Christmas is back again
|
After countless of hour's effort to reinstate the lobby, we can at last allow for our entrants to step on inside. The usual counter situated at the center, with two bartenders looking to serve drinks for the thirsty, and food for the hungry. Serve's a purpose seen as our combatants tend to vary in size and such a new room has been exclusively designed for those who wish to move around more openly, while yet have someone specifically serve out nutritious meals and the like. Each member are allowed to walk freely out in the outer yard, where I tend to observe each and ever individual who enters. But don't expect a handshake, I ain't never been much in favor of the mortal kinds. Now as for introductions.... What? It ain't my fault my other subordinates are late. Entertainment are meant to be in the arena, so do not think about making fuzz at the lobby. As we'll have a suitable location for up-starters like you. Exactly, we have our exclusive dungeon, and trust me, you don't wanna get your ass hauled down there. Welcome to the inter-round lobby! |

The brown hedgehog tilted her head a bit, trying to capture everything he was silently venting to the wall. What an odd human she thought. As he spoke more, she started to piece together what he was saying. At the end of his request she moved back a bit as she blinked her eyes a few times, apparently snapping out of her own train of thoughts. "Oh... Well um, excuse me for a m-moment." She tells him, slightly stuttering as she was she a bit offended that he didn't want her. She nervously smiles and bows. "I'll be right back!" With that, she took off and reached the meerkat, nearly sliding to a halt. "Your highness!" She nearly shouted, snapping Mev out of his own thoughts. "He... The man... I don't think he likes your kind gesture... Um, I believe he wishes for a bit of an improvement with um... Well, me... Not being human..." She comments, trying to be as proper while not insulting herself in the process. Mev shook his head a bit as he heard this. "I would think a barbarian would take any maid into his care, regardless of their species... So he has morals after all... Lex, fetch the barbarian his wishes... Oh, and give him three..." The wolf nods his head upon receiving his orders. He quickly hurried out of the lobby while the brown hedgehog looked at the human. "Um... Should I fetch him his request?" She asked, to which Mev didn't say anything at first. "Follow Lex and make sure you get triple of what he ordered." She didn't need to be told twice as she ran off after the wolf while trying to signal to Claru with her hands that she'd be back soon. "Vex... Where is Neal?" "He should be returning shortly, your highness..." Mev didn't say anything else. He continued to look at the ring in his hand as his eyes scanned every each of it. Soon, three human maids strolled through the lobby entrance, two of them with black hair and the one in the middle with light brown hair. The one in the middle was the tallest as well. The quickly walked over to Claru and bowed to him as they spoke all together. "Nice to meet you master, your request is on its way." They looked up at him and smiled, waiting for his next request. They ogled at him as they smiled more, loving the fact that he seemed like a strong man. "Don't forget about my other gesture, barbarian..." Mev comments to himself after hearing the maids speaking to Claru. |

Aaron glared at the body bags. He then held out his right palm, and summoned the Sword of Awesomeness. He gripped the handle, and slashed those body bags to shreds. He then turned to look at the meerkat. In the celestials' head, all he could think about was this.. "I hope josh or me gets to face off with you...Either of us will make sure you get your very own diamond-encrusted body bag. We'll make sure of that." |

It was times like these that Claru was glad that his mask concealed his entire face. Words like 'shock', 'bemusement' and 'surprise' could not adequately encompass what he was feeling at that moment. "Eh... Ahm... Excuse me a moment," he said, once more turning to face the wall, this time planting his face directly into it. "Mind-reader! That vampire's a mind-reader!" he muttered, "How else would he have known exactly what I was thinking? Out of my head, out of my head, out of my head...!" He sat up again, adjusted his collar and gave a polite cough. "Well, this is... an unexpected turn of events," he said to the maids, "I'm, ah... not entirely sure how to react." Damnit, now I'm on the defensive! This has slipped right under my guard; what a crafty move. I hate to admit it, but I've lost this psychological battle. He took a breath to slow his climbing heart rate, then gestured at the rest of the seats around the table, doing his best to keep his trembling hands in check. "Please, take a seat, ladies," he said, "I'm sure standing around for hours isn't particularly comfortable." |

Mev continued to stare at the ring, ignoring the human shredding the body bags. he expected a reaction like this. Kids will be kids after all. His mind was too focused on the ring thought to really care about anything else at the moment. His eyes narrowed a bit as he heard footsteps coming towards him. The porcupine was back. He was slowly and calmly walking towards his master. Suddenly in a rush of wind the meerkat was face to face with porcupine. "M... M-master... W-what..." He uttered, feeling his own blood flowing down is body. Mev was holding a combat knife. The wolf standing behind them now realized that the knife was his own. He has seen Mev move this fast before, but it still always surprised him. "You failed me... Twice... I don't allow third chances..." With that said Mev removed the knife from the porcupine's chest violently. The guy flopped to the floor and twitched a few times before laying there motionless. The wolf quickly grabbed the knife from Mev's hand as he handed to him while the feline maid started to clean his hand that had a bit of blood on it. She paused for a moment as she looked at Mev for a moment. His eyes, they had that evil-like glare to them. She didn't like seeing his eyes that way. It scared her senseless. She snapped out of it and continued to clean his hand. She yelped a bit as he pulled his hand away from her and walked towards the counter again. "Clean this mess... The smell of his blood irritates me." He ordered, to which the wolf simply nods his head and scooped the dead porcupine up and hauled him away. As he was leaving his twin brother walked in, shaking his head at the dead porcupine. "Your highness... I guess you're aware that your brother is already here." "Yes, I'm very much aware... Here, for your loyalty." Mev tells the wolf that came back, tossing him the ring. He caught and looked at it, wondering why he suddenly wanted to get rid of it. "I take it he failed you twice then..." The wolf comments, to which Mev didn't reply. He looked at the counter and said nothing else. Now, all he could do was wait until his brother arrived. Meanwhile, the maids did as they were told, smiling brightly as they joined him. "My master, please give us something to do. As much as we dislike standing, we also dislike sitting around with nothing to do. Please put us to good use. Pleeease." The brown haired maid tells him, to which the other two simply nod their head. Before they could say anything else, they heard a bit of commotion and looked towards Mev. They weren't bothered by this at all. They simply shook their heads in disappointment. "He must of failed him, twice even... Poor guy. Its not easy pleasing Master Mevnomba... I hope you'll be easier to please than him though." One them cooed, resting her chin on his shoulder until they were given their next orders. |

Claru watched as the corpse was carried out of the room. He was no stranger to death, but seeing the murder performed with such efficiency and with such little reaction from the victim's fellow attendants sent a chill up his spine. His fists clenched instinctively, and his weight shifted in preparation to carry him out of his seat once more. Wait, a voice of reason called to him, This won't change anything. If anything, causing problems now is only going to make the entire situation snowball out of control. Besides, what can I do right now without that? What would Lady Mari say if she caught me throwing myself into such a situation? As if in answer, his mind conjured up an image of Mari, the 'Jade Mountain', 'Knight of Knights', the only person on the planet who had ever managed to discipline him successfully. "How thick is your skull, boy?!" the imaginary Mari thundered at him, "If I've told you once, I've told you a hundred thousand times, don't strike at what you can't break! ESPECIALLY not with your bare fists! If I catch you trying to pull that foolishness ever again, whatever bones you don't break on your own will be mine for the snapping, you hear me?! And while we're on the subject of bones, quit fooling around with those girls before I toss you through the nearest orbital colony! Don't think I can't do it either!" The mere thought of what his former teacher's reaction would be caused him to pale almost instantly. The adrenaline stopped cold in his blood, and whatever vengeful strength he had left him immediately. He relaxed in his seat with a sigh and reached up to remove his mask. "Believe me," he said to the maids as he undid the seals on the sides, "I'm all too easily satisfied." With a quiet hiss of air, the mask loosened and fell into his waiting hand, revealing his face for the first time since he arrived. He reached for the glass of wine and raised it in a mock toast. "Well, here's to past lessons revisited, I guess," he muttered, taking a quiet sip. |

upon seeing the meerkat kill one of his own maids, that would've sent a chill down anyone, but Josh was really used to murder and blood like that, but with that speed, something kept telling him that the meerkat might be a vampire, but he went on to watch Aaron shred the body bags... |

Lifio had now grabbed a seat on one of the couches and continued to slowy eat the orange in his hands.
The fox was startled at the mention of his own name and brought out of a daydream he was in. Someone here actually knew him? Lifting his head up, he quickly looked around the lobby for someone he recognised. An orange hedgehog stood out for him for some reason. "Where do I know him from... He thought, looking back down at his hands, while trying to figure out who the hedgehog was. "He seems very familiar..." Thinking through previous memories the vulpine tried to look back to try and find the hedgehog within them. There was one that stood out. It was of himself, and his friends; Aero, Flux and Sage, and the orange hedgehog with a black and red fox, and a cyan hedgehog. They were in a busy park talking about getting moving. "Oh!" Lifiio thought to himself with a look of realisation on his face. "Now I know where I recongise him." The orange hedgehog, if he remembered correctly was called Josh. They had met when Lifio, with Aero, were going to sabotage a possible base of an organisation named THEOS; an organisation that wanted all beings with powers dead as in their view, they were considered a threat to public safety. Josh and a friend of his Frost, the cyan hedgehog from the other memory, stumbled upon them and they almost got caught by the organisation after an intruder alarm went off, but managed to escape. It was then that the pair offered to help Lifio and his friends, and the scene in the park was them meeting up again roughly two hours after they first met, about to leave the city they were in. While the fox was deep in thought, trying to remember, time had passed quite quickly and and when he looked around once again, to see a dead porcupine being carried out. Someone had been killed!? The sight of the body made him feel sick, and even a little light headed. "Ignore the body, Ignore the body." Lifio told himself in his head trying to get his squeamishness under control and calm himself as he began to panic. "Ignore the body, think of something else." |

Mev simply sat there, deep in thought as he simply waited the arrival of his brother. The wolf that carried the body away soon came back. He wasn't alone though. The brown hedgehog maid was with him, along with three more maids at their side. The other maids were carrying baskets of fruits and biscuits, just like the human ordered. "Sorry for taking so long!" The hedgehog tells Claru as she smiled and bowed as a greeting. The other three maids set down the baskets and smiled, also bowing as a greeting. "I hope you enjoy them... Both the maids and the food." She giggled. The other three maids bowed once more and followed the wolf as they walked towards the meerkat. The hedgehog bows as her final fair well and takes her leave, joining the three human maids and the wolf. Once they reached the meerkat they awaited their next orders, to which the wolf cleared his throat and approached Mev. "You like to travel in style, little brother." Before the wolf could speak a word though, another voice interrupted. They spotted another meerkat sitting on the counter with his legs crossed, one over the over. His fur was much lighter than Mev's fur, and his white hair was longer as well. It flowed down to the middle of his back. He wore nothing but black leather, and chains hanging on him. His jacket was tight fitted, along with his pants. His jacket stopped at his midsection, and a large belt buckle could be seen. It was a dark purple gem with two fangs on the side. There was a mark on his chest, an X focused more on the left side of his chest, which could only be partly seen as his jacket was unzipped. Mev didn't reply to his brother. However, his eyes were fixed on him with a stern and almost hate stare. His older brother returned the stare with a evil-like smirk. "Excuse, Mr. Bodyguard, you mind giving me my mother's ring back?" The wolf looked at Mev, then back at his older brother. Seeing as Mev didn't say not to the wolf tossed him the ring. "What do you want, Vek..." Mev asked him as he caught the ring. Vek looked over the ring for a moment before answering. "I came to support you, Ven... Why else would I be here?" He replied with a smile. "I see you've already made enemies..." He adds, looking towards Claru for a moment. He then fixed his attention on Josh and Aaron. "Even with little boys I see... This is unlike you, Ven-" "You don't know anything about me... And for the last time, my name is not Ven. I wont tell you this again." Vek blinked a few times, to which he just smiled and looked at the ring again. "I called Fret. He says you made him a business offer-" "Are you jealous?" Mev's evil smirk was present upon speaking this. Vek couldn't help but smirk back. He shook his head and hopped off the counter. "I think I've made my point... So if you don't mind, I'd like to hear this deal you made... Maybe I'll introduce myself to your new enemies while I'm here..." "Be my guest..." With that said, Vek smiled as he looked around. The question was, who should meet first. A few kids or the man that Mev targeted as his meal... "Past lessons?" One of the maids asked Claru. She tilted her head as she stared. "You must be a mighty warrior then, correct? Maybe a similar tale of Hercules?" "I heard you lifted a table with one hand, like it was weightless." "You're very handsome for a warrior. Why would you risk your life in a tournament as this?" "You have to be careful my master, we don't want you to get hurt." The girls kept talking one after another, until they said the same thing all together. "Don't get hurt, my master." With that said they clung to him as if meaning every word. However, something was different. This wasn't a cry for affection, this was a cry for help as their eyes focused on him as if he was their savior more so than their master. |

Aaron paid witness to that gruesome, disgraceful act of that meerkat killing one of his own maids. Something about that caused a horrible thought to push into his mind, and once again into a whisper. "...Josh....He's a.....Vampire." Aaron glanced at the meerkat from where he was. Another thought that presented itself to the Celestial's head was this... "He's doing this to get attention. Something about him is off, and it's all about that..ring. What's with that ring? No matter. Josh or i will set this guy straight, teach him some manners in respecting people that are lower than him. And if he is a vampire...Then....I'll think of something." |

"Bravo! You figured it out!" Vek's voice came from behind Aaron and Josh. How Mev's brother ended up behind them so quickly could be pinned on his 'vampire' abilities. At least, that is what people will think anyways. "We're vampires... In fact, I'll make it known to everyone." He tells them, clearing his throat as he turned his body to the rest of the lobby. "Attention everyone! Attention! I have an announcement to make! Me and my handsome brother are vampires! Thank you, that is all!" After he was done with his announcement he turned to Aaron and Josh with a evil smile, his eyes glowing a blood red color instead of his normal light green eyes. "Satisfied? Or perhaps you want some kind of reward for 'discovering' the truth... Then again, it isn't like he was hiding it from anyone. All you needed to do was ask. I'm sure he would of shown you his fangs to prove himself." Vek tells the two of them, smiling as his own fangs extended pass his lower lip. "Now that the secrets out, what is it that you want to gossip and whisper about now, children..." |

Josh drew his sword out as well, because of the pattern, the vampire would think it's a holy weapon, and then he created a ball of dark gaia to use as a shadow mine, saying "if I were you, you'd take back what you said about us being kids..." and having his sword in a defencive position to block... |

"When you've lived as long I have, everyone is a mere child. And don't be foolish, I'm not joining this lame tournament. I'm here to support my brother... No, no, that would be a lie. I'm here for my own personal reasons. I could careless if Ven was beaten to a bloody mess." Vek tells them, shrugging his shoulders at the end. "Word of caution though... My little brother isn't just a vampire. He has other abilities that surpass my own... I'd say he more beast than vampire. In any case, I believe a greeting is in order. Call me Vek, if you will. I already know you're Aaron, and the hedgehog next to you would be Josh... Pleasure to meet both of you." He adds, letting the fact that he knew their names sink in a bit. There was a reason for this. Vek wasn't your average vampire either. In fact, the trio Dondred brothers all had different abilities than normal vampires. |

The ring was his mother's ring, so how did it end up where his father's ring was? Lastly, if her ring was there instead, then where was his father's ring? Maybe he pieced together the maps wrong. "Lex... Bring me my suitcase..." The wolf nods to Mev and headed out of the lobby. Vex just watched his brother leave, and at this moment he took the time to watch Mev's brother. He was messing with those little kids, and they didn't even know it. Maybe he wasn't. Maybe he was planning to use them to somehow bring down Mev. It wouldn't be the first time Vek did this. He'd have to wait and see. |
