I gotta say I like it better than the current slim which is slightly bland.. ![]() More images Assassins Creed 3 bundle for $299 with 500gb hdd, 1 month of PS Plus. More info! Here's a video unboxing which shows off how it works. I think Sony are actually in a better position than ever because for the first time, this holiday, they aren't the most expensive on the market. For the same price as a basic Wii U you get 500gb and an awesome game(assassins creed 3), it's just way more value. People going out to buy gifts for the holidays will see this and they can essentially piggyback off of Nintendo's new console hype which is probably why they didn't feel the need to drop the price as I'm sure they would have if the Wii U was only $250. Aside from cornering the holiday market and proving more storage to those who don't buy tertiary HDDs, I don't see the point in releasing another model. Slim works just fine. |

While I fully understand Sony's aspirations for releasing this model, and the over all design is very nice (Lovely retro feel to it in my opinion) I can't see it being that big a hit this late on. Sure there will be the crowd that will always want to update to the latest model, but that aside those that want an PS3 will surely have gotten one by now, and those looking for a replacement to an existing PS3 would be better off getting the cheaper original slimline version considering the PS4 is due out in a year or 2. |

Well, sure makes me wish I had 300 bucks to shell out for a new PS3. D: |

I do like the retro look as well. I'll be getting one then selling my current one on Craigslist. It'll end up only being half the price and I've needed to upgrade my HDD. Plus assassins creed 3 comes with it so not too bad. As far as sells go it still has steam in it and because of the Wii's decline it has been the best selling console worldwide. Plus the PS1/2 ended up selling the most in their latter years. PS2 sold its highest at $199 and the PS3 still isn't that price. I think they should have dropped the price a little though but it does add way more value compred to the previous models. |
