Okay, so here's what I'm going through. Anxiety and Nervousness. Now, I've sang in front of many people before, but not exactly for anyone. Just for myself. This band is asking if I can sing for them. Their lead singer says he isn't as good, but maybe I could be if I tried out. The guy that wanted me to [he's a friend of mine] said he'll send me some recordings to try out with as in vocal covers. That's easy since I can do it, but I'm nervous for the results if I'm good or not so it's hard to me to sing while thinking about it. Also, if I do make it and when we play on stage, I know I'll be nervous because I'm actually performing with someone and for someone. Bottom line is, WHAT CAN I DO THAT CAN HELP COPE WITH ANXIETY AND NERVOUSNESS? |

How to cope with anxiety and nervousness, hmm? Well for one, you just have to face your fear. If you really want to do this, and you like doing it, think of the results. What will happen if you do it? Will it make you feel better and happy? Will it make others feel better and happy? The band has asked you for a reason, methinks, it's because you're good. They wouldn't ask you for help if they didn't think you were good. No need to worry about that, then! What also helps it to talk about it. If you really feel nervous, tell others. They will tell you that you'll do good which will make you feel better. "When you are anxious, a great way to get out of it is to find some faith. Believing that things will get better is sometimes all it takes to make it better. It also helps to never underestimate the power of positive prayer or visualization, if it can cure cancer it can also reduce your anxiety." |

You won't get much closer, 'till you sacrifice it all.

I can relate to your problem 'cause I've had to go up on stages several times before and sing solos. It was pretty stressful at first, but eventually I enjoyed it more so than dreaded it. You just need practice; first in front of a small group of people- your family, for example- and gradually increase the audience capacity until you're certain that you're confident enough to perform in front of lots of people. :3 If you've been asked to sing for someone, chances are that you're already better than you think! The final push is really just believing in yourself, and working hard. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do great~ c: |

Thanks, I feel kinda better now. c: I'm practicing my vocals now and stuff. I might actually do some vocal tracks of the songs I personally wrote. Just something to remind me of how the song goes. Might post it, I don't know. |

I used to be nervous like you. Then I took an arrow to the knee. Well, technically it wasn't an arrow, but it was a figurative arrow. Like, something just clicked in my brain and said "Hey. I don't care anymore." Which is my figurative arrow. To the knee. Now you are cured. You're welcome. |

Oh gosh, a Skyrim joke ;_; but I see what you mean, kinda. Just really don't care about the situation and be yourself. Just don't care what others think of you and you'll get passed it. |
