The truest of Lycalos

It was an early morning of a midsummer day. A sky blue Lycalo utilized his formidable, azure blue bat wings to traverse the vast skies. He occasionally gave them a flap to keep his altitude leveled. He flew above a seemingly infinite grassland. The grass swayed like an endless wave of green as the cool air flowed, bringing a fresh and crisp scent to the hybrid's keen nostrils. This was his daily routine for the last two years. Not only did this keep his wings strong like they were, but it represented his freedom. Every single night he would be cooped up like an animal in a cage, deathly worried the Nightmare would return. Had it not been for his discovery two years ago, that monster’s rampage would have no end. But now was the time he was free, to travel the world as his heart pleased. The wind brushing past his face refreshed him and kept his mind clear. Feeling the Sun's rays filled his body with warmth and comfort. He had been flying for an hour and a half now and his wings began to ache. His golden eyes scanned the ground to search for a place to rest. A lone tree caught his attention and he swooped down. He landed with a roll and proceeded to lay down in the shade. His body was completely sprawled out. His wings, arms and legs were fully outstretched and his long shaggy wolf tail rested to his side to prevent him from lying fully on it. He laced his fingers behind his head and sighed deeply, sinking into the grass. |

Dan who was nearby, sits on the branch of a tree, laying down. He looks out at the sky, deep in his thoughts. He looks down to see an azure blue bat. Interested, he jumps down from the tree and starts walking towards him. |

Twilight's acute bat ears perked up at the sudden sound of movement. He rolled over onto his stomach and pushed himself up slightly to see where it originated. The gray canine would first be met with a confused and intimidated expression. Once he saw it was no threat, the Lycalo jumped to his feet and greeted the visitor with a smile. "Hi. I wasn't expecting anybody to be way out here." he said with a chuckle. |

"The name's Twilight." the hybrid replied, briefly meeting his yellow gloved hand with Josh's. His bushy wolf tail swayed side to side, showing he was happy to meet somebody new. He was well aware this stranger was moderately nervous and Twilight was attempting to be the least threatening he can be. "So what brings you out here anyway? I was just taking my usual morning flight and I stopped to take a break." he continued. |

He shrugs, pulling his hand away after Twilight shakes it. ''Just was bored and decided to come out here. I found this place recently, and it relaxed me. So I decided to come here whenever I get stressed or angry, I guess. But today I just felt like comin' here, I guess.'' He chuckles. |

"Looks like we have the same reason for coming out here." Twilight replied with a slight chuckle. "Although mine's probably a little worse." he continued, his tail ceasing its movement and ears drooping at the very thought of the living Nightmare within him. Without an incident in 2 years, the Lycalo was determined to keep that streak going forever, but always had a worry he would fail at one point. Finding himself lost in his own thoughts, his ears perked back up as he snapped out of his mental trance. "It is quite nice out here. I've never been to this particular spot, but I pass this grassland almost everyday." he stated, attempting to divert attention away from his expression of sadness and worry.

"Sure. I always enjoy meeting new people." he replied with an elated smile. His tail began wagging again and his ears perked up more. Finding somebody to hangout with brought much happiness like he was displaying. "I was actually on my way back to the city. I was gonna fly there, but if you'd like, we can walk back, or stay here. I'm fine with either." he said with a snicker. |

"I'm up for a good walk. My wings have had enough exercise anyways." he replied, gently flapping the leathery protrusions as he mentioned them. So Josh, tell me a little bit about yourself, if you don't mind of course." he said with a gleeful smile as he walked beside the gray canine. |

"No worries at all. You seem much more interesting than me." he replied with a hearty laugh. "I myself am... 18." he said, sounding somewhat hesitant. This was both a deceitful answer and a truthful one. Technically speaking, he was actually 18 years of age, but the inner darkness within him had ceased his aging for the last 3 years. Of course he didn't wish to bring this up to his new friend... at least not yet. "And there's nothing much to me. I enjoy running and flying which just about sums up everything I enjoy doing." he finished with a few nods. He looked over to see the canine had appeared nervous. "Hey, no worries, I won't bite." he teased with a smile, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder.

He blushes slightly as the canine's hand goes to his shoulder and nods. ''Y-yeah. Sorry,'' he chuckles, ''I guess I'm just..socially awkward is all?'' He shrugs slightly, ''Always been that way..I kinda can't help it, I dunno.'' He blushes as he realizes how much he had just revealed of himself. Sure maybe to other it wasnt a lot but to him, it was. He hadnt told many people that. |
