Becuase this issue is basically not part of the Archie Sonic storyline, everything will be posted outside of spoiler tags. This issue is pretty much a tie-in for the summer olympics. The issue starts with Sonic drooling over the olympic "rings" he's going to win, but little does Sonic know that Eggman is lurking in the shadows planning to sabotage the events! He decides to run over his schemes with his lackeys -- the Chaotix are capture in a special boat trap; Knuckles, Big, and Silver are knocked out at the hammer throw; Rouge, Amy, and Blaze are tricked by teleporting hurdles and the sandpit is full of robots. Cream and Marine notice something fishy is going on and quickly head over to tell Sonic, Tails, and Shadow. Eggman finally makes his presence known to Sonic and challenges him to win the competitions against Metal Sonic. Cue a bunch of challenges and Sonic eventually finds himself tired out from it all. Before all hope is lost, Sonic looks to the olympic flag and is empowered by the olympic spirit! He finishes the last trial and saves his friends! The comic ends with a small mini-installment of the current arc in Archie Comics. Spoiler: click to toggle Where Sonic, Tails, and Amy are chasing Eggman to Albion. They reach their destination to see the place is already under siege. Meanwhile, Knuckles is trying his best to get a link to Nicole in attempt to help him protect Angel Island. He then receives a distress signal and finds himself heading to Albion as well to help his people. I really have no words for this issue as with SU #45. The only redeeming thing is that there is a small tie-in to the ongoing arc. The story started off ok and got quite corny near the end, but I wasn't expecting anything fantastic going into this issue. I really just wish they didn't dedicate most of the pages for this issue to a goofy filler. I said it before, I'll say it again, these little mini-stories should just be shoved in where they belong. They aren't worth the dedicated comic. If you buy your comics at the local comic store, I'd say only pick this up if for the small tie-in, and I really wouldn't recommend it to be honest (Just skim and read it in the store!). Just stay tuned for the epic that comes next month.

Which was needless boring filler. Roll on the next issue of SU, I'm quite looking forward to the Chaotix arc. SU getting back to how it should be; exploring alternate personalities within the Sonic universe. I don't want to derail this thread too much with the potential of that arc, but considering the complete lack of content in #242 I don't really see too much harm in discussing upcoming plot(spoiler-free of course). It's sort of related, honest.
