Yeah, I'm just going to ask a random question because it does apply to me a lot. Who here can type without having to look at what they are typing?

I don't have to look at the keyboard, which is good. It makes me faster at doing things like typing down posts for role plays or doing essays. I learned in sixth grade how to type perfectly.

I'm about half and half, I need to look at the keyboard to start the first word or two then I don't really need to do it for the rest of the paragraph.

Break out the L-word. The other L-word.
I'm a pretty good typist, yeah. I don't really need to look at the keyboard at all, and I can type about 75 to 80 words per minute. That's fairly above average, so I've heard.

I can type fast, if I want to I can type without looking on the keyboard but I prefer to start off looking so I know my hands are placed right. But yeah, I type faster than most of my friends.

Yeah, I can type without looking. About 80-85 words a minute. I can also text without looking, which my family thinks is a feat worthy of a documentary because they always comment on my texting. :|

S'my business. D:<

I can type without looking, but I usually check it half-and-half. If I have ideas flowing, I can type pretty darn fast.

But if it's for school? It may take me hours. XD A serious lack of ideas...

Texting is different, however. I look at my keyboard. Otherwise, there are so many annoying typos...

I can type pretty fast without looking. I guess it's natural, really, having owning some form of computer since I was 8. Plus my phone has a qwerty keyboard, I asked specifically for it. xP

So yeah, I've been ruined by the internet~

I can type as fast as I can in 4 years time, so it's like I'm constantly speeding up, I can also type without looking at the keyboard, helps with playing on the Xbox and PS3 too

I don't look at the keyboard. I might glance at it every once in a while but I don't really need to, and I can type in the dark or while talking to someone, which is always helpful. I don't do this "touch typing" thing they teach in classes--it's just that I got my first personal computer when I was seven, and I've been writing stories with a keyboard ever since. Makes me feel good, since I had folks tell me I couldn't be a good typist unless I went to school to learn touch typing. They were wrooong, bwahaha. >:D
I love programming! I work at Mommatown as a programmer on sites like Vincent Martella's, Don Leslie's and IPO Boutique. When I'm not doing that I'm usually writing game mods. <3

good shot Bonbon, but maybe you should slow down a bit there, since you missed a letter and added an extra one in...

You're right. Usually from 75 to 90 is above average. Anything over, which my highest was 104 from the last time I took a typing test, would just be advanced.

Usually from 30 to 74 is average.

This, pretty much. xD

Although, mostly, if I look to my keyboard it's right when I put my hands on it to make sure they're in the right place. I suppose those little bumps on 'F' and 'J' should give me a pretty good idea of whether or not I'm in the right spot, but I don't really think of those often right when I put my hands on the keyboard.

And then there's this symbol: '. I can never seem to use my pinky for the ' symbol, for some reason. I need to force myself. Otherwise, I literally move my whole hand and use my pointing finger or ring finger.

But, I type pretty fast, so this doesn't slow me down much.

And then there's texting, or typing on phones in general. My focus is pretty much the keyboard. xD I occasionally fall into my habit of typing on the computer, in which I watch where the words are appearing, but if I make a typo I have to go back and fix it through focusing all of my attention on the keyboard itself.

My average wpm is 67 presently, but when my typing quality was at its peak I had a wpm higher than 100.
