"I will kill ALL of the Titans!"
On previous forums I've gone to, I hosted different fighting tournaments. I just made this story to portray my own tournament. My tournaments weren't as well thought out or balanced as the tournaments here but I made those topics three or four years ago regardless. XD

This story was originally hosted on my DeviantArt. I deicded to continue it here but I'm going to rewrite some parts and include more detail. The story eventually fell through but I hope I get to keep things moving this time.

Extreme Fighting Tournament X
Chapter 1: Introduction

Today was just an average day. That is, with the exception of Emerald City's jam-packed arena. Today marks the registration date for the 6th annual Extreme Fighting Tournament. Each year's fighters do nothing but get stronger. The opposition comes in from numerous lands with their eyes set on this year's $250,000 grand prize. Plus the chance to fight the champion for the belt and bragging rights in one final title fight. Big, tall, strong . . . not . . . you name it and the arena has it, fighters from all over are ready to give it their all in the arena. A cold wind might stir for a select few, as this year's competition could hold a tragic outcome. That's only for the unforgiving pavement of the ring to decide. . .
_________________________________

"Oh yeah! Well, when I take that title belt off of yours and spank you with it, don't go cryin' home to mama!" This was Alec. Full name, Aqua "Alec" Anos. He was an aqua colored hedgehog that had a combo white shirt and shoes with dark blue pants on. He had an aqua-colored vest overtop with gloves of the same color. Aqua had one long quill running down the length of his back as well. The name Aqua derives from his unique hydrokinesis abilities. However, after taking a devastating strike from a thunderstorm, Alec’s body conducted the electricity and his body held the electrical charges. "Alec" comes from "Elec" in where he replaced the 'E' with an 'A'. All his friends could do was reply with a disgruntled sigh. He was 21 years old, but he basically invented the phrase, "Acting half your age."

"The only thing you should be taking off is your diaper. . ." Alec's combatant in this argument was Alpha Akechi, the current champion of the EFT circuit but known for his uncomfortable attitude. He had a good number of years on Alec being at the age 26. The two have been "friends" for years through Rad, who left three years ago to pursue his own personal motives. Alpha had gray fur, feral-like yellow eyes and one long bang arching from his forehead, similar to a samurai ponytail. The champion's attire included an unzipped black jacket with no shirt, black pants, and shoes. His gloves were black as well, but with armor plates attached on the top and a gray base. Alpha's specialty was ninjutsu, putting his knowledge of the latter in front of everyone and everything.

"Now step out of line, others have to register as well," ended Alpha, shooing Alec away. The angered aquatic master scoffed and walked away to join another group of fighters. One face after another laid the pen down on the list for their chance at fame and fortune. Some people tended to be rather nostalgic faces, good and bad.

"Well, if it isn't Kronic? Haven't seen your ugly mug in years. I hope you don't expect to see Nebula, I wiped him from existence during your absence. . ." said Alpha. Nebula was a past friend of Rad's as well until Nebula found himself disgusted with humans, wanting to purge the planet of them. Nebula was another darkness user who could generate his own dimension. Kronic found no need to waste his time with Rad's friends while he was gone but Nebula's hap-hazardous intentions cost him his life.

Kronic had been a long time enemy of Rad and despite his crimes, this dark hedgehog had no problems showing his face in public. He had jet black fur going along with his black pants and shoes. On his hands were tattered grey bandages. His right arm had a sinister gold gauntlet that housed his dark Chaos Diamond of Corrupt, which helped supercharge his frighteningly dark energy. His eyes have also been completely faded out and his quills stand straight up. He snatched the pen from the desk and wrote his information while speaking, "I only have one purpose here and you know what that is. . ."

"And what is that, suckin' some nuts?" spoke the arrogant Jin Riardos, Rad Riardos' younger brother at the age of 22. Jin had black fur with scruffy, hair-like bangs protruding from his forehead. The younger brother had ten medium-sized but lightweight quills that flowed almost like hair. His clothes were similar to Kronic's, black pants and shoes with no shirt. But Jin wore black fingerless gloves and a dark red scarf around his neck. This scarf was a memoir of Rad and Jin's father who Kronic had slain back during the brothers' childhood. Jin had various energy based attacks, along with his partner Akarui. Akarui is a spirit of pure light who can transform into virtually anything who the younger brother utilized to turn into weapons or anything that would help him in battle. Jin was most likely the most arrogant person anyone could meet, but he had the strength to back up his words.

"I'll be sure to shove that cocky nature of yours down your throat if we ever meet in the ring. . ." spoke the heavy words of Kronic. This dark hedgehog didn't even need to turn his head to know who the annoying pest of a hedgehog was.

Jin smirked and crossed him arms. "What's stopping you now, tough guy?" he spoke, exuding boldness. Confident and arrogant, this hedgehog would be ready to battle Kronic right there if need be.

"No spectators to watch you suffer," Kronic spoke, in a cold tone before snapping his writing utensil and walking away.

"The nerve of that guy. I've never seen someone so arrogant," spoke Jin as he began to fill out the information. He shook his head as his quills flowed in the air, appearing to be hovering like magic.

Alpha had a worried look on his face, not expecting this to be coming from Jin. "Yo-you're kidding. . ." he said with his brow raised. Jin obviously has not spent five minutes with himself before. . .

"I know, right? Some people. . ." Seems that Jin was serious as he scoffed and walked away from the registration area.

Of all the faces Alpha has seen so far, the next one surprised him the most. . .

"Aria?" Alpha let out with a slight sense of shock in his voice. Alpha rarely expressed emotion so whenever he did, you could tell it was genuine. The champion was not expecting to see this person next.

Aria gave out a nervous wave as she signed herself up. "Some friends thought I should join, so I decided to give it a shot," she said in a sweet tone. Aria was a light brown retriever with long, flowing brown hair and bangs. She wore a black mid-cut shirt and a white jacket, gloves and skirt set along with a long pair of white and grey boots. No fighter should sleep on her, as she can summon giant steel gloves with great attack power. She was age 21 and had been a long time admirer of Rad. She was completely devastated the day Rad exiled himself from his friends and life without a single word to anyone.

"I see you're finally starting to perk up some. About time," Alpha bluntly shared. Her endless sulking due to Rad's departure annoyed him constantly and he made it plainly evident

"It's not like you're the best person to be with, sunshine," Aria retorted, with a diva headsnap. Alpha's cold nature always hammered away at her patience.

"Careful turning your head like that on a dime. It could kill you, y'know . . ." muttered the cold hedgehog, making it obvious that he wanted her to go away.

"The only thing killing me is your breath, yuck-mouth. When they say people stick their foot in their mouth, it's not literal. Hmph!" yelled out Aria as she folded her arms walked away. Alpha nervously sniffed his breath when Aria turned her back to him. A few onlookers snickered at him and the champion answered with an angry snarl. Rad was still a sensitive topic for the poor girl.

The sun finally set on registration day. This marked a 3-day period for officials to put everyone in the database before the tournament actually began. Fighters hastily threw in some last minute preparations after scoping out the competition. This year's tournament is going to be a good one. . .

End of Chapter One. . . . .

This first chapter was just to help introduce the main set of characters. A few more characters are still main, but they're best saved for later in the story. I know it wasn't much story-wise, but give me a few more chapters to include some action before giving me a 'yay' or 'nay' on pursuing the story. Whether anybody cares for the story or not, I just like putting my thoughts out there. -shrug-

But feedback is greatly appreciated.

I was amused by the dialogue. XD

I like it! It's good writing. Though I'm curious as to why Rad exiled himself.

And Nebula's gone? Wow. @ _ @

Yep. Decided to kill him off. :I

Storyline related, he was probably the weakest villain anyway.

But thanks for the feedback. :D Reasons come out in future chapters. Which I'm starting to edit.

I know guys. D: I've already switched two characters from hedgehogs to give the cast some diversity. I can't think of animal changes for everyone.

Chapter 2
Starting Day!

"Uh, we got a lil trouble at the front gate...."came in over a walkie-talkie of a security guard.

"I'm telling you! I'm on this list! rang from the lips of Ichida Muramino, tan hedgehog, age 23. His attire was made up of a red tank top with yellow trimming and baggy shorts of the same color scheme. It had multiple straps around the waistline and had a black and white checkered design running down the length of the legs. He wore red and white shoes that went with his hat and fingerless gloves.

"Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to step out of line," spoke a security guard holding an angry Ichida off with one hand.

"I'm gonna have to ask you not to touch the threads, Rent-A-Cop!" Ichida bellowed. The man tried to inform Ichida that he was supposed to sign up before the day of the tournament. Of course, Ichida knew he didn't sign up but he kept arguing to prevent himself from going home embarrassed. "Now let me in or else I'll... I'll...!" He inhaled sharply before looking up into the sky and releasing an ear-splitting sonic screech that split the clouds. Making it obvious that this hedgehog's attack was focused on sound.

The moment the yell echoed out, Alpha appeared within an instant. "What's going on here?" the champion muttered, already knowing who the cause of this uproar would be.

"This gentleman . . ." the front deskman started.

"This ******* won't let me in!" interrupted Ichida, slamming his palms down on the table.

"Well, did you show up for sign-up day?" Alpha asked, impatiently crossing his arms.

"Of course I did!" Of course he didn't.

"Really? Because I was there the whole time and didn't see you," said Alpha in a sarcastic tone. He proudly wearing his championship belt, a symbol of his strength to the other fighters.

"I came during your lunch break!" lied the desperate Ichida, maintaining a believable face however.

"There's no punishment more I'd like to see then you getting beaten to a helpless pulp in the arena. Let him through," finalized the Champion, turning around and walking away.

"Git cho' hand offa me!" yelled Ichida at a defeated security guard as he pulled his shoulder away from the guard's hand. He brushed himself off and proudly walked into the fighter's waiting area along with the other few hundred combatants. Ichida spent most of his time sleeping and overslept the registration times.

"Aqua Alec Anos, signing in."

"Aria LeMont, signing in."

"Jin Riardos, the next champ, signing in."

"Kronic, signing in."

"Is the gang all here?" Alec said. Of course this excluded Kronic, him being the enemy.

"Almost everyone," said another approaching voice, the voice of Oriord Hiziku. Oriord was a nimble raccoon with white and gray fur and green eyes. A guy normally focused on books and intelligence, he wore a green karate-style shirt with dark green symbols and a dragon across the shirt. He wore black pants and gloves along with black shoes with a green stripe on them.

"Whoa, Oriord? Where the heak have ya been, man? I thought you were the guy for book smarts and such. asked Alec, scratching his head.

"I took a break from life, ya know. I found a family of monks living up in the mountains. I stayed there for a few years and learned Wing Chun. I came here to test it out," said Oriord, as he took the basic stance for the fighting style known as Wing Chun, favored for it's offensive defensive combo attacks and chain punching technique.

Alec suddenly looked puzzled. "Dont'cha mean chicken wings?"

"My god Alec, find some help," Aria said as she played with her bangs. She finally found the group of friends who pressured her to join the tournament and quickly trotted over to them.

"Come on, Mr. Former Champ. Start this bad boy," Jin said, patting Alpha on the back. After an evil sounding grunt, Alpha swatted Jin's hand and entered the center of the area.

The crowd began to roar at the sight of their champion entering the center area. While Alpha wasn't the one for fandom, he took great pride when people acknowledged his skill. "I'm not going to make this last any longer than it has too, I know you're ready for the action to begin!" he spoke out as the crowd continued their cheers. "These are no-holds barred matches. Winner is granted by K.O or ring out! No one sees that final bracket without 3 preliminary wins. No eye-gouging and no firearms. A match will be interrupted for a combatant on the verge of death. Further rules were given for fighters. Preliminaries will take place in the four main arenas. When you hear your name, you are to promptly report to your arena. If your foot isn't on your designated arena within two minutes, you're disqualified. Let us begin!"

Already one of our fighters were taking a shot at the ring.

"Arena 2. Aria LeMont versus . . hm?" The announcer squinted at the paper and showed Alpha who joined him in the announcer's box. The two scanned the paper awkwardly and exchanged murmurs.

Alpha took the piece of paper, crinkling it slightly in frustration. "Aria LeMont versus Anonymous?"

A black cloaked figure with a hood on took to the ring opposing Aria. She had a blank look on her face but quickly threw up her guard. In a flash of light, she gained large steel gloves equipped with hydraulic . She had these forged by a friend nicknamed "Tech". They also had tiny blasters in them but they were permitted to her since they shot energy.

"How'd this guy get past the system? I don't remember seeing him," Alpha thought. He angrily gripped the microphone. It was almost like the champion was ready to step into the arena himself. "Fighter! You are to state your name or be disqualified!" shouted the angered champion.

Aria observed the fighter further.

Her opponent slowly removed his hood . . .

" . . . Riardos . . ."

To Be Continued . . .

_______________

Not a strong chapter but it built into the tournament. When I originally typed up the story, I wanted to make chapter two follow the characters a bit more but in turn jumped straight into the action of the tournament. Feedback is appreciated.

IS IT RAD?!

It seemed a bit quick to jump straight into the action. But, eh, I'm not complaining.

Chapter 3
Ominous Return...

"Rad Riardos..."

The stadium was filled with gasp and tears as the original champion made his return to the arena. Even the crowd was surprised to see a tournament legend return to the arena

However, his opponent's eyes filled with tears. "Ra-Raaa..." muttered Aria. Aria was the one who missed Rad the most, and seeing him now made her completely emotional. Long time friend and crush, Rad was back.

Aria's sadness was met with a cold, lifeless glare.

Rad Riardos is a hedgehog with red fur. His quills took an interesting shape. Two quills were hooked back and two more quills hooked forward in a curve. The former champion also had three bangs with an almost hair-like appearance, each one being longer than the next. His eyes are dark gray. He wore classic black fingerless gloves like his friends, and a black V-neck cut shirt. To match his black uniform, he dawned black jeans as well. His shoes were black with a white, geometric diamond design down the center. His cloak ran down the length of his legs including a hood with it. Around his neck stayed the same ominous diamond Rad never parted with. It was wrapped around his neck with a glowing white rope made of energy, fashioned by the Diamond itself.

"Ra... Rad..." muttered Aria from behind her tears.

Rad let out a cold, "Hm...?"

Aria's metallic battle gloves faded away as she wiped her eyes. She was in so much shock, she could barely get her words out. "Ra....Rad...."

Rad huffed, showing impatience and attitude. "We've established what my name is..."

More sobs erupted from Aria. She wasn't expecting him to retort her in such a nonchalant fashion. "I-is that all you have to say?!" she started. "First you disappear for more than 2 years, you don't bother coming back to apologize or check in on your friends! You don't know how we are or what could've happened! You don't even know th-"

Rad warped across the arena in less than an instant. Down on one knee, foot planted in front of him, and his head past her arm. He placed his hand on Aria's stomach. She was so startled that it cut her off and nearly took the wind out of her. "...You're annoying me..." he coldly muttered, giving her a forceful shove. The attack echoed through the arena like a gunshot as Aria went skipping across the grounds like an animated ragdoll. Leaving a dust trail behind, she skipped across the ground and out the arena.

"...Rad Riardos is the winner," muttered Alpha, appalled by what he just saw. The crowd didn't know what to think of the situation. Some cheered for the returning warrior, but some remained confused.

Aria picked herself off the ground as Rad walked out of the arena. Alpha suddenly appeared behind the Rad, leaving the two standing back-to-back. Tension began to mount. Rad stood still for all of two seconds, before starting to walk off again. Alpha warped in front of him, snatching his shirt. Rad slowly grabbed Alpha's arm and began to effortlessly push against Alpha's force off of him. "Using words would be a much smarter move on your part," spoke Rad, not fazed in the least.

"Don't you think it's about time you addressed your friends?" returned Alpha, sharply staring into Rad.

Rad crossed his arms, barely amused. "Humor me..." he said, warping off with Alpha as the next set of preliminaries began.

Jin, Alec, Aria, Oriord, and Ichida were all sitting at a table around the concession area when the current champion and former champion warped in. There was a silence between the group as fighting rang through the arena. Aria just looked away.

"...Why? started Jin in a low tone.

"...A problem I can handle myself,"barked Rad to his younger brother.

"No. Friends handle things together," said Alec. Alec and Rad have been closer to each other than anyone else.

"A true friend wouldn't put his other friends at risk. This is on a whole different level than normal," explained Rad, attempting to justify himself.

"How bad we talkin...?" responded Jin, easing up suddenly. Jin was aware that threats come and go often.

"...Our Grandfather," Rad said. Jin had a worried look on his face. The others had no clue how to gauge the answer but Jin knew exactly how bad this threat was.

"AQUA 'ALEC' ANOS TO ARENA 3"

Alec looked back to Rad. "I'll wait," said Rad, motioning for Alec to go complete. Alec nodded as he ran off to his arena. However, Jin couldn't wait for his match to be over. He HAD to know more.

"I know it's not just them," stated Jin.

"The Syndicate is here at the tournament, which is why I returned. These guys are in another league. These guys are completely ruthless. I doubt you guys can even handle the small fry..." said Rad, grimly. But who was this Syndicate that the former champion was talking about?

"I better get back to the box. Fill me in later..." Alpha said, disappearing.

As silence returned to the group, Aria spoke out. "Alec and I took care of the house..." she muttered.

"Mmm..." Rad groaned, uninterested.

"Seen Kronic yet?" she asked, tearing up again. "I don't think you want to..." She got up and walked off, still in tears.

Rad raised an eyebrow. "...And why is that?"

"JIN RIARDOS TO ARENA 1"

Jin walked up to Rad and placed his hand on his shoulder. "Ya know, I wanted to see my bro come back.." the younger brother started. Rad looked over at him and raised his eyebrow, not knowing what he was getting at.

"Looks like he's still missing," muttered Jin, lowering his hand from his younger brother and walking off to his match.

Oriord just shrugged. "I don't think you're outta the water with the gang just yet," he said, walking off as well.

As the rest of the group departed,Rad folded his arms once again. He was still slightly interested in what kept Aria in tears in relation to Kronic. He'd just have to let time unfold...

-----------------------------

Preliminary Track Record:
Rad Riardos: 1-0
Aqua "Alec" Anos: 1-0
Jin Riardos: 2-0
Oriord Hiziku: 1-0
Ichida Muramino: 1-0
Aria LeMont: 0-1 - Eliminated
Kronic: 1-0

To be continued...
Chapter 4
How Much They've Grown. Part 1.
Being that so many years past, Rad wasn't the only one who underwent training. His friends all trained hard to improve their skills and it was time to put their training to the test. With Rad on the sidelines, he waited for his next preliminary match as he watched the results of the others training.

First up, the returning warrior's own brother.

"JIN RIARDOS, TO ARENA 4"

"Time for my final prelim match. Main tourney, here I come," he said confidently, sitting next to the still downtrodden Aria. With what happened, all of her emotions were undergoing a dance of confusion.

Aria looked over at him with a gentle smile, attempting to lift her own spirits. "Good luck, I know you'll win," she said, softly.

Jin stood high and mighty. "EVERYONE knows I'll win!" he exclaimed, with a confident smile. He leapt high into the air, his scarf fluttering through the atmosphere. In a dramatic fashion, he touched down in his arena as light as a footstep. His opponent was a dark blue chameleon with a large white horn that shined brightly. The horn looked sharp and threatening so Jin would have to put forth extra effort to avoid it.

The chameleon's named was Hanbou. (Han-boo. 1st part pronounced "Ha!" as if laughing. HAn-boo.) He wore a long black trench coat that he untied to reveal several large tails. They all lavished into the air gracefully, yet, menacingly.

Jin stared at the numerous tails as the bell for the fight to begin rang. "...Ew," said the disgusted Jin.

Hanbou grew angry, being sensitive of his tails for whatever reason. A tick mark appeared on his head. "How DARE you insult me!" she shouted, rushing for Jin. But one would have to admit, the way his tails flurried about was somewhat disturbing.

Jin smirked, bracing himself. "Time for another win. Ready, Akarui?" Jin reached his hand back for an empty white sheath on his back. A light shot out from the sheath and began to speak a female voice.

"Ready!" said the voice of Akarui.

Jin grasped the light. "Crossbow!" he shouted. The light began shifting into the form of a glowing crossbow. Akarui's power allowed it to morph into whatever Jin's command was. However, it always glows bright yellow. Her main form was the shape of a female hedgehog, glowing the same bright yellow as the weapons she forms. The spirit wasn't actually a hedgehog, but it's main form adapts to it's user.

Jin grabbed the string and pulled back. Letting it go shot out a beam of light that impacted again Hanbou. The multi-tailed chameleon had a confused look on his face. Jin readied and fired a 2nd shot that was deflected by Hanbou's tails. Unbeknownst to Jin, Hanbou's training made his tails as strong as steel. With a pretty thick defense revealed, the chameleon began his charge once again.

"Skyhorn!" Jin yelled. The light went half up his arm and formed a gauntlet. Then a giant, bulky, decorative bow formed into his hand from the gauntlet. "Sky Rain!" shouted Jin. He pointed his new weapon into the air and fired a shot up. The shot rained down heavy shots of light. Hanbou, utilizing his tails again, used them to defend himself. They formed over his head in the similar fashion of a hood.

"Bursting Sky! Jin shot another shot above him, packed with more energy. When it exploded, multiple shots crashed into the ground and rushed around him in a vortex fashion. One shot clipped Hanbou. It tripped him and left him victim to the Sky Rain attack. Jin warped above him as energy gathered at the front of the Skyhorn.

"The End Game!" Every weapon of Jin seemed to have an extra powerful finishing move. Hanbou was on the ground on his back as the arrow rain nailed him head on. Jin fired off his shot. It was a thin laser that hit Hanbou directly in the chest. The light faded and the poor chameleon began glowing. Suddenly, a massive pressure of energy built up into the enemy reptile's chest before exploding in a bright field of light.

Jin landed on the ground, with the light fading from his arm as the explosion faded. Hanbou fanned the smoke away with his mighty tails. Somehow, the reptile was still standing. Jin smirked and the Skyhorn returned to his arm. "I guess I shouldn't of held back," said Jin.

Hanbou's face gained a terrified expression. "...Holding back!?" he shouted.

Jin smirked once again and raised his weapon. The glow intensified and he sparked his aura, as he charged more energy. "End Game: Class 2," spoke the black hedgehog, raising the Skyhorn. The charged shot grazed the ground in front of Hanbou. The ground slowly crumbled and emitted a powerful explosion that not only knocked Hanbou unconscious, it sent him out the ring.

"JIN RIARDOS IS THE VICTOR!"

Jin's Skyhorn weapon faded and Akarui returned to the sheath. "Of course," he spoke, exuding his trademarked cocky nature while taking his exit.

Rad smirked proudly. "Still as strong as ever. I wonder if he even put forth any effort," spoke the returning hedgehog, as his attention turned to the next arena.

This time....

"ICHIDA MURAMINO, TO ARENA 2"

...Ichida was up to bat.

Ichida walked into the arena, stretching his arms and giving a lazy yawn. His opponent was a female Raven, wearing a black vest and shorts, but wearing her talons and wings out naturally. "It'll be a pity to rip apart suc-"

Ichida was on the other side of the ring, scratching his ears. He was laying on the ground half-asleep. The angered Raven flapped her wings around. "You DARE to ignore Delvia, the darkness in the sky!" she shouted, taking flight into the air. When the bell rang, the arrogant bird began diving for Ichida.

Ichida opened up one eye halfway. "Oh... we started?" he said, scratching his cheek. He held his hand out and snapped his finger. A soundwave bursted suddenly in front of Delvia(Dell-vee-uh), causing her flight path to be skewed. She recovered in the air with a confused look and a loud squawk.

"You see, it sucks for you. I'm a long range fighter, and you're close-ranged. With my sound manipulation, you'll never get close to me," he explained, yawning in the middle. No one was sure if there was ever a time when Ichida wasn't looking for a nap.

Delvia ignored his speech. She again began to dive for her half-sleep opponent. Ichida snapped both of his fingers, and sonic blasts erupted from Delvia's ears. She couldn't hear anything except for the loud ringing caused by sound-controlling hedgehog.

Delvia could only flutter helplessly as Ichida rose to his feet. A small aura generated around his hands as focus entered the hedgehog's mind. The tan-furred sound-wielder clapped his hands and sent a large blast of sonic waves crashing towards the poor bird. It hit her dead on and sent her crashing into the arena floor.

"Good game," he spoke, stomping his foot. Sonic waves splashed across the arena, picking Delvia up, and skipping her out of the arena. She comically squawked with every bump on the way out.

"ICHIDA MURAMINO IS THE WINNER!"

Rad smirked. "Before he could only control sound with screams and claps. Now snaps and stomps? He's definitely improved, and he was still half-sleep," he thought. Ichida even did his fair share of growing among Rad's friends.

"AQUA 'ALEC' ANOS, TO ARENA 2"

"Alec always had potential, knowing two elemental powers. But his goofy nature always hindered that. Let's see how he's grown," Rad thought from the sidelines.

Alec's opponent was a yellow female cougar by the name of Lani(La-knee). Alec was a sucker for ladies, so Lani's majestic beauty flustered his thoughts. Lani wore a pink sports bra and pants. She needed clothes that didn't interfere with her cat-like abilities. When the bell rang, Lani leapt for Alec on all fours and reached him in the blink of an eye.

Alec's eyes shrank. He let out a loud yelp before melting into a puddle of water. Lani landed on the ground confused on the whereabouts of her target. The puddle of water she landed on shot up into a giant ball of water, attempting to trap Lani. The cougar retaliated with amazing speed, jumping over the water before it closed. Out the water, a giant fist snatched Lani and threw her at the ground.

With ease, Lani landed on her feet. She purred as Alec reverted back to his regular form. "Prrrr... Mmm, don't you know? Cats aaaalllways land on their feet..." she said, winking at Alec. Cats are, of course, a proud species.

"Screw that. I'm ending this before you use another cat pun!" Alec threw his hands in the air and clouds began feet above his arena alone. The athletic feline began hissing as heavy rains began to descend on the two. Alec sank into the ground as water and disappeared. Alec's feline opposition was unable to sniff out Alec amongst the rain.

Lightning soon rang through the clouds. The raindrops ceased, all being suspended in the air. They turned and pointed towards Lani, who darted across the arena as the aquatic atmosphere targeted and turned against her. A large strike of lightning crashed down and the nimble cougar avoided the electrical shots easily. A large hand of water came up and snatched the yellow cougar in it's grasp.

"Gotcha..." said Alec. The water began forming an orb around Lani. With tremendous force, the orb of water began to implode and crush and captive cougar into unconsciousness. The force was too much for the fragile feline and as the attack wore off, she dropped to the arena floor with a hard thud.

"ALEC ANOS IS THE WINNER"

"One shot...?" started Rad's thought. Stroking his chin with a raised brow, he continued. "Maybe he has improved..."

"I will kill ALL of the Titans!"
Chapter 5
How much they've grown. Part 2.

Rad had already witnessed how his friends have improved, but not everyone had finished their matches yet.

Next up was Oriord Hiziku. Taking the ring against an old enemy, named Bruno. Bruno was a very muscular North American Brown Bear. His thick legs were packed into a pair of regular jeans and his hulking upper body was as tough as a brick wall. Sporting a basic leather jacket, he also had armor plates on his shoulders and stood a menacing nine feet tall. This titan constantly participated in the tournament but Rad and his allies silenced him during the preliminaries on every account.

"Really? The nerd pipsqueak. This is gonna be fun..." roared the burly voice of Bruno, generically cracking his knuckles.

Oriord only knew the fighting style Wing Chun. He had no extra powers like his friends that gave him advantages. This battle would be a tough one for the disciplined Martial Artist.

As the bell rang, Bruno's humongous hand glowed. "Check out what I learned," he snarled. The hulking bear smacked the ground and a brute force shook the arena with the tremors rushing across, disrupting Oriord's stance.

The Wing Chun fighter chuckled.

"What's so funny?!" Bruno angrily shouted, halting his attack. Bruno was easily phased by even the smallest retorts.

"You made cracks in the ground. Nothing even happened," mocked the cunning Oriord. His cunning was cut short when Bruno punched the ground and the broken floor of the arena rushed up and slammed against him.

'You were saying... Runt?" spoke Bruno, charging towards Oriord. At the last minute, Oriord sidestepped Bruno and delivered eight brutal punches to the muscular physique, all in one second. Bruno swatted his side as Oriord effortlessly evaded backwards.

"Chain punching. The key technique to Wing Chun. My best record is 12 punches in one second. Some humans can even do this as well," mocked Oriord, regaining his stance.

Bruno countered by launching his fist at Oriord. The evasive hedgehog sidestepped again and chain punched seven shots up the propelling arm of Bruno before he knew what was happening. In a forceful 8th shot, he dislocated Bruno's arm. In a painful rage, Bruno spun, smacking Oriord with his injured arm. The force flung the chain-punching hedgehog back and stumbling against the ground.

Bruno continued his assault, ignoring his dislocated limb as his rage boiled. Grabbing Oriord from off the ground, he attempted to throw him out of the arena. Oriord, in response, delivered a swift kick to Bruno's knee and regained freedom, then followed up with a sweep kick that knocked Bruno off his feet. The white fur of the hedgehog shined as he stood at the giant's side and began chain punching away.

After an aggressive six seconds of strikes for Bruno, and before distancing himself by shoving Oriord across the arena, he received a grand total of 61 punches to the stomach.

However, Bruno's upper body was as solid as a brick wall.

With one arm, Bruno snatched a tile off the arena off the ground and chucked it at Oriord. Using impressive agility, Oriord jumped onto and over the flying "projec-tile."

Upon Bruno's next approach, Oriord countered by swiftly sweeping to the gargantuan's back and chain punched a meager six shots before Bruno turned around and elbowed him. Oriord fell to the ground in pain. Then Bruno crushed him in one hard shot.

Being an average hedgehog, the brutal shots were near fatal to Oriord.

To finish the job, Bruno utilized the same power he used to disrupt the ground. Bruno delivered the final bow to the stomach of Oriord that once again shook the arena. The Wing Chun Fighter's scream of pain was cut short after coughing up blood and eventually falling out of consciousness.

The victorious Bruno snatched the poor hedgehog by his leg and victoriously tossed him through the air. In less than a blink, Rad appeared and caught Oriord. In this swift moment, the former champion disappeared again.

"BRUNO IS THE WINNER!"

"So Rad's back... I get to abuse him next..." sneered the muscular mammal. This was Bruno's 3rd win, which placed him in the final bracket. Medic's placed Bruno's intimidating arm back in it's socket, tended to Oriord, and repaired the arena before the next match could begin.

Rad warped back to his overview of the arenas. "Poor Oriord. He's not cut out for this..." he thought. After an analysis in the infirmary, Oriord's arm was broken, along with a few of his ribs. Bruno's strength was monstrous, at best.

"If he's lucky, he'll be able to use this arm again. But his Martial Arts days are as good as over..."

That was the report from the medic that Rad would have to relay to the rest of the group.

Outside of the arena, there was a tap on Aria's shoulder. She turned around and was greeted by Mortekai DeAngelo.

Mortekai DeAngelo was a brown-furred hedgehog with a patch of black hair on the front of his head. His eyes were a piercing sky-blue halfly masked by black sunglasses. His attire consisted of loosely flowing white pants and blazer that matched his flawless, pearly-white smile.

"...What're you doing here?" said Aria in a dull tone. She didn't like Mortekai because she viewed him as a womanizer and unable to settle down. Which was completely true, of course.

"Whadda ya think? I'm fightin' the tourney," said Mortekai, full of suave. He saw Aria as a friend, so he's never tried anything. Especially knowing of her infatuation with Rad. Even though Aria wasn't too fond of Mortekai to begin with.

"And what skills do YOU have? Getting phone numbers...?" insulted Aria.

"MORTEKAI DEANGELO, TO ARENA 1"

Mortekai chuckled. "Actually, yes. And I intend to get many more in the future. But'cha gotta check out my new skills. You'll see," he said, leaving to go compete in his match.

Rad raised an eyebrow as he continued viewing the fights in solitude. "...What's he doin' here?" he thought, rubbing his chin. Rad and Mortekai were good friends. He even goaded Rad into being his wingman for some of his female attracting antics. However, Rad knew he wasn't a fighter.

As Mortekai entered the arena, his enemy, a blue echidna by the nickname of Duo, drew two swords. The echidna wore a dark blue shirt and black pants and shoes. The start bell rang. The dual-sword wielder began rushing towards Mortekai. In one spin, he elbowed Duo in the gut that propelled him backwards.

In another spin, Mortekai kicked him in the gut, knocking his opponent back further. In the third spin, he reached behind him underneath his jacket. Behind his jacket was a small glowing sheath. When he reached, a flurry of sparks stretched out and into his hand, even managing to shine in the sunlight.

As his spin ended, Mortekai wielded a long, thick sword. But the entire sword was made of flickering sparks. A flurry of bright yellow and orange energy. The echidna stared at the sword in confusing. Mortekai slyly smirked. "Like it? It's called Senkou. It is what it is, a SparkSword. And here's a tip," he said, and dashed towards the opposition

Swinging Senkou, it clashed with the echidna's swords. Strangely, it felt like the sword clashed several times. The force sent the blade flying out of his combatant's hand. "It's one of the fastest thing you'll ever fight!" yelled the suave hedgehog.

In another spin, he clashed against Duo's second blade three times in what appeared as one strike. It sent the remaining sword from his hand and Mortekai followed through with a kick to the echidna's stomach.

As Duo evaded to recollect his swords, Mortekai took his fighting stance. He placed one arm behind him and rested the sword in his hand while standing firm and tall. The dual-wielder charged in one last desperate attempt, swinging both swords in an X formation. Mortekai swung Senkou and impacted one sword, sending it away after multiple rings echoed through the stadium. Spiraling once more in effortless motion, Mortekai met the second sword, striking it so hard it broke in half.

Senkou's wielder drove his knee into the stomach of Duo, followed with a roundhouse kick to his face, and finished with a spin kick to the gut. One would imagine Mortekai's spinning would leave him open, but the moves were so swift that it was hard to spot a weak point.

Mortekai spun once more, dragging his sword along the ground. Multiple clacks and bangs ran through as the sword cut clean through the arena floor. The playboy hedgehog swung Senkou upwards, which sent a slash of sparking energy towards the disarmed echidna. The powerful wave of energy clashed with great force and carried the finished Duo out of the arena.

"Hello, Finals..."

"MORTEKAI IS THE WINNER!"

Rad was actually impressed. For not being a fighter to begin with, his awakened skills were impressive. Especially his sword. But now it was time for something he really wanted to see. For the longest time, Rad battled Kronic as his greatest rival. Ever since he left to train, Kronic had seemed to go into underground training of his own.

"KRONIC, TO ARENA 4"

Rad scowled with pure disgust in response to the name. His long time enemy Kronic was re-taking the arena for his next preliminary bout.

To Be Continued . . . .

This chapter was actually three fights long but I cut the final fight for the next chapter and to add a fight I originally didn't write in the original story(and this chapter was long enough...). I'll also probably extend the preliminary to add a character.

Feedback is love. :o

Sure, if you want to submit a character, I'd gladly include them. :D

Yeah, hopefully I won't be on such a long hiatus this time around.
