Sonic and the Prince of Jellyfish by Sean Gilbert Author's Notes Jam has just won the Royal Lottery, a drawing to decide which of his student class will become the newest of the Crown Princes. His peers were not too happy. They chased him out of the city during a victory celebration. Then, alone in the dangerous ocean, he drifted into a trench where an ancient treasure lay buried: An old, rusty coin. * * * * * * The coin had a cord on it, and he put it around his neck. As the cool metal rubbed against his flesh, all thoughts of the previous night faded away. He swam and swam, higher and higher, faster and faster. He swam for hours. He dodged sharks and killer whales. He felt amazing! And as he got closer to the surface of the water, he could see the sun rising. He sprang out of the water. He held the coin tight and the sea water began washing around him until he was drifting through the air, protected by a coat of water. I feel so clean! he thought, hugging himself and spinning in small circles. Now... back to business. What should I do now? he looked around. Ahead of him was a site he had never dreamed of before. A sandy beach full of colors and vending machines, surfers and whistling life guards. Curiousity got the better of him and he drifted his way to shore. * * * * * This place is beautiful he thought, now looking out over the ocean from the shoreline. The waves sang through the sea. The cool breeze sent water splashing all around him. Blue skies and seashells surrounded him. He studied the beachbums he thought he spied from the distance. I think... These people are all Robots? he decided, focusing on a specific fisherman who was pouring motor oil into the water. YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG! Jam wanted to say. At this point, he did not see any problem with sharing the beach with a bunch of robots, boring as they were. Jam ignored them and tried to go for a run on the beach. He made it less than 10 meters before he got a sick and had to stop. I guess I still have my sea legs He thought. I need to get used to this dry land!! In the distance, the Jiggly jello could hear what sounded like a city and he decided to walk towards the lights and sounds he heard. When he got there, a group of robots were busy building. This time, he decided he would try to ask them some questions. "Hi" said Jam politely. "ALERT!" alarmed the robot, signalling all the other robots to Jam's presence. "Unroboticized Animal approaching. ATTACK MODE INITIATED" beeped the robot. "Uh..." Jam wasn't sure what to do. The robot hit him. Hard. It reminded him of the previous night with Julius. All of his anger welled over and he attacked the robot, breaking it to bits. "STUPID ROBOT!!! I HATE YOU" Jam screamed. But suddenly, he was surrounded by robots. He tried to run, but he just felt sick. "ATTACK" beeped the robot. "Not so fast Nut Box!" Came a voice out of the blue. And no sooner did Jam turn his head to see where the voice came from had a Blue blur busted open all of the robots. Jam just stared at it, his eyes glazing over. I must be dreaming he thought. And when all of the robots had been destroyed and swept into a pile, the Blue blur stopped in front of Jam and helped him up. "Who are you?" Asked Jam, standing up on his feet. "You must be new here." Said the blue spiney figure. "I'm Sonic the Hedgehog!" he said leaning in and annunciating each syllabol. "I think the better question is, who are YOU", he said, poking Jam. And then leaning in closer - too close for comfort, his nostrils flared. SNIFFFF "I'm Jamie Collins. All my frie..." he stopped. "Everyone calls me Jam." He rubbed his fingers together so Sonic could sea how sticky they were. "I'm a Jellyfish!" Sonic blinked, then smiled, and then stood straight up and shook Jam's hand. "Sweet. Nice to meet you Jam. Lets be friends." "I'd like that!" Jam said, smiling too.  Sonic and the Prince of Jellyfish: Part 2 "Where are we going?" asked Jam, finally getting used to moving on dry land. Sonic and he were now jogging down a road in the everglades. "We're going to the Chili Dog stand to meet up with Tails and Knuckles! They're my teammates." Said sonic, holding his stomach as it growled. "Man I'm hungry. Can you jog any faster" "Sure thing blue man" said Jam, speeding up to a nice headstart. Sonic quickly caught up with him. "Nice! But you'll never outrun me, fish face!" Sonic said, catching up with Jam and then running ahead of him. Jam smirked and ran up so the two were running side by side. "Anyone with half a brain can beat a Greasy Pig. Game on!" The two ran for miles, dodging alligators and flamingos down the paved road. Sonic thought he had lost Jam for a minute until Jam popped up on the other side of him. "Hey sonic! Whats a chili dog?!" Sonic fell flat on his face and Jam stopped. "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT A CHILI DOG IS!! If you can get to the chili dog stand in time, maybe you'll get to see one before I eat them all!" Sonic laughed at his dumb joke. Then he got up and sprinted down the street. Jam raced after him. Minutes later, Sonic and Jam were neck and neck. Jam, wanting to be funny, threw some fly paper out in front of sonic, and Sonic got stuck. Afterwards, Jam slipped on his own wet shoes and crashed into Tails, who was coming out of a the Cafe ahead. "OWWWW!" said tails, pulling jellyfish tentacles out of his fur. "THAT STINGS!!" "Sorry" said Jam, his cheeks turning red. "You may want to put some vinegar on that." "Oh... hey tails" Said sonic. "Can you help me get this fly paper off me?" The two got stuck in the fly paper together. Just then, a red, mean looking Echidna walked out growling. "What took you so long pinhead?" said knuckles, eyeing sonic. He lightened up as he saw Jam. "Who's the new guy?" he said. "I'm Jam", jam said. Knuckles and jam shook hands and then knuckles, embarassed said. "You smell like candy..." "I'm a jellyfish!" Jam exclaimed. "Sweeeet! that explains it!" Knuckles said. "Jam is going to pay for dinner!" Joked sonic. "Yeah! right!" said Jam, sarcastically. Sonic and tails had finally managed to get the fly paper off. "You're gonna pay for dinner with that money around your neck!" Sonic poked Jam's chest where the metal plate was gushing out fresh water. "I can't use this! Its a magic coin!" Jam said, clutching the coin. The sea stirred around him. "What? REALLY?!" Said tails. He had just poured vinegar all over himself and was intensely examining the coin around Jam's neck. "But then who will pay for dinner?! I'm starving" Sonic whined. "I will!! Said knuckles, smacking sonic on the back of the shoulder with his spiked fist. Sonic winced. "That is so..." Sonic started. "Unlike you..." Tails finished. "Welllll. Amy gave me her credit card." "GREAT! LET's EAT!" said sonic. * * * * * The small group sat at a corner booth by the window of the Chili Dog Cafe. There were a few other customers seated around them: a cat, a seagull, and a somewhat bubbly deer. Sonic sat tapping his fingers on the table. "So guys... it looks like Robotnik is back yet again." He looked around the room. "Could service BEE any slower?" "Chill out sonic!" Said Tails. "Look! the waitress is coming now!" A stork with pink lipstick and an apron stopped at the table. "Welcome to Chili Dog, home of the Chili Dog, can I take your order?" "Chili dogs all around Ma'am!" Sonic smiled and winked at her. "AND could you make it snappy!?" "Would you like drinks with that?" The group ordered in a clockwise manner. Tails ordered: "Milk please!" Knuckles ordered: "Fruit Punch Please!" Sonic ordered: "Kool aid Please!" Jam ordered: "Diet Coke Please!" "Coming right up!" Said the waitress. Moments Later, the waitress came out with a big tray full of drinks and another tray full of chili dogs. Sonic took two of the chili dogs and started chowing down, washing it down with kool aid. Knuckles and Tails both followed suit - eating slightly less like pigs. "THIS IS A CHILI DOG?!" Jam frowned. "I CAN'T EAT THIS!" "I call dibs!" Sonic shouted. "I'm sorry sir, would you like to order something else?" Asked the waitress, handing him a menu. "This looks good!!" Jam said, pointing at a hotdog with Mayonaise and Jello on it. "I'll take two!" "Two Jell-O Dogs, coming right up!" said the waitress. Another moment later, the waitress came back out with two Jell-O dogs and some drink refills. Knuckles choked on his food and then blurted out, "THAT'S CANIBALISM!!" at Jam. "You're a jellyfish and you're eating Jell-O?" Jam looked puzzled as Sonic put his hand over knuckle's mouth, hushing him. Then he ate his food. "Delish!" he said. Then he washed it down with some ice cold diet coke. Knuckles just watched before Sonic said, "Hey Mary, go pay the bill". Knuckles faced sonic and put the tip of his nose up so it resembled a pig's nose. "Oink Oink Piggy!" And then he got up and went to the register. Just then, two robots came in wearing Roboland T-shirts and holding balloons. "Aw nuts!" said sonic. Tails and He did a tag team on them. "Roboland. A robot's dream come true", tails read from the robots t-shirts. "This must be where robotnik is!" "Then it looks like thats our next stop!" Exclaimed sonic. "To the Hedgehog Mobile!" Sonic said. "Sonic..." Tails said, a drop of sweat protruding off of his forehead. "Its broken, remember." "Oh yeah..." Sonic said, apparently lost in a flashback. "Then I guess we go on foot!" Knuckles said, joining the two. "Yeah! Lets go!" The three of them raced out the door. "UH, GUYS? WAIT FOR ME!" Jam said, racing after them. They stopped and they all laughed.  Sonic and the Prince of Jellyfish: Part 3 "Can't you guys go any faster?" said Jam, tapping his feet on the ground. "You're starting to sound like Sonic, Fish Face!" said Knuckles. "I don't know why you're in such a rush Jam, we could be walking into a trap. Robotnik is totally evil and loves to do stuff like that!" Said sonic. "I'm thirsty..." whined tails. "You can drink some of my magic water!" suggested Jam, clutching the money on his chest. "Um... is that sanitary?" asked tails, sticking his tongue out in disgust. "We're almost there!" Said sonic. "Look! There's some more robots!" "HEDGEHOG ALERT!!" beeped one of the robots. But before it had time to calculate a solution, Sonic had already smashed it. Nuts, gears, wires, and springs scattered across the road. "Roboland Hooo!!" Shouted Tails, spying a large amusement park situated on the boardwalk ahead. Lights and 8-bit music polluted the atmosphere. "THIS IS AWEFUL!" said sonic. "I don't think its so bad. It looks fun!" Said Jam. "No! I mean THIS MUSIC SUCKS!!" said sonic covering his ears. "Just deal with it blue boy." Said knuckles. "I just remembered I hate ferris wheels!" Said knuckles, spying a 50 story tall Ferris wheel streamed with lights and Robots that looked like they had just come out of their package. "Look Sonic! A vending Machine!" said tails, tugging on one of sonic's spines. "I want some juice!" "Does it take credit cards?" asked knuckles, doubtful. "I KNOW!" said sonic. He grabbed the money that was on Jam's neck. He dragged the coin and Jam over to the machine and stuck the coin in. "HEY!!" said Jam. "Stop whining" Said sonic, hitting the juice button on the machine. But the machine short circuited as water started gushing through the mainframe. Sonic backed up and Jam pulled the coin back out of the Machine. It exploded and all of the juice boxes sprung out into the sky. Tails flew up and caught one midair. "YAYY!! thanks sonic!" Said tails. One would almost expect him to start purring like a kitten. "Owww" said Jam, rubbing his neck. "No time for whining, Sticky Fingers, we've got company." Knuckles said, glaring towards the boardwalk. A dozen robots had spotted them. "INTRUDER ALERT! INFORM KING ROBOTNIK!!" beeped the robot. "Aw nuts" the team said together. "SPLIT UP!!! Shouted sonic. Tails flew towards a rollercoaster. Jam headed for the beach. Knuckles reluctantly headed towards the ferris wheel. And Sonic headed for the arcade. * * * * * Tails flew onto a rollercoaster followed by a small army of robots. More and more robots joined the chase as they noticed the two tailed intruder until the rollercoaster was full of passengers. "Not good. Not good." Said tails. This particular roller coaster, The Darwin was the fastest roller coaster ever made. It was advertised with the well known saying "Survival of the fittest". It was a joke of course. NO ONE could survive the ride! The ride twisted and turned as Tails dodged attacks from behind from passenger robots. The cart went through a 300 meter spiral straight down and then shot up, jolted left, and then another spiral. I shouldn't have had all that juice Thought Tails. After about Three minutes on the roller coaster, Tails looked back to see not a single robot left on the roller coaster! they had all fallen off and their parts were scattered all over the ground along with hats, cell phones, and a wallet or two. Tails jumped off the ride and flew away, but he was still dizzy and crash landed into the ferris wheel. * * * * * Jam waded through the water on the beach. Maybe the robots won't be able to walk through water he thought. But the hope was short lived. The robots exteriors were waterproof! Great thought jam. At least 30 robots now surrounded him on all sides. "TSUNAMI!!" He shouted. The robots bought his bluff and as they were looking away, he stuck his money in a slot in one of the robots, and it exploded. Then he jumped over them and did the same thing to one of the robots in the back row. Too many robots he thought. He noticed some rocks on the beach and scooped them up and started throwing them at the robots as hard as he could. Five of the robots caught on fire and he took this opportunity to run further into the water. Some of the robots he had injured started short circuiting as the water gushed into the holes he made. Score!! He thought, and quickly ran back to shore to try again. After a few minutes, all of the robots had been destroyed. But another wave was coming and he started running towards the arcade. * * * * * "Sorry Knuckles!" said tails who had crashed into the seat knuckles was in. Knuckles was frozen in fear from the ride. "Knuckles?" tails said, pinching him. "OWWW!!" Screamed knuckles, shaking the Gondola. "Where are all of the robots that were chasing you?" asked tails. "Don't look down..." said knuckles. Tails immediately looked down. At least 200 hundred robots surrounded the ferris wheel. Not one wanted to get on. Tails spied the control center for the ferris wheel, which was locked in place. The ferris wheel was stuck. "I don't want to talk about it..." Said knuckles. "I have an idea!" Said tails. "I'll fly us down. Together we can take them out!" Said tails. Before tails even finished his sentence, Knuckles was holding onto tails as Tight as he could. Tails started flying. "Alright, here's the deal: I'll throw you at the robot and then you kill it and bounce back up to me! Are you ready?!" "I'm good now!" said knuckles. "FIRE!" "CHERRY BOMB!!!" shouted tails as he threw knuckles. Knuckles bounced back and forth as tails threw him at every robot. When they were done and all of the robots were destroyed, the pair landed. "I'm thirsty!" said tails. FACEPALM - Knuckles. * * * * * Sonic was in the arcade. Only one robot had followed him. It was the only robot that could make him sweat this much. Metal Sonic!  Sonic and the Prince of Jellyfish: Part 4 "Well if it isn't my favorite lug nut. Back again?" Sonic said, face to face with a robotic copy of himself. "How did you manage this time?" "Wi-Fi?" Suggested Metal Sonic. "You're lying!" Sonic snapped. "There's no way you could have survived that last time! Besides! The good Doctor makes sure to keep the download limits at turtle pace!" "Dial-up?" metal sonic said, shrugging. "What do you want this time?" Sonic demanded. "You know the Drill! It's time to du-du-du-du-duel!" Metal Sonic beeped. "Fine... How about..." Sonic looked around the room. "I challenge you to karaoke! If I win, not only do you let us go, but you tell us Robotnik's plan." "And if I win, I fill you full of air and turn you into a Prolate Spheroid for the Eggmanland Eggers Football Team!" the robot beep-chuckled at his nerdy joke. "As if!! Anyways, you go first." The two blue hedgehogs walked to the Karaoke Game. INITIATING DUEL MODE beeped the machine. Metal Sonic picks: Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne. Sonic's draw dropped as Metal Sonic finished with 100,000 points. "You sounded just like Ozzy" he said "I've been practicing." Metal Sonic said (Its so obvious he's blushing right now) Sonic picks: Blue by Eifle 65 ON YOUR MARK, GET SET... SING YOUR LAST WORDS!! "Blue his house with a blue little window and a blue corvette and everything is blue for him cuz he's blue he's blue yeah yeah" And Sonic rocks out. 100,001 points. Sonic put the mic down and looked at Metal Sonic who started running, but as he left the building, Jam smacked headfirst into him, followed by Knuckles and Tails. "Don't let him get away!" shouted sonic. All of a sudden the lights went out. FZZZZT cracked the loudspeaker as the 8-bit music suddenly stopped. Then a familiar voice came over the intercom. "If it isn't my favorite little blue porkchop!" Metal bars covered the building. Mechanical locks clicked into place and Team Sonic was trapped. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE EGGMAN!! I THOUGHT YOU HATED FUN!!" said sonic. FZZZZT"I decided to give my henchmen a place to celebrate!" said robotnik. "CELEBRATE WHAT, CRACKERJACK, YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO CELEBRATE!" FZZZZT"Thats where you're wrong birdbrain!" All of a sudden the floor shook, followed by a huge cloud of dust. "Sonic!" Knuckles pointed outside. "Angel Island just crashed!" FzzFZZFzzT"MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" Laughed Robotnik, followed by - Metal Sonic! Finish them off!!!" and then the intercom turned off. Team Sonic could see an escape pod leaving. The remaining Robots started disassembling Roboland Themepark and following Robotnik with the parts. "Grrrr!!! That fat Jellybelly is gonna get it this time!!" Knuckles said, waving his fist. "Jelly belly?" said Jam nervously. "It.. Its not what you think!!" said Tails. POP Came a sound from the middle of the room. "Don't worry about Metal Sonic!" Sonic said dusting his hands off. "Look, theres a way out!" Sonic said, pointing at a manhole under one of the arcades. "You first" Jam, Knuckles, and Tails said in unison. * * * Sonic and the Prince of Jellyfish: Part 5 "Ew, what is this gross stuff?" Asked Jam, getting stuck in the muk. "You don't want to know" Said sonic staring more closely at Jam's glow-in-the dark flesh than the sewage on his jeans. "This is bad sonic!" said knuckles. "Angel Island has crashed. That can only mean robotnik has gotten his filthy palms on the Master Emerald. "Emerald? Whats a... Ma Master Emera.. Emerald?" Jam asked, sounding it out. "Its a magic crystal. It is the only thing keeping Angel Island Afloat. If Robotnik gets his hands on it, he could destroy us, and probably worse!" Said tails, holding his nose. "Like my coin!" Jam said, clutching his money. "Yes, only sevenfold! Or even seventy times sevenfold" Said sonic. Then he looked over at knuckles. "Because some knuckle head wasn't doing his job!" "Knuckles is the guardian of angel island" Whispered tails to Jam. "Robotnik is YOUR archenemy, NOT MINE pig face." Knuckles snarled "You should have finished him off a long time ago! This is YOUR fault!" "GUYS!" shouted Jam. in the distance, a creature was watching them. Jam could hear it breathing. Or was it breath at all? The team looked ahead as a giant mechanical turtle shone out of the darkness. Jam started shaking in his jeans. "Turtles eat Jellyfish!" he said, ducking behind Sonic. Sonic shrugged and then moving out of the way said, "You gotta face your fears sometime!" "WHAT?!" Jam cried. "Show us what you got Sticks" Knuckles said. "Good luck Jam!" Said Tails, giving him the peace sign. "You guys have got to be..." KNOCK! Before Jam could finish his sentence, the turtle had punched him across the sewer, submerging him completely in the waste. Why does it smell so bad in here? Robots don't use the restroom!! Jam hopped back to his feet. Now i'm mad! He said. The money around his neck twinkled and he was clean as a whistle. "JELLYFISH YUM" beeped the robotic turtle. "Ew, go to the beach and find your own - " Jam said. He decided to test out some of his fighting skills. The turtle Marched slowly towards Jam. Jam leaned forward, and then Jumped into the air. He curled up and held ont his feet and shifted his weight, spinning him around like a ball. He landed heavily on the turtle's head, smashing his face in. "That was easy!" exclaimed Jam. "Nice Job Fish Face!" Said Knuckles. "No duh ant breath" responded Jam. "What do you call that B.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l. Move?" Asked Sonic, emphasizing the word by sounding it out. "Jell-O Shot!" said Jam, signaling to the team with a thumbs up. "I hope you remember how you did it!" exclaimed Sonic. "I'm thirsty!" Said Tails. "FOREWARD... MARCH!!" ordered Sonic. And the crew marched onward through the sewage.  * * *  Sonic and the Prince of Jellyfish: Part 6 "How do you get your head so spikey?" Jam asked sonic as he exited the sewer system into a poluted lake. "Lots of hair products!" Sonic said, pulling out a pocket sized mirror. "Dang I look good." "Get out of the way you fat pig!" Knuckles said, shoving sonic into the lake. "HELLP!" sonic said, wailing his hands around like a drowning cat. "I'll save you!" tails said, brushing his hair back with his hand and jumping into the lake tails-first. He swam over to sonic and picked him up and flew over to shore where Jam and Knuckles were discussing Angel Island. "So, the Master Emerald was kept safe on Angel Island all these years? And the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald can grant wishes?" Jam asked, a little confused. "No fish face. It doesn't grant wishes. It gives someone extraordinary power." Knuckles said, punching him in the shoulder. "STOP DOING THAT!" Jam said, smacking knuckles in the face. "AAh OUWWW!" Knuckles yelped. "Here's some vinegar," tails said, pulling out his first aid kit. He poured it all over knuckles' head, who frowned and stopped squirming. "But Robotnik has the Master Emerald now. There's no telling what he's planning. He could power a machine with it. Or worse..." Sonic explained. "We have to go to Angel Island and see if there are any survivors! That crash could have hurt a lot of people!" Tails said. "I'll go ahead of you guys." Sonic said. "There's no time to waste. You guys get there as fast as you can." Sonic took off running as fast as he could. Jam took off behind him leaving Tails and Knuckles behind. * * * * * Sonic arrived at the crashsite. Just then, some sticky fish crashed into him. "Oww!!" Sonic said, turning around to see what crashed into him. "JAM!! What the...?! How did you get here so fast?" "I'm super fast..." Jam said, shrugging. "Whatever... Lets go!" Sonic said impatiently. The deadly pair looked through the ruins, looking under rocks and boulders. After 15 minutes or so, Knuckles and Tails showed up on the scene. "Find anyone yet?" Knuckles asked. "Not yet." Sonic said. Five minutes later, Jam and Tails were looking in a destroyed shelter when they heard a cry from down in a cave. "HEELP!" came the voice. "In here guys!" Jam yelled. Sonic and Knuckles ran over quickly to the cave. "Its so dark in here..." Sonic said. Jam walked through the cave and his face was glowing brightly enough that the search crew could barely see through the darkness. "HELLO?!" shouted sonic. "WE'RE HERE TO HELP!!" "OVER HERE!" replied the voice. The team followed the sound and found a small eagle stuck under a rock. Jam and knuckles picked up the rock. "Are you hurt?" asked knuckles. "My leg!! I think its broken!" cried the eagle. "Its okay." Sonic knelt down and took his hand. Tails handed him a first aid kit and he took out some plaster bandages. "What's your name?" Asked sonic, fixing the break and wrapping a cast around his broken leg." "I'm Bert." said the eagle, tears in his eyes. "Try not to move until this dries Bert. Can I ask what happened here?" Sonic said to the eagle. "I was flying around in the clouds, and I landed on this island. Dr. Robotnik was capturing all of the citizens of the island and turning them into robots. I tried to fly away, but the robots were everywhere! I hid in this cave, but the next thing I knew, the island crashed. I saw the robots all leaving in escape pods..." The eagle stopped crying. "I'm so glad you're here Sonic! You're my hero!" Said the eagle. "There, there, its okay. Lets get out of here for now," Sonic said, helping the eagle out of the cave. * * * * * "If Robotnik turned all of the citizens here into robots, then that means there's probably no other survivors here," Knuckles said when they were safely out of the cave. The team had set up a hideout near the ruins. Here, they set up a small radio tower that could be used to communicate with the other Freedom Fighters. Bert was made an honorary Freedom Fighter by Sonic and was assigned to be in charge of this hideout while he healed. Overall, Bert's injuries were not too bad. He could still fly. "There's one more thing I forgot to tell you earlier!" Bert said, remembering something important. "What's that?" Sonic asked, changing his shoes. The team was getting ready to leave. "Robotnik was saying something about 'Easter Island'. I think thats where he took the Master Emerald!! I overheard a conversation... Robotnik(flashback): "Robey, take these prisoners to Easter Island!" Robey(flashback): "Robotnik, are you going to use the Master Emerald to power some awesome Robot?" Robotnik(flashback): "Not this time, Robey. I plan to use the Emeralds on... MYSELF!!" Robey(flashback): "What do you think will happen? Aren't you scared??" Robotnik(flashback): "I will attain PERFECTION!! I Will be unstoppable!" (MWAHAHAHAHAHA) "THAT FAT JELLYBELLY!" sonic said, annoyed. "GAAAH" knuckles punched the ground. Jam and Tails looked down at the ground. Sonic head towards the door. Then he looked back. "Be safe, Bert. We'll stop Robotnik. Thats a promise."  Sonic and the Prince of Jellyfish: Part 7 "I'm thirsty" whined tails. "For the hundredth time, we're almost there!" Knuckles boomed. He turned his car into a small clearing and covered it with large green leaves. Knuckles had found his jeep in one piece while leaving the ruins of Angel Island. Team Sonic decided they would stop at a Freedom Fighters Hideout to gather supplies and make plans for the coming mission. "Well, this is it!" said sonic. "Great, do you have cable?" Asked Jam. "I don't know where you come from Jam, but up here where Robotnik rules the world, we don't have much in the way of entertainment." "Oh..." said Jam, disappointed. "But we do have... dun dun duh DUHNNN! Sega!" Sonic said. "Tails made some video games starring none other than yours truly--" "And me!" Knuckles interjected. "Do you want to play?" asked tails, smirking. He knew all of the cheat codes for the game and was planning on wooping some butt. "Sure, after dinner. Do you have Jello dogs?" asked Jam. "Well... we have canned hotdogs, mayonaise, and jello. I'm sure we could whip one up for you real quick!" "Great!!" Jam said. The team entered the hideout. It was mostly empty because noone ever used it. The team settled down and decided to relax before bed. Sonic called Bert, who was adjusting nicely to the Angel Island Hideout. No problems so far. The team could sleep easy tonight. * * * * * "JAM! Did you wet the bed?!" Knuckles shouted the next morning, jumping out of the botton bunk. "This is the last time I bunk with you, I swear!" "NO! It was my money!" Jam said, pulling his lucky, rusty coin from under his pillow. "Besides, what do you expect, I'M A FISH!" "Good Morning team!" Sonic said, walking into the room. "I had to brush my teeth twice as long today..." Sonic trailed off. "I think I almost got a cavity from spending too much time with you Jam." "NICE JAMMIES!" Tails said to Jam, noticing the multi colored Jellyfish that decorated his pajamas. "Thanks!" Jam said. "They are hand me downs... They have sentimental value." "Anyways, back to business." Sonic said. "Lets talk about it at breakfast." Tails said, pointing at the kitchen table he had set up while everyone was still sleeping. "EGGS! My favorite!" Knuckles, Sonic, and Jam said simultaneously. They each took a seat and started eating. "So, I fink..." sonic said, his mouth full of food. Then he swallowed. "We should go get the tornado and go to Easter Island. We will probably make it by sun-up tomorrow." "The tornado is 50 miles away in the hangar. We can make it in 20 minutes." Said tails. "Can we all fit?" Asked knuckles, who was implying that the plane wouldn't fit Jam in it. "I can add a seat in 5 minutes tops!" said Tails, bragging. "So is Robotnik strong?" Asked Jam, chugging some glue. (It's one of his favorites) "I wouldn't say he's STRONG" said sonic. "But he always makes us jump through hoops to get to him. He hides behind his machines." "Do you think I could beat him?" Jam said, now acting Macho. "Maybe." Sonic said. "You never know. I guess it all depends on what he is using the Master Emerald for!" FZZZZT Just then, a monitor turned on and positioned itself in front of the kitchen table. "Team Sonic, this is Team Gamma. We have an urgent message, OVER." "Roger!" Said sonic. "What's up? OVER." "We have huge energy readings from Easter Island. The reports are that the chaos emeralds have all been gathered in one location. The energy levels are off the charts!" came the female voice. "We are evacuating and moving to a safer location, OVER!" "Roger! We are headed to Easter Island as soon as we can. OVER." "Good luck Sonic. END TRANSMISSION!" "Well you ready team?" Sonic said, putting down his empty glass of koolaid. "Ready as we'll ever be, Sonic." Said tails. "Let's go!" Said Knuckles. "I want to see what this Robot is made of!" Said Jam. "head out." Sonic directed, and the team left towards the Hangar. Sonic and the Prince of Jellyfish: Part 8 "THIS IS SO MUCH FUN!" Jam said over the Tornado's in-flight intercom. "I've never flown before!" "Well, get used to it Jellin'," Sonic said. "We're probably going to be doing a lot of flying today!" But sonic spoke too soon. A homing missile aimed at the plane hit and the Tornado took a nose dive. "MAYDAY! MAYDAY!" shouted sonic. "EVERYONE STAY CALM! ON THE COUNT OF THREE, EVACUATE THE PLANE. USE YOUR PARACHUTES LIKE IT SAYS IN THE INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO!" Tails directed everyone. "ONE..." "TWO..." "THREE..." "JUMP!" The team jumped out of the plane and waited to get a safe distance from eachother before pulling the cord on their parachutes. "My plane!" Sonic said, tears welling in his eyes. The team floated down to a small island in the middle of the ocean. There were no other islands around. As they landed on the beach, they noticed that the island was empty. "Great" said knuckles. "This is why you never trust a hedgehog to fly a plane." "Shut up Ant Breath! Like you could do any better." Sonic was on the defensive now, crushed by the loss of his favorite plane. "Sonic, this isn't the first time the tornado has crashed! I can make you a new plane!" Tails comforted sonic. "Thats not the point Tails! We're lost!" Sonic cried. "um guys!" Jam interupted. "I know where this is! This is close to my home! This is where all of the jellyfish go on vacation!" Jam stopped. "I think I can draw a map!" "Huh?" said sonic, cheering up a little. Jam took a minute and drew out a map. "We are here." Jam pointed at a small island on the south east of the map. "Easter Island is here." Jam pointed at a place on the map 40-45 miles North North East of the crash site. "All we have to do is find a way to get across!" Jam smiled. "Wow, you sure know your way around the ocean!" Sonic said. "How are we going to get across?" Asked Knuckles. "I can't fly that far if I'm carrying someone..." Tails said, a little pessimistic about his own strength. "We could make a wind glider!" Suggested Jam. "A wind glider? How do you expect a glider to go 40 miles?" Sonic asked. "It gets really windy here on spring Nights," Jam said. "If we build a wind glider from wooden poles and some freshly made paper, we could launch off of a spring and ride the wind to easter Island! With a little glue and some elbow grease, I can make a decent wind glider!" "Well lets get started! What all do we need?" The team spent the remaining daylight hours fashioning a glider that would fit all four team members. At the end of the day they were ready to launch. * * * * * "Ready? When I give the signal, we launch off this spring. Don't fight the wind, it'll take us straight to Easter Island." "READY" the team shouted. "GO!" Jam shouted. The team jumped off a tall cliff and onto a spring set below it. The spring shot them straight over the ocean. And they hung on tight as the Wind pushed the glider through the starlit skies. "Wow!" Said Jam. "Its working!" Said tails, excitedly. "Just don't let go!" Jam said. An hour passed and the team had not given up hope that the wind would take them straight to their destination. "I think I see it." knuckles said pointing at an island full of smog and lights. As the team got closer, they could make out the large stone heads that littered the shore. In the middle of the island, a large metal structure towered over the sea. "Is that a launch pad?" Asked Tails. "What?" Jam said. "I think Robotnik built a rocket! He's planning on leaving the planet!" "So let him go!" Sonic said. "Good riddance." He spat on the ground. "NOT WITH THE MASTER EMERALD, Pig head!" Knuckles growled. "Well lets head that way." Jam said. The team leaned and the glider headed straight for the launch pad. But as soon as they did, the rocket launched! "Gotta make it in time!" Sonic said. Tails began propelling the glider to go faster. "MADE IT!" Sonic said as they touched down by the enterence to the rocket. Knuckles ripped open the door, letting the team inside, and then closed it tightly behind him. Two lighting-like eyes shown out of the darkness. "Welcome aboard, hedgehog." Said the mechanical voice. "ROBOTNIK!"  *  Sonic and the Prince of Jellyfish: Part 9 "RobotniK!" Sonic growled. "Hedgehog" Robotnik responded. "You're going down! We're taking over the ship!" Sonic pounced at Robotnik's head. But it was as hard as steel. "Foolish hedgehog! You can't stop me! With the power of the emeralds, I am invincible!!" Several escape pods left the rocket. One was yellow with black stripes. Several of the parts of the rocket fell off as the rocket left the planet's atmosphere. Anti gravity was kicking in. "Sonic, take care of Robotnik!" knuckles shouted. He ducked into one of the side rooms and started running down the hall looking for the emeralds. Jam ducked into one of the rooms on the other side and started looking for the control room. "I've got your back sonic!" tails said, pulling out a ring. "Catch!" Tails through the ring to sonic, who caught it and gripped onto it tightly. "Game on Robot!" Sonic said. The two entered into mortal kombat. "Get over here!" Said sonic, reaching for Robotnik's neck. "not a chance, Pork-u-pine." Sonic ran up behind robotnik and aimed for his rear. Meanwhile Tails had jumped up and kicked Robotnik in the face. "Now your just annoying little flies flapping around!" Robotnik boomed, swatting at the two. "Sonic and Tails weaved in and out, making robotnik dizzy. Finally, Robotnik crashed. "He's knocked out!" Said tails, kicking him in the cheek. "I thought the emeralds would have made him stronger?" Sonic thought out loud. "Tails, you go help knuckles find the emeralds. I'll go help jam find the control center." "Roger!" Sonic and Tails sped off in different directions. * * * * * "Tails!" said knuckles as he saw the two-tailed fox approach him. "Knuckles, Robotnik is down for the count. Have you found the emeralds?" Tails said. Knuckles pointed over a chasm. An escape pod door had just closed and was launching with the emeralds inside it! "Not good!" said tails. "We have to go after them!" The two jumped into an escape pod and tails programmed it to follow the emeralds. * * * * * Jam sped through the rocket until he came to the control center at the front of the rocket. "This must be it." said jam. FZZZT "Control center, can you hear us?" FZZZT came a voice through the intercom. It was tails. "Tails?" jam said through the intercom. "Where are you?" FZZZT"We're on an escape pod chasing after the emeralds!"FZZZT This time Knuckles responded. "What?" Jam could see an escape pod chasing another escape pod. He shot at the first one to slow it down. "there!" said Jam. Tails and Knuckles' escape pod caught up to the one with the Emeralds in it. FZZZT"Almost got it!"FZZZT Tails said. Sonic ran into the control room. "We've gotta hurry and land this baby!" sonic said. He grabbed the steering wheel and hit some buttons. The rocket shook. Just then, the Emerald Escape pod was shot by another ship. It was the Black and Yellow ship that had escaped earlier. the Emerald escape pod crash landed towards the moon. FZZZT"OH NOOO! WE LOST IT"FZZZT Cried Tails. Just when sonic started to get the hang of flying, A loud rumble came from behind him. "Hedgehog! Unhand my steering wheel!" Robotnik said angrily. Jam jumped up and stung him. "OWWW!" Robotnik's eyes welled up. "No time for crying!" he wimpered. He pounded sonic's chair. While dodging the attack, Sonic's hand slipped and hit some buttons. "NOOOO!!" Cried Robotnik. "What have you done!!" The ship turned and headed straight for the moon. "MY ROCKET!!" Robotnik was mad. "You will pay for this, hedgehog!!!" Sonic turned to Jam. "we've gotta get off here or we'll be in danger!" "I read you loud and clear." he grabbed the intercom. "TAILS PICK US UP AT THE ESCAPE BAY!" FZZZT"Got it Jam!"FZZZT Sonic and Jam ran towards the escape bay while Robotnik tried to get his rocket back on track. Several Robots were in the halls, but sonic and Jam swerved under and through them, keeping neck and neck. "OVER HERE!" Tails shouted from the escape bay. Sonic and Jam lept over a couple more robots and bounced off some springs and into the Escape pod. "Safe!" said sonic, whiping the sweat from his forehead. "For now blue boy." Knuckles said. The team watched as robotnik's ship crash landed into the moon. "All thanks to you sonic." Jam said, smiling. "Yup. Gimme some sugar Jam!" Sonic said, holding his fist out. Jam punched it. "ow. Not so hard next time, its not bloody knuckles." sonic said. "HAHA. should we go clean this mess up?" Jam laughed. "Sure thing" Sonic looked at tails. "Next stop... THE MOON!!" "Yee haw!!" said tails, pushing some buttons. "I love my job" Sonic said, winking at the camera(the audience). Added parts 6-10 followed by parts 11 and 12 today. Sonic and the Prince of Jellyfish: Part 10 "Whats wrong tails?" Sonic asked as the team entered the moon's gravitational pull. "The Pod is out of juice!" Tails said, pushing buttons on the control pad. "We're gonna crash!" Sonic helped hold the steering wheel steady. "Everybody get your seat belts on!" Jam directed. Click! Click! Click! Click! "Everyone hold onto your hardhats! We're going down!" said tails as he flipped the power off. The ship nosedived towards the moon's surface. When it close enough to the ground, tails flipped the powerback on for as long as he could in order to try to save the landing. His plan worked. Sort of. The ship leveled out and hit the ground bouncing. It drove into a crater on the dark side of the moon where the airbags popped out with gunsmoke to lessen any physical injuries. "Is everyone alive?" Sonic asked, jumping out of the cockpit with a space suit on. Tails said: "I'm okay! I'm okay. Um otay." Knuckles said: "Never better. I have a cut on my arm, but i'll be okay." Jam said: "That was fun!! Next time I want to drive!" Each member had on a space suit except for Jam. His magic coin let him breath even in outer space. The water froze on the outer layer, giving him a frosted appearance. This frost effect on top of his already glowing flesh was truly a sight for the team to behold. "This reminds me of a bugs bunny movie..." said sonic looking at Jam. "Which one?" asked tails. "Whose bugs bunny?" asked Jam. facepalm-knuckles. "Its not important..." Sonic trailed off. "So we should hurry and find those emeralds!" Knuckles said. "Robotnik landed in Tycho crater" tails said. "It is on the south side of the bright side of the moon. We should hurry." "Got it," said sonic, getting ready to dash. But when he started running, he lept 30 feet into the air and then floated face first into some moon rocks. "That looks fun!" said jam, jumping up and down 20 feet into the air. "Haha WEEEE" said tails, who was trying to fly. "This is not the time guys. Once we beat Robotnik and get the emeralds, THEN we can celebrate." Said Knuckles. "Fine lets go -- This way!" Tails pointed. * * * * * The team could tell when they got to the bright side of the moon. It was a huge difference. They regrouped and drew a map to tycho crater. On the way, they fought many robots who were building a new launch pad from the moon. They slipped through 'Silicone Valley" and chipped there way through "silicone hills". Finally, they made it to tycho crater. But it was too late. Robotnik had likewise regrouped from the crash and had in front of him the 7 chaos emeralds. And in his hand, he held the one and only Master Emerald. "Greetings, pests. I'm glad you could join me!" Robotnik thundered as he saw the Four Heroes arrive. "Eggman!" Sonic growled, bloodthirstier than ever. "Unhand those emeralds you thief!" Knuckles demanded. "Feisty tone of voice... For someone who is about to be whiped out of the solar system!" Robotnik thundered, this time louder. "I have here in my hand, the Master Emerald!" "You can't do much with just that!" Sonic said. You need rings too! "Oh, we have rings..." Robotnik said sticking out his pudgy belly. "Bring them out boys!!" Several Robots began dumping barrels full of rings over the emeralds. When the pile was sufficiently large, Robotnik Reached over to place the Master Emerald on top of the pile. "Oh... But wait. There's one more thing!" Robotnik said. Robotnik's henchmen wheeled out a large Box, and a large machine. "Feast your eyes on this!" Robotnik shouted. At his signal the box was opened. "BERT!!!" Sonic said, recognizing the eagle he had rescued earlier. "SONIC!!!" cried the eagle, tears once again in his eyes. "So you've met!" Robotnik laughed. And then he dumped the eagle into the machine. It whistled and beeped for 30 seconds. "You won't get away with this Eggman!!" Sonic said. When the machine was done, it let out some steam, and then opened up to release a Winged Robot encased in an eggshell. "I would like to introduce you to my newest creation!" Robotnik said with his hand stretched out over The Robotic Eagle. "Say hello to Hawa-tuu-take-take! Or if you prefer something easier, 'Desert Eggal 322'" "Why is it called that?" Sonic asked. The bird responded by pulling out a semi-automatic pistol and Aiming it at the hedgehog. "I'm sorry I asked!" Sonic gulped. The bird put its pistol away. "You're forgetting the best part, hedgehog." Robotnik finally placed the Master Emerald atop the pile. "NOOO!" Knuckles yelled. A bright Green light engulfed the moon, and finally circled around the Evil Doctor before dissipating. Dr. Robotnik's eyes turned green and the sky thundered. "Now, for the grand Finale!"  *  *  Sonic and the Prince of Jellyfish: Part 11 Robotnik towered over Sonic, green eyes glaring and evil mouth sneering. "Hedgehog, you've messed with me for the last time!" Robotnik picked up his giant foot and stomped down hard on Sonic. "You still haven't learned, Robotnik!" said sonic, sardonically. He moved quickly over towards the pile of rings and emeralds. "This should even the fight!" Sonic said, yellow light surrounding him. "That won't help you this time, Blondie!" Robotnik glowed and powered up further. But then a look of shock hit him. "Why don't I feel any stronger?" "You need to lose some weight, fatty" Sonic rammed into Robotnik, sending him backwards. Robotnik lost his balance and almost fell into the crater. Robotnik seemed to gain some understanding. "I see. My power is not increased speed or strength - Its Intelligence!" MWAHAHAHA "That won't help you on THIS battlefield!" Sonic jumped towards Robotnik again. Desert Eggal 322 flew in front of sonic, shooting his pistol at the hedgehog's heart. Robotnik turned and ran towards the almost completed Rocket. "WHAAA" Sonic stopped mid-run to dodge the Eggal's bullet. "Hang on Sonic!" Tails said. He flew towards the pile of emeralds and Powered up. Several of the robots cracked open and birds flew out, surrounding Tails. "YOU THINK YOU CAN HANDLE THIS, BERT?" Tails said as his friends nose-dived towards the Desert Eggal. "Don't kid yourself" The desert Eggal shot the bird's wing and it hit the ground. Fortunately, the power of the emeralds had protected it and it was unharmed. "Watch out Eggal!" said Knuckles, who was also now powered up. He punched the eggal hard, but its shell protected it. What do i do? Jam thought. He too, touched the emeralds. But they didn't do anything. At least he thought. The coin around his neck cracked. And the water subsided. i'm... suf...focating... "Jam!" Tails said, running to help. "Sonic do something!" "I'm trying tails!" sonic said, dodging another bullet. "Move him away from the emeralds! I don't think he can handle it!" Tails dragged Jam away from the emeralds. The flow of water slowly poured back out. Apparently, being too close to the emeralds had broken the spell cast on it. "Keep an eye on him tails!" Sonic said. "Knuckles you go after robotnik" Knuckles ran towards the Rocket and punched a hole in it. He jumped inside and looked for robotnik. Sonic dodged another bullet. "Man what is this guys weakness?" Sonic said to himself. "That shell is almost impenetrable." "DIE, Hedgehog!" said the eggal, flying over sonic and kicking the back of his head. Sonic dodged, but noticed that the Eggal limped slightly afterwards. Sonic remembered putting the cast on Bert. "Thats it!" sonic said. Sonic aimed for the Eggal's leg and hit him in the heel. The Eggal fell forward, screaming in pain. Sonic knew that Bert was still in there somewhere. The Eggal flew up into the air and shot three shots at Sonic. "That's it..." Said sonic, annoyed. "This is gonna hurt me more than it hurts you, Berty!" Sonic sprung up into the air and grabbed onto the Eggals wings. He shifted his weight, forcing the eggal straight into the ground. * * * * * Inside the Rocket, Knuckles was hot on Robotnik's trail. "WHERE ARE YOU HIDING, JELLY BELLY?" Knuckles snarled. This was not his idea of fun. He punched another wall and it collapsed. He could overhear a voice coming from the room above him. Robotnik: That's right, Robey, the information I'm sending you is encrypted. Keep it safe, everything is going according to plan. Robey: Yes King Robotnik, anything you say, oh round one! Knuckles punched the ceiling. "WHAT?" Said Robotnik, ending the transmission. "Echidna... You shouldn't listen in on other people's phone calls!" Robotnik hit a few buttons on the control pad and his egg mobile began to hover into the air. Then it raced out the door. The rocket began to break apart, revealing a giant Robot. Knuckles punched his way out before the Robot finally stood up revealing a 30 foot tall Eggdroid. "Feast your eyes on M.E.C.H.A.!" Said Robotnik, laughing in his seat. "This is the prototype for my new Masterpiece!" "I don't think i've ever seen you laugh this much, fatty." Knuckles shot a dirty look at Robotnik. Knuckles fought the M.E.C.H.A. fist to fist. It was a common street brawl. Knuckles was able to get the upper hand after about 3 minutes. First in the shoulders, then the chest, and finally a good blow to the face. M.E.C.H.A. was strong, but Knuckles was stronger. * * * * * Jam was finally coming to. "What happened?" Jam said. "I feel like my chest just caved in." "Jam, you don't have lungs!" Tails pointed out. "How do I breath?" Jam asked. "How do you talk?" asked tails. "What happened?" Jam asked again. "You got too close to the emeralds and it rejected the spell on your coin. The water that normally surrounds you stopped flowing. But after I took you away from the emeralds you were fine" Jam looked around and saw the chaos around him. "But, I want to help you!" Jam said, feeling like dead weight. "Sonic said to just stay here and don't get hurt, Jam." Jam looked at tails. He remembered Julius and the rest of the Jellyfish who chased him out of his home. He remembered sonic saving him when he first came to shore. "Don't cry Jam, I'll start crying!" Tails said, comforting him. "I DON'T WANT TO BE DEAD WEIGHT" Jam cried. "I'M JAMIE STICKIN' COLLINS!!!" His voice shook the air around him. His face glowed. Nearby, the emeralds glowed brightly, shining the familiar green light across the moon. and then it dissipated. The chaos emeralds shattered one by one. "JAM!" Tails said, the aura around him fading. The birds flew off. Jam ran onto the scene as quickly as possible. "HERE I COME, EGGMAN!"  Sonic and the Prince of Jellyfish: Part 12 "Still fighting?" Sonic said, dodging another bullet from the Desert Eggal 322. "As if I would lose to a hedgehog!" said the Eggal. The two were running circles around eachother, neither one giving any leeway. Sonic could feel himself slowing down. "Whats going on?" Sonic said, just barely dodging a bullet. "This isn't good..." Sonic looked back and saw the green flash of light and then he watched the chaos emeralds each crack. "Whats wrong sonic? Run out of juice?" The eggal beeped and held his Pistol point blank at the hedgehog's head. He pulled the trigger. "Out of bullets?" Sonic asked, hiding his relief. He swiftly jerked the gun out of the eggal's hand, breaking it. He was no longer glowing yellow, but there was something different about him. His fur was a dark blue and residual bright sparks lept from spike to spike. He resembled the night sky itself. "Guess we play fair then" The robot suggested. "As if one of Robotnik's creations would play fair." Sonic once again aimed for the Eggal's leg. The eggal fell backwards into tycho crater. "Just stay there... Please don't get back up until we handle robotnik..." Sonic prayed to himself. * * * * * Jam arrived to where Knuckles was fighting M.E.C.H.A. Tails was not far behind. "Knuckles seems to be holding his own. I'm going to go after Robotnik." Jam said to Tails. He was determined to prove his worth to team sonic. Jam lept up from behind Robotnik and smacked him as hard as he could. "End this fight Robotnik! You've played with my friends for the last time!" "YOU!" Robotnik sneered. "I don't even know who you are!" Knuckles managed to destroy M.E.C.H.A. even without the power of the emeralds. "I am Jam!" Jam Stood tall, his tentacles streaming in the moon's wind. Frosty water washed around him. "Let my friends go!" Jam said. "Or what?" Now sonic had arrived and was standing next to tails. "Or... I... Will... OBLITERATE YOU!" "I'd like to see you try." Jam lept up and hugged onto Robotnik with all of his arms. "HIT IT!" Jam shouted. Each of the heroes swung at the now immobile Robot. A huff of air left his chest from the blow. His eyes seemed to pop out from his skull a little. "And he's down." Said Sonic. It was finally over. They put him in an escape pod and tails programmed it to head straight into outerspace, or "out of the ballpark" as sonic had asked him to do. Meanwhile, Robots were still running around tycho crater, picking up the pieces. Sonic went to check on Bert, or "Desert Eggal 322" But he was gone. "I have a feeling thats not the last we'll see of Robotnik." Sonic said. "I have a feeling you're right." Knuckles agreed. * * * * * The heroes picked up the shards of emeralds from the pile. The shards collapsed and turned to dust. Knuckles cried as the Master emerald's remains drifted into outerspace. Jam thought they would be mad at him. He felt completely responsible. But knuckles hugged him, and just cried some more. When the team thought that they had done all they could do, tails fixed up an escape pod and set its course back home. The team released all of the Prisoners held at Easter Island and went back to knothole village. "Do you think you'll stay here?" Asked tails to Jam. "Once spring is over, I should probably leave." Jam said. "I have some 'unfinished business' to take care of back at home." "If they give you any trouble" sonic said, putting his hand on Jam's shoulder. "Then I will be right down to clear this mess up." "Sonic, you can't swim" Tails laughed. "Shh, tails they don't know that yet!" They all laughed. Royal Jelly by Sean Gilbert Prologue Previously, in Sonic and the Prince of Jellyfish and Sonic in Stars and Stripes: Jamie "Jam" Collins is a Jellyfish from the Ocean city of Amenti. After winning the Royal Lottery to become the Prince of his Class (but before his coronation), he was chased out of his home by his jealous peers. After finding a magic coin that lets him walk on dry land, he rose to shore, joining Sonic and Co. in an adventure to defeat Dr. Eggman! During this adventure, Dr. Eggman stole the Master Emeralds, causing Angel Island to crash! Sonic and Co. nonetheless defeat Eggman and save the day! After a year, Eggman returned, kidnapping the Queen Bee of a local Hive! Sonic and Co. are asked to rescue the queen! Meanwhile, Jam's home city enters a state of Civil War and the Mayor requests Sonic's help! Now, after another year, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Jam get ready to launch a counter attack against Marcus Cassius, the leading antagonist of Amenti's Civil War! Royal Jelly: Part 1 "WAKE UP, BEDBUG!" yelled Jam into the megaphone. The fat, fuzzy, striped Drone bee did not respond. Instead, he rolled over, leaving a long strand of drool behind him. "I SAID WAKE UP, CODEY, OR I WILL KICK YOUR BLACK AND YELLOW BEE HIND!!" Jam yelled again, this time putting his cold coin up to the bees face, letting the fresh sea water pump out from its endless magical springs. "WHAAAhhh" cried the stingless wannabee. "I'm up captain! I'm up!" "THATS WHAT I THOUGHT! Now go raise the anchor its time to set sail." But the bee had fallen back asleep. Jam kicked him as hard as he could in the bee's thorax, cracking its exoskeleton just a hair. The bee jumped out of bed and flew over to the anchor that he had accidentally thrown up into a tree the night before. It had gotten stuck in a nest. Go figure! "So I had this dream last night..." Codey said at breakfast. "SHUT UP BUG!" Jam ordered. Codey glared at him, and then hit him with the back of his spoon. "CHILL OUT, buddy i was kidding" Jam rubbed his fuzzy bee head. "What was the dream about?" "Welll..." Codey thought for a minute. "You were there. and I was there. And your head got stuck to my back and we were like siamese twins. And then we jumped into a pool of jello and knox and marmalade were in a rock band and then a telephone started ringing and wouldn't stop." "I think you need to lay off the honey before bed." Jam said. "Yeah, you're right mannnn! I woke up really sticky. I just can't help it its sooo good." Codey said. "So anyways boss, whats on the schedule for today?" "We have to go pick up the audio equipment for the Mayflower, and then we're off to knothole village!" During the year that passed between the time that Sonic and Team last fought Robotnik, Jam chartered a ship by trading in some of his lifetime supply of honey. He christened it the Mayflower, in hopes of charming the Lovely Princess Maia. And it worked like a charm! She loved the full-rigged Steel Windjammer! She spent all the time she could on it, but lately all her time as been devoted to working at the hive. "KNOT HOLE VILLAGE!! Yeah I almost forgot! Its about time to dive isn't it?" "Yeah! Are you nervous, Codey?" "Nope, I'm a regular Sea-Bee now, homey!" "Yeah, except Sea-Bees actually work. All you do is sleep all day!" "Hey, somebody's gotta keep the dream alive!" "Ha, well, lets go get that audio equipment installed!" * * * * * This part has been edited out. I don't know anything about installing speakers. He paid somebody. He waited. And then he said "let there be music"! * * * * * As Jam and Codey sailed home, the Mayflower literally hovered above the water by the sheer force of the soundwaves. Jam installed amps, speakers, and subwoofers along each of the lowest cabins of the ship. How will we hear eachother over the music? Codey asked Jam on the way to meet sonic. Why would I want to talk to you when there's music playing? Jam had responded. No really! GET TO WORK! * * * * * "What the [f!?#] is that sound?" Sonic said as he and tails waited on the beach. "It sounds like some blue whales are trying to rap!" Tails said. "You listen to too much hip hop" "I don't listen to enough, mayne!" "WHAT?! Don't tell me that sound is--" sonic stared off into the distance at Jam's ship, blocking the sunlight with his hand. "Jam put some subs on the mayflower..." Tails sighed. "Why didn't he just let me do it." "Because everything you make explodes!!" "Only when you're the one using it Sonic!" Sonic turned his back. But only for a second. He couldn't stay mad at tails for too long. "I hereby declare this land: cape codey!!" said Codey, flipping off the Mayflower and landing on the beach. "SHUT UP BEE BUTT!" Jam said, jumping onto Codey's back. "Whaaaah!" Codey cried "JAAM!" Sonic and Tails said excitedly. "We missed you!! Tails said. "Sort of!" Sonic corrected. "Hows it going landlovers?" Jam said, running over to sonic and giving him a high five. Sonic wasn't paying attention, so he gave it to tails instead. "Its been a great year! Look what tails gave me for christmas!!" Sonic said, pointing at his plane, the tornado. "Thats amazing!! Just don't crash it this time, Sonic!" Jam said. "So Codey, whats it like sailing the ocean?" Tails asked. "It would be so much better without this fish freak!" Codey said. "Well lets get going! Everyone's waiting!" Sonic said. "RIGHT!" Royal Jelly: Part 2 "So first order of business!" Sonic began, "Swim suits!" "CHECK!" said tails handing out swim suits for each of the team members. Sonic got a pair of Old Glory Blue Wave shorts. "These will look amazing on me!" Knuckles got a pair of Old Glory Red Boxer Swim Shorts. "I guess!" Tails got a pair of white Swim shorts with holes for his tails. "I'll try not to get them dirty!" Jam got a pair of Indigo colored Swim shorts. "Sweet!" Codey refused to wear a swim suit because his thorax is huge. Shadow got a pair of shorts even more black than him. "What? I have to go?!" Silver got a pair of glittery silver shorts. Amy got a White and pink flowery one piece. "I picked it out myself!" Maia got a floral two piece with a skirt. "Does this make my butt look big" "Second order of business!" sonic continued, "SHOES! We won't be able to move around very freely underwater with our current shoes. So everyone is getting a custom pair of shoes with waterjet propellers on the bottom!" "yeah!!" Tails said. "I made these for everyone! I hope you like them!" "And finally! Air supply!" "I worked with Maia in Area 52 to design these devices. These are Leaf medalions. They will supply us with air underwater, similar to the way that Jam's coin supplies him with water." "Great. Now is everyone ready to go?" "READY!" * * * * * The team headed out on Jam's ship, the Mayflower, towards the southeast. Codey threw his new custom 'flying anchor' up in the air to hold the ship in place. The team submerged, meeting at the specified meeting place, an underwater sanctuary a few miles from the city. "I'm glad you could all join us today!" said Mayor Jelal. "It was not a problem!" said sonic, shaking the large, jolly jellyfish's hand. "Now lets go over the game plan!" Said the jewel studden Julius Alestar, Jam's former Classmate. "We have with us about 70 percent of the Princes along with their most trusted warriors. The remaining 30% have sided with Marcus Cassius." "Who is Marcus Cassius exactly?" Sonic asked. "Marcus Cassius is the War General of Amenti. Like 'Prince', "Mayor' and 'War General' are won by lottery. However, in order to be entered into these lotteries, you must be a prince, and the position must be open.' "What does a War General do?" Sonic asked. "War Generals are in charge of all amunitions, war declarations, and baracks, and must be present at all peace treaties." Mayor Jelal responded. "Also," Julius added, "Marcus Cassius was my mentor and beneficiary." Julius said. "He prepared for the Royal Lottery to be rigged in my favor. He told me he wanted to train me to be the next War General. But he betrayed me. When I lost, he tried to have me assassinated." "Thats horrible!" Tails said. "Do you know what his plan is?" Sonic asked. "He plans to become the Dictator of Amenti. We believe he plans to use the city's resources to survey the surrounding ocean and discover where the first ruler's hid the secrets of Immortality..." Mayor Jelal became quiet. "I've said too much!" "Immortality?!" Sonic asked suprised. "Yes." "Is that possible?" "Yes." "How?" "we don't know. But we have strong evidence that proves that Immortality is attainable. We need more information." Mayor Jelal said. "I have a question!" Jam asked. "What can you tell us about the chaos emeralds?" "Emeralds?" Mayor Jelal said, raising an eyebrow. "We saw them in a history book, or at least we thought they were the chaos emeralds!" "THAT is classified information!" "Come on!! You can tell me!!" Jam begged. "NO!" "Would you do it for ME?" Sonic asked. "WEll.. okay!" Mayor Jelal spilled the beans. "Our history books tell us that the emeralds were made by the legendary King of the Ocean in order to defeat the Ancient Amentian King, Asura!" "Yes, we know that much" Jam said, boredly. "This is not quite accurate. The King of the Ocean lied to Asura." "What?" "Asura wanted to know where The King of the Ocean found the emeralds, and so he said that he made them in order to frighten the Evil Asura." "So where DID they come from?" Sonic asked. Mayor Jelal looked around nervously to make sure no enemies were listening. "The underworld." "WHAT DO YOU MEAN?" asked Jam. "A ghost made them?" Knuckles asked, confused. "How did he get them?" Sonic asked. "He died. He made a wager with the judge of the dead. And he won the emeralds as well as passage back to the world of the living." "Where is this King now? Why isn't he helping you?" Sonic asked. "That is all I can tell you." The mayor said. Sonic looked at tails, who was shaking nervously. "Sonic. I don't want to ever die." "I won't ever let that happen, little buddy. I promise." "So who is Asura?" Jam asked. "I've read the history books, but I don't understand." "Asura was once a very kind person. His real name is now lost to us. The King of the Ocean rescued him from a dangerous sea beast and returned him to his family. The King wanted Asura's father to build a city, and he did. But Asura killed his father before the city was finished. He became a militant ruler, much like Marcus." "He doesn't sound very nice. I can't believe anyone would save him!!" "He wanted what the King of the Ocean had. He was jealous, and so he did everything he could to gain that sort of power. He used the power of the Emeralds to gain immortality. When the King of the Ocean found out, he assembled a secret group to defeat Asura." "But he was immortal!" "The secret group used an ancient burial technique to divide his body into four parts, sealing them in Canopic Jars. Finally, the rest of his body was mummified." "Wow, that sounds scary. I'm glad they got rid of him!" Said Amy. "So back to Marcus. He is nothing like Asura, he is not immortal, and the chaos emeralds are gone!" "We can beat him easily!" said Sonic. "Yeah, sonic can do anything!" Jam said. "I'm glad you have such faith in your friend, Jam" said Julius. "Marcus has many hostages, so we have to be swift and careful!" "He has military bases set up around the city. We need to infiltrate them all at the same time!" "So we are splitting into teams! Awesome!" Said sonic. "There are Five bases." the mayor said. "And there are nine of us!" Said jam. "Ten" said Julius, stepping foreward. "Plus each of you should take backup!" the mayor said, directing the team's attention towards the collected armies. "So how should we split up?" Knuckles asked. "I'll pair you up." said the mayor. "Sonic and Shadow. Jam and Julius. Codey and Tails. Silver and Amy. Maia and Knuckles." "WHAT?" asked shadow, somewhat angry. "I have to work with him?" "Shut up and follow directions for once." Sonic said, rolling his eyes. "OKAY, MOVE OUT!" Royal Jelly: Part 3 "So Knuckles. Why don't you want to go out with Melissa?" asked Maia, looking knuckles right in the eye and smiling. "WHAT? you have to bring that up now??" "What else are we going to talk about" Maia kept smiling. "If you must know, I like someone else?" "WHO? "I'm not telling you, are you crazy?" "DON'T FORGET WHO YOU'RE TALKING TO!" "Princess..." Knuckles frowned. "Uh oh..." Maia started looking left and right. "What are you doing?" Knuckles asked. All of a sudden, a small jellyfish creeped up behind knuckles, stinging the back of his head. "AHHHHHHHHHHH!" Knuckles screamed. "KNOX! KNOCK IT OFF!" Maia scolded, grabbing the miniature Jam by the arm. "YOU BROUGHT HIM" Knuckles cried, infuriated. "Jam sent him with me as my body guard!" Maia smiled, holding Knox in her arms like a child would hold a teddybear. Knuckles pulled out some vinegar from a first aid kit and poured it on his head. This had happened enough times that he now knew to be prepared. "Now if you don't mind, keep it down. We're trying to be stealthy." "Right, just keep that thing away from me." Knox glowed twice and let out a small miniature snicker. "So, Maia. I mean Mighty Princess. How do you want to do this?" "I say, we wait for the signal and then I'll shoot up everything on the bottom floor and you jump upstairs and throw everyone down for me to blast!" A sinister glint shone off of Maia's eyes. Knuckles knew better than to go against her plan. "Yes princess. So can I ask why you turned down any back up?" "Those are jam's friends! I would feel aweful if I accidentally shot one!" "Right..." Knuckles had never seen the princess fight. But in his mind, he envisioned Maia massacring everyone in the building, and then ripping them apart with her teeth. That is... If bees had teeth. DO they?? He wondered. "Here we are," Said maia as a large underwater fort entered their range of vision. She counted at least 100 warriors. Those were just the ones she could see. "Now we just wait for the signal." Said knuckles. * * * * * "So amy" silver said, shyly. "So silver." amy said. "When this is over, do you want to go to the movies?" "Sure! Can you talk sonic into going?" "WHAT? I mean... I'll ask him." Silver frowned "So, how are you adjusting to being a freedom fighter?" Amy asked. "Its hard work! And they don't pay very much!" "Well, we do it for FREE!" Amy said. "Really? Thats dumb!" Silver said. "Why?" Amy got defensive. "Because, nothing is free in this world." "Yeah, but one day... ONE DAY!!" Amy said hopefully. "You sure are optimistic." Silver said. "Some days, I wake up and I want to cry. I have to force a smile. But when I do, the day always gets better!" "I think its just because you were born pink." Silver said. "What does that mean?" "Pink things always make people happy!!" "Do they?? I never noticed." Amy smiled at Silver. Silver blushed and then finished talking about his original subject. "You shouldn't work for free. You should make free work for you!" "Semantics semantics!" "So do you think we can do this?" "Sure!" Amy glanced back at the small militia of Jellyfish following them. "We've got friends helping us!" "Yeah!" The small team could see the fort in the distance. "I want you to know, amy, no matter what happens in there, I will protect you!" * * * * * While the teams were preparing their counter attack, Marcus Cassius was busy preparing his takeover. "So, when this is over, you promise to leave the city under my control. Is this acceptable?" Marcus Cassius stood in the General's Office of his dark fort. "You have my word" said a robotic, egg-like voice. "Then, prepare the Roboticizer!" "Splendid!" Said the shadowy egg. The two devious men watched as The Jellyfish Warriors were marched into a steaming machine. They went in as jellyfish, but they came out as robots. "MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Said the egg. "It is a pleasure as always, Doctor." Said the General. "Same to you, Mr. Cassius." Said the egg. "That hedgehog won't even see it coming!!!"  Royal Jelly: Part 4 "TAILS!" shouted Codey. "Huh?" "CATCH!" Codey threw a juice box to tails. They each stuck a straw in their juice boxes and started drinking. "B. Juice?" Tails read the label. "Its our specialty!" Said the Bee. "Its really good!!" tails said. "So, whats it like working for sonic?" "Um, Codey, I don't work FOR Sonic. We're a team!" said the two tailed fox. "So, do you get paid?" asked the large-thoraxed, bug-eyed bee. "Umm, no?" "Oh." "Does Jam pay you?" "Heck no! That sticky icky fish doesn't pay me anything. I think he's poor or something." "I thought you liked working with Jam." "OF COURSE I LIKE WORKING FOR JAM! We are Bee F.F.s! But, I envy you and sonic." "WHY?" Asked tails. "Because you guys work together and you always win! Jam always slips up." "Me and sonic have been friends for a long time! We have a system!" "Oh yeah?" "Yeah!" "Me and Jam need something like that. Either that, or I could just cheat." "Cheating always works!!" Said tails. "As long as you're cheating the enemy, and not your friends!!" "Like duh!" Said the bee. "So, codey, I was thinking we attack from the sky! I've got some toys I want to test out!" Said tails. "Like what!" "I've got this new mini homing rocket launcher. I've got some C-4, grenades, and THIS!" Tails pulled out a miniature fox doll. "This is called the Fox Upsilon." "What does it do?" asked Codey. "You'll see." Tails snickered. "There it is guys!" Codey said, turning around to look at their large army of jellyfish. Of all of the teams, they brought the largest army. Sonic wanted tails to be protected no matter what. "Now we wait for the signal." "What was the signal again?" Tails kicked Codey in the same place that Jam had cracked earlier. "The mayor will shut off all of the lights in the city." "How will we see?!" "You didn't pay attention at all?" "I was sleeping..." Tails pulled out some night vision goggles. "THOSE ARE COOL!" "Thanks" Tails said bashfully. "I made them myself." "You should do this professionally." "Um, It is my profession." "I mean like, get paid for it." "Finally beating eggman is enough payment for me!" Tails said. "Whatever..." Codey smiled. * * * * * "So Jam..." The jewel Studden Julius looked at Jam, who was counting their army. "30." said Jam. "JAM" julius repeated. "What?" Jam turned around. "I'm starting to regret ever chasing you out of the city. I think you would make a great prince. A king even." "I don't want to be king! I didn't even want to be prince. But you can't run away from destiny." Said Jam. "When this is over, will you come back to the city?" Julius asked. "Why don't you be prince in my place?" Jam asked. Julius sighed. "I don't know if I want it anymore. After watching Marcus make such a big deal about it..." "You would make a great prince!" "But fate chose you!" Julius argued. "The city needs someone like you!" "A loser?" Jam asked. "A hero! A roll model! You made even me look bad!" "Whatever..." Jam blushed. "But what about Maia! And sonic! And all of the rest of my friends. Why would they want to live down here in the dark depths of the Ocean when they could run all day in the sun?" "They would go even deeper, just to be with you, Jam!" "You can tell that just by meeting them once?" Jam asked. Julius looked at him, and then said, "Well, no use arguing about it now. Lets just win this and see what happens next." "Sure." A small orange jellyfish started circling around Jam followed by five others. Julius watched. "Malo Kingi, huh?" "YUP!" Jam smiled "Where did they come from?" "These came from the queen bee! She had been keeping them in jars!" "JARS?!" Julius sounded a little bit angry. "Well, they are deadly! She told me that she has never seen them take so well to anybody but me." "See, you're special. I bet all of Amenti would like you just as much as these Jellies." "Yeah. Anyways. There it is. Now we just have to wait for the signal!" * * * * * "SONIC! I HATE YOU!" Shadow said panting. "HAHAHA!" Sonic laughed as he slowed down so shadow could keep up. "So, we're finally working as a team!" Sonic said. "Don't get used to it, blue boy!" Shadow said. "HAHA! I kinda like it!" Sonic said, pinching shadows cheek. "DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN!" Shadow said, moving over away from sonic. "So shadow. Are you going to be able to actually do ANYTHING without the Chaos Emeralds?" Sonic teased. "I can fight you know! I have other abilites. I am the 'Ultimate Life form' after all!" "And yet, you can't beat plain ol' me!" Sonic laughed. "You smile too much!" Shadow said. "You frown too much!" Sonic said. "Whatever! When this is over, we return to just plain regular enemies!" Shadow said. "Right, keep that up, I may just let you drown down here!" Sonic laughed. "SLOW DOWN! The rest of the team can't keep up!" Shadow said. Sonic turned, and squinted, trying to see where they went. About a mile back, he could see the jellyfish tripping over eachother trying to keep up. "Huuu" sonic sighed. "So, here it is!" Sonic looked at the fort. "I say we split up and meet in the middle." Shadow said. "Sounds good to me!" Sonic said. "Huh? Whats that?" Shadow pointed at a robotic egg floating inside the fort through one of the windows. "ROBOTNIK! Whats he doing here?" The city lights suddenly turned off. In the depths of the ocean there were no lights. It was pitch black. "Here we go." Said shadow. Royal Jelly: Part 5 When the lights turned back on, four of the forts were captured. * "HURRAY!" Maia and knuckles jumped for joy. All of the enemies lay asleep on the ground. "I'm so glad you decided to use stun mode." Knuckles said, relieved. "Too bad that eggal got away." "Yeah about that..." * "We are so awesome!" said Amy, high fiving Silver. "Yes we are!" Silver said. He was a little tired from using his telekinetic powers. * "WE DID IT!" tails said, butt bumping with Codey. "Or should I say, Fox Upsilon Did it!" "I want one of those!" Codey said. "Did you happen to notice a robotic bee flying around?" Tails asked. "What? I couldn't tell! I was too busy watching that Fox Upsilon take everyone out!" * "I'm the king of the world!" Jam shouted. "You finally admit it." Julius said, shaking his head. * But sonic and shadow were not quite so lucky. "He got away!" Sonic said, disapointed. "We've got bigger fish to fry!" Shadow said, looking at a large, robotic Jellyfish. "Marcus!" Sonic said. "Hedgehog!" beeped the robotic jellyfish. Shadow and Sonic took turns dodging its spring loaded tentacles. "I know just the thing for this!" Sonic said, pulling out his first aid kit. "VINEGAR!!!" Sonic threw the entire contents on the Robot, disabling all but 2 of its tentacles. "WHAAAAAA!" Marcus cried. "NOW! Hit it!" Sonic said. Shadow lept at the giant Robotic jellyfish, severing its tentacles, which slithered like serpents and finally settled on the ground. The Jellyfish lept out of the fort and swam away. "NOO!" Said Sonic. "Well, at least we've taken over the fort!" Said Shadow. "Yeah, I guess you're right. Now all thats left is to get the base set up, and then head back to talk to the mayor!" * * * * * |
