I'm sure majority of you kind of figured it was only a matter of time. Looks like they're also shooting for 25 more years of the blue bomber. Although, nothing of a title in general has been told I'm hoping for more Mega Man X.

Read here.

Note: I couldn't find anything on Capcom's official site (US).

Discuss maybe?

Well. I Guess Capcom isn't made of fools.

But I will wait and see what comes first before getting excited.

I'm not a fan of mega man and I've never played one but I'm glad capcom is finally listening to their fans and giving them what they want.

Good vibes.
I'd imagine that it would be another main-series Mega Man game. Mega Man 11, that is.

One hundred Thousand people signed up wanting Mega Man Legends 3.
ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND!
The game was about 90% finished.
And Capcom cancelled it because of 'lack of interest' . . .

Yeah Capcom, I call Bullsh*t on this.

I don't see why companies forget their fans to try to appeal to the masses! It's their fans that make them money not call of duty people who will never buy their games anyway. It's like Square Enix, everyone wants Versus XIII and yet they keep forcing these sequels for XIII down our throats.... No one wanted XIII sequels anyway. Lol

I feel that the gaming industry have become nothing more than a cash-cow and Crapcom is one to blame. Yes, everyone and there mother is wanting MML3. But if Capcom has cancelled the game for reasons as low as saying "the fans weren't committed as much as they should" (which is complete bullcrap), I wouldn't be surprised if they make a completely new game or if they do make MML3, I wouldn't have any good expectations of it. All we can do is wait :3

Oh.

Oh I hope that's not right.

Because if it is, that just makes me think even lower of Capcom.

Sheesh sheesh sheesh. The first two Legends games were huge parts of my childhood, so obviously I was beyond disappointed at Capcom's decision to cancel MML3, and even more angry at their reason. But this was a long time ago, and can we not turn this into a bash Capcom thread? I still like Capcom for their franchises, like Ace Attorney and Resident Evil, etc.

I said this several times already, but the team behind Versus XIII has little to do with the XIII sequels. Even if these didn't exist, we would still have little details about Versus like we do now. The team working on Versus are the ones behind Kingdom Hearts, and the project's status is up in the air right now.

Also, Square actually asked the fans if they're open to the idea of XIII-2. And the ending of XIII-2 pretty much asks for a sequel. I wouldn't want the story to be left incomplete like that. (At least it sounds like Lightning's Return will be the last main Final Fantasy before XV or whatever.)

You guys forget that not everyone at Capcom is committed to making great games. The company has to appease its shareholders, many of which are organizations comprising a variety of people who don't care about games, just about money. The CEOs may care more, but they are probably pushed by their marketers to not appease fans. Some of the marketing team might see the situation as "The fanbase is established; many leave, but few new users come in."
And that is complete BS.

Mad happy at this announcement, though. I hope to see Megaman's 50th anniversary!

Fenroar: Capcom only have themselves to blame for being at odds with some of their fanbase lately. Fans of the Mega Man series have probably been around the longest, so naturally they'll be the most vocal when Capcom wrongs them. The only games I can think of that they've released in recent memory are MvC3U, SFxTK and Resident Evil 6. Add the fact that for the former two they expect you to fork out another 20 bucks or so to unlock stuff that's on the disk, and you can understand why some of their fans would be disillusioned with them.

As for Ace Attorney, we didn't even get a release for Investigations 2, which really rustled my jimmies. I can't keep singing praises for a company that's mostly cancelled or outright refused to give me the stuff I care about.

Also, in response to the question posed by Metallix, what Fwiss said. If they appeal to the masses, they get more money. Why make sure the smaller group of fans who care about your most beloved IPs happy when you can make the zombie obsessed masses fork out another 80 bucks for the next instalment of Resi 6? Answer is, you don't. You follow the dollar sign, which unfortunately most companies seem to go with nowadays.

As for this announcement, I'm glad to hear they acknowledge that Mega Man still exists, but I'm not getting my hopes up until I see something. I'd love to see something new from the Blue Bomber, actually. Not necessarily a whole new type of game, but something fresh. Then again, I'd be happy with a new Classic or X series title, too.

But yeah. I'm remaining mellow until we're certain something is coming out for sure. MML3 was too hard a blow for me last time. ĶI

I had a strange thought. Maybe what they might be stirring up is possibly reworking Mega Man Legends 3 into a console title rather a handheld. Maybe both.

There's always room for mind changing.

I wouldn't mind that if it meant the game was getting a release at some point. Just make sure there's a Wii U version coming and I'll be happy.

That said, I doubt that's what's happening. Capcom is just being Capcom, and frankly I'll be surprised if we ever see MML3 outside of concept art.
