Christmas is back again

Greeting mortals!

I welcome you to our 6th tournament. Me, (Warzak) and Talancir will make sure all matters are handled with utmost attention.
Such as each member included, following each set of rules, vaguely similar to that of our previous, with a few exceptions that will be drawn out in more detail further below.

Now seen as our previous tournaments has failed, not out of lack on interest, but most of all, the judges ending up spending months on serving our competitors the result they so much wanted to see.
Well that's about to change. Hopefully for the better.

The new changes will include.

  • Competitors will have a side-role as judges for your neighboring match.
  • If a tie-breaker initiates, one of the hosts will come and say the final word.
  • We are looking to have minimum 8 members included. While we won't allow more then 12 members, with a chance to actually fulfill what we've come here for.
  • If by any chance this tournament will be fulfilled, there's a new twist coming for a potential 7th tournament. Won't throw out any details seen as it's still very far away, but might be something worth working for am I right.
  • No match should have more then two judges overlooking it. For instance, even if you end up loosing in your own, your still responsible for keeping an eye out for your neighbors match.
  • If a match tend to end more quickly then another. These participants won't have to wait until everyone else is finished. As soon we have at least two finished matches, we might announce for the member/characters to move out, even if everyone else is on the first round.

Rules are as followed.

Each match shall be judged from these observations.
  • Fair Play
  • Grammar
  • Adaptation to Environment
  • Entertainment

Note. If we do not see an reasonable description from the selected member's point of view. Ether one of the hosts will make it invalid, and take care of it from our standalone point of view. Be reasonable, and do not favor friends over actual rivals. We will take note of such actions.

Sign up's will be in added separately. This is used for conversations until both the cafeteria and signup's are open.

Final word. We might not offer same audacity like L did with his tournament, adding quite the story within. Just be vigilant, might be something up under our sleeve. This could very well be a rumor. So stay peeked for more information relating to the cafe.

I don't think that would work. The match might end up going on long enough to turn in to just an intensely moderated RP between two people. Personally, I'm still waiting on the next tourney, and this one going on until everyone forgets about it is only going to delay the next. I say let the count down begin!

In truth, I'd always thought about waiving the deadline, but I dunno. One of the underlying reasons for a match timeout is so that people can actually try to defeat the other opponent within a reasonable time frame. Though, if Ludi and Blaire prefer to keep going until there is a clear and decisive winner, then I'd allow it. but of course, there are other issues that would make a timeout necessary, such as a match dragging on for an unreasonable amount of time without a clear winner, and of course there are IRL commitments that make an extended match really difficult to maintain...

I suppose it all depends on the finality of this match. After all, it only brings an end to the tournament on the condition that I come out the victor. If I lose, we rematch due to my being knocked into the Loser's Bracket for the first time.

Were it not for that variable I'd be happy to fight until its proper conclusion. But I don't want to drag it on needlessly like it has been pointed out a few times now. A time out end to the tourney would be a little anticlimactic, but would also be fairly apt. I say this tourney should go down in history as the "Time Over Tournament". Haha.

Truth be told I want to see this done as much as anyone else. It's been a loooong undertaking. In fact I signed up this time last year. Crazy to think about it. But I guess the decision is as much mine as it is Blaire's. I'd like to hear her thoughts on the matter if possible.

I object to your claims
First off, I'm sorry I haven't gotten a post in. My internet isn't the best right now.

Second, I wouldn't mind continuing the match until there is a clear winner, but I can understand if Ludi would rather have a timeout in effect.

Well, Ludi? what do you think? by rights, the match is over via timeout by tomorrow, but if you think that it should progress until one combatant is left standing, then so be it. I'd honestly love to see a clear, undisputed winner.

Alright, let's do this. We fight until one of us is left standing!

However, if the tourney dragging on is a real issue, perhaps we can add a longer time out clause also. Perhaps have this wrapped up by the 28th of the month? I wouldn't think it'd take that long but you never know.

Tournament Complete. Sorry for the abortive ending, but the bonus round was hampered by IRL, and seeing as it had no bearing on the end of the actual tournament, there's no need for it to drag on needlessly, especially when we can have a brand new tournament in a couple months, provided that planning and applications can happen as planned.

I ask that a Moderators / Admins please move this tournament to the archives.

Yep. I'm personally really glad to see it finally over. I probably should have gone with my gut and skipped the bonus round in the first place anyway, hah.

Been a long time coming and it's nice to finally see a conclusion. Fun matches, everyone! Sorry for being such a horribly over-powered machine. I honestly never intended for that to be the result~

Here's to more successful tourneys in the future!
