Chaos Emerald Posts: 691 Group: S Rank Knight Member #746 Joined: March 19, 2007	Story: Blood... Countless blood... Pools of blood... For three nights many have been murdered. These murders are a result of a phenomenon that was recently birth. This phenomenon is the product of an ending chapter known as the Great Bankai. The Year of the Great Bankai has been silenced. But in its place, a new conflict laid dormant, just like the Year of the Great Bankai. Only now, the trap has been sprung. Many have died in the course of three nights, but never during the day. No one has noticed until the third night, when the effects wore off. A new terrifying saga has risen, declaring war against every single being, including those that live in the afterlife. The police scramble to find the source of this horrid event. Bodies were found all over the streets, in stores, houses, and other places. No one can recall how this happened, nor can anyone pinpoint the exact time this event happened. All they knew is that some of the corpses have been dead for three days, while others are fresh. The police try to cover up the truth of this matter, but no one can cover up so many deaths with simple lies. Panic starts to rise. No one is safe, anyone can be next... Anyone can be the murderer... Shinigamis are thrown into a state of emergence. Many shinigamis have died, some reaching high ranked seated members of different squads. The same situation seems to be present here. No one can recall this event, no one has any memory of the last three nights. They only remember what happened during the day, but the memories of the three nights are as black as the nigth sky itself, only empty space remains. Some of the captains receive word that a few of their fallen were found in the world of living. They begin to formulate a plan, and believe this event started in the world of the living. Caution is high though, as Gotei 13 has been put on lock down. No enters the world of the living without permission or the knowledge of the head captain... Some believe this is a result of a bankai, while others believe it is part of the Great Bankai's effects... No one is safe either way, and everyone could be a traitor... Hueco Mundo is in a uproar. Many hollows have been slaughter and left for dead. The process of becoming stronger for hollows is to devour other hollows. However, not to kill them. Also, their deaths are very strange. Their bodies are altered, transformed even into something completely different. They look like a mix between their human selves and their hollow selves. Other hollows are solidified, completely solid, tuned into red stone-like statues. Normally the espadas wouldn't have a problem with so many hollows being killed off, its normal to see such things. However, these transformations and solidified hollows are not of the normal. What is also strange, is that several dead humans were found in Hueco Mundo, more than just a good handful. Instantly the espadas believe this is the work of the shinigamis, experimenting and testing different methods of wipe them out for good. What else could it be if not the shinigami. It then dawned on them that this is another attempt to control, or perhaps another shinigami, possibly even a human, is trying to take over Hueco Mundo like Aizen did. Of course, some believe this is the works of one of their other kind. Either the shinigami's methods work and has turned one of them into a uncontrollable 'pet,' or something far worse has happened. Either way, they continue to focus their time and energy on the shinigami, yet they still feel like something else lurks within their territory... Something far more evil than themselves... (Start your character in their species's world. Example: Shinigamis start in Gotei 13. Humans start in the world of the living(in the town of course) ect.) Edited by L Dragon, Dec 17 2012, 11:57 PM.

His last three nights were blank holes in his memory, and there was chaos all around him. He had no idea what he could do other than follow his orders. Right now, those orders were more morbid then he generally cared for. He was walking through Seireitei and collecting corpses. Bayner did not particularily care for corpses, yet here he was. Loading them, one by one into a now rather foul smelling wagon. With no one knowing what had happened during the last three nights, or how the victims had been killed. It had been requested that the 4th division collect and examine the corpses to try and try and find out any imformation, such as a cause of death, or the presence of anything unnatural. In Bayner's opinion, the only thing worse then collecting the bodies would be having to cut them open and examine them. So he had volunteered for corpse collection duty. He bent down a carefully took hold of another body, with a grunt he hoisted it onto his shoulder and slowly trudged back to the wagon where he gracelessly dumped the body on top of the pile. he looked at the pile and decided that he would bring this load back to the 4th division headquarters before continuing. With a sigh he took up the wagons handles, turned around, and began the walk back to the fourth division.

Not anymore at least..." Ein tells him, eyes focused on the ground with his arms crossed. "I was told that they don't want anyone by themselves anymore either... In a sense, we're babysitting each other... If something were to happen to either of us, we're both suspects..." He adds, to which he looked at Bayner for a moment, then looked away. "Don't expect me to do anything though... Not my job to lug around corpses... I just make them..." He informs him. Sure, he wasn't apart of squad 11, but ever since the Year of the Great Bankai event, Ein hasn't been the same. Not many actually know what happened. The majority of the shinigamis simply know that they faced a powerful foe that day that needed to be killed, nothing else. The truth was hidden form everyone expect the captains, and of course those directly involved, which included Ein.

Bayner chuckled and grinned at the newcomer "Anyways, I don't believe we've met, I am Bayner of the 11th relief team of the 4th division." he reached out to shake hands.

However, when offered a handshake, he declined by simply stating his name and keeping his arms crossed. "Ein... Squad 10 lieutenant..." He tells him, then paused for a moment as a bit of anger swept over his face. "The new lieutenant of squad 10..." He clarifies as his mind began to play through a series of events before he snapped himself out of his own thoughts by taking a few steps forward. "Any idea who did this... Or what..." He asked, figuring he'd do his 'job' and try to make sense of things. "From what I can see... Some of them were killed by a zanpakuto... Or a blade of some kind. And then you have the others. Looks like something ripped through them. Something animal-like. And lastly, the time frame... I was informed that the time span of their deaths don't match... Here is what you don't know... Some shinigami corpses were found in the world of the living as well. Most of the ones found in the world of the living had a black stain somewhere on their skin... I'm wondering if you've found any like that yet." He finishes, turning his attention towards Bayner for a moment to receive an answer.

He only succeeded in making himself look like an awkward fool. Bayner looked over the man, his eyes falling on the symbol that marked him as a lieutenant right as Ein introduced himself. Bayner stood up a bit straighter as he realized he was talking to. Superior, and flinched when the flash of anger swept by, wondering if he had done something wrong, but when Ein continued to speak calmly Bayner couldn't help but wonder if he imagined it. He listened to the new information quietly, inwardly glad for it. "I'm not to great with the medical part of my duties, but from my limited knowledge I would agree with your assessment. The captain could probably figure out more but we won't know anything for a little while yet. As for the black stains..." Bayner, with his nose scrunched up, reached back into the pile of bodies, gently rolling some away until he found the one he was looking for. Positioning it so that the body was laying on its back Bayner gestured to its face, "do they look anything like this?" He asked. Spreading from the neck and across the left side of the face was a large black blotch. He didn't know how, but something in him told him this wouldn't end well. He sighs, a bit annoyed actually. He didn't have any control of this event, nor could he remember a thing for three nights straight. "Your captain is currently in the world of the living... I'm going to ask that you keep this between me and you..." Ein tells him, his eyes narrowing a bit as his last comment sounded like a command more than a request. "No one can be trusted... And-" "What the hell are you talking about?" A voice spoke. However, Ein was the only one to hear this voice. His eyes widen with fear as he recognized the voice. Ein started to look around in a panic, trying to find the owner of the voice. "You looked a bit surprised to hear from me... Can't say I'd react the same if I was hearing the voice of a dead man..." Ein continue to look around, slowly realizing this was somehow all in his head. In order to inform Bayner of his current mental break down, he grab his hilt and looked around even more. "Bayner... Do you see anything strange... Or hear anything..." Ein asked, staying on his guard as he listened for the voice again. "Bayner huh... Teh, can't say I remember you..." The voice again, only this time, Bayner would be the only one to hear him, and not Ein.

"Sir?" Bayner asked quietly, taking notice as Ein's hand dropped to his zanpakuto. Bayners hand slowly did the same, Bayner generally wouldn't strike first in a fight, he preferred to try and settle things diplomatically, but if it did come to blows he wouldn't hesitate to defend himself. "Ein?" he said a bit louder, wondering what was happening to the man. He had seemed so calm and level headed a moment ago, what was so different now that it could cause for such a man to become so irrational so suddenly? Bayner opened his mouth to call out one last time, but Ein beat him to it. Bayner listened to Ein's questions very carefully and was just beginning to think the man insane when he heard the voice. unexpected as it was, it shocked him to the core. Bayner calmly looked around, and surveyd his surroundings, seeing no possible source he looked back at Ein while trying to keep the surprise off his face. "Your diffinately not insane."

Suddenly the man made his appearance as he slowly faded into their view. "Kane!!" Ein shouts, noticing Kane made himself seen. Ein went to draw his weapon, only he stopped himself as his hand started to shake and his eyes tried to narrow into anger, yet fear overwhelming all of his emotions and movement. "Come on, Ein... You gonna betray me like that... Again-" "Shut up!" Ein roared, the clanging of his sword becoming louder as his hand shook. He couldn't believe it. He knew this had to be some kind of illusion. Still, it was still very haunting. "Bayner huh... I wouldn't stand next to this traitor... He might be infected as well... Check out his arm." Kane tells Bayner, to which Ein's eyes widen a bit. He felt something on his arm, something warm. He quickly rolled up his sleeve and nearly shouted in shock. His mouth was shut tightly to prevent his shocked yell from coming out. There was a blotch on his arm, and it was moving, as if trying to take the shape of something but only to change again. Ein's heart raced as he started to panic. He looked at Bayner with eyes of a psychopath. How could he explain this? What would he think? Ein's eyes narrowed a bit as he thought Bayner would attack him. He remained silent, yet his zanpakuto was half way out of it's sheath.

As the Man came into view, Bayner, noting Ein's distress, drew his sword and took a ready stance facing Kane. He listened to their brief conversation calmly and payed close attention to any emotions he might read on their faces. He remained this way as Kain spoke to him, calmly assessing everything. It was only after seeing the mark that Bayner's expression changed to one of shock. Bayner grew more worried upon seeing the look in Ein's eyes and decided there was only one thing he could do. Bayner slowly angled himself so he was facing in between the two. Then he walked backwards, very aware of the eyes placed on him. He always maintained a ready stance. When he reached a sufficient distance to react to an attack from either man, he spoke. "I'm sorry Ein. I wanna trust you, but I have no experiences with you to base that trust on, and I'm not taking any chances with all the shit thats been going on lately. To be honest, your both frigin suspicious."

Look at your position, and look at whom you're targeting to fight!" Ein shouts, his eyes filled with anger as he kept his hand steady now. It seemed like his anger calmed his nerves, which was normal for those that knew Ein. "Do you really want to go head to head with a lieutenant..." Ein asked, keeping his sword still partly in it's sheath, which was a sign that he wasn't going to draw it unless Bayner gave him a reason to. Suddenly, Ein's eyes widen a bit as he noticed something that made him tense up again. A red snow flake slowly descended towards the ground before them. Having seen this, he quickly sheathed his sword and dropped to his knees and bowed. "Captain Hensa... I-" Ein was cut off as Hensa made his appearance, appearing right next to him as he eyed Bayner. "Bayner of squad four... Please sheath your weapon... It wouldn't make any sense for you to die twice..." Hensa told him, to which Ein placed a confused expression as he slowly stood up. "We found your corpse in the world of the living... Your body had a black stain on it... Yet, here you are. We found the same situation with Ein. Only his corpse did not have a stain on it..." Hensa strongly laid his eyes on Bayner, then quickly shifted to Ein, only to returned them back to Bayner. In short, Hensa was trying to signal Bayner to attack Ein when he wasn't looking. "What... What does this mean then?" Ein asked, to which Hensa turned his body completely to Ein and sighs, closing his eyes and shaking his head. "Ein... You're the enemy..." Hensa states, to which Ein's eyes widen with shock. It was at this moment that Hensa lifted his hand up towards Ein, ready to perform a binding chant. "As I'm sure you know, position doesn't always dictate one's strength. I have confidence in my abilities, even if you are a liutenant.", Bayner swallowed nervously, debating if it was better to release his shikai now, or if that might prevoke an attack from either of his potential opponents. He didn't get to much father in those thought because of the appearance of the captain. He had heard of captain Hensa but had never actually talked to him, or even seen him up close before. Bayner listened to his words nervously, his self confidence from moments before rapidly fading. The tip of his blade lowered a bit as he took on a more relaxed stance. He would still have ample time to react to an attack from Ein or Kane, Hensa on the other hand would likely be to fast, but that would be the case regardless of his stance. Ein saw Hensa looking at him, but luckilly for Ein, Bayner was completely oblivious to this kind of thing unless it was clearly explained in advance. He just stared blankly as Hensa's hand came up.

His skin started to crack, displaying more of the black stain. It would seem that Ein wasn't Ein at all. Hensa had an idea that Ein wasn't himself, but he didn't think he would something else entirely. Ein roared like a hollow, only there was a twisted and evil hissing behind his howling. Hensa didn't have time to speak the chant and simply performed a bakudo, Hainawa to be exact. Ein's arms were suddenly entangled in a rope formed from spirit energy. This only made Ein's transformation worsen, as well as his howling. His skin continued to crack, his face completely broken off and revealed a dark and evil creature with red glowing eyes. Grooves and ridges formed in several designs could barely be seen on this being's face. "Bayner, attack him now!" Hensa ordered, leaping back to get out of his way. He wasn't sure if his quick bakudo was strong enough to hold this demon looking creature. In the event that it wasn't, he was ready to preform another one, which is why he had Bayner attack Ein instead.

"Stand guard, Kyōkai hogo-sha!" As the words left his lips he drew his left hand away from his blade and held it out beside him, no sooner then he had it in position then a chain burst out of the pommel of his zanpakuto. It continued to grow and extend as it spiraled up and around his arm, it ran alon his shoulers and behind his neck before continuing to spiral down his left arm. It finally finished by wrapping around his hand and conecting to a dark blue triangle above it. Like a ripple in the water, more triangles materialized around and out, until they numbered 21. Bayner held his blade single handed in front of him while keeping the triangle coated arm a little off to the side. He continued to watch the transformation with a mix of horrow and awe. Relief flashed across his face when he saw the bakudo go off, but it quickly faded when he heard his orders. Attack? Not only did Bayner not like attacking, but he was bad at it, counter strikes he could do, but attacking straight out? That was a different matter. And all of a sudden he was expected to attack this thing?! Bayner sighed as he realized that it was an order from a captain and that he had no choice. Resigned, Bayner preformed his best shunpo, which could barely even be called that, and moved behind the monster taking a slow clumsy swing at its neck.

Oddly enough, instead of blood spewing out, a gas like substance gushed out as the head floated in the air before it started to disintegrate into black dust, and then nothingness. The body slowly fell over, and before it hit the ground it did the same thing, turned into black dust and then nothingness. Hensa was a bit surprised by this. He didn't think it would be so easy, nothing is ever this easy. He wasn't convinced that this was the end. He thought for a moment, then suddenly spun around and leaped backwards to form up next to Bayner. Some of the corpses Bayner was gathering started to move, and soon they stood up right as if a puppeteer was controlling. Their skins shattered, revealing vile dark creatures with red glowing eyes. They each had different shaped spikes, or horns rather, on their heads. They looked like hollows, as the grooves and ridges on their faces were in place of the masks hollows would wear. "Vilents..." Hensa spoke, narrowing his eyes upon them as if he just figured out what these beings were. No one but the captains knew about Vilents. In fact, most of the captains now didn't know about these, only a selected few, for a good reason as well. "You've seemed to forget I was here..." Kane's voice echoed a few times as an odd spirit energy surged all around them. Hensa looked over his shoulder in complete shock, confused on how a dead shinigami could be alive. "... Kane... Don't waste your time. I killed you before, I wont think twice about doing it again..." Hensa tells him as his spirit energy started to raise. Red snow flakes started to fall, something that was common to see before Hensa engaged in a fight. "Bayner... I know I am asking much of you, but if you can, hold off those Vilents until I lead Kane away from here... If you can not do that, then lead them away from here and escape yourself." Hensa tells him, grabbing his hilt as he slid his feet into his fighting stance.
