(Blatantly stolen from Witty Ladykiller Wario/MS of SSMB) Welcome, one and all, to the First Annual Sonic Blast Racing Grand Prix! Ah, but this isn't ordinary racing, you see, it's racing Transformed! (Note to self: fire marketing guys) We're all excited about Sonic's newest racer, in which he's joined by several of his SEGA friends(and foes), but honestly, wouldn't you rather be the one racing? Of course you would! Now, here are our hosts, Cubot and Orbot! Cubot: Howdy! Orbot an' Cubot reportin' fer duty, sir! Orbot: Oh, dear. It seems you've misplaced your voice chip again. Cubot: Holy tootin', yer right! It'll be mighty annoyin' to have to write all of ma dialogue in cowboy speak! Orbot: I suppose it brings some unneeded variety. Uh, guys, the rules? Cubot: Shoot! He's right! On with the rules! All ya greenhorns are allowed to post once per race! Yer post can be as wee as a few paragraphs, but no longer'n five! After all y'all have posted yer piece, ya all vote via PM to decide who had the best little story! The Poll's winner get's 1st place! Orbot: I think that covers it pretty well, don't you? So, to go over them again, real quick: -Each race will last until everyone participating has posted once. -Vote for a racer with a Pm saying who had the best snippet! Spectators can join the PM poll too! -Each post must be at least 2 paragraphs, but no more than 5. -You can use basic items (from any Sega game, such as Speed Shoes and Remote Rocket), racing skill, and track gimmicks, but no All-Star moves (except in your winning paragraphs, if you really want to). -You can change the terrain with transforming, if you'd like, but please keep it consistent. -You can (and should) include other forum members, Sega characters, and the announcers in your story post. -You must write from the POV of yourself and not a Sega character. -Please do not chat during races; talking about the game and stuff is fine as long as there isn't a race going. Orbot: If there's anything we left out, kindly send the organizer a PM detailing it, as we'd like to keep this topic free of OoC posts. Cubot: Or ya get the long arm of the law! Orbot: Was that really necessary? Er, yes. Anyway, I'll be joining in too, because I'm bored. If you want to join the racing sensation that's sweeping Sonic Blast, send me a PM with your vehicle name, description, how it preforms, your alias for the game and I'll add you to the list of racers, which will be found below. --- Racers and Vehicles FourCartridge, in the Lancia Delta: A light, nimble rally car that can conquer any road, or lack of! Top Speed: || Acceleration: ||| Handling: ||||| Off-Road: |||| Weight: | Josh, in the Shade Bike: A motorbike that goes from 0-60 in a snap! The hover engine doesn't do any wonders to traction though... Top Speed: ||| Acceleration: ||||| Handling: | Off-Road: ||| Weight: ||| FiniteZero, in the Egg Bike: This tribute to Eggman's ego won't break a speed record, but you don't wanna be in its way. Top Speed: | Acceleration: | Handling: ||||| Off-Road: ||| Weight: ||||| Psych, in the Psych-Out: Tarmac fears the sparks this sound-barrier blaster can create, however, the motorbike should fear any opposing vehicle. It also isn't exactly a handling dream. Top Speed: ||||| Acceleration: |||| Handling: || Off-Road: ||| Weight: | Shady the Hedgehog, in the Black Tornado: This urban exotic can take anything the streets can throw at it! Top Speed: |||| Acceleration: ||||| Handling: |||| Off-Road: | Weight: | --- Tracks Green Hill Zone: Sonic's iconic level is perfect for beginners, complete with lake boating and cliff flights! [Land/Sea/Air] Casino Park: As the racers travel this neon-painted landscape, be on the lookout for pinballs on the road, and then ride down the BINGO Highway, leading to a massive flight around the gambling city. [Land/Air] Aquarium Park: This interstellar water-park is the perfect place for sea-based racing. Practice your boating skill, test your vehicle's seaworthiness, and hopefully get chummy with the sharks. [Sea] Sandopolis Zone: A twisty, narrow, and sand filled path eventually gives gives way to a soaring flight over quicksand in this desert dash. [Land/Air] Scrap Brain Zone: This industrial nightmare may have a simple layout, but oceans of wastewater and hazards galore make it undrivable for all but the most skilled. [Water/Air] Egg Fleet: High above in the stratosphere, Dr. Eggman's air fleet roars forward. Leap from ship to ship, cruise by fighters, and avoid the astronomical drop from the heavens. EDIT: We are starting! First track is Green Hill Zone! Orbot: Everyone, please, take your seats as we sing the SEGA national anthem! Cubot: I reckon I best take of mah hat. Orbot: You aren't WEARING a hat. Cubot: Every'un, please join me in this here national anthem. SEEEEEEEGAAAAAAAAA! Orbot: Oh, that always gets me all oily-eyed! Everyone, the first race will start in exactly five minutes! Five minutes, everyone! I looked around as the two bickering robots droned over the PA system. The competition was no slouch, as I could pick out a few people like Beat, Metal Sonic, and BD Joe, but my Lancia was a 6 time rally champion, an no slouch. Green Hill was an easy track, sure, but that only meant less things to get in the way. Getting into my car, I started the ignition and rolled out into the track. The crowd cheered as the starting lights went from red to yellow, engines revving deafeningly. After what seemed like forever, the green light lit, and everyone blasted off the line. The Delta quickly found itself being outpaced by the faster vehicles. My handling skill was being wasted on Green Hill's easy curves and a slower top speed meant I couldn't catch up. Luckily, An item capsule gave me a Speed Shoe, and the boost launched me back in the race. Metal Sonic noticed me passing along, and growled something metallic as he slid towards the Delta, almost ramming me off the road. I pressed the brake to get out of the way, ruining my speed. The metallic clone then dropped a Mine, trying to get me out of the way for good. I swerved out of the way as we approached a lake and the front runners began to transform their vehicles. As the two Drones went on and started the countdown, I turned on my hover engine, then got onto my bike as the lights started changing colour. When the Lights went from red, to yellow, then to green, I started on my bike, although I was fast, I couldn't steer well, as of on the first turn, I was scraping my bike on the wall, making me lose momentum and eventually going near last place. Halfway through the race I managed to get near 3rd place, but by the time I passed the driver in 3rd place, someone in a rally car got a speed shoe and boosted past me, making me in 5th place, fortunatly I got a KO glove and launched it, hitting the racer in 4th place. although I was in 4th, I was still behind the rally car, thanks to several other drivers behind me throwing KO gloves and a rocket, and because of this I went into 6th place. As soon as we reached a lake, although everyone transformed their vehicles, my bike didn't need to transform, and as I went on the water, I was driving over it, I managed to overtake several other drivers and got into 3rd again, but I wasn't fast enough to reach first place, and it didn't look like I was going to win this race in front... |

Trying to ignore the ramblings of the two Eggman robots, I kept my eyes on the lights. Red. Closing my eyes and beginning to rev my engines. Okay. I thought, revving the motorbike. I gritted my teeth. I felt ready. I calmed myself, and tried to focus. Yellow. I was ready to roll. I looked around at my competition. It seemed like a very professional racing bunch. I suddenly felt tense. I knew it was gonna be a tough race. Closing my eyes, I waited for the final light to glow, and the race to start. Green! I heard the motors blast away, and with the quickest reflexes I could muster, I readied my vehicle, and joined the group. Having a good speed max, I was able to swerve through the racers up to 5th. I noticed another vehicle like mine having some tough times with a curve, scraping the wall. Ignoring it, I then realized it was HIS bike that was beating the crowd. Grunting angrily, I went for an item capsule. Out popped a rocket. Aiming my sights just right, I fired the rocket into his bike, and he moved one place behind me; sixth. The racers approached a lake, and I bashed a blue button on the left handle and the motorbike transformed into a nimble little hovercraft. I noticed that same other competitor's bike was not transformed as he rode ahead of me on the top of the water. Not able to do anything, I gritted my teeth and looked forward. I could only hope for victory at this point... |

I listened to the bots bickered and I chuckled to myself. I lied back on my customized Egg Bike. I pulled out an Egg Puff and started to eat it as the racing light turned red. I wasn't in any hurry as I put my feet on the handlebars. Yellow now. I swallowed my first bite. Green. With my right foot, I gunned the gas, sending the Egg Bike forward, though not at a very impressive speed. All the other racers were definitally faster. Not that I care that much. I only entered to play around, not to win. I hit the item capsule, but I didn't even pay any attention to what I got. Probably wasn't important. I noticed a racer having trouble with a turn, not that it mattered. I turned with my feet without an issue. The only thing this thing is any good for is for turning. I took another bite out of my Egg Puff. I noticed the upcoming lake, so I stuffed the rest of the Egg Puff in my mouth and got ready to transform. |

Sitting in the B.T, waiting for the two stupid robots to sart the race I was looking at the other compotion around me. As I was listen to the of my car perfect "pur" I reved it a bit and then when Isaw the lights go yellow aderaline kicked in. It turned green so I full on smashed it into top speed. As soon as I hit the air part of the track I put the B.T into airmode. When I hit the ground a collected a capsul Speed Shoe 'Yes' I used it but as soon as I did I got hitted with a rocket. I was as everyones vbehind sixth place ' Damn it' i thoght as everyones vehicals transformed into the water mode. 'I'm scwred' was one of the many things in my mind as my vehical turned into the water mode.

EDIT: The Casino Park race has begun! Cubot: I struck the ol' Jackpot! I'm rich! Orbot: But you only have 2 Bars... Cubot: Bars, nothin'! It's flashing an making noises like everything else? Now where's ma' chips? Orbot: It only dropped 4... Wait, we're on... Cubot: Oh, shucks! Get the race ready! The two bots hastily announced the start of the race as I started up the Delta. Casino Park had flashing lights galore, all meant to distract; I would have to focus if I even wanted to finish. The other racers, including Reala, BD Joe, and Shadow, took positions as the lights counted down. To the audience, we we all a blur as the green light lit, and off we went. The road immediately started to bend like a rollercoaster, and I used the Lancia's handling to hug the inner wall, staying in the pack. KO Gloves and Missiles filled the air in a whoosh of explosions and KO bells as a slugging match went on between Reala and Shadow. I quietly dodged out of the way hoping to sneak by. Soon enough, I found myself in contention for the lead. I prepped the rally car for the turbo to kick in, but soon found myself noticing the oil pressure gauge. It was dropping fast, and I noticed out of the rear view mirror a few drops of oil on the track surface. My car was leaking at the last possible moment. Only Lancia. With the two bots rushing to start the race, I prepared my bike, because the track turns were rather easy, my shade bike could curve these easily despite the bad handling. I was somewhat right, although I wasn't inside the turn, I still had my balance, and several KO gloves flew past me, and after I hit a powerup container, I managed to get a barrier, so I turned it on, just in time too, because a rocket was aimed for me. fortunatly the rocket hit my barrier so I'm safe, and by the time I got to first, someone launched an RC rocket (The purple rocket which you can detonate anytime...) and it had reached both me and the racer behind me... it blew up, so me and the other racer got sent to 4th and 5th place, which was unfortunate, it looked like I was going to lose this race even though I did good on it... |
