 With this topic, I should be pretty much caught up, perhaps at the cost of 5 million topics. This issue (and the next normal comic issue) are different in the sense they aren't part of an arc, but more of little tie-ins with the games. This issue is for Sonic & All-stars racing. I will not be using spoiler tags because this is more of a "just for fun" tie-in which really has no impact.

Sonic and Tails are in another universe where various SEGA stars such as Ai-Ai and Beat come together to have fun and race each other. The scene begins with various SEGA characters (and Danica Patrick) talking it up with one another, catching up and admiring their fellow racers homelands. Then in drives Eggman who says he's going to win the race and take over every ones home worlds.

The races begin and Eggman uses his dirty tricks to get into the lead. Sonic decides on a plan, but needs his fellow races to help. While Eggman can take them down one-by-one, he can't deal with them all at once. Through some teamwork, Sonic and friends beat Eggman and finish the race. However, they realize no one was keeping track of who won, so Sonic proposes some more racing decide the victor. The story then ends with an advertisement for the game.

I really don't have much to say. I have a subscription, so I really have no control over the issue. If I knew sooner, there may have been a way to omit this issue.

All-in-all I feel this issue is much more akin to the mini-stories that were in the main comics and I'd have preferred they did such. Or even have this and the Summer Olympics issue (#242) as a standalone special issue like they used to do long ago.

This issue is overall pretty negligible. It was an alright story, but I feel it would be much better suited to a few pages in the main story. It's certainly not worth the whole comic book dedicated to it. I'm much more interested in the next arc which will feature the Chaotix.

 The only reason I've bought this(and will end up buying 242 of the main series) is because I need them to keep my collection up to date. Frankly, I've dreamt better stories up while sitting on the toilet. This issue was majorly rubbish my opinion, and I highly doubt 242 will be any different. I mean... how can you cover the Mario/Sonic/Olympics game without the lil fat plumber?

Meh. Roll on a return to the main plot, it's beginning to build up towards 250 nicely.
