And yes, X/Y are pretty great. I personally didn't dislike the DS entries (though I admit that, looking back at them, Diamond and Pearl weren't all that great), but X/Y have some pretty great improvements to the overall mechanics and gameplay. Gen IV brought about one of the single most important changes to the series however: The Physical/Special split. So it deserves some credit there. Also it wasn't a bad generation mon wise either. And to be fair it was amazing at the time. Gen V was one of the best. BW for story, BW2 for gameplay and post-game features. Smashing music all around. Gen VI is... okay. There's a lot of improvements there and the new mon designs are all pretty awesome but it's also lacking. Nothing to do post game, the difficulty is almost non-existent with nobody really getting a full team until near the very end, music was a mixed bag, guys got the short end of the fashion stick. Also, Sky Battles were the worst addition that screwed up so many Pok�mon. Ech. Hoping the obligatory 3rd version fixes some of these problems. inb4 should be its own thread

I must say that after seeing the list, I'm relieved, because my favorite online games, CoD: Black Ops and Goldeneye 007 are not on that list. I REALLY don't want to buy a Wii U just because the online multiplayer of my two fave FPS T!tles are taken off the servers. Also, good to see that the Wii shop Channel is still active. Still so many games that I wish to buy and play.

Felt like it was rehashed with everything else aside from pokemon designs. B/W did better story-wise but it moved at a snails pace. Never played the sequels though. X and Y kept things moving at a fresh pace, tons of minor conveniences that been long overdue, and yeah postgame is nonexistent but that's not really anything new to the series to be honest. Been getting smaller since the second generation. But just my opinion. Shrug. It's a bit easy but I'll take that over grinding / slow pacing or backtracking out of a cave to get to a Pokemon center. Probably the best in the series to me.

Thousands of people, all via a special program, try to play the original Pokemon Red at once, leading to a rather unique and hilariously bad stream as these people all try to coordinate themselves to make progress in the game.
