There's a big difference between a dog being "walked through" how to perform basic driving functions on an empty course, and actually driving down an occupied street, obeying traffic signals and other laws, etc. Barring intelligence issues, Dogs can't even see color as well as we do--it's very difficult if not impossible to distinguish yellow from green, and red is supposedly outside their range of color vision altogether. The three most common colors we use to direct traffic are like the worst colors in the world for dogs. Edited by Ghost, Dec 17 2012, 12:07 PM.

Well, I'll admit�I believe it. Looks like you kinda failed on the whole assumption that I'd claim it to be a hoax. But, on the topic at hand... This is actually rather intriguing, a dog learning how to drive a car�not much of a significant achievement at first till you see 'dog' mentioned in that. I doubt dog's will ever successfully be able to functionally drive as well as humans could, but this�is an interesting video that shows that dogs can do more than just grab the paper or the ball. It displays a portion of their ability to take in knowledge and adapt. And I'm impressed. I also agree on what Ghost said, a Dog will not do quite well on an occupied street trying to obey traffic laws. Their inability to distinguish certain spectrums of light makes it incredibly difficult on the road, especially when at intersections or behind another car�since break lights are a red hue, a colour apparent outside of their ability to distinguish... imagine the rear-ends. But, it is a momentous achievement I say, and it really does show that dogs are far more intelligent and capable than what most would believe.
