Gran Turismo 5 has surpassed 9 million settling in at 9.1 million in just under two years! As always Europe is the biggest contributor to GT sells. The only time it did not was GT3 and that's because it was bundled with many PS2s in North America.

A breakdown shows North America at 2.2 million, Europe at 5.7 million, and Japan/Asia at 1.05 million. Considering everybody was saying how 5 would never reach the previous GT numbers I'd say that's impressive. It's very close to surpassing GT2 and when it has had 5+ years on the market it'll probably be at GT4 numbers.

Thats pretty impressive. I wonder if its explosion in sales would mean other companies may try their hand at racing games?

They already have. Forza is a series that was inspired by GT and there have been others too but not to the success of the GT series. At nearly 70 million total it is in the top 15 highest selling franchises of all time.

They just came out with an awesome update that added/changed things and fixed bugs. They've been updating the game since it came out and it's actually very different than when it came out 2 years ago. I'd also like to add that this game looks awesome in 3D!

Well I'll just put this here but GT5 just got the Corvette C7 prototype as free DLC. Just like the GT-R before it, this means when it's unveiled officially in January we'll have the production version.

Yeah it's definitely a long game so you'd want to get that out of the way before hand. Tackling two games of that size would be difficult. It's only $20 normally anyway.

I still have several games I need to finish. Uncharted 3, Alan Wake, Forza 4, some side missions on Assassin's Creed III, Borderlands 2, Halo Reach, Ghost Recon, my unopened copy of Dishonored..... Just to name a few.

I should get back into GT5 as there were a lot of races I wanted to clear at first. I guess I stopped because I didn't understand how to properly play B Spec. But now I have an excuse. As I bought the game late (the XL Edition) I have all the DLC vehicles as far as I know but, however, I choose not to use them for any reason. This will more than likely go with this new one. In a sense I guess it's kind of pointless to players, like me, who don't use them.
