However, I see that you already have established forms of transportation. Well there goes my idea.

 Well, once we get these worlds built and so on, or at least have a general idea of them, or at least ONE of them down packed and how to move back and forth, the sheet will be posted ASAP x3

Also, I'm not knocking down your transportation idea. I'm trying to better understand it. So how would you move through this sub-space thing. and is it just corridors or is it another realm entirely?

 ok. First of all, read the comics, skip the movie. You'll get a better idea of the "Corridor" concept. In the game, it's this weird, trippy, glitchy place...

But this is my concept. Subspace is a realm in which reality is abandoned. Anything is possible. In other words, it's the world of one big videogame, people would be able to traverse on clouds, get currency out of random brick blocks, etc.

Nothing special to it, as I'm pretty sure that this idea has somehow been mentioned amongst yourselves...or has it been?

How will universal inconsistencies be handled? Like, let's say that magic works one way in Universe A, but another way in Universe B; if someone crosses from A to B, will their powers be lost, retained or altered to match the 'rules' of the universe they're currently in?

 Well, magic... Rules between worlds may be inconsistent, but if all the worlds are connected, there should be some common principles that should allow things to work after a bit of acclimation. Mostly, I would think, principles of focus and intent.

Hell, maybe that's something my "Ascension" faction could study as a subset of their focus on "the secrets of creation."

I know subspace can mean several things, as some have used this 'subspace' as a means of carrying unlimited amounts of items with them, or pulling out large swords from their 'pocket.' From what you explained, this 'subspace' simply sounds like just another world or realm rather than a faster way of traveling, which is what we were talking about I believe. I think corridors of some kind, could be a means of transportation, similar to the Nobodies in Kingdom Heart. Of course, we can also have it that some locations/worlds can be reached by these corridors, or can only be reached by using certain corridors. In that case, such things as spacecrafts, ships, and other things like that would be a must.

Once again, these are just ideas mind you. But I think your idea would fit more as just another world/realm.

TUC/Choco - Magic... What a tricky thing... Cause, ya know, there are many types of 'magic.' We first need to ask what magic is, and what does magic entitle to? Some consider shape-shifting a magical trait, as some people NEED magic to shape-shift while others are simply generically altered(from normal standards) to do so. Also, we have things like 'the force' from star wars. Some people might consider that magic. Now, I know I'm most likely going a bit overboard with the whole force thing, but once again there are different types of magic and what people consider to be magic nowadays.

I'm bringing this up because this would apply to spirit energy as well. And, well every other 'energy based' that is not considered magic. So, maybe we should first layout what magic is and what it entitles... Generally... Cause some alien races may not consider their 'abilities or tech' to be magic, while other races might. Kinda like putting a computer in front of a medieval times person. 'what sorcery is this!' xD Anyways, any ideas?

 Choco - I like the way you think sir! Of course, now we have to figure out what these fundamentals are and like you said, where does this magic come from. Also, this just came to mind and I think this is somewhat what TUC was talking about, are we gonna have magic 'work' everywhere? Or will there be some realms and worlds that magic doesn't work at all.

Scott - Cool, cool. Oh, what do you plan on calling this world/realm? Also, is it considered another world or a realm?

 Could be that the ability to tap into whatever power source magic stems from is an ingrained genetic thing; so the reason why magic doesn't seem to exist in a particular universe is because no-one possesses that gene... or something?

Rejoice, for bad things are about to happen!
 Hey, I've been off the scene on SB for a few weeks, but I am also still interested in this. I'm glad i didn't miss the start. ^_^
I read the conversation on how to deal with magic and how it changes between worlds, and I personally like TUC's Idea, the natives of each world could have something in there genetics that allowed for them to use their magic, hence we wouldn't have to worry about the rules of different magics contradicting each other, and the characters wouldn't have to worry about losing all their power when going to another world. The main issue I see with this is what if someone from planet A wants to learn magic from planet B? Would they just not be allowed to? Or could they find a way to circumvent the problem of not having the right genes?

 Maybe the only real differences between magic from different universes is a psychological method. Like, it's seen to work one way in one place, but another way in another place. So learning magic from another world is really just achieving the same thing through a different method... I guess?
