Fenroar Jan 20 2014, 04:21 PM I actually didn't play much of the demo... just got a feel for the battle system and that was that. Want to be fresh as possible for the main game. Just play the damn demo to completion already. You get bonuses at the start of the full version depending on how far you get through it, which is nice early on. It has zero baring on the story (literally none at all), none of the dungeons are featured in the full game (I think one of them is a single floor from the complete dungeon in the full game, though), you can only level up the handful of Jobs to Lv. 4 and the skills granted at those levels are different than they are in the actual game (same can be said for Norende Village Restoration. Things only go to Lv. 3 and provide hardly anything of use) and again, it has zero baring on the story. All that really loses its 'freshness' would be the Anchiem area, and even then the events that take place in the full game are so different your understanding of the goings on will be completely changed when you get around to playing it. It gives you a great taste of what the game will be like, without ruining any of it at all. Best kind of demo. So go. Right now. Play it. That's an order! ~~Not that you're my subordinate or anything, but I still think it's a silly reason.~~ inb4 "this could be its own topic", for which we technically already have one

Or should I get Continuum Shift? Hmm... Oh and yeah, I know there's stuff you can transfer to the main game. But it's just item packs and StreetPass stuff because you can't transfer stats or anything. Plus, the demo is sort of a grindfest... which I'm not really feeling motivated for seeing levels don't transfer. And sweet, Lightning Returns demo today. Play it and you can get a outfit transferred to the main game. Will be playing it. Sort of tempted to make a topic... but I know there will be people being grumbled about the game.

Don't have that luxury in the full thing. Also yes, Chronophantasma is due out around March for the states I think (no word on an Australian release). If it was purely for gameplay, I'd wait it out. But if you wanted to get the story, try getting Continuum Shift: EXTEND. It includes the reconstruction of Calamity Trigger's events and Continuum Shift covers a pretty significant event. Ought to be pretty cheap too. ~~Plus if you do get it I'll have someone to fight.~~
