My gosh... I got a free month when I bought the Assassins Creed 3 PS3 bundle and I don't know how I did without it! It's so worth it! I never really was interested because I always found Live to be a rip off and there was no way I was paying for a subscription service. One of the factoring reasons why I got a PS3 in the first place was the free online service....

Well it obviously doesn't work like Live does. It's $50 a year and it offers many free games, heavy discounts, exclusive betas, and other services. Lately they have been giving away lots of good games! Bioshock 2 is now free, so is Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition. I got Sonic 2, NFL Blitz, Red Dead Redemption, and many others for free using this service. Plus it offers other perks such as automatic downloads and cloud game saving. Automatic downloads works with you selecting when you want your PS3 to update(rule of thumb is to pick a time you know you WON'T be playing it like at night) and it will download any firmware updates, patches, and sync trophies then shut off.

It's actually kind of like the old Sega Channel service that Sega offered for the Mega Drive/Genesis. Does anyone have this service or have been thinking about getting it? For me, it surprised me how good it was. I thought I'd never want to pay for something like this.

There is a classic sonic bundle with 1 & 2 for free right now and I got Sonic 2 for free earlier this year when it was free. Get LBP2 it's a fun game!

Really? I wasn't aware of that, I might consider getting Playstation Plus now, lol. I'm not too active on Playstation and don't have a great intent on doing so either. But a load of free games sounds quite nice.
-Sig under construction because the next thing I use will be hilarious-

Hey guys! Check out this game I made Here!

I had a subscription about a year ago and I got to be honest with you I wasn't really excited about it. I only did it because I thought that I could get all three Spyro the Dragon games free and thought when my subscription was over I could keep them. Oh ho ho!!! I was dead wrong. I would've costed the same amount to buy all three of them as did it cost for the three month subscription. Not really my cup of cappuccino.

Well of course, if you're going into it just for specific games that isn't worth it but if you like getting free games on a continuous basis and discounts(which you can keep after it expires, just got the Portal 2 DLC discounted) then it is. I really wish I had it when Red Dead and Borderlands were free though, would have thoroughly enjoyed playing those.

I'm almost positive I had the subscription when Jurassic Park the Game was free. This might have been a demo for PS Plus members though. PS Plus exclusive demos are another thing I remember. One of my cousins is an avid subscriber of it. In fact, he informs me every time something he thinks I'll like is free. I also noticed some themes including the Daytona USA 2001 theme were free and for some reason I still have them and still usable. Don't get me wrong, Playstation Plus is neat and all with the discounts and such but it's not worth it for someone like me who has a low standard in video games. Sega Genesis/MD and 32X games turn me on.

Themes and avatars that you get for free are always available, it's just the free games that require a subscription.

I've had Playstation Plus for several months now, and I gotta say it's a really great service that gives a lot back for a small price. I've saved tons of money on games through freebies, discounts, etc. The auto-updates are great, since it alleviates wait time for patches and syncs because I can have it do all that stuff when I'm at work. Overall, it's been a great service and I'm definitely renewing it once my year expires (wish I knew when that was, there doesn't seem to be any reminders). It really makes Sony stand out amongst the big 3 who don't have offers like this.

Hey it's Dorito_2! I see you on all the time! :D Anyway you can find out when it expires by going into your account settings and viewing services I think. I don't have my PS3 with me right now or else I'd give you exact directions. It's in there though.
