How to beat the final boss in Sonic Rush?; Need to get this one out of the way...

 So I'm on Sonic's story when playing Sonic Rush, and trying to hit the final boss after the first is near to impossible. I know how you're supposed to do it, but I can't seem to hit the mech's head before he flings me off when I crawl up his arm. Am I doing something wrong or is it just lack of skill? Any help would be appreciated.

 If you mean the final boss as in the final boss before the Super Sonic level then you need to come to a complete stop and hold down before he flings his arms around, when his arms stop moving its safe to release down and start moving again.

You won't get much closer, 'till you sacrifice it all.
 Basically what Vulpix said- when you're running up his arm, hold the down directional button, just before and during when he starts flinging his arm about, and continue to move up his arm until you're able to hit him. The more he's hurt, the less time there will be to run up to hit him between intervals of him flinging his arm- so you'll need to hold the down directional button more often. ;P

I make it sound more complicated than it actually is. I remember having problems with that boss fight myself, though. D:
