votes, making sure proper votes were submitted, continuously following-up on people who didn't vote properly, allotting the appropriate points to each song. And this contest is going to deal with multiple categories. Even if we're going to have a committee running it, I predict the logistics are going to get daunting quick.

Bracketing all the nominations would be far more tedious as well, but would result in more along the lines of being fair. But everyone who's posted would be fair to join the committee unless there's some kind of general rule for being on it that's established.
