Overrated Sonic Games?

Personally, I find Sonic Adventure 2, the Rush Seires, and the Rivals series overrated. They just don't appeal to me much.

Now don't get me wrong, SA2 is a good game, but personally I don't see how this was the "last decent Sonic game of all time" as some fans put it. I find myself enjoying the storyline and gameplay of games like Unleashed and Colours more.

I have SA2 myself and I love it to death but I love Unleashed and Sonic Colors a lot too.. so there's been a lot of good games after SA2..people just don't see it is all

Since I'm mostly a PC gamer, I've been missing out on the game for several years. During that time a lot of people have said this is a great Sonic game. To be honest, I don't see it. It feels like a watered down version of SA1. No adventure stages, no character select etc. and some really frustrating levels. If if wasn't for the SA2 adaption in Sonic X, then I would find the whole sage incoherent.

I hated the idea of a werehog, thought it was stupid, and I didn't understand why people considered it to be healing for the game franchise. Plus I thought it was unnecessarily difficult. But then I started playing it again, nearly 4 (or 5?) years after I first got it, and now that I'm older I better understand. Still think it's unnecessarily difficult though. But I mean, I don't think it's overrated now. I used to.

It gets way too much attention than it deserves, and everyone knows it's a bad game. Nobody ever leaves it alone. imo, Sonic Rush and Rush Adventure are underrated.

I know it's terrible but I like how they switched it up and added some depth in the story, however badly it played out. I don't really care if anyone disagrees, this is my opinion.

I don't hate it, but there isn't anything I particularity love about it, aside from the music. I mean, the speed stages are fun but the treasure-hunting levels can be frustrating and the shooting stages tend to be monotonous at times. The story's good, but it certainly isn't my favorite. And there basically isn't anything I really find all that great about it.

It's good, but it gets treated as if it were a relic from the heavens. And, also... I don't really like Sonic CD too much. The time travel felt VERY gimmicky and the level designs weren't exactly my cup of tea.

Don't get me wrong, I love the game, but I think that the treasure hunting levels are horrible and boring and the shooting levels are mediocre at best. The speed levels, however, are certainly amazing I must say.

It adds good diversity and even I don't like the hunting or robot parts that much. But it's still an amazing game with one of the best storyline and dialogue in Sonic games currently. Recent Sonic games, like Colors, had colorful dialogue but felt it was TOO childish. I don't wanna feel like I'm six years old when I play the game.

This is pretty much how I feel in regards to Sonic games. Colours was a good game to me, but like TKC said, it is too childish at times. I have to say that Colours is overrated because people act like it was one of the best Sonic games ever created when it was slightly above average at best.
