I have never played an actual Sonic game ( I don't count Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games ). So, I just wanted to know game is best in your opinion, and reasons why. ^^

I love plots. ^^; Thanks for the recommendations Yami. <3

And wow, I should write these down! Thanks for the responses everyone. ^^
Ohh, yeah. xD If you love plots, and are a fan of a more fighting-based game, I would recommend Sonic Battle because it's just that, with some RPG elements thrown in. I loved it.
asdfjk. <3

So many people have recommended Sonic Colours! I guess I know which modern game to play first. : 3

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhh... Colors was pretty good, if you want a game that's gonna last you like twenty minutes.

Could've done with more planets. Like, way more planets. It's an alright game, it's just way too short with no replay value. Generations had this problem too. If you want a game that you can play forever even after you beat it, get Sonic Adventure 2.

Hmm. Only twenty minutes? That'd last me a day or two. = /

Oh? What console is SA2?

The more popular port is for the GameCube, and the original version was for the DreamCast.

It's also gonna be on XBLA and PSN later in the year. October, I think?

I object to your claims
I'd strongly recommend any of the Classics to start out.

Welll, not twenty minutes. xD; That's a bit of an exaggeration. Still, it is one of the shorter Sonic games. But the replay value isn't so bad. It's fun, and the fun really takes forever to die down in Colours. I would have loved it if it were longer, but I can't say I have any serious complaints with what I did get.

And, SA2 was on the Gamecube and the Dreamcast. Both of which are old enough systems by now that you would be better off waiting for the XBLA (and PSN) HD version of the game, rather than scouring through internet shopping websites for a copy of the game in good enough condition that it actually works without any serious glitches. Still, it's well worth it. xD I never really did get to own SA2, but I've played parts of it, and it really is one of the more replayable Sonic games as well. If I get an X-box 360, or more likely a PS3, SA2 HD is pretty much one of the first games on my to-get lest.

Ah! Luckily I have both of those consoles, a Wii, and a DS.

But there's little to no chance I would find those older consoles. = /

Well, then you should be set to go. xD The Wii version of Sonic Colours is the one I recommend, but I have heard that the DS version isn't bad, so maybe it'd be worth a go too if you can afford both. Otherwise, just stick to the Wii version. xD

Yeah, it is too bad. Finding the older consoles could potentially prove to be as difficult as finding SA2 or SA2:B in working condition. Of course, the HD release coming up at some point for XBLA/PSN does still make it so you can get it. xD Also, if you're really into going classic-style with things, I'd recommend you get it for the 360, because Xbox controllers have been consistently relatively similar to the Dreamcast controller. My personal preference is the PSX/2/3 controller, though.

And as X Th has mentioned, the classics are probably available on the Wii store. If not there, and if you feel like trying them, I'm relatively certain that they're available through Steam, for a relatively cheap price.

Well in my opinion Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes. Two gamecube games. :D I think they are amazing because of gameplay and storyline +texture editing. And what do you mean you have not played a sonic game?
I'm Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog!
