"The American Government has decided that after talking with well known members of the Computer Games Industry have settled on a plan to move forward with the cooperation of those companies.
As part of our plan to make sure video games do not incite anyone to kill again we plan to make sure the production, sale, and purchase of video games is only available to those who have the correct license.
In the same way that you need a license to drive, or shoot a gun, video games will now require a license to play. Companies will also need a license to produce games.
To gain a developer license, companies will have to fulfill a number of criteria, including only producing games approve by a government oversight committee.
These games must portray the American army, government and guns in a positive light, as well as uphold the Christian morals which this country holds.
We have been working with EA, a world-renowned company, to ensure that we can police the sale of games and developer licensing with the proper resources.
We have chosen EA's Origin distribution system as the primary method of control.
All games will be exclusively sold through Origin, with EA only taking a small percentage of sales to allow them to support its infrastructure.
EA will be in charge of licensing game developers and managing any companies it believes has breached these new laws.
Because the costs are directly taken by EA, this system will not place extra burden on the American Taxpayers. We see this as a win-win situation and thank EA for bringing this idea to the table."

I'd say we may panic soon.
So 'parntly this is fake. Not surprising, the source wasn't really a source at all. I couldn't find any articles on it, so my bad. But this is believeable, so I wouldn't completely wipe this from you mind if I were you.

If this does happen, it only applies to America, right? I really hope this doesn't come to the UK.

The idea is silly if you ask me.

While Video Games may cause killing and stuff, it's usually because people have some form of a mental illness, and their perception between fiction and reality are one in the same, and they likely think that they are just playing the game.

Oh please. This is their main priority right now? I've seen more violence in video games from the 16 bit era than I have in any modern FPS. Not to mention, video games aren't the main reason for "real world violence". What about movies and hardcore rap? You have to get a license to view a movie and listen to music too?

This won't pass I guarantee that. How about we put our funding into helping homeless people or try to come up with a proper, permanent cure for the common cold? This is why the United States sucks and is broke.
And I thought Obama was cool.

My question is: WHEN has it EVER been proven that THAT was the sole specific cause and reason for people KILLING?

I know this (could be, is) fake but geez this is so frustrating how people keep bringing this up.

P.s. And "require a license to play" my ass. Guess I'm going to jail.

If I recall correctly which I'm probably not there were a couple of dudes who went on a wee rampage in a school? and admitted that Doom was the inspiration. I'm pretty sure something similar happened with GTA IV. Not too sure.

Oh so I guess that's proof, because some wackjobs said it is? Not to be rude, but no.

I still can't use this.

Well, considering this is a fake article, I see no reason to actually leave this topic open discussing a law that, well, doesn't exist. xP
