(Not taking any members for this fanfic, however I'm accepting rp spin-offs. pm me if you want to do rp spin-off.) Sonic Blast, a world that monitors other worlds, more specifically, the world of Sonic the Hedgehog. There are many realms in Sonic Blast, many places to venture through, tons of doors and routes to take, the shack being the most unorthodox place of all. However, there is a place in Sonic Blast that is beyond the mind of the Emperor himself... Its called the labyrinth of Madness... No one knows about it, as it is overlooked countless of times. Its in the South Island Library, hidden from all yet easily accessed by anyone. Ignoring something doesn't make it go away. Ignoring something makes it mad instead of decay. And when it arises, you'll wish your attention was used to pay... Because the price of madness, is equal to your broken spirit... Breaking again and again... Chapter 1: Openly Closed "Alright, just about finished with my rounds in the South Island Library." Taylor, or rather, Rabid as his character Taylor, held his finger to a ear piece as he spoke. Surrounding him was a massive hallway, something you'd see in a castle. The ceiling was two hundred feet tall. His footsteps echoed ever so slightly. If he didn't know any better, he would of sworn he was being followed. Perhaps it is safe to say that the only thing following him, was his shadow and the echoes. "I'm getting something odd on our scanner. Its not too far from your location." "Yeah, I see it on my scanner too. One problem though..." He paused for a moment as he stopped walking and checked the yellow and black device in his hand. "There aren't any more doors around here... Not for a few feet anyways..." Upon finishing his sentence he looked around. These walls were high, so he wouldn't be surprised if something was hiding in them. Beep, beep. Rabid quickly looked at his watch. Oddly enough he didn't noticed he had one until now. He forgot that he only took this 'standard issued' watch whenever he did his rounds. The odd thing about it beeping, was that the time read 3:33. A light caught his attention from his right. There was a crack in the wall. "Huh..." He uttered to himself. Before moving towards this crack in the wall, he blinked a few times as he noticed the crack was getting bigger. He watched in slight amazement as the crack in the wall turned out to be a door. The door lead into a dark abyss. The more he stared into the darkness, the more it seemed he was being engulfed by it. It was like the pitch black room was moving towards him while he stood in his place. Before he knew it, he was surrounded by darkness, still peering into the dark void. "Gah!" He snaps out of his trance like state and spun around. The large hallway was gone. There was nothing but darkness in his sight, yet he could still see his own two hands in front of him. "Haha, ha!" Rabid spun around again, hearing a voice that echoed all over the place. The origin of the voice was hard to pin point as the echoes continued to bounce around, and multiple as well. Finally the voice was silenced as Rabid grabbed his rifle and swung it around to his front. He cautiously looked around, stepping slowly and calmly as his eyes scanned the nothingness that was before him. Suddenly a loud shattering sound forced the human to pivot to his left and aim, ready to pull the trigger and down any threats. His eyes only caught a blue blur, bashing through what appeared to be the ground. Lights and colors flooded in, literally in fact. The pitch black abyss was now being filled and colored, as if a painter was crafting a world simply by splashing paint all over the place, and allowing the paint itself to form this world. As this new world was being formed, Rabid quickly recognized where he was. "... Green Hill Zone...." Upon speaking this the world was completed, and more could be seen in the horizon. Before the human could take a step forward, the ground began to shake, knocking him to his knees as he tried to stay off the ground. A large egg-shaped mecha burst from the ground, towering over the human as it stomped it's robotic foot to intimidate all that was before it. "You got to be kidding..." He scoffed, narrowing his eyes as he took aim and popped back onto his feet. "Taylor... Cover me, you're no good in head on fights..." A female voice spoke to him. His eyes widen as he looked to his left to see who it was. "Saber!? But... You're not... Real..." His mind was confused as he looked at the young female. She wore a tight cloth around her chest, and armored leg pieces that have wheel-like boots attached to them. Although his persona was Taylor, he was still Rabid, the creator and owner of Taylor. So why would he be seeing another person's character he RPed with next to him? "Can you hear me Rabid! Please respond! Damn it!! Send Fenroar over to his last location... No one just falls off the map like that..." "Come in base! Come in! I'm right-" "Move!!" Saber shouts, but suddenly he was tackled out of them way. The robot's heavy foot smashed into the ground where Rabid once stood. The human was at a lost for words as he looked up to see a blue hedgehog standing next to him, offering his hand to help the human to his feet. "Heh! Close one, huh? Sonic's the name, and-" "Speed's my game... I know... We've met before..." Rabid paused for a moment, thinking about the words he just said. He has never met the blue blur, not once in his life time. But perhaps, Taylor has... If that is the case then, who is he really? Is he Rabid, the SB member who enjoys RPing with other members of SB, or is he truly Taylor, his own creation. "Well um, nice to meet you again! Now come on, I could use your hand here." Sonic tells him, smiling his signature smile as he grabbed Rabid's hand and helped him to his feet. He looked over towards Saber, only to find that she wasn't there. This confused him a bit, but only for a moment as he had more pressing matters to worry about. Looking back at Sonic, Rabid noticed something odd. For a moment, Sonic's right eye became a solid green color as his face twitched a few times. Then, as if a computer was glitching, the twitching stopped and Sonic's face returned to normal. The human raised his eye brow a little, unsure if he hit his head and was seeing things, or if what he just saw was real. "Ready!?" Sonic asked with excitement. Rabid took a moment before answering. He slowly nodded his head, then fixed his attention on the mecha before them... "Who am I... Creator, or character... Even though the logical answer smacks me in the face, I can't be both... Chapter 2: Kamelot tol-e-maC "What the..." Fenroar mumbled to himself as he finally reached the South Island Library. His eyes were in amazement as he gazed upon a large castle like structure before him. The only reason Fenroar was a bit amazed, was because this wasn't the castle he was use to seeing. Parts of the castle were floating while some of it was upside down, even laying horizontally. It looked like the castle was a transformer, and was in the process of turning into a robotic being when it decided to stop mid way. His eye brow raised a bit as he could of sworn that some of the buildings of the castle formed two haunting eyes, peering into his very soul. It was creepy, to say the least, but not scary. "I've reached the Island... Or what use to be the Island..." "Good. Rabid was last seen on our radar north-south of your position." Fenroar's expression displayed confusion. He tilted his head a bit, wondering if he heard that correctly. Not the mention it sounded like a completely different voice jumped in when the words 'north-south' was spoken. "Could you repeat that..." He asked, waiting for a reply. Concern slowly swept over his head as he waited for an answer. There was nothing but static, which was odd because there shouldn't be any static coming through his ear piece if no one was talking to him. "I repeat, you're going to be heading north-east of your position." "Right... I'm on my way..." He replied, not sure what was going on anymore. This place felt weird, and nothing about it at all sat well with him. Either way, he proceeded to Rabid's last location... Several minutes later Fenroar find himself walking down same hallway Rabid was in before he vanished. His footsteps echoed, loudly at that. At first he thought it was the height of the hallway causing the loudness of each step. However, when he stopped moving, the sound of his footsteps continued. He slowly placed his hand on the rapier-looking hilt of his sword. His eyes shifted from left to right, trying to see which side this person was approaching him from. He wanted to wait until they got closer, so spinning around wouldn't scary them off if they were a threat. His plan was nullified as the footsteps stopped. There was nothing but silence, which caused for more caution than before. Crash! A large part of the wall to his right shatter like glass, revealing a world within the wall. Fenroar dove to the ground, not sure what would make a huge chunk of the wall explode like that. The sound of metal being twisted and turn caused him to raise his head up and watch a egg-shaped mecha crash onto the floor and slide several feet in front of him. What happened next shocked Fenroar completely, thinking that this had to be come kind of dream. The world within the wall was gushing into the hallway, like someone punctured their flesh and blood was spraying all over the place. However, instead of flesh it was a wall, and instead of blood it was pieces of a world he slowly started to recognize. "Nice shot!" A voice called from the hole in the wall. Standing in a heroic-like stance was a blue hedgehog, non-other than Sonic the Hedgehog. A human dropped down next to him, making sure not to fall off the ridged part of the crater that was formed. "Rabid!?" "Another one bits the dust! Another one swallowed by mush! Eaten by the insanity of a great calamity! Another one lies to trust!" Fenroar winced a bit as the voice blared in his ear. He was about to yank out his ear piece and throw it halfway across the changing hallway. He paused for a moment, trying to make sense of what he just heard. "Fenroar?" Rabid's voice called to him as the human dropped down and lands a foot or two in front of him. Sonic soon joined the human and smiles as a greeting. "Hey hey! Whats up!?" Fenroar only blinked a few times, lifting his finger a bit as he slightly pointed to sonic, looking at Rabid with a confused face on. He didn't need to say anything, his expression said enough. "I'll explain later... To the best of my knowledge at least..." "Whoa! Check it out! This place is taking over everything!" Sonic informs them, a bit excited by this sight. The two humans acknowledged the event, but both of them didn't understand it. "Did you see Pianta yet?" Rabid asked, to which Fenroar paused for a moment as he helped himself up off the floor. "Pianta? She's here?" He asked, to which Rabid simply nods his head and pointed to the hole in the wall that was now blended in with their current scenery, which was still Green Hill Zone. "Yeah... My rifle is strong, but not strong enough to rocket a giant mecha through a wall." Fenroar only blinked once as a reply. He didn't think Pianta would capable of doing so much damage like that. "Huh... I knew she is strong willed, didn't think she was an animal though." "So... I'm an animal now, huh?" Pianta's force swirled around Fenroar as his eyes widen a bit. He completely forgot she could read minds. Its unclear to him if she herself does it, or its involuntary. Fenroar slowly turned around, smiling nervously as he shrugged a bit. "Well... I-if the the shoe fits...?" Pianta's already un-amused face turned into a angry sour one. She bawled up her fist, reached back, and rocket launched her fist to his face. Poor Fenroar didn't even have time to react as the curtains of darkness dropped upon him. However, with the covering of darkness came something unexpected. "Whoa!! No way!" Sonic exclaimed, wide eyed along with Rabid as the two stared at Pianta, who was also shocked by what just happened. "Did... Did I just..." She starts off, disbelieving the action that took place. "You punched him into nothingness..." Rabid confirmed it, yet all three of them still couldn't believe it. "Do you think he's really gone though?" Sonic asked, taking a few steps to where Fenroar once was, waving his hand over the spot to see if something would happen. "I doubt it... If anything, that wasn't really Fenroar. He was sent here five hours ago before I was dispatched to find you and him. Apparently they were receiving static from his comm-link, so they figured he was still alive somewhere... Otherwise they wouldn't have sent me..." Even with her own explanation she couldn't shake the feeling that Fenroar was somewhere far worse than here. "Come on... We'll catch up with him eventually." Rabid tells them, swinging his rifle to his back as he started a steady paced walk. Pianta and Sonic joined him too, yet Pianta was the only one to take one more look back a where Fenroar once stood. "Where are you... You can't be nowhere. Even nowhere is somewhere... But somewhere could be anywhere... The only place you can't be is everywhere... That would be madness..." ----------------------- "Hello? Hellooooo..." A voice called to Fenroar, waking him up slowly as she sat up. It was like he just blinked and appeared in this place. Which he started to ask himself that faithful question. "Where am I?" Not meaning to direct his question to anyone, an old man was next to him, some kind of merchant is seems. "As I'm sure you can see, I am a merchant," The old man replied, no answering his question of course. "I sell a bunch of wares, and some I just want to give away-" "Like that sword..." Fenroar interjects, pointing to a sword that looked very similar to his own, or rather his character's sword. The old man smiles, however for a few seconds his right eye turned solid green as his face twitched a few times. It returned to normal after a few quick seconds. Having caught this, Fenroar was more concerned about this encounter in general, not so much the twitching of madness this man was displaying. "Oh... Oh its you! My, my, you've changed a bit." The old man tells him, to which Fenroar crossed his arms and raised his eye brow with a smirk. "Really? How so?" "Simple... You're not you..." With that said the old man's eyes turn solid green again as a crazed-like smile slowly crept from cheek to cheek. Fenroar's relaxed posture became one of hostility the more he looked at the old man. His attention was quickly snatched away by trumpets blaring behind him. He spun around to see what the commotion was about. His eyes laid upon an armor, marching onward and passing him by, ignoring his very presence. They were clad in yellow and green armor, light in weight for easy mobility when fighting. Towards the back were more men, clad in different armor that that was more heavy weight for hard hitting. Around them were archers, their bows varying from different shapes and styles. Some of the men were on horses while most of them walked. "Onward men!! Kamelot will not be made a fool of!" A female voice roared, causing the armor to cheer a short battle cry. Fenroar looked towards the speaker, feeling as if he had heard this voice before. Once he spotted the female his jaw hung open in shock. "K-Kammy!? Is that Kammy!!" He shouts, wanting to smile because he found a familiar face, yet confusion overwhelmed him. Once she heard her name she looked around, only to spot her caller and light up with glee as she waved frantically. "Fenroooooooar!!" She shouts, her voice was soft and more gentle then before. She quickly hopped off her horse and raced towards Fenroar as her men parted the way for her. She nearly tackled him as she gave him a strong and warm hug. "Kammy! Its good to see you but, what is going on here?" He asked, letting go of her after their quick hug. She simply smiled with glee and nods her head. "I'm leading my army to conquer the evil knights! I'm the lord and queen of Castle Kamelot, isn't that cool!" "My lady. I suggest you don't run off like that again. No one can be trusted, no matter how well you know them. The Madness can infect anyone." A black hedgehog wearing pieces of armor walked to her side. Kammy smiles and nods her head to confirm this. "Its alright, I trust him." She she comments back, to which the hedgehog placed his hand on the hilt of his sword. "Well I don't..." He replies, glaring at Fenroar through his helmet. Fenroar only returned the glare back, forgetting about the madness of this event for a moment. Placing his hand on his own hilt, the two of them stared each other down, waiting to see if the other would attack first... Edited by L Dragon, Dec 25 2012, 11:04 AM.

Thanks guys, here be the next installment!! x3 Chapter 3: Found Lost "Hey, hey! Look at that castle!" Sonic shouts, waving over Rabid and Pianta. The two humans casually joined Sonic, something the blue blur wasn't use to doing, slowing down and actually walking. Once the trio reached the top of the hill they marveled at a beautiful castle. Rabid recognized the symbols on the castle, tilting his head a bit as he spoke. "I guess we're in Soleanna now..." He informs them to which the hedgehog placed his hand to his chin to think for a moment. "Huh... Sounds familiar... Have I been here before?" "Of course you have... We all have at one point." Pianta interjected as she crossed her arms and looked at the castle a bit more, trying to find a way to get in. Why were they trying to get in was beyond her. It just seemed like something was drawing her, drawing them, to the castle. "The entrance is over there... Be cautious though, I'm not sure if we'll get a warm welcome here." Sonic smirked at Rabid's comment. He gave them a thumbs up and winked as he spoke. "No worries! I'll go take a look first and see what we're up against." As Rabid went to motion against this plan, a metal-like knight dropped down in front of Sonic. The hedgehog was about to take off when he suddenly leaped back and got into his fighting stance. Suddenly more metal knights dropped down and surrounded the trio as they unsheathed their swords. Rabid swung his rifle in front of him while Sonic smirked with excitement. Pianta on the other hand paused for a moment, as if she was trying to read their thoughts... Nothing, she got nothing from these knights, which drew much concern. "They're not human, but robots... Either that, or they're the walking dead..." With that said, Pianta charged a purple and pink sphere in her hand, which suddenly formed into a sword. The blade was thick, wide as well. It had several symbols on it, and no hilt as it floated just above her knuckles. The metal knights seemed to react when Pianta drew her weapon. They sheathed their own swords and bowed on one knee. The trio were shocked at this. "Thats it..." A voice spoke from behind one of the robots. It was a young girl with red short hair, clad in tightly fitted red and white armor, with a bit of yellow mixed along the trimming. "Elise!?" Sonic spoke up, taking a step towards her as to confirm what his eyes were seeing. The other two humans looked at the hedgehog, having the same thought as each, which was a question they themselves couldn't understand. How did the hedgehog know who Elise was? According to the events of the blue blur, he shouldn't know who this girl is at all. "How... Do you know my name-" "He can answer that later. We need to speak with the ruler of your castle." Pianta interrupted. Elise dropped her head slowly as she slightly turned away. "You can't... They're dead... The Knights of the Round Table killed them for betraying their kingdom... They couldn't understand that they were never from that kingdom. They just wanted someone to blame, someone to kill in order to satisfy their blood lust." Her eyes were filled with rage, anger, and sadness. However, her fury overwhelmed her sorrow and pity. The other two seemed confused by her words. Even Sonic was at a lost for words. "I'm not sure I, or rather we, understand what you're talking about. Who was the king of this castle?" Rabid asked with his eye brow raised. There was a long uncomfortable paused before Elise decided to speak. "It was King Arthur... He was a noble and great man with a wife and two children. They were great friends of mine, family even... He married a vixen to make piece between another kingdom, merging the two kingdoms to become Soleanna. His son vanished one night, and his daughter ran away several days later." "Please, if you can... What are the names of the two kids..." Pianta asked rather quickly. Once again she took a bit of time to reply, swallowing deeply to hold back her tears. "His son was Taylor, and his daughter was Kamula." Rabid's eyes widen as his heart pound loudly within his chest. His body felt completely cold as he started to shiver ever so slightly. Pianta only stared upon Rabid, wide eyed and very much confused by her answer. "But... I'm Taylor... I mean, I'm not Taylor... I'm-" "You are you but you're not me so who are you if you're not he!" Rabid winced in pain as a voice in his ear piece screamed into his head. He quickly took the ear piece out and looked at it, trying to keep it steady in his shaky hand. "Taylor...?" Elise called to him, to which Rabid lifted his head to her in a slight panic. "You are Taylor... You're King Arthur's son." She tells him, causing Rabid to take a step back for a moment as he lightly shook his head no. "I... I can't be... I know who I am, and I'm not my own character... I have to be me... But, who exactly am I?." He thought to himself, trying to convince himself that he was in fact himself. The question was, who was he? "Rabid... Just go with it for now. We'll square this away later-" "Are... You his wife?" "What!?" Pianta quickly snapped, causing Elise to flinch back a bit as she stared into Pianta's rage filled eyes. She was afraid to even open her mouth to speak, but she swallowed her fear and spoke anyways. "I-It was said that should the son of Arthur return, he would return with a wife, who wields the lost weapon of the kingdom that use to be... Soul Calibur... Your sword... That is the ancient sword of the kingdom that use to be..." She tells them, to which Pianta squinted her eyes as she finished speaking. Finally Pianta shrugged her shoulders as she closed her eyes dismissively. "I can deal with that... But I'm not hitched with Rabid, we clear?" She states, to which the young girl slowly nods her head, still a bit frighten as she eased her tensed body a bit. "Well! Looks like we're all reunited. Lets go for some lunch!" Sonic states, killing the mood and tension that was present. At least, that was his goal until Elise looked at him with a bit of worry. "Is he your friend? The Knights of the Round Table are looking for him. They seek to end his life." Pianta looked towards Rabid, expecting him to ask a question or two like he would normally do. However, it seemed the guy was still battling the madness in his own mind. Rolling her eyes and sighing, she asked the obvious question. "Who are the knights of the round table...? Actually, who is the ruler of our rivaling kingdom-" "Kammy..." Rabid interrupt, his eyes filled with solid anger, nothing more and nothing less. "She was patrolling the other side of the Library when I stumbled into this place... Now, it seems like this place is consuming everything since someone let it out of it's cage... Hopefully it will be contained within the walls of the Library." Pianta smirked a bit, seeing Rabid have his wits about him was a good thing, less work she needed to do. "And for the record, I'm not King Arthur's son, and Kammy is not my sister... I am Rabid, so address me as such." He ordered as he sternly looked upon Elise. She simply nods her head to confirm as she kept her slightly frighten eyes upon Rabid. That was until an arrow dropped from the sky like a lighting-bolt, missing Sonic completely as he was too fast and dodged it just in time. "Whoa-ho! Looks like the party just started!" He states, pointing off into the distance. Kamelot's arm was in the horizon, moving towards them at a steady pace. "No!!" Elise shouts, taking several steps forward to get a better view. "We can hit them hard once we get inside the walls of the castle." Rabid suggested, but he was quickly turned down as Elise shook her head frantically. "No! They're not coming towards our kingdom! They're heading for the tower! Its between the two kingdoms, separating the two kingdoms while protecting us from each other! However, that only implies if the tower is still there!" "What the HELL are you talking about, lady!" Pianta interrupts, trying to make her get to the point. "Excalibur!! The tower holds the mighty power of Excalibur! Whoever holds Excalibur within their hands will give great strength to either side, forcing the tower to fall! But only those with the strength of it's sibling swords can be able to wield Excalibur's turn power!" "Sibling swords? You mean Pianta's sword, Soul Calibur." Rabid comments, to which Elise shakes her head yes as she turns around. "Excalibur has two siblings though. Soul Calibur and Edge Calibur, also known as Soul Edge. Kamelot must of found someone who wields Edge Calibur. We must hurry to the tower!" "Alright! I'm on my way-" "Hold it, Sonic... I have a better idea. I think I know where this story is going. Elise, gather your army... We're going to have ourselves a war." Rabid tells them, narrowing his eyes upon Kamelot's army. He turned to his left and spots the massive tower she had mentioned. "Rabid... You do realize what this means, right...? We're going to be fighting against Kammy..." Pianta tells him, joining his side as she looked at the tower as well. "I know... This whole situation is madness... But we have no other choice... We fight for our sanity... For ours, and theirs..." He tells her, formulating his plan in his head to make sure everything would go smoothly. Pianta nods her head, and with a final look at Kamelot's army, the both of them join Sonic and Elise, along with the metal knights, and head off to the castle. ----------------------- Before the march to Excalibur Tower... "Heh! Tough guy, huh? Think you can take on the Knights of the Round Table?" A green hawk taunted, joining the black hedgehog's side that Fenroar was about the fight. Kammy just looked at everyone, smiling nervously as she didn't know if they were going to fight or not. "Kamelot... Permission to strike down this-" "Denied!" Kammy replied cheerfully, cutting off the black hedgehog from finishing his sentence. He looked upon Kammy when she replied, glaring through his knight-like helmet as she continued to smile warmly, carefree. Fenroar kept his focus on the black hedgehog, to which he gripped his hilt even tighter when Kammy told him not to attack. "Its alright... I promise I wont kill him..." The black hedgehog quickly unsheathed his sword and dropped into his fighting stance. "What did you say..." The hedgehog comments, ready to strike should the human repeat his statement. Fenroar slowly and calmly unsheathed his sword, taking his stance as he did so. His eyes fixed on his foe as he brought his sword up and pointed it towards the hedgehog. It was at this point that the hedgehog and the hawk took a step back, frightened it would seem. Fenroar was a bit shocked at their reaction. He couldn't understand what frighten them. "Huh... You guys suuuure know how to end a fight... Some protectors you are." Kammy states, a bit disappointed that they backed down. The two of them looked at Kammy for a moment, wondering if she had forgotten about the myth. "My lord..." Another voice interjected. A silver hedgehog walked to Kammy's side, mounted on a horse. "That weapon he holds... It is the sibling sword of Excalibur... Edge Calibur..." He explains, to which Kammy's expression didn't change at first. And then, a twisted and evil-like smile crept from cheek to cheek. "Ooooooh... So HE is the Soul Edge wielder... Hmmmm..." She comments, smiling a evil grin as she batted her eyes at Fenroar. "Know what this means, Fenroar my dear?" She asked, to which the human only stared at her with a bit of fright in his eyes. He has never seen Kammy act like this before. It was creeping him out. "Um... no-" "It means we're gonna get married and have lots of babies!!" She shouts, leaping for joy and cheering loudly. She lands in front of Fenroar and nearly tackles him with a powerful hug, squeezing the life out of him. "Yaaaaaay!! Aren't you happy Fenny!" She shouts, causing him to wince in more pain from her shouting in his ear. After struggling for a few moments to peel her off of him, he sighs as she smiles at him with the biggest smile she could ever display. "I think she's infected with this madness thing you mentioned." Fenroared commented, joking of course, as he had no idea what the hedgehog was talking about before hand. "Doubtful... The Madness is not what you think it is... Its a energy source, not a mental issue... It corrupts the soul and eats away at your very being... You don't notice it until you start to feel it crawling within you. Even then you wont lose it, not until the very last moment when your last few breaths are near. It is then that you deify all manner of sanity, and evaporate into nothingness..." The silver hedgehog explains. Fenroar only raised his eye brow a bit, still not understanding a word he just staid. It sounded like someone made it up to strike fear into others. He simply shrugged it off as he looked back at Kammy, who was still beaming her pretty smile at him and wagging her tail gently behind her. "I don't believe my Lord has introduced us... I am Sir Galahad. The black hedgehog is Sir Lancelot, and the hawk is Sir Lamorak... And you are?" "Fenroar... Sir, Fenroar... I guess..." He tells them, not really sure why he put the 'sir' before his name. Either way, it sounded good to him. "My lord, what are your orders-" "We go to war!! That blue hedgehog must be destroyed!" Kammy shouts, raising her fist to the air as she shouted a quick battler cry, to which her army did the same. "Wait... Blue hedgehog? Do you mean Sonic?" Fenroar asked, wondering if they were talking about the same person. From the looks of it, who else could they be thinking of? "Sonic... So that is the name of the Calamity Trigger..." Sir Galahad comments, to which Fenroar tilted his head in confusion. "Calamity Trigger?" "Yes, the Calamity Trigger. The one responsible for the death of our previous lord, and the one who unleashed a terrible curse upon this land... Sednams-" "Enough talk! To war we go!" Kammy shouts with excitement. She races over to her horse and leaps on it, raising her queen's staff in the air she motioned it forward to start their march. Sir Galahad quickly rushed and got Fenroar and horse while Lancelot and Lamorak took their position. Once he got onto the horse Fenroar caught up to Kammy and voiced his thoughts on attacking a castle. "Is it really wise to attack a castle? I know first hand that sending a small group and sneaking in is the best way to take down a castle..." He paused for a moment. Where did this idea come from? He himself has never done this. His character however, his current persona, has though. He started to think why he believed this was so real to him. He could remember every detail about this event, even though its not his own. Or perhaps it was. He was about to go down a long train of thoughts, but luckily Kammy snapped him out of it. "We're not going to their castle. We're going to Excalibur's Tower... Only those who can posses the power of either sword, Soul Calibur or Edge Calibur, can harness the true power of Excalibur... You have the power of Edge Calibur... And you're going to help me stop this calamity from happening... Oh, and that wasn't a request." Her eyes were stern, filled with determination and power, it frightened Fenroar. What frightened him even more, was telling her that Sonic was last seen with Rabid and Pianta. And the most fearful thought of all, was that Kammy wouldn't care. He seen this look on her face before, and the result wasn't good. "Don't worry... Rabid and Pianta wont be harmed... That is why you're here, to make sure of that." She tells him, to which he smiles at her comment, and smiles even more upon seeing her smirk and wink at him. Even so, he didn't like the thought of going against the other two. He had a feeling things were about to get worse... Much worse... |

Well. This is getting progressively more disturbing. I'm sure you've got things planned out, but might I suggest the Savage-Hyneman solution? (Instead of doing it right, do it spectacularly wrong. xP) 'Cuz how I see it... well, whatever entity is responsible has set the rules of engagement. I'd play along to the critical moment, then throw those rules out the window. But that's just me. |

Finally got around to read this. Boy do I love it. Life questions between creator and character. Pretty great idea, plus the use of Sonic 06, Sonic Black Knight and a fantasy setting. Can't wait for more chapters.

I'd actually been meaning to comment on that one aspect. I've never actually seen a meta-fic like this use the Doyle/Watson dichotomy as a plot point. (For explanation, it comes from Sherlock Holmes. Doyle's the IRL writer of the stories, Watson is the IC writer/narrator. The more you know.) |

Haha, just a side note to everyone, this story is suppose to be a bit disturbing and well... Crazy. Other wise the title would just be for nothing. xD As for the character vs creator thing, didn't know that about Sherlock. Interesting. Anyways, next chapter. (I'll fix any mistakes later/soon) Chapter 4: Reaper What You Soul There... Standing two hundred feet high was the Tower of Excalibur. It was circular, and had a spiral effect the closer you got to it. The width of it was three hundred feet wide. No doubt, it was massive in size. It had a silver tint to it, glossed with some black metal and dark brown wood. The stones that made up the majority of the tower were an ivory color. On its left and right were the two opposing armies. They were marching towards each other, preparing for the big battle. On one side you had metal knights, and on the other you had human and anthro knights clad in armor. Both armies stopped at a fixed point, waiting for orders to charge into battle. There was a long silence as the tension thickened the air. Crows and vultures soared above, waiting to feast on the dead. "I'm not sure about this... Do you really think I'm the one?" Sonic asked, mounted on a horse next to Rabid. The human simply nods his head, focusing his eyes on the tower. "Like I said, this is my theory that ties into that old legend Elise mentioned. Its older than the two swords, but I'm sure it applies here." "Why else would the other army want you dead?" Pianta adds on to Rabid's speech. "Elise... Its time." Rabid interjects, not wanting to waste any time. She simply nods her head and made her way to the front of her army. She rode passed them and headed for the center mark of the tower. "My Lord! Princess Elise is approaching..." Galahad tells Kammy, to which she raised her eye brow and tilted her head. "Um... So...?" "You're suppose to go out and meet her, discuss terms or neglect them..." Fenroar explained, to which Kammy kept her puzzled look on for a moment. "Oh! Right... On my way!" She shouts with glee, smiling brightly as she hurried to meet Elise. After a few moments the two of them met in the middle, and started to talk. "Come on... We have a small window open-" "Screw this." Pianta states, and suddenly she roared her battle cry and charged forwards. With her command, the rest of the metal knights rushed forward, causing the ground to shake. Kammy started to hear the sound of thunder, but realized it was her opposing army advancing. A devilish grin popped onto her face as Elise turned around in shock. This wasn't the plan. She was confused and worried. If they were attacking then that meant... "Gaaah!!" Elise yelped, feeling cold steel pierce through her armor, rip through her flesh, and burst out of her back. Her eyes widen as she slowly turned her head towards Kammy. The vixen had leaped onto her horse and plunged her own sword into her, all in one flawless move. "Baaaaai Elise... Glad we had a little girl talk. Take care now!" With that said Kammy kicked the human off of her horse, watching as her blood gushed out once the sword was removed. The human flopped to the ground as Kammy grinned evilly. Taking her horse, Kammy started to take off back towards her army. Suddenly, the horse screeched in pain as it dropped to the ground. Kammy managed to leap off of it before it hit the ground. She rolled a bit then slid to her feet as she looked at her attacker. It was Elise, standing with anger burning through her eyes, and her wound was glowing white. "You of all people should know that my own weapon can do no harm to me..." Elise tells her, to which the vixen simply smiled cheerfully and nods. "I know, why else do you think I used your own sword instead of mine...? I mean, I don't have one to begin with but... You the get the picture." She states, then waves her hand by as she leaps onto her own horse and rode away. Elise was a bit confused at this point. She didn't mean to kill her? How strange of her to do such a thing. "Damn it!! Come on Sonic!" Rabid shouts, angered by Pianta's sudden change of plans. The two of them hurried off towards the tower while the rest of the army raced for the opposing army. "Charge!!" Fenroar shouts as he blots to the front of the line and unsheathed his sword. Once he did so, his sword started to glow. This has never happened before, not in this manner, but for some reason he ignored it. He could feel a strange power surging into him the closer he got the tower, the closer he got to his sibling sword wielder, Soul Cailbur. Pianta formed her sword as soon as she saw Fenroar take the lead of the other army. Just like Fenroar, her sword started to glow, yet she didn't mind it and welcomed this new power coursing through her body. She felt stronger, yet her only focus now was Edge Calibur. Her army, her rivaling army, not even the tower itself was present in her mind. Only Fenroaor and his sword. The calibur wielders were closing in on each other with their armies trailing behind them. The gap was closing fast, the tension was building higher, and the lust for power and blood poured out from every single soul. There was a suddenly silence as the two warriors were seven feet apart. Both of them leaped off of their horses and glided through the air. Their eyes locked and their sword's glow brightened the closer they got. Boom! The ground shook as a shock wave of energy burst from the two calibur wielders, causing a large puff of smoke to rise and cover the two of them. The armies continued to charge towards each other, not caring what became of their leaders. Another surge of energy roars out from the two of them, scattering the smoke and revealing the newly transformed calibur fighters. Fenroar resembled a creature called Nightmare. He had a long tail, one large clawed arm, and his body was made up of black rocks and red energy. In the center of his body was a large red orb that was partly exposed. Pianta had a similar transformation, only in female form. However, instead of a large claw she had a large shield, and instead of black rocks it appeared to be ice, or rocks that looked like ice. As well, blue energy coursed through her body, coming from a blue orb that was also a bit exposed. The two armies clashed, causing a great sound of metal clanging to echo through the skies. Fenroar and Pianta quickly engaged in combat, their swords clashing along with the orchestra of battle weapons. Kammy and Elise soon joined the battle, cutting down and killing the opposing knights. It was a blood and machine parts bath. Each time a metal knight was destroyed it would explode and release a furry animal of some kind. However, the Kamelot knights didn't stop their. They slaughtered the little animals, making sure they died along with their 'shells' they were released from. The scene was gruesome, as Elise paused for a moment after slaying a Kamelot knight, and looked around at the horror that fell upon them. Her eyes widen as the bloodshed rose by the second. Both armies were massive, and even though so many had died, these deaths did not even scratch the surface of either side becoming the victor. Suddenly, a loud roar from the tower shook the entire plain, causing everyone to stop and fix their attention on the tower. Even though the ground stopped shaking, the tower itself was falling apart. "We have to move faster! Before we both get crushed in here!" Sonic shouts to Rabid. The two of them were running through a hallway that lead to more spiral stairs. Within the hedgehog's hand was Excalibur, shining in all its glory. Before Rabid could shout back at Sonic, the loud roaring of a dragon shook the tower even more, causing the two of them to fall to the ground for a moment. "I can't move any faster! Super speed isn't my perk!" Rabid shouts back, picking himself off the floor and hurrying along with Sonic. The all black dragon bashed its head through the hallway and burst through the spiral stairs, chasing after them while roaring once more. "Heh! I can fix that problem. Now hang on!" Sonic shouts, grabbing Taylor's arm and smirking with excitement. "What!? Wait no! I-" "Here we GO!" Suddenly Sonic burst forth with speed, pulling Rabid along with him like he would normally do with Knuckles or Tails. The dragon picked up its speed once it saw they were getting away. However, it was causing so much destruction that the tower finally gave in and collapsed on it. Sonic and Rabid burst from the collapsing tower, soaring high through the air as the human yelled for dear life. The two of them touched down in the center of the battle field, the both of them rolling a bit before they slid to a halt. Sonic quickly got to his feet, while Rabid remained laying on the ground. The hedgehog was a bit concerned until the human moved his arm to help himself up. Sonic smiled, but only for a moment as Fenroar and Pianta drop down a few feet in front of Rabid, fixing their attention on Sonic as they noticed he was holding Excalibur. The hedgehog took his stance, narrowing his eyes upon them as he switched his attention from one to the other. "Enough is enough... No more games!" He shouts, and thrust the sword above his head towards the sky. A Beam of light roared from Excalibur, shooting towards the sky and parting the clouds above them. The gold light showered back down upon them, covering both armies and flooding outwardly as it expanded through the plain. Fenroar and Pianta were quickly returned to their normal selves, their transformations exploding as they dropped to their knees from weariness. Sonic smiled as Elise gazed upon him, a gold armor slowly fading into appearance upon the hedgehog as he continued to 'purify' the land.... "Ahhhhhh!!!!!" Suddenly everyone screamed in pain as a powerful force fell upon. Sonic dropped to his knees and the power of Excalibur was quickly flattened. The glowing flood of energy turned into normal water, making it seem like it recently rained. The two armies continued to grunt and moan as the pressure of this great energy weighed them down. It was like gravity decided to caused the area to weigh a ton. Some knights were face down, being completely crushed by this strong energy pressure, while some metal knights exploded and released different furry creatures. Within a matter of seconds the pressure was lifted, and everyone gasped for air as they looked around. They were all confused, and became even more confused as they saw a large double door stationed behind Sonic. It looked like large Japanese sliding doors. The doors slowly slid open, revealing nothing but white light shining out of it. The hedgehog noticed the light, and after getting to his feet he slowly turned around to face the doors. Three men walked out. One was wearing a headband with a red jewel on it. He had blue spiky short hair and red eyes. The other had long brown hair, and two blue strap-like headbands on his head, as well as having blue eyes. The last one, the leader of the trio who was standing in the center, had jet black hair that was spiked into on single spike, while two large fringes reached down the side of his face. He had gold eyes, and a gold streak in his hair. The trio wore shihakushos, but the leader had a white haori over his outfit. The other two had arm bands with a symbol of some kind. For a moment, they simply stared at everyone, all three of them displaying a serious expression. "Damn..." Rabid muttered, to which Pianta, who was now next to him, looked towards him in confusion. "You know him?" Fenroar asked in a whisper, to which Rabid remained silent for a moment. It was like he was trying to figure out which answer was the correct one. "That's Kane..." He replied, to which his head received a sharp pain, making him wince a bit. "No!! That isn't what I wanted to say! That's not Kane! Its-" "So that means... Its L..." Fenroar comments, breaking Rabid's inner thoughts for the moment. "You mean that's Lilfate!? He's suppose to be dead!" Pianta nearly shouted, trying to keep her voice down. "I heard he was exiled... There was roamers that he killed someone in the HQ..." Fenroar added, to which Taylor slammed his fist into the ground, causing both Fenroar and Pianta to look at him. "What do you mean HQ? I mean... In the HQ... We have one- I... Which one..." Rabid seemed to be struggling, his veins were slightly bulging as he tried to contain himself it seemed. "That's Kane you idiot!! I know who the hell that is, and its not this L person!" "Shut up!! That's L!! I know who I am! And I'm not you! I'm Rabid-" "You're whoever the hell I say you are!! And you're me! Taylor!! This is my damn body! My damn mind! Get out!! Or I'll kill us both- "You wish!! Even I wouldn't kill myself, what makes you think you're any different than me!?" "That's my point! We're one in the same! But not for long... I'll make you mine-" "Rabid..." Pianta snapped him out of it, making him jerk his head towards her in a bit of panic. Her eyes widen a bit as she stared upon him, fixing her attention on one of his eyes. He noticed she wasn't looking directly at him but fixed on one certain spot. He saw a puddle of water in front of him and moved towards it. His eyes widen as he saw his right eye was solid green. His mind began to race with fear and his heart quickened. Suddenly, a loud heart beat echoed throughout the plain. Everyone, including Rabid, heard this and fixed their attention on the location of the sound. It was Sonic, glowing red yet somehow paralyzed, as if he was caught in some kind of red substance. "Now that I have your attention..." The leader of the trio spoke, looking around first before taking a few steps towards Sonic. "Let me explain who and what I am." He starts off, reaching for his hilt as Sonic's eyes widen with fear. He couldn't move though, he was trapped in this red glowing substance. "I'm a shiningami... In other words... A soul reaper..." He slowly unsheathed his sword and points the blade toward's Sonic chest. "Literally..." With that said, he quickly drove his katana through the hedgehog's chest, causing the red substance to shatter like ice as blood covered the end of the blade. He rips it out, only to hear the horrifying cry of Elise, shouting Sonic's name as she watched the blue blur drop to his knees, close his eyes, and flop to the ground. Everyone was shocked to the core, frozen in disbelief. It was then that Fenroar noticed a red snow flake gently falling to the ground. It captivated him for some reason. He slowly reached out his, bit by bit, in order to catch this peaceful looking snow flake. He let it ease it's way into his palm, blinking a few times as he was surprised by it's touch. It was warm, almost soothing as well. "Don't touch it!" Rabid shouts, which startled Fenroar as he looked at him. He was confused for a moment, until he saw one of Kamelot's knights trapped in that same red substance Sonic was trapped in. He then put two and two together, and darted his eyes back to his palm. The snowflake was glowing bright red, and suddenly it burst and covered his hand in that red substance. Soon it traveled up his arm, and then his chest. Fenroar looked at Rabid with fear in his eyes, as if mentally telling him he didn't want to die next. Pianta heard his thoughts, making her eyes water with anger as she watched the substance consume Fenroar. Within a second, the leader of the shinigami trio appeared next to Fenroar, his back facing Pianta and Rabid. Pianta gasped as Rabid's eyes widen. He was right, this person wasn't Kane. On the back of his white haori was the letter L in cloister black BT font, the same L that Lilfate used all the time. The red substance shattered as blood could be seen splattering to the ground, then came Fenroar's head rolling next to L's feet. "You monster!!" A voice shouts from above. It was Kammy, dropping down with speed towards L. Noticing her presence he quickly leaped out of the way from her attack. She landed gracefully and fixed her eyes on her enemy. "Go! I'll take care of this- Gah!!" Kammy shouts, feeling a sharp blade pierce her back. Blood dripped from her mouth as her eyes widen from pain. Her body jerked as the sword was ripped out of her. Pianta took this chance to run for it, while Rabid staid for a moment as he watched Kammy's body hit the ground, and the brown haired shinigami standing over her corps. Before taking off after Pianta, he noticed that the symbol on the shinigami's arm band was also an L, the same one that was on Lilfate's back. "How do we get out of here!! its not like we can dodge snow flakes!" Rabid shouts, catching up to her as he shouts. Just as he did though, the red substance encased her and forced her to freeze in position. Rabid slid to a halt, debating if he should go back for her or keep going. By then it was too late, he suddenly felt the warmth of the red ice-like substance encase him as well. He watched in anger and horror as the blue haired shinigami cut down Pianta. The trio casually made their way towards Rabid, Lilfate in the center as they approached him. They stopped a foot away from the human, staring at him with no emotions at all. Finally, Lilfate sighs as shakes his head a bit. "How do you rid of an infection..." He asked, knowing full well Rabid wouldn't be able to answer him. "You kill it... Simple as that... That is why they sent me..." He tells him, to which he pointed his katana at Rabid, but paused for a moment as he looked into his eyes. "See ya soon..." "Gaaah!!!" The ice-substance shattered, allowing Rabid to yelp in pain as he felt the blade drive through his very being. The pain was overwhelming. It was like his soul was literally being extracted from his body. However, there was one thing that hung onto Rabid as he felt the darkness of death consume him. He said he'd see him soon. Was he going into the afterlife? His thoughts were interrupted as he felt the katana rip out of him, causing him to flop onto the ground. Slowly closing his eyes he watched the trio walk away, killing everyone else around them. However, he noticed there was more than three shinigamis. His vision started to blur slowly, watching these spirit beings slaughter both armies. Just as he was about to close his eyes, he saw a shinigami approach him. The closer the guy got, the more Rabid thought he recognized him. It wasn't until he was a foot away from him that Rabid's will to survive a little longer kidded in. His vision cleared and the darkness clouding his sight seemed to back off. His eyes widen with utter confusion upon seeing who it was. The shinigami crouched down next to Rabid, looking directly in his eyes. He started to say something but it seems like death had already taken his hearing, so it was muffled. He looked away from Rabid, spoke a bit more, then fixed his attention back on the dying human. The shinigami then swung his rifle in front of him and took him. He paused for a moment, and spoke something similar to 'sorry about this.' With that said, the rifle went off and Rabid's eyes were quickly closed. The last thought on his mind didn't make sense.
