Sure, he had a weak start, but I think by the end there he had perfected what I hear as Sonic. Drummond was almost perfect, too. I like Roger Craig Smith's acting a lot - he knows how to feel like Sonic. He sounds way too old to me, though. As for Jaleel White, he was PERFECT for a classic Sonic.

Flying Battery Act 1 Posts: 918 Group: C Rank Hero Member #12,994 Joined: May 25, 2012 Gender: Male Country: Canada Game Currently Playing: Final Fantasy X HD	I'm a huge Adventure fan, so my vote sits with Ryan Drummond. xD He and Jason Griffith are both amazing, but Drummond shows a more compassionate side of Sonic that no other voice has given him. Jason Griffith had the perfect sounding voice for Sonic, but Drummond was the ideal compassionate hero style Sonic. By the end of his run as Sonic, I think Griffith was a better Sonic than Drummond ever was, but there's something special in Drummond's voice which just plain sings "Sonic" for me. I really like Roger Craig Smith too. He acts really well, and portrays Sonic's big attitude about as close to perfectly as I could ask for after Griffith, but he lacks something that Drummond and Griffith both had: He just plain doesn't sound like Sonic. His acting his brilliant, but his voice just doesn't work for me. Jaleel White was a decent Classic Sonic, I think. He had the attitude down even better than Roger Craig Smith does for Sonic. But, as with Smith, he just doesn't sound like Sonic to me.

I guess, the emotion he puts into voicing Sonic I enjoy, especially in games like Unleashed and Black Knight. The guy who voices Sonic in the OVA(As I'm pretty sure it isn't Jaleel White) is in a close second though.

At least, that's what I think. His voice acting in Sonic X was a bit lackluster, but his performance in Unleashed (the clips I've seen) are brilliant. It basically dances in front of me and says, "I'm Sonic! Right here!" So yes. I chose him. = ] ~~( Now let's make these same topics for Shadow, Knuckles, Tails, and Amy. Yes. )~~

Smith honestly has done a good job and you have to believe, that like Griffith, he will only get better with time, I don't get how he "doesn't sound like Sonic" because he sounds plenty enough like him to me. xP I never really liked Drummond, he was just too flat and bland for my liking. And Jaleel White was awesome, it's just too bad he couldn't win Dancing with the Stars. :C

Smith not sounding like Sonic, I suppose that no one will after Griffith. Griffith's voice is literally "Sonic" to the core for me. I prefer Drummond for reasons in my post above, but no voice actor will sound as much like Sonic as Griffith did for me. I can see that. In SA, at least, he was a bit on the bland side. Some of his voice acting in SA2 is a bit bland, but overall he had improved a lot. His voice work in Heroes, though, that is amazing. Unfortunately, most of the rest of the game didn't quite live up to it for me, haha. xD;

He's just too old for a 16 year old Sonic. His acting is very high quality, it's just how he sounds, to me. Also, to be fair on Drummond, he was forced to lip-sync to the animations for the first SA. That would really make it more difficult to add emotion!

Awful. The acting is decent, but I just can't get over how bad the voice is that he puts on..

He had the perfect voice to fit with Sonic, on Sonic Unleashed he was perfect. His voice was a just a perfect fit IMO. Craig is cool, but it just doesn't sound like Sonic to me, though he is slowly growing on me. White was great, but his voice was only good for cartoons IMO.

I still can't use this. Posts: 6,546 Group: Former Monarchs Member #6,722 Joined: March 16, 2008	I never got the complaint that Roger sounds too old for Sonic and yet the rest of the 30 (and in Junchi's* case, 40) year olds somehow magically make him sound like a 15 year old. I've never heard a 15 year old sound the way Sonic sounds, literally never, because 15 year olds aren't 30 and 40 year olds. xP Anyway, I feel like Roger is the one who has displayed the best combination of acting ability and tone out of the English cast. It probably has something to do with the new voice direction, but considering the range of roles he's successfully taken on, Roger is immensely talented. But I still have a soft spot in my heart for Ryan, because regardless of the circumstances, he sounded the most enthusiastic of the actors. * Why was Junichi Kanemaru left off of this poll? I mean, he's only been doing the role for the longest time out of any actor Sonic's ever had. Yanno, not like he's important or anything. (My vote was going to go to him.)
