This sounds like the Sonic game I have been longing for. If it comes to beautiful fruition, I will give SEGA every cent I own. I'd gladly be able to spoil the guts of the game here but the link has all the information you'd need. I'll let you smile ear-to-ear while you read it. Hopefully I'm not getting too excited. Once it's announced, I'll be all-in. For now, let's hope it doesn't get cancelled. DX

But Pianta makes a point that I kinda brought up in my first post. It does sound a bit too good to be true but apparently it's been in development since before Generations. Spoiler: click to toggle My guess at the playable characters: Sonic. (Of Course) Tails. Knuckles. Shadow. Silver. Metal Sonic. Blaze. Maybe Amy? (Hopefully not) Maybe Espio? Super Sonic, hopefully. I can't think of any other characters that could really fit. I'd want to say Cream but that'd seem like overkill.. But I did hear about Sonic Dimensions, which was supposedly going to have Sonic's personalities split into different colors each with their own mood and abilities. I wonder if this could be it?

Spoiler: click to toggle Wow I don't think I've ever heard of Sonic Dimensions until now. That sounds like an awesome idea though! I would very much buy and play a game like that. But I feel like it has the potential to be really cheesy though. Oh well, it never hurts to try. And lol at the idea of an angsty Sonic. Ughhh... I don't think I even have the patience for that. Never mind, I take it back. What a dumb idea. But anyways this new Sonic game sounds wiiiicked. I've always liked the idea of different paths to take to finish a stage, that's why I like Unleashed. (Well, one of the reasons I like Unleashed.)

In terms of character list, the following are pretty much certain: -Sonic -Tails -Knuckles -Amy (She's been in every Advance title so I can't see why not) -Shadow And some possible entries might be: -Metal Sonic -Espio -Vector -Charmy -Rouge -Cream -Silver -Blaze Silver and Blaze are a little tricky since there would need to be a reason for them to show up from the future/her dimension. Though I suppose Silver showed up in Rivals 2 for almost no reason. Guess we'll see. Also why are you guys talking in spoilers about Dimensions? Can't spoil something that doesn't exist.

But where did you hear that NSB gameplay-bit? I never remembered that. Can't see gameplay like that working with Sonic's speed, with four players. Anyway, suppose there's nothing else to do but wait at this point. Around February hopefully.

We've had only Sonic for a while now and suddenly we've got 10 playable characters? That's more than most games have had (excluding Heroes, but I usually count every team as a single playable unit leading to four separate playable 'characters'), so it does seem like a bit of a jump out of the blue. Same goes for the 20 stages, unless they're counting each act as a separate stage. The other part of it for me is that I'm not sure if they can pull something that sounds that ambitious off. As highly praised as the Adventure games are, they were a bit of a mess in terms of gameplay since the development had to be shifted between multiple gameplay styles, rather than working on getting the one just right. That said, this sounds more like an S3&K/Advance series approach, where the basic gameplay remains the same for everyone but they all have some unique skills to help them explore stages in new ways. Which could work just fine. But we'll have to wait and see. General rule is that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Too much hype early on in a rumour's life just leads to disappointment. I'll stick with sceptical mode for now.

I never really thought of it that way, comparing the Adventure titles. I was just thinking of how the multiple stage thing worked for other games but yeah, in those other games you only played as one character. I'm hoping all the characters at least have a reason for being there, and a reason for being playable. Instead of just oh here we are you can play as us whoo hoo.

I don't feel like getting my hopes up for this. I'll just have low expectations, that's better than anything. Ludichaos General rule is that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. There are plenty of times Knuckles was around when he prolly shouldn't have been, but honestly I hope he's one of the playable characters. Ultimately, it may be wiser to be a bit skeptical. Unleashed certainly didn't live up to my hopes, in terms of plot. It... Kind of killed all of my hopes for plot ever being good in a Sonic game again, haha. So, I guess my hopes were marred, and then Colours lived up to what remaining hopes I had, in particular in the gameplay and music aspects.
