I object to your claims

I think this topic speaks for itself. What level really annoys you? What level is the one that makes you rage quit the game at times? This is the topic to rant about them. I should start this off with the ever classic Carnival Night Zone. And no, it's not The Barrel I have a problem with. That thing I think is only annoying when you don't know what to do. Once you figure it out, it becomes the easiest thing in the world to bypass. There are things that are far worse - like those stupid bumpers that send you back in narrow hallways so you are constantly trying to think of ways to get past but everything you try sends you backwards over and over again and you have to time things just right to get through. And even that doesn't really help you. There are other things I have an issue with, but that's one of the main things wrong with it to me. I also hate this one area where if you fall off a certain part, you end up being quite a ways back from where you had falling from. And since the game runs on a time limit, you can see how this can be rather annoying. |

Actually now that I remember, the stages in the handheld games in general trip me up. To this day I've only beat one handheld game in the series - Sonic Chronicles. |

Launch Base Act 1

I'm just playing SA2 for the first time and whilst it can take a while to learn how to play and master a game, I'm find it a frustrating experience especially when I play as Tails. Eternal Engine was evil. And since this is an early Sonic game, I'm having to get reused to some rather dodgy camera angles. At least modern day Sonic games have improved a lot in that regard. |

Yeah, same here. Sonic Advance was a trip for me... It was really hard and only played it to pass the time. |

Flying Battery Act 1

Both of you surprise me. xD Sonic Advance is probably the easiest 2D Sonic game I've ever played, followed up by Sonic 1. And, I'm horrible with sidescrollers in general, haha. But, maybe it's the control setup. Something about it might not work as great for you as it did for me. |

Angel Island Act 2
|
Crisis City on my copy of Sonic Generations for the PS3 tends to glitch out and that annoys me. About real levels that I actually can't stand though, Sonic Generations' Planet Wisp is just terrible. It's extreme length just makes it so bad. Sandopolis Act 2 also made me go insane when I was first playing S3K and didn't know what to do at the part with the infinite slides, and the ghosts are a pain too. Wii's EggmanLand at the day time can also be pretty frustrating if you're going for an S Rank. Then again, I played that years ago so who knows now. |

Hydrocity Act 2

Ever since I was a kid, I have always found Metropolis Zone to be very annoying, to this day I still hate getting up to it because it I find the enemies rather annoying and the level design is quite difficult. |

Lava Reef Act 2
|
I dunno if I posted in this topic already. But, it took me forever as a kid to beat Lost World in Sonic Adventure, omg. I got so frustrated with the glowing mirrors and walls and stuff like that.. and then there was tons of levels in SA2, this one level with Rouge, where she reads stuff backwards and..MAD SPACE! yes that was what it was called. Took me a while. .-. And a few other levels, just cause I suck at video games haha |

Mad Space is a weird one. I've taken as short as less than three minutes to finish it and as long as a few hours. |

My! That's a pretty snazzy performance there!
|
Thought of some more: Final Fortress (Sonic or Dark Mission): As a kid, I hated the level since it was 15+ minutes long of sheer, button pressing exploding, helmet enemy wearing, RED/YELLOW/BLUE LASER FIRE!!! yelling grinding, pain in my rectum. Even though it is not as bad since I played years later, I remember the pain i endured. Speaking of which All Secondary Mission of Team Chaotix in Sonic Heroes: This might be over-doing, but who doesn't despise at least one Chaotix fetch quest mission. The fact that the second mission has you trying to find harder or more items is ridiculous. Most memorable are Mystic Mansion's Blue Flames and Final Fortress' 10 keys. Launch Base Zone: Yea, was a long one for me. And the fact that you had to fight Death Egg Robot in the end was a pain. |

Yep.

I just wrote a really big and descriptive post. Guess what i did. I posted it on accident in the happy birthday thread. Then , i deleted the post in haste, forgetting to copy it so i can post it here. God damn it. Anyway, to make it short. Most frustrating levels in a Sonic game? ..every single race track from Sonic Riders' story mode. Just try to beat the thing, i have never been so mad at a Sonic game before. It's probably because of the catchup system. |

Okay, how's this; nearly every stage in Sonic and the Secret Rings is hell because of the shitty controls. Why couldn't we have been able to use the control stick to move Sonic? |

Sandopolis Act 2
|
Sonic 4, Episode 2. Sky Fortress Act 3. And, for similar reasons by dint of introducing the reason I hate that level: the latter half of Act 2 of the same zone. Those thrusters are annoying... especially when you're tasked with flying under them, over bottomless pits. |
| Indeed, there is nothing more repulsive than these monsters that defy nature and are known by the name of witcher, as they are the offspring of foul sorcery and witchcraft. They are unscrupulous scoundrels without conscience and virtue, veritable creatures from hell capable only of taking lives. They have no place amongst decent and honest folk. | |
