Though Halo has always been the exception. It's an MMO without the grindy feeling. You shoot things cause shooting things is fun, EXP and loot is just the happy side-effect. There's not a massive amount of content to it in terms of story or mission diversity, but if you've got people to play with you'll have fun replaying missions in an attempt to score the best loot. If you even remotely liked Halo and/or MMOs, I think it's a solid choice.

Link only gains that mask and form for the final boss in Majora's Mask, just like Super Sonic was restricted to the final bosses for the longest time since Adventure.
