"I'm working on it!" Ezekial shouted. The monster was trying it's best to strangle him, and Ezekial was doing his best not to lose consciousness. The air was running out; it was only a matter of time... Suddenly, Electra appeared from the side and tried to tackle the beast. The water monster reached up to push her aside, but it had let go of Ezekial to focus on it's new target. Ezekial jumped at the chance. Reaching out with flaming claws, he reached in to the monster with renewed vigor and focused as hard as he could. Suddenly, the monster froze, resembling an amorphous block of ice. Ezekial took the chance to back away when the ice started to crack almost immediately. It shattered, but what came from the ice wasn't a blob. It was a feline in a black, flowing dress with dark brown fur and piercing green eyes. Any other day, she would have seemed irresistable, but today was not one of those days. "You are becoming more annoying by the second!" She growled. |

"Are you talking about me or him?" The blonde she-hog quipped, flashing a grin as she took a step forward. "Because that's what people usually say about me!" She dove forward again, trying to either tackle the feline or just take her by surprise. But she was a good opponent; the two girls were fairly evenly matched. Electra danced around, try to use her trademarked electrical attacks but missing. Instead, she channeled her electricity into her arms and legs, using it as a defensive and offensive ability. She wasn't doing poorly, by any means. But even time she seemed to hurt the girl, she was hurt back. But never did the she-hog actually think that she would lose... "You're a pretty good fighter," the electrical she-hog panted. "But that's not enough to stop me!" |

Ezekial tried to stand, but couldn't. The fight with Raven would have been over sooner if he hadn't slipped, and he would have died if it wasn't for Electra arriving when she did. That said, while his breath returned, he could do nothing. All he could do was watch as Electra fought for his life while he was forced to rest. Raven was hardly any better off. She had come out of the fight in much better shape, but she was forced to immediatedly take on another opponent. That girl that Ezekial was exploring with, she was giving much more trouble than expected, especially since Raven had yet to heal from her previous battle. What's worse, this she-hog was an electromancer of some sorts. With each acid backed attack, she was met with an electric attack to counter it. With enough time, she could be worn down and killed. "You're a pretty good fighter," the electrical she-hog panted. "But that's not enough to stop me!" "You idiotic child!" Raven scoffed, "You actually believe that you can defeat a demon!?" Raven refused to admit that it was more possible by the second. There was no more time to play around. Suddenly, Raven's pelt melted. Its features darkened and faded as her body quickly lost all form of a solid body. Within seconds, Raven had transformed once again in to the amorphous, black, and burning acid form she had taken to attack Ezekial. Without warning, it slid quickly across the floor, launching itself towards the electric hedgehog. |

(( Yay! I guess it's time for me to control Raven now, right? )) Electra stepped back in surprise, her eyes going wide with fear. It's coming at me too fast! There's no time--! The blonde she-hog crossed her arms over her face, closing her eyes tightly and looking away as the black glob started to envelop her. She clenched her teeth tightly in pain as her skin started to burn away, her fur disappearing as the acid greedily ate it. She was tempted to scream as the blob fully surrounded her; her back felt like it was on fire. The she-hog opened her eyes slightly, in total pain. W-well...looks like there's only...one thing left to do... Electra gathered all of her electricity, forming it around her body. Warning bells and red lights flashed inside her mind as her imminent death drew nearer. With one last surge of power, the girl released every last bit of electricity inside her body, ripping through the demon. She thought she heard the blob scream; she wasn't sure. The only thing Electra knew for sure was that she was shutting down. With the electricity went her nanites. They fled her body, seeking a new host; they were trained to survive, after all. She couldn't blame them for leaving. They separated into two at that moment. The blob meekly collapsed onto the floor, becoming a puddle. Electra fell from the muck, but she was in bad shape. Her fur and skin had been burned away in several places, the wounds leaking blue-clear fluid. Technically...the girl was dead. ~~~ Electra opened her eyes, groaning. She stood dizzily, looking around herself. She gasped instantly at what she saw. "Woah..." What appeared to hundreds upon hundreds of projection screens were all around her. She looked around in awe and fear. The girl then noticed a chain around her left wrist. She frowned, tugging on it. "Weird...where am I? What happened?" ~~~ In front of Ezekial, the blob suddenly started to reform. It must have been scary, seeing the black mass consolidate and elongate as it searched for a form. Soon, it began to take shape and gain features. It was neither Electra nor Raven. What it was was a girl; a mixture of cat and hedgehog. She had a long cat's tail, with large ears that twitched at every sound. Her face resembled a hedgehog's, with a cute nose. Her teeth were significantly sharp, with notable canines. Her hair was made up of many long spines that hung down to the backs of her knees. Similarly styled bangs hung in front of her face and eyes, but her eyes could still be seen clearly. These spines were actually soft to the touch, but were kept in place. Her fur was even softer, resembling cat fur. Her hands and feet were like paws, but slightly curved and clawed--ready to slash at a second's notice. Her body was predominantly a light shade of grey, with darker shades randomly in her hair. Her paws (hands and feet) were black, like she had had paint poured over those areas. Her hair had long white streaks near the ends, but then smaller black streaks on the tips. In fact...it looked like someone randomly splattered her with white, dark grey, and black paint, and it somehow worked out. Her nails/claws and teeth were white; her lips were black. So was her tongue--seen when she licked her teeth thoughtfully. Her outfit looked like a nice dress or skirt that had been shredded to be more comfortable. A long skirt hung just around her waist, ending halfway between her knees and ankles. A ripped shirt with long sleeves (where the sleeves were still ripped, oddly enough) ended just above her belly button. She was very attractive, to be honest. She looked like a sort of tribal dancer, that also happened to be a dangerous, murderous demon. The girl's long black lashes parted, and she blinked, looking around. Sparkling grey eyes; a demonic pupil, but they really resembled Electra's eyes... "Mmmmrrrrrr," the girl sighed, arching her back and stretching. She smiled a little. "Happy birthday to me...I think. This counts as a birthday, doesn't it Ezekial?" She then glanced over, and her small smile faded at his expression. She looked hurt. "...Oh. Before you ask...my name is Greyscale. But I'd rather you just called me Grey." (( After you read this, tell me what you think! )) |

Ezekial couldn't believe his eyes. A few seconds ago, he had just been watching Electra take on Raven by herself, but now, only moments later, there was a completely different being in their place. She still looked like a demon, but there was just enough that it seemed that Electra was a part of this... thing as well. "Mmmmrrrrrr," the girl sighed, arching her back and stretching. She smiled a little. "Happy birthday to me...I think. This counts as a birthday, doesn't it Ezekial?" "A birthday?" Then he was right. This couldn't be just Raven or Electra, but some sick product from the two. With his breath finally returning to him, he stood, contemplating this mess. "Who-?" She then glanced over, and her small smile faded at his expression. She looked hurt. "...Oh. Before you ask...my name is Greyscale. But I'd rather you just called me Grey." "Grey, huh..." Great. Now he couldn't tell who's side she was on, as if a hotel infested with demons wasn't enough. There was the question of how exactly could this happen, but that could wait until later. "Tell me," he asked, "What are you?" |

"Oh. Well, ah...wow. That is a really hard question. Shoot." Grey sighed, playing with her bangs a little before looking back towards Ezekial. "Um...okay. I'll say this first. It's really weird. I want to say "I" when I explain, but really I'm two people in one--Electra and Raven--and they're both in my mind. I mean, on one hand, Raven obviously wants you dead, but Electra's your friend, so...y'know...I figured that made us friends? Maybe? Anyways...I'm a mix of the two. Hopefully of their best traits...wait. I haven't attacked you or eaten you or anything. That means I am made up of their best traits! Great! So, neither are really in control, which means I'm somebody new. Did they strike a deal or something...? Wow. For everything being so insane, I feel surprisingly sane. And I...um...oh gosh...I haven't really answered your question yet. Sorry..." The girl laughed nervously, but her laughter died on her lips when she saw the wolf's expression. She winced and looked away, obviously unnerved. "Um...I'm a demon-cyborg hybrid...I think. The nanites fled Electra's body after she released all of the electricity inside her. They're programmed to survive, after all...after mixing with the demonic, they mutated in order to live inside a new host--me. I'm not sure why...I don't know. This is crazy..." The girl sighed, walking over to Electra's "dead" body. She knelt by it, looking mournful. There was a moment of silence; then, she looked up at Ezekial, her voice small. "Do...do you think we can bury her...?" (( Pffffft. I'm purposely avoiding writing for Electra and Raven at the moment. ^^; )) |

Ezekial's expression softened. Maybe this Grey wasn't as bad as she might have been. She was even grieving over Electra's now empty body. It was hard not to feel bad for her. He stood up, finally recovering, and walked over to Electra's body himself. Grey was right, they couldn't just leave her there for the demons to devour. Then again, they couldn't expect to go outside to bury her there or anywhere in the hotel. There was only one thing Ezekial could consider to help. He placed his hand on to Grey's shoulder. "I think I know something I can do. Just step back." Ezekial stepped forward and placed Electra's hands on her sides. He never expected her to go like this, and with hardly a chance to say goodbye, or even get to know who she really was at all. Then again, was this goodbye at all? I didn't get her killed, he had to remind himself, She's still alive somehow. Maybe something good will come out of this His hands flared with blue frost fire once more, and a thick sheet of ice began to crawl up from the ground. The ice swam across the empty body, covering her from head to toe until she was completely encased in ice. It was as if she was trapped inside of a clear blue crystal. Ezekial lifted himself off of the ground. He knew there was still much to be done in the hotel, so much danger to watch out for, and it all just left almost no time to breath. They had to keep moving, no matter what. "Tell me," he asked Grey, "What are you going to do now?" |

Grey blinked, looking up from the makeshift tomb. "Huh? Oh...hang out with you, I guess. You're the only nice one here. Thank you for doing that, by the way. It's...fitting." The hedgecat girl sighed, playing with her hair again. That is, until her stomach gave a little rumble. Grey then blushed heavily (her blood being a sort of black-midnight blue hue), wrapping her arms around her stomach self-consciously. "...Aha...right. And maybe find something to eat? I really, really want some fresh vegetables and pasta. But...I don't think I'll find that here. That's too bad." The girl smiled again before walking over to the door. Despite all that had transpired, she was quickly resuming a cheerful and upbeat nature. "C'mon Ezekial! Don't be a slowpoke! I don't want to lose you...okay?" |

Ezekial returned the smile. "Okay then," he decided, "We'll stick together." Still, his thoughts worried him. How come this came out of Raven and Electra's fight? What had become of the two of them inside of Greyscale? and what would Grey ultimately become? These worries could wait however, they had to find a way out of this, and the only way left to go was up. "C'mon," he said to Grey, quickly passing her, "Let's head up to the top and see if we can find a way out there." |

Grey skipped up to walk by Ezekial's side, humming softly. "Oooohhhh...you know what? I can probably shapeshift now! You know that means? I can probably grow a pair of wings and fly! Gosh, that's so cool! I've always wanted to fly. It just seems like fun. I hope I can make them look like some sort of wicked demon-dragon wings. That'd be awesome! Badass even!" The girl finished with a soft laugh, obviously excited. She switched her gaze to the wolf. "You know, Ezekial, I still don't know much about you. Either that, or I don't remember. Maybe both. And since we seem to have time...wanna talk about it?" |

Ezekial coughed. He never liked telling people about his past. It always led to some strange misunderstanding about him being the anti-christ or something, and that wasn't even close to the truth. Maybe if he only told about a little bit of his past, Elec- Grey wouldn't be so curious as to ask for too much. "Well, I guess I could talk for a little bit." Ezekial said with an uneasy smile. He wasn't very good at keeping a straight face either. "I'm sort of a demon hunter. Not exactly a demon hunter, but it comes up a lot actually." This wasn't going well at all. He'd have to change the subject before he ended up giving away too much. "So what about you?" he decided to ask, "You must have some sort of plan for when we get out of here." |

The hedgecat girl stared at Ezekial for a long while before pouncing on him, growling playfully. Unfortunately, she was too lightweight to knock him down. So, she settled with placing her chin on the top of his head, wrapping her arms around his neck, and having her legs wrapped around his chest. "Ooooooookaaaaaaay...like that wasn't completely vague. Also, you have a terrible poker face. What are you hiding, Ezekial Wolffe?" Luckily for the wolf, Grey wasn't a pushy person. She brightened up immediately, her eyes sparkling. "I'm going to get some food!!! Like pasta and those exquisite foreign cuisines. I also want to learn how to master my shape-shifting ability and use it to fly and other things. That's gonna be fun! And I figured since I don't like being lonely and we're friends and you have a better chance of keeping me in line most of the time, I could just travel with you. And if you're not okay with that, I'll just stalk you. Heehee!" The girl stuck out her tongue happily, rather enjoying this "adventure." It seemed that Grey was just naturally happy and upbeat--albeit a bit silly at times. |

"Whoah-" Ezekial stumbled a bit when Grey latched on to his back, but continued walking. She was really excitable, and she was right; his poker face was terrible. "I'm going to get some food!!!" Grey said, "Like pasta and those exquisite foreign cuisines. I also want to learn how to master my shape-shifting ability and use it to fly and other things. That's gonna be fun! And I figured since I don't like being lonely and we're friends and you have a better chance of keeping me in line most of the time, I could just travel with you. And if you're not okay with that, I'll just stalk you. Heehee!" Ezekial chuckled. "I guess I'm stuck with you. First things first: we have to get out. Lucifer's powerful, but he doesn't have real power in this realm. My best guess is that someone or something in this hotel is keeping us from escaping. When we find that, we can free ourselves." |

Grey grew quiet, trying to think of something. If it wasn't because of supernatural causes...then maybe... "Maybe it's something digital..." the girl mused aloud. She blinked, looking straight ahead again. "Remember earlier? In the kitchen? Electra heard a voice in her head. But not just a voice; someone was trying to override her nanos and shut down her mind. So...maybe there's someone here. Someone who orchestrated all of this 'ghostly' tricks and attacks. Oh--right. Another thing. If you see a little kid chinchilla boy named Cozen, don't trust him. I had a feeling he was tricking Electra earlier. And he vanished just as she started to fight with Raven. Or maybe just before that. Either way, he's not what he seems. I just wish I knew what he really was..." The hedgecat girl sighed softly before rubbing her head. Her ears feel forward and slight confusion filled her eyes as she grew quiet once more. |

Could that guy be the key to their freedom as well? Then again, if it is another player in this death game, then they might not be trustworthy either. After all, something almost killed him in that arcade room. Ezekial was just going to mention this when Electra spoke once more. "Oh--right. Another thing. If you see a little kid chinchilla boy named Cozen, don't trust him." Cozen!? "I had a feeling he was tricking Electra earlier. And he vanished just as she started to fight with Raven. Or maybe just before that. Either way, he's not what he seems. I just wish I knew what he really was..." "Wait a minute, did you say Cozen was here!?" If he was here, then the odds of them getting out at all, let alone getting out alive, wasn't very good. He marched forward with an even greater sense of urgency than before, oblivious to the weight on his back. "We need to keep moving. Keep an eye out for anything that might seem out of place." |
