Christmas is back again

Greeting mortals!

I welcome you to our 6th tournament. Me, (Warzak) and Talancir will make sure all matters are handled with utmost attention.
Such as each member included, following each set of rules, vaguely similar to that of our previous, with a few exceptions that will be drawn out in more detail further below.

Now seen as our previous tournaments has failed, not out of lack on interest, but most of all, the judges ending up spending months on serving our competitors the result they so much wanted to see.
Well that's about to change. Hopefully for the better.

The new changes will include.

  • Competitors will have a side-role as judges for your neighboring match.
  • If a tie-breaker initiates, one of the hosts will come and say the final word.
  • We are looking to have minimum 8 members included. While we won't allow more then 12 members, with a chance to actually fulfill what we've come here for.
  • If by any chance this tournament will be fulfilled, there's a new twist coming for a potential 7th tournament. Won't throw out any details seen as it's still very far away, but might be something worth working for am I right.
  • No match should have more then two judges overlooking it. For instance, even if you end up loosing in your own, your still responsible for keeping an eye out for your neighbors match.
  • If a match tend to end more quickly then another. These participants won't have to wait until everyone else is finished. As soon we have at least two finished matches, we might announce for the member/characters to move out, even if everyone else is on the first round.


Rules are as followed.

Each match shall be judged from these observations.
  • Fair Play
  • Grammar
  • Adaptation to Environment
  • Entertainment


Note. If we do not see an reasonable description from the selected member's point of view. Ether one of the hosts will make it invalid, and take care of it from our standalone point of view. Be reasonable, and do not favor friends over actual rivals. We will take note of such actions.

Sign up's will be in added separately. This is used for conversations until both the cafeteria and signup's are open.


Final word. We might not offer same audacity like L did with his tournament, adding quite the story within. Just be vigilant, might be something up under our sleeve. This could very well be a rumor. So stay peeked for more information relating to the cafe.

And well Jack, it was only recently this section was emptied, now it's met another issue. As I hope someone will find a solution to.

 I'm definitely looking forward to this as well. This may be the perfect opportunity to test out my newest character, but it all depends on the potential character restrictions. I'll be keeping a lookout for the sign-up thread.

 Just for the record, I wasn't the only one to input a story-line to a tournament. This was done way before I had the privilege of running a tournament. With that said, I think I was the only one to actually go into such 'rping' depths with the tournament. Either way, my favorite 'story-line' from past tourneys would have to be the one Bowie did, allowing the losing rpers to still have a bit of fun. Tis why I tried to actually have the 'life after death(or losing)' thing be inputted as a possible second chance.

Back on topic, does this mean we can copy and paste our already approved charas from other tournaments? For example, my meerkat-vampire chara I used in Tal's tournament...? I know its a stupid question to ask, but I thought I'd throw it out there. It'll make approving the characters a lot easier I would think.*shrugs*

 Maybe I'll actually get to go past Round 1 this time! (Or was it Round 2? I just remember I lost to Bowie and I thought I won against Blaire but then it halted before our scores got posted....Oh well who cares, I'm super pumped for this one!)

True. Our reason why we wish not to indulge this tournament into an eccentric story, is mostly due to we want to see if we can fulfill a simple tournament bracket without another failure.
As our last two haven't been finished. How many have actually been successful. Perhaps it's more then I remember. Could be that this is the 7th tournament as I've lost track, considering Spin was the first to make an RP tournament.

I don't see why not, have us getting things started more quickly I guess.
Just this wouldn't account for each and every member

Note. However if we have approved of 8 members as is our minimum demand, I don't see why we can't have those who are approved of, beginning their rounds.

 Hm, not really sure if this is the place to bring it up, but I've got a question regarding characters.

What's the policy on form changes? Not something like kicking your strength up (such as going 'super'), but more like something that changes the way a character would fight and perhaps the abilities they have access to.

The reason I ask is because I've got a mechanical character in mind that might be able to transform, but if that would conflict with rules I'll do something else. Assuming I sign up at all, I'm still a little on the fence about this after last time.

I must admit, that I'm not to sure about the transformation, considering the amount of abilities will in fact be included, if such consistently change upon changing form.

Suggestion would probably have him own some sort of weapon in for instance his gloves that allows him to transform at his own will, limiting it self per round/match that is. Whereas both different forms had two abilities each. Maybe one offensive, and one defensive.

Yet I do not know Talancir's opinion around this, so I'll leave it to his decision, in case you do end up joining Chaos.

 so ok, here's the full text on how this is going to play out. Each player has a two day period to get a post out. you have two options:

  • Post a response to your opponent's actions
  • Post a request for more time to make a response

We will honor two requests for more time per match. Each extension is two additional days to come up with a post. We realize that everyone has lives outside the game, but it's also unfair to hold up a match just to get more time. Please do your best. If you time out on a match, we will consider that as a forfeit to your opponent.

Each round will have the players starting their own match threads. DF (Warzak) and I have provided the arena descriptions for you to do so. How this will work is that one of each matchup will create the match thread using the arena description as a reference in their intro post. Once both participants have made their intro posts (interacting with the arena, making taunts at their opponent, etc.), the match will formally begin on the third post.

How will we decide who chooses?

  • the opponents of each matchup will choose a number between 1 and 10 (posting their number in this thread just to keep track). The number closest will choose the arena, and the number furthest will create the match thread.
From the second round onward, we might alternate just to keep it fair.

A match is considered complete when one opponent has achieved the knockout of the other. There are no Ring Outs, and do please don't kill your opponents(you are free to make them wish you had killed them, and for RP purposes, there are ample enough medical facilities to nurse your character back to health between matches). there are also no countdowns when a knockout has occurred. When you're out, you're out.

there might be an ultimate deadline for all matches in a round to be completed somewhere in there, so all you writers of mountainous text should do your best to complete a match before we have to call the round as over! And remember, if you complete your matches early, you can start into the next round as soon as your match completes and your next opponent is available!

As a reminder, everyone will be responsible for judging another match. If we run into the instance where there aren't enough judges, or there is the need for a third judge for a tie breaker, DF and I will step in.

And that should be it. Remember, you will judge / be judged according to:

  • Fair Play: rated 1 through 10
  • Grammar: rated 1 through 10
  • Adaptation to Environment: rated 1 through 10
  • Entertainment: rated 1 through 10
It would be nice to explain why you choose each rating, so people can better understand your decision. Shoddy judging will be highly frowned upon!
