Has SSBB really gone down the drain?

Recently I've discovered that the popular Wii game "Super smash brothers brawl" has not been very active on wifi lately. Of course playing with friends prevents the extreme lag and also taunt parties, but the fun of battling people you don't know, that may or may not have better skills then you is a real thrill.

I've come to ask the simple question: where has it all gone? Only about a year ago the game was perfectly active, well, at least on Nintendo wifi. Perhaps it is because of the new upcoming version. But, I'd think that much like Animal Crossing, gamers would still want a full-screen appearance. What do you think?

^This. After all the game came out years ago, there's a new console and so many new games.

That and Brawl's online tends to be a lag fest anyway.

I know a lot of Brawl players migrated to PS All-Stars when that came out, so that's a contributing factor as well.

Erm, uh, define a lot because not really. They're kinda alike, but the game didn't really sell well.

I don't play Brawl at all anymore. I know a lot of people who just got bored with it.

In fact I've actually grown a pretty intense hatred for fighters in general nowadays, so I'm getting rid of all of the ones I own. Smash Bros included.

A lot =/= all of them.

I can believe that. I'm playing it right now myself and it's my brawler of choice at the moment.

Brawl was pretty good back in the day, but without friends to play it with I find myself lacking the motivation to put the disk in. And when I do play some with my friends in person, we usually stop after a few rounds and that's it.

So yeah. Pretty much its oldness and what Ktim said.

The game came out in 2008. For me, I got bored with it. Online multiplayer was laggy as hell. There's a new one coming up so I'm guessing people are also waiting for that.

I tried playing this a couple weekends ago. Weekends are when people are on the most as far as online goes (with the exception of CoD). That certain weekend, before Christmas, I actually had to go online to see if someone wanted to play. Norm Macdonald once said, and I quote "ridiculous".

It's funny because Killzone 2 multiplayer is still somewhat booming on weekends. Go fig.
