We are still watching

If we're counting computers, then I'll have to say my first is my parents' desktop computer, purchased in about 1993 or 1994. I can still list the specifications off on the fly. Intel 486SX processor with a clock speed of 33 MHz, which was pretty good for that time. 4 MB of RAM bumped up to 8 MB, a 100 megabyte hard drive, two floppy drives (5 1/4 inch and a 3 1/2 inch), an 8X Creative Labs CD-ROM drive and a Sound Blaster 16 PnP sound card. Had that thing from then until 2002 when we finally made the move to a Pentium and Windows 95. Jeez, we were so behind the times. >_> That's what you get when you live in the sticks. But I had some very awesome games to play. DOOM, Wolfenstein, Quake, System Shock. And those are the kinds of games that I return to. Thousand dollar laptop, playing them at full speed in DOSBox or collecting older systems of that era and restoring them. As a gamer, my beginning was definitely brought about by IBM. But as for console games, I started with a SEGA Genesis and some games I bought from a neighbor for 20 dollars. |

The first console I've ever received as a gift or bought specifically for me was a Sega 32X, which isn't really a console. It was a birthday gift. If that doesn't count then an Xbox. My first handheld was a Sega Game Gear. It's funny because I don't have any of those anymore. I still have a 32X but it isn't the original given to me. |

The first console I owned was the PlayStation...I remember seeing my dad playing Tekken 2 so I played it, and that was the first game I ever played. I believe I was 4-5 when I played it and I have never looked back really. |

Yep.
|
I think my first system was either the NES or the Playstation 1. I can only remember so many things from my childhood, so i don't really know what was the first one. Though considering the only thing i played on the NES was Super Mario Bros, while i had nearly 30 games on the PS, i'd say Playstation 1 was the first console i snatched my hands on. |
