Tired of Super Sonic?

Agreed. Personally, I don't think we NEED everyone pulling a super form out of their behinds; but definitely going back to discretionary use as a rule would be fun.

Especially like in Episode 2 of Sonic 4; where one can just combo with Tails to drop Super.

Though, that said, there are instances where a forced Super mode battle is more justifiable. Like if said battle happens in low Mobius orbit; i.e. Doomsday.
Indeed, there is nothing more repulsive than these monsters that defy nature and are known by the name of witcher, as they are the offspring of foul sorcery and witchcraft. They are unscrupulous scoundrels without conscience and virtue, veritable creatures from hell capable only of taking lives. They have no place amongst decent and honest folk.

I think that Silver and Blaze would look great in super form judging from the unofficial pictures and fan fictions people have made since those characters were put in the Sonic The Hedgehog series. I think having Knuckles or Tails go super form would be to predictable. I mean even if Sega did make one of them go into super form they couldn't really make any good story plots out of it! Mainly because all of the ideas have already been put into fan fictions and other unofficial forms of art!

I'm with Blare here: Super Sonic should become an optional extra. The whole Sonic going super in the last part is predictable, but that may be due to the Chaos Emeralds themselves not being handled well. Sonic Team should do something new with them, and maybe redesign Super Transformations while they're at it; Look at Mario and the claims he's becoming a giant rehash.

I'm not tired of Super Sonic per se, but I'm more tired of the fact the last boss/main boss is usually always required as a super battle. I think it'd be fun if they made a game where the Chaos Emeralds were more optional, but have the perk making levels/boss fights easier to do. Perhaps even make it something like where you can get away without having the Chaos Emeralds, but it can unlock another "true" stage with "true" ending. I think changing it up wouldn't hurt.

Idealistically I'd want to see some of the other characters that already have the ability to go super to do so as well. It's just sort of sad Sonic is the only one who does it now. I know he's the star, but can't we see Super Knux, or Shadow, or Silver, Burning Blaze maybe? They don't have to pop up all the time, just maybe the occasional cooperative fight from time to time? Or something like S3&K?

That is so true. There are other characters in this maybe i would actualy like to see one of the girls go super. :idea: But it is also annoying how you have to play Sonic all the time in MOST of the games. =/

Wave from the babylon rogues should go super becouse shes an idnependent woman who know what she want. Super Amy should come true too, same with Rouge, Chramy, Big, Vanilla, Crehm, Eggman Nega, Cubot, Marine, Tikal, Super Sonic, Chip, and Tails.

Tired on seeing supers in general.. Every time I see a 'super' I think "Hey, time to go Dragonball Z on these nubs!"

Generally if they can find other ways of using the Chaos Emeralds like Burning Blaze, maybe just maybe I wouldn't be tired of it.

Mystic Knuckles, Power Tails, Dark Sonic, Overdrive Silver, Hyper Amy, etc etc.


Just not: Super Sonic, Super Shadow, Super Silver, Super Knuckles, Super Tails, Super Amy, Super Blaze. Enough with the supers!!!!

Not that I like bandwagons, but I agree with a lot of the opinions already posted.

First, the number and frequency of super forms is already too high (don't get me started on originality). The ones who already canonically can, fine, keep it. But don't add anyone to the roll. Use the ability sparingly, not as as a final battle plot device.

I believe that the S3&K method worked well: The game could be won without the Emeralds, but if you wanted to and were skillful enough you could take it farther and go for a 'true' final battle and 'true' ending.

Speaking of plot devices and S3&K, on a bit of a tangent: I'd like to see the Super Emeralds again and have some background on them. The world has been in worse peril than the time long ago that the bad Doctor took Angel Island out of the sky, but the Super Emeralds haven't come into play again? The Warp Rings went straight to the shrine, distance is no object. Maybe it was just an island security measure. The world may never know.

My main point, back on topic, is this: Clean up the act, disconnect super forms as a mandatory endgame plot device, and when they come into play use already-established super forms/equivalents sparingly.

I'm not really tired of Super Sonic persay, but I would like him to become an option in some of the future Sonic games, rather than being mandatory for the final boss. That's one of the reasons why I liked Colors - Sonic didn't have to go Super to beat the last boss of that game.
You're forgetting the DS version. Sonic turned Super to defeat the Nega-Mother Wisp.


Personally, I'd like to see something done with the World Rings again. Sure, we got Darkspine Sonic, but he only used THREE out of the seven; and plus, he only used the rings with NEGATIVE emotions. So, what would happen if he used the other 4, or all of them?

I pretty much agree with everything you said. We don't need any more super forms in the games. Nor does every final battle have to have Super Sonic playable. To be honest, either scenario makes the Super Forms less 'super' in my opinion.

Okay, I can't lie, there are times when I get kind of tired of Super sonic...but not completely. I just wish for a change that someone else or other people join in besides Shadow. How cool it would be if Sonic/Tails or Sonic/Knuckles becomes super together, or let someone else to take Sonic's place for a chance to go.

I still can't use this.

Super Sonic needs a complete overhaul, especially if he's going to continue to helm the final boss battle, because as it stands he's both completely disconnected from the actual game play most of the time, which serves to devalue all of the work you went into perfecting the normal gameplay style to even get to that point, and mediocre in general due to his clunky controls. I've always thought that Super Sonic should merely play like regular Sonic, but with the ability to fly either at certain intervals or as an extra dodging mechanic.

Super Sonic also needs to stop being the end-game unlockable. Keep him unlockable once you beat the final boss, but there's more pertinent rewards to be had for collectables, like a final level or area of some sorts.

To elaborate on my previous post, maybe if the game wasn't just about "You are super sonic, just do a Headbutt to destroy the enemy!" then maybe I'd enjoy Super Sonic a bit more.

SS on Genesis: Stand still and let boss defeat himself.
SS on Dreamcast: Ram into enemy at full speed to defeat enemy
SS on Gamecube: Ram into enemy at full speed to defeat enemy
SS on Ps3, 360 & Wii: Ram into enemy at full speed to defeat enemy.

Honestly, even if I was completely ashamed of Sonic Heroes, atleast there was more to it than just gaining speed and ramming into the enemy. If you wanted to defeat Metal Sonic without getting owned by every object he'd throw at you, you had to put away the "Super Sonic used Headbutt to destroy everything hue hue" to go on the defensive to destroy the objects.

I wouldn't even mind if they added a bit more combative game play with Super Sonic as they did with the Werehog in Sonic Unleashed where you had to quickly press buttons to perform awesome finishers. Maybe with Super Sonic you have to press and/or jam buttons to perform rather awesome attacks during an in-game cutscene. That's just my opinion though.

Imo Sonic X does more justice with making the super forms more tolerable compared to the many years the video games has presented super forms.
