 For those who don't know what Ratchet & Clank is, it's a Sony-exclusive video game series created by independent second-party video game developer, Insomniac Games. The first game (named from after mentioned series) was released in November of 2002 for the PlayStation 2, praised for it's great gameplay, visuals and writing. The series involves two people, Ratchet and Clank, saving the universe from different villians and threats to the universe on nearly a daily basis. Ratchet is a Lombax, a humanoid cat-like animal, while Clank is a backpack-sized robot. All of their games have been released on a Sony console, such as the Sony PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, & PlayStation 3. 11 games have been created in the series, with the 12th & 13th being released this year, an HD collection consisting of the first 3 games, and a downloadable title to celebrate the series' 10th anniversary. All games in the series have gotten positive reviews, and have been commercial successes. For any of you who have played the games, what are your opinions on them, and the series in general. |

I thought the ratchet and clank collection was going to include ALL PS2 R&C games, not just the first three...ah well, at least the classics are awesome |

Ah, Ratchet & Clank. I love this game, yet i only played just only a bit of it. Got the first one when i was like, 9, the demo of it to be more specific. Fell in love with the gameplay, the music, always wanted to get the full one, but i don't have playstation 2, 3 and PSN D: Still, it's pretty awesome, so it deserves it's birthday to be celebrated. |

Ah I love this series. I never got to play the PS2 versions so I will be getting the collection. I had a demo of the first and loved it but never got it. When Size Matters came out on the PSP I had to get it and when I got a PS3 I got Tools of Destruction, Quest for Booty, and A Crack in Time. Never got All For One though. My favorite is definitely A Crack in Time. Also the new R&C is going to be on disc in Europe and will go by R&C QForce. |

I remember playing the first back in 04' I think and thinking that it was one of the funnest 3D platformers to that day but note that I was mostly used to games like Bug!, Super Mario 64, Sonic Adventure and Bubsy 3D (which is one of the funnest games of all time). Over time they released a few more games but unfortunately I never did expand because the series didn't seem all the interesting to me.

The HD collection is coming to North America on Tuesday with an exclusive demo for Sly 4, how awesome is that? It's already out in Europe. I can't wait! I have never played the PS2 Ratchet games apart from a demo of the first one. I am also excited for the new Ratchet & Clank Qforce/Full Frontal Assault. I'll be importing it from Europe because it will only be on PSN in North America which is lame! |

He means Tuesday next week I think. I am a big fan of this series. When I was younger, I played the demos, than one day when I was older, I saw a copy of the third game for cheap at Super Walmart. Since then, Ive been a fan. The third one has also been one of my top favorites of the series largely because it was my first game I owned of the series, the warish story, the xp system for weapons and Ratchet...and the Star ship Phoenix being, like, one of the ships I would love to use for galactic conqu-er exploration which contained trophies and such. |

Just got Full Frontal Assault. Single player campaign is decent but playing co op or online competitive is where it's really addictive and I usually don't like coop in most games or at the least don't feel like its the superior way of playing. Tower defense is so addicting and adding it to Ratchet & Clank was genious! I like Ratchet's new character model as well over the Future model. Overall I still feel like the future games are better but it's a nice change for a change. |
