Bosses: Scariest, Creepiest, of just WTF?

Okay I don't know if there was already a topic like this if there was, I either looked right over it (if so, sorry), couldn't find it (again, sorry) or it was too far buried to bump. And I'm pretty sure this is the correct place for a topic like this. If not then my bad ^_^
But I was just posting in the "Easiest Levels in Sonic Games" thread and talking about one particular boss and it made me think...

Some of the bosses in Sonic are really far-fetched. And I've noticed that some are really creepy. I'm talking like "WTF why are you even here?". So tell me, people... Have you ever encountered a boss that was either scary, really creepy, or so far out there that you were just like "WTF?"

Like, okay, I get it, bosses are supposed to be evil and intimidating and invoke fear... But it's Sonic for goodness sakes, not Silent Hill, and some of these bosses look like they belong somewhere else.

I'll start with Time Eater from Sonic Generations. More like Ball Smasher. When I saw him I literally was like "what the hell okay this is kinda a bit much." I mean he is kinda cartoon-y, but I'm sure we all know that that does not take away from the creepy factor. First of all, his movements are all weird and jerky, like he is in desperate need of an exorcism. And then just look at him. I don't think I need to say much more. And he was huge. Every time he showed up he took up damn near 60% of the screen. Intimidating enough for me. Yeah, it was a little less scary when you found out exactly what it was, but still. At first it was kinda out there.

Also in Generations was Perfect Chaos. It looked waaayyy creepier than it ever did in Sonic Adventure. That one was less creepy and more cool-looking. But this remodel for Generations? It literally looks like something out of an alien-based nightmare, and I did not enjoy fighting it. That sound it made when it took on damage was probably the worst. It was really freaky, man. I brought the game to where my little brother lives and demonstrated to all my little siblings that the sound Perfect Chaos made was reminiscent of a mental patient getting strapped down. Even my mother agreed that it was really creepy.

Okay, that's all I'm gonna say. There are more, of course, but that's where the discussion comes in. So tell me, everyone is gonna have their own opinion! Are there any bosses you encountered/have seen/heard about that kinda made you feel nervous even though you're on the other side of the screen? Or am I just a big wimp?

I don't find any boss scary or creepy on sonic series, altough there is just one i literally said WTF?

It is the boss battle against the Pirate and his minion on sonic rush adventure, that battle was just ridiculous on my opinion. But in my belive those two were the most wierd bosses from 2d games

for me, it would be the Egg Emperor, I mean he still gives me grief to this day!
HOW were you supposed to hit him if he kept firing energy waves at you and kept blocking with that seemingly indestructible shield of his!
as for the dark gaia, he actually seems awesome in my opinion, I mean, he could cover half of the world with his hand alone...

Well, I think everyone can tell you like Dark Gaia, considering that your main F.C has drak gaia powers XD just saying

There was another boss in Sonic Rush that was odd to me. Johnny was his name, I believe. But I'm not sure if he was a boss, or a rival.

Johnny was both. You could find him around the sea map and race him to get a chaos emerald, and in the final part of the game you fought him and Captain Whiskers.

Ah okay. I knew he was someone we could race, but I forgotten if he was in the boss fight or not, so I got confused. Thank you for reminding me!

One of the Creepiest bosses I remember is Alf-Layla-wa-Layla from Secret Rings. That thing just looks plain creepy.

Metal Madness is just complete WTF as well. If you think about it, he just looks plain frightening, not really scary to me but when I seen Metal Sonic transform into that I was like 'WTF'.

P.S. Metal Sonic is awesome.

The scary part got ruined for me when i realized the guy's voice was ridiculously annoying. :P Also he screamed like he sang an opera.

Probably Perfect Chaos or Perfect Dark Gaia because for one, they were so badly looking at the time and they haven't aged well. Perfect Chaos looked horrible on the Dreamcast and Gamecube. And Dark Gaia has green blood? Nothnx. Plus it's funny that you have Dark Gaia with this colosseum building transformer, just WTF? Both of these bosses are WTF, scary and creepy. What even are they? Don't think I wanna know. Oh well, at least the music was cool.

The Time Eater wasn't much of a scary or creepy boss but WTF-worthy. The way the battle worked was just... ugh. I had a hard time beating him and it didn't feel rewarding at all.

The boss in Sonic Rush was a pain in the ass, and Johnny and Captain Whisker was a fun boss methinks. TO DAVY JONES WITH YA.

Okay, you know, there is one boss that comes to mind...

The "scorpion" from Sonic Spinball. Seriously, a giant metal scorpion that drips poison/acid/something from its tail, has a realistic rendition of Robotnik's face, and makes that high-pitched scream when you hit it? Talk about Nightmare Fuel, intentional or not. Some of the other bosses since then have been scary in their own right, but not really with the same sense of "uncanniness".
I love programming! I work at Mommatown as a programmer on sites like Vincent Martella's, Don Leslie's and IPO Boutique. When I'm not doing that I'm usually writing game mods. <3

I'll say this.

The Dark Queen from Black Knight. Yes, it looks menacing, but that's not what I'm talking about.

Her concept is what makes her unsettling.

The Biolizard from Sonic Adventure 2. It's a giant lizard that is missing it's back legs for some unknown reason and is being kept alive by a life-support system. And don't forget that awesomely ominous music. The haunting melody that is Supporting Me is just so dark for a Sonic game.
What I'd like to know is, how did they go from a giant toothless lizard to a small anthropomorphic hedgehog that just happens to look similar to the main series protagonist, in the evolution from Prototype of the Ultimate Lifeform to Ultimate Lifeform xD I mean, I have theories on why the Biolizard looks the way it does, but the transition is still a bit laughable when you're fighting the lizard with Shadow.

Also, freakin' Biolizard music is so awesome <3

Dark Gaia's full form with the over-the-top eyeballs all over the place made me cock an eyebrow, I must admit. The giant monster theme and all its' predictability didn't really phase me anymore, but still xD
