By LEVEL-5 in collaboration with Studio Ghibli, coming for the PS3 in January 2013!

Plot

The story of Ni no Kuni revolves around thirteen-year-old Oliver, a resident of Motorville, whose mother, Arie, suddenly dies after rescuing him from drowning. A doll, given to Oliver by his mother, is brought to life from his tears and reveals itself to be a male fairy named Drippy, who gives Oliver a book that allows him to use the power of magic and enter the world of "Ni no Kuni," a reality parallel to his own. In Ni no Kuni, Drippy says Oliver may be able to find his mother, Arie. Using the newfound power of magic, Oliver and Drippy venture into Ni no Kuni. There, he befriends Maru, Gyro, and other alternative versions of people (and animals) he knows.

Any thoughts?

I saw a trailer for this a while back, and I must say that it looks pretty slick. Though admittedly I'm not sure what's going on gameplay wise.

Not sure if it's on my to buy list, but I'd like to play it at some point, methinks.

It's definitely in my to-buy list.

Famitsu gave it a 38 out of 40 (10/9/9/10); that's pretty impressive, IMHO. Plus, I absolutely love Studio Ghibli's animations.

Welp. Guess I'll just have to come over and hang out at your place then.

But that's pretty impressive. Definitely worth a look.

I'll probably get it because Dark Cloud was awesome and this is also by Level 5. Plus the graphics are fantastic.

I've yet to meet a Level-5 game I didn't enjoy. I'll have to take a look when it's out.
Indeed, there is nothing more repulsive than these monsters that defy nature and are known by the name of witcher, as they are the offspring of foul sorcery and witchcraft. They are unscrupulous scoundrels without conscience and virtue, veritable creatures from hell capable only of taking lives. They have no place amongst decent and honest folk.

Its very beautifully done, perhaps when more comes out, like its gameplay and such, I may get more interested in it.

They just released the demo for this game on the Playstation store and comes out next month in January.

It is one of the few handful of games to get a legendary ranking in rpgland. Read the full review here: http://rpgland.com/games/reviews/ni-no-kuni-wrath-of-the-white-witch/

Anyone play the demo? This game is beautiful like playing a cartoon and it has great gameplay judging by the demo. This is one rpg I've had my eye on and it looks to be worth the wait.

As I had said before, totally getting this when it comes out. I didn't know there was a demo out already, though. Gonna have to look into that.

Yeah I saw the topic by going back and had to combine them. Lol oops. The demo has a timer which sucks but it is very fun! It has two segments of the game in which you can play.

No worries. XD

Two segments you say? Nice~ Gonna have to talk with my brother tomorrow (or I guess that should be later today?) seeing as he's sort of "in charge" of the PS3 ATM.
