Bosses: Scariest, Creepiest, of just WTF?

Okay I don't know if there was already a topic like this if there was, I either looked right over it (if so, sorry), couldn't find it (again, sorry) or it was too far buried to bump. And I'm pretty sure this is the correct place for a topic like this. If not then my bad ^_^
But I was just posting in the "Easiest Levels in Sonic Games" thread and talking about one particular boss and it made me think...

Some of the bosses in Sonic are really far-fetched. And I've noticed that some are really creepy. I'm talking like "WTF why are you even here?". So tell me, people... Have you ever encountered a boss that was either scary, really creepy, or so far out there that you were just like "WTF?"

Like, okay, I get it, bosses are supposed to be evil and intimidating and invoke fear... But it's Sonic for goodness sakes, not Silent Hill, and some of these bosses look like they belong somewhere else.

I'll start with Time Eater from Sonic Generations. More like Ball Smasher. When I saw him I literally was like "what the hell okay this is kinda a bit much." I mean he is kinda cartoon-y, but I'm sure we all know that that does not take away from the creepy factor. First of all, his movements are all weird and jerky, like he is in desperate need of an exorcism. And then just look at him. I don't think I need to say much more. And he was huge. Every time he showed up he took up damn near 60% of the screen. Intimidating enough for me. Yeah, it was a little less scary when you found out exactly what it was, but still. At first it was kinda out there.

Also in Generations was Perfect Chaos. It looked waaayyy creepier than it ever did in Sonic Adventure. That one was less creepy and more cool-looking. But this remodel for Generations? It literally looks like something out of an alien-based nightmare, and I did not enjoy fighting it. That sound it made when it took on damage was probably the worst. It was really freaky, man. I brought the game to where my little brother lives and demonstrated to all my little siblings that the sound Perfect Chaos made was reminiscent of a mental patient getting strapped down. Even my mother agreed that it was really creepy.

Okay, that's all I'm gonna say. There are more, of course, but that's where the discussion comes in. So tell me, everyone is gonna have their own opinion! Are there any bosses you encountered/have seen/heard about that kinda made you feel nervous even though you're on the other side of the screen? Or am I just a big wimp?

I object to your claims
The Biolizard from Sonic Adventure 2. It's a giant lizard that is missing it's back legs for some unknown reason and is being kept alive by a life-support system. And don't forget that awesomely ominous music. The haunting melody that is Supporting Me is just so dark for a Sonic game.

Yeah, and he was missing all his teeth, too. But this didn't make the seemingly-endless circular flee from his giant toothless maw as he desperately tried to gum you to death any less terrifying. That was one of the creepiest aspects of this particular boss fight. I hated it when that happened, even though it was the easiest attack to evade. It was nightmarish, really.

And what was that liquid he's sitting in that washes you away when you land in it? Is that his pee? The fluid in which he's been floating in a catatonic sleep for decades? WTF?! Well he's been in there forever and doesn't look like he can move. Not only creepy but really gross too.

He made some creepy lizard roars too. Sent me right back into the prehistoric era, only it was a lot more frightening. If it weren't for Supporting Me, I would've turned the volume alll the way down.

And yeah the music. Although one of my favorite Sonic songs of all time, and it did beautifully lend to the atmosphere of that particular stage, it was no less, well, horrifying. If anyone's reaction when first facing this boss is anything less than a gulping nervousness, then they literally have balls of steel. 'Cus I sure couldn't, and I'm 18 years old. No shame for this game.

My! That's a pretty snazzy performance there!
Metal Overload was a complete WTF... He looked like a mecha dragon, and I mean the ones that look like a Dragonite. The theme is cool though.

Biolizard always scared me as a kid, and, call me a wuss if you want, but Egg Emperor always haunted my pre-school nightmares.
Gonna dropkick it.

Egg Golem was always a big WTF boss for me. It was a giant pyramid... That could move. And the only thing controlling it's movements? A big red button on it's head. I mean... Come on...

King Boom Boo, I suppose. His overall shape and the colour of his tongue is rather wtf. Also, his appearance in an episode of Sonic X is perhaps one of the creepiest episodes of the show if you want to count that in.

Metal Madness is creepy imo, especially with the music and his dialogue.

I don't like Biolizard. Not only was it a hard boss, but I just could not bear to look at it. It's just *shudders*. Words can't describe it's creepiness. And the music did not help at all. Let's just say, to this day, I have yet to face him. Nor do I plan to.

Yep.
Did..did anyone else flinch at Dark Gaia? The game literally shown alien blood flowing out of him, not to mention how disturbing it looks, and the disgusting sounds it makes during the transformation. Plus, the way you attack him is spinning right into his eye.

Don't know what i'm talking about? LOOK AT THIS.

WHAT THE HELL.

^ I have to admit I found that to be rather atypical for a Sonic game. As you said, the blood, the squishy sound and the intention to destroy its eyeballs is a bit more gruesome than most.

Dark Gaia is pretty freaky, especially when it is in it's perfect form. All those eyes and blood was unsettling and surprising. Time Eater was really WTF since it is one ugly bastard. And cmon, it just looks plain silly. (The same can go for Metal Overload >:/)

I don't know if anyone else remembers, but I thought Mephiles seemed like a pretty surprising WTF boss. I mean, I still think it's a little unfair for him to summon copies of himself and make giant monsters rise up from the floor (even though I beat him with no damage and an S rank). But hey, I guess you do what you can when you're a boss monster.
