In this topic I will be posting various works of art to get contructive critisim on my work, because to be honest, I'm never satisfied with any of my work. Enough of that though, here are two sprites I've done.![]() This is my first hand drawn sprite I've done. It's going to eventually be put into a fan game in the future, the reason Sonic is in that pose is because the fan game was going to include combat, and I wanted Sonic in a fighting pose. Tell me what could be improved...Does the back spike look like his arm to you guys? ![]() This is my fan character, Rusko The Horned Lizard, this is another hand drawn sprite. He is going to be the main character in my current MMF2 project, which will be a side scrolling beat em up. Something along the lines of Dragon Ball Advance Adventure but with Sonic elements put into it. That's all I can say about that project for now. But yeah, I really dislike it lol. It's difficult to shade something that is the color black, I almost didn't want any shading and to have it be lazy work like the Sonic Advance sprites...Looking at it now, I should put some lighting on the fingers on the back hand, and add fingers to the gloved hand, because that one looks like a boxing glove to me now. All sprites were done in GraphicsGale, MS Paint, and GIMP. I will eventaully post hand drawn pictures colored with GIMP as well. Please give me your thoughts on what could be improved, because I really want my first game to AT LEAST have mid quality graphics. Thanks for your time! |

These are not that bad. The Sonic sprite looks pixely in the eyes, but still, I like it. I used to make sprites a long time ago, but I got bored with it. Your character, Rusko doesn't look bad either. Actually, he's perfect. I would like to see more. :3 |

No backgrounds or templates made yet. I figured that I shouldn't be jumping the gun, because I haven't made the engine for the game. I've been lazy, but I'm going to start programming it tonight though. But thank you both for the compliments and critisim. The thing about Sonic's pose was that, he is infact sorta crouching in a sense. It's based off of the stance he does in Sonic Adventure and in Sonic Battle. Here is the animation of the pose and the running animation I've made. ![]() ![]() This is my first homemade sprite I've ever done, and it took me a week total to make these simplae animations. Of course I'm going to can them for now, and focus on Rusko's sprite sheet instead since he is the new main character in my game. Here is what I have for him at the moment. ![]() I plan on moving the feet to go with the movement of him going up and side to side. I know it's similar to Sonic's standing stance, but hey, it's easier on me lol. But if you notice, I gave Rusko fingers now. The next post of images I upload will be official art of the Rusko game, and some concept art of templates for it. Tell me what you guys think of the animations please, would really help me out a lot. Thank you. |
