Six Sonic Adventure 3 Domains Registered

"I didn't use the whole thing ...."
Figured this would be brought at some point, I find it highly unlikely that any of these will turn out to be legit but I thought it was worth bringing to peoples attention.

Four top level domains-sonicadventure3.com, sonicadventure3.net, sonicadventure3.org, and sonicadventure3.info-have all been registered on or around April 22nd of this year by an unknown party, TSSZ has learned.

At present, all pages presently point to a default landing page, and nowhere near Sega's own website.

In the past, Sega had a tendency to register domains for upcoming titles before a formal announcement, either in-house or via third parties, as a means to protect company IP. The way these domains were registered, however, gives plenty of cause for suspicion. This time around, the registrant is the French division of 1&1 Internet, a company primarily focused on web hosting. That is a change from the last three times a Sonic domain was registered. Domains for Sonic Generations, Sonic Free Riders, and Sonic the Hedgehog 4 all eventually fell under the management of EuroDNS, where they remain today. Consider also that, even if Sega's French division was behind the registration of these, the arm closed its doors last month, along with numerous other subdivisions of Sega Europe.

So, the pattern here doesn't really match Sega's past behavior-making the jump to an actual Sonic Adventure 3 in the works very difficult. But with the domains active for over three months, one would think Sega would have caught wind of it and take action were the registrations unauthorized. We’ll keep it under Rumor for now, but don't hold your breath. Thanks to Sawnik98 and Sonication for tipping us.

----
UPDATE: Since this story was first published, we have found two more related domain registrations. One, sonicadventure3.fr, was spotted by tipster Bruno Guerrero via Twitter. We have also since found sonicadventure3.eu. Both domains appear managed by the same 1&1 Hosting division in France, and both appear registered around the same time as the aforementioned four. If this a hoax, it's a very thorough one. We have contacts in France checking this out; if we hear anything more, we will pass it along.

This doesn't really mean anything, though I'm reading this via my 3DS, so I kinda read it in a hurry and might have missed something.

Plus, I swear Sega registered domains for this years ago, but obviously nothing happened. Anyway, tons of franchises registered domain names and hop on the hype/hate train... but nothing hasn't actually happened related to this, so I'm not saying anything till I see more then this.

Either this is a ruse or a prank, or hell is about to freeze over.

It's a prank. There is literally a 0% chance of a "Sonic Adventure 3" EVER happening. It's just a stupid concept that's way past its expiration date. The existence of the domains was already known, as far as I can remember. People just need to shut the hell up about their stupid "SA3". I've heard it one too many times now and I'm well past sick of it.

Yo yo yo! Don't be hatin' on SA3!

Not certain if it would ever happen, but I do hope it does happen. Rather that then anything like Generation, Colors, and 4.

Well he's not really hatin' and personally, I don't ever see SA3 happening myself. Even if it did, I don't think it would live up to the Adventure franchise. Plus rumors come and go, I cannot tell you how many times I've heard that SA3 was coming out in the past years and personally, I'm kind of tired of hearing the rumors myself. No offense.

I object to your claims
I'm sick of the rumors myself - and I don't even like SA2 all that much to think it even deserves a 'proper' sequel. I'd be more apt to accept a Sonic 4 Episode 3, or a Heroes 2, than an SA3. Not even kidding.

I was just foolin' around with that top comment. I know opinions on the SA games are mixed, I'm just saying I'd like to see if it ever happens. I mean really though, they made a sonic 4 despite the fact that they had the advance games, and I really think that all started from all the fans talking about how sonic games could only be good if they're like the classics. There's no sonic game I really hate, colors and 4 are the most unappealing, and generations feels repetitive since it copies the solo sonic trend and unleashed day gameplay with barely any effort over the entire game, but that really it. SA3(I prefer to say New Adventure title anyway, since 06 practically was SA3. I think most people who want this title should really consider that) is a title I'd like to see the most if it happens, since the first two have the most of what I like in sonic games, multiple playable character with their own styles, and deep plot. Shadow was also another fave of mine to, BTW.

I would like to say this though: After the fail of 06(Still liked it BTW), I really feel Sega should've picked up on what was wrong and fixed it in a new game rather then toss everything away and "play it safe", cause overall, despite having some good things in them, the games after 06 got less interesting to me. If not new adventure title, give guys like Knuckles they're own game so we can still play as them, or shadow another game. If there's a chance of a new adventure title, even if it's not as good as SA2, I would appreciate the effort in trying. I also wanna say, while many people say it will fail, I'd like to know how, after all the good titles sega made before and after 06(IMO). I mean, just how bad would you expect it to be?(Don't answer this if you didn't like SA1 or 2, cause you'll most likely state the reasons you don't like them)

This. All this. Especially the Sonic Heroes 2 part.

I could go for a Heroes 2 as long as the narm is taken out and the controls are touched up upon. But it's a bit late for that too. Really, I'd like something fresh.

Although I would like to play as characters besides Sonic for once, too.

Welp. May end up being unrelated, but this is rather interesting.

Honestly, I just wish it wasn't called Sonic Adventure 3, we don't need the name rehashed, but I'm all in for the same, updated concept(Multiple characters, several campaigns, emblem collecting, chao gardens). After all, SA2 is still by far my favorite 3D game.

Feelings still mixed.

But more Hunnid-P to rap for Knuckles? Oh god yes.

I think we could use a new Adventure type game, just not with the “Sonic Adventure” name attached to it. I did like Sonic Adventure and SA 2, actually. Heck, I racked up over 370+ hours on SA2B in the past ten years. And I still actively play it, I just think that maybe, with the way things are going and seeing how most of the fanbrats are such crybabies about almost everything Sonic Team releases, I don't think the majority of fans will accept a new Adventure game.

BTW: No offense to anyone on here about the fanbrats part. Wasn't saying anyone on this forum, just the general consensus of fans who whine about every little thing in every new Sonic title. >_>

We're all generally aware that the forum is a general exception to the stereotypical attitude of the Sonic fanbase. Hell, we're kinda like a little oasis in the desert of nutheaded Sonic "fans".

And I love SA2 as well. I just think that the concept of a new "Adventure" game is so late that it's just stupid to hope for now. But by all means, the formula is welcome.

HUNNID-P!? YES, YES, OH GOD YES
I DON'T CARE WHAT IT IS
BUT IF IT HAS HUNNID-P,
IT WILL BE
ABSOLUTELY
AMAZING

I really and truly wouldn't be shocked if there was an SA3, though, with all the fans clamoring for it.
I loved SA2 to death, so I'll be content if they pull it off right.
I really think I'd rather see SEGA explore some new territory, though.
So maybe that's what they're doing.
