Hydrocity Act 2 Posts: 114 Group: B Rank Adventurer Member #12,971 Joined: May 18, 2012	Sonic in Stars and Stripes by Sean Gilbert Previously in Sonic and the Prince of Jellyfish Jam the Jellyfish won the Royal Lottery to become the Prince of his Class. He was chased out of his home city of Amenti just before his Coronation. Jam found a rusty coin in a lost trench which surrounded him with sea water, allowing him to walk on dry land. Jam came to Sea Breeze shore where he found it over run with robots. He was saved by the Blue Blur, Sonic the Hedgehog. The two became good friends. Robotnik stole the Emeralds and brought them to Easter Island where he was building a Rocket. Removing the master Emerald made Angel Island crash! Team Sonic searched the island for survivors, finding just one, an Eagle named Bert. Bert told Sonic that Robotnik had roboticized all of the other animals! Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Jam managed to make it aboard Robotnik's rocket, crashing it into the moon! Robotnik Roboticized Bert, christening him Hawa-tuu-take-take, better known by his code name 'Desert Eggal 322'. Finally, Robotnik used the Emeralds on hismelf, giving him an IQ of 3000! Sonic, Tails and Knuckles turn into their super forms to fight Robotnik and his creations. But the Emeralds interfere with Jam's rusty coin, stopping the flow of water that lets keeps him alive. When Jam finally comes too and joins the fight, the Emeralds shatter!!! Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Jam fight Robotnik in their regular forms knocking him "out of the park!" The crew return home where they say goodbye to Jam! And thats what you missed!! Prologue "You met Sonic THE hedgehog?" asked the guard. "Yep! He sure was something!" Jam said, remembering their adventure. It had been almost a year. Jam had wandered the ocean the entire time, not wanting to return home. "I still can't let you inside. Marcus would have a fit!" said the guard. "I don't want to see you get hurt, Jam!" Jam was upset. How would they ever let him back inside? Just then, Mayor Jelal came outside. "Move aside, guard!" said the Mayor. "Ye-Yes Mr. Mayor!" the guard quickly moved away. "Mr. Collins! Where have you been!" said the Mayor. "That night you came to talk to me, I was chased out of the city by Julius!" Jam said. "Yes. Yes, I've heard. I've brought Julius with me tonight. He wishes to appologize." the Mayor said. Just then, the Jewel studden Jellyfish, Julius came out of Jelel's car. "Jam..." Julius said. "I'm sorry for what I did. I was pressured into it by my Superior, Marcus." Jam thought about it for awhile. "Its okay Julius. I shouldn't have punched you. I'm sorry too." "We are having some security issues here." continued the Mayor. "Marcus has managed to make a deal with many of the Princes. They are planning a Coup de tat." "What?!" said Jam. "We need your help Jam. We have heard the rumors of your adventures with Sonic the hedgehog. We need his help. Do you think you could deliver this message for us?" said the Mayor. Jam took the Envelope. "I can try. I don't think he likes swimming very much..." "I am sorry, Jam, things are not well here. We need to keep a low profile in order to not disturb the order. If we make a wrong move, Marcus could destroy the whole city. We are developing weapons in secret, but we need one year before we will be ready to implement our plan." Julius said. The mayor looked sternly at Jam. "Until that time, we can not let you in the city." the mayor sighed. "In this envelope are the means of contacting us. Please deliver it to Sonic and the Freedom Fighters." Jam looked at the Mayor. "I will be back in one year, Mayor. If anything goes wrong, please send word!" Jam left the city. covert operations he thought. How could that ever turn out well. As Jam was leaving, he could spy several large tanks in the middle of the city. Civil war Its probably safest to do as the mayor said. Prologue part 2 Jam didn't go to shore right away. Instead, he stopped at a well known landmark. 'The Library of Atlantis' Why did he stop here? Thats right... Jam thought I need to find a history book about Amenti so I can figure out whats going on. I should also pick up a map to bring back to sonic. The library was deserted. It had always been deserted. But for some reason the books were never stolen. Legend had it that the library was haunted. Others believed that it was closely watched from afar, and that any tresspassers would be killed by a secret brotherhood. Others just thought it was because sharks don't know how to read. Jam wandered through the hallways of Atlantis. Plato, Sun Tzu, Shakespeare, Homer, Lewis Caroll and other classic literature littered the shelves. Here we go! Jam pulled out a book. The City of Amenti Inside were paintings of jellyfish colonizing the city. Legends, first hand accounts, maps, and statistics were strewn throughout the book. Perfect! Behind the book was a jar. "Malo Kingi: do not open" was written on one label. "KNOX" was written in big letters on top of the jar. Inside the jar was a small jellybean. When Jam got outside, he opened the jar. The jellybean quickly sprouted arms! The arms grew to 3 feet in length!! It was... a jellyfish!! "So, I'm guessing your name is Knox?" the jellyfish glowed twice and circled around him. "I'm jam! If you don't have anything better to do, why don't you come with me!" The jellyfish followed him all the way to the surface. Stars and Stripes: Part 1 "KAZAAM!" Jam said kicking open the front door. "What up Jellin'?! long time no see!" Sonic said with a huge smile on his face. "Not much sonic! I've got some bad news." Jam said handing sonic the envelope. Sonic opened it. "Dear Sonic, I am writing to you as the Mayor of Amenti. We need your help! The city of Amenti is in a state of Civil war. Several of the princes are plotting a coup de tat. The main adversary is our war general, Marcus Cassius. He is dangerous and has brought weapons into the city. We are planning to counter his forces, but we need one year to gather enough strength to fight back. We have enclosed software which will allow you to contact us without him knowing. We have also enclosed vouchers for deep sea gear. We heard you can't swim. Please keep in contact. We will begin our counter attack in one year. Until then, please be safe and do not come near the city." "I'll get on it!" Sonic said. He was a true hero. No one ever needed to beg for his help. He handed the software disc to one of the Techies and brought the voucher to the supplies manager. "How are things up here?" Jam asked. "We are still trying to figure out what happened to the Emeralds..." Sonic said. "We think that they broke from some sort of energy overload." knuckles said, walking in. "The emeralds don't run out of energy. The only possible explanation is that there was too much energy inside them, forcing them to shatter." Tails added, turning around from his swivel chair. "Where did all the energy go?" asked Jam. "Thats what we're trying to figure out..." Sonic said, disappointed. "We don't think its even in the solar system anymore. It could be anywhere!" "But we can't worry too much about it. I think we have to face the fact that the emeralds are gone. This time for good." Knuckles said, shaking his head. "There's something else though! When the emeralds shattered, some of the residual energy stayed inside each of us. So now, I sometimes get a power boost!" Sonic said, optimistically. "Yeah us too!" Tails said, pointing at himself and knuckles. "Do you want me to show you?" Sonic asked. "Sure!" Jam said. "Lets go outside!" Sonic grabbed one of his power rings and jolted out the door. Outside, sonic and Jam stood in a long clearing. "Lets race!" sonic said, tossing Jam a power ring. "alright!" Jam said getting in position. "On your marks" tails counted down. "Get set.... Go!!" Jam and Sonic took off running. They were an even match as they ran through the woods, jumping over fallen branches and creeks. Jam sprung off a few trees when necessary to avoid wild animals. "Here I go!" Sonic said, gripping the ring tightly. He changed color from cobalt blue to a dark midnight blue. Residual energy channeled through his spikes, jumping from point to point. He didn't get faster, but he gave off a pressure that silenced the forest. Jam could no longer hear the chirping birds or snapping twigs. Jam felt his heart racing from the pressure and he had to stop. He didn't know what it was. He felt 'spooked'. Sonic raced ahead, not realizing that Jam had stopped. Jam was now in a clearing by a pond. Around him he could see buds growing on trees and from the ground. But they were all dying. Many of the plants seemed trampled. Sonic now turned around to find Jam. "Whats wrong? why'd you stop?" sonic asked. "Look!" Jam said pointing at the dying buds. "They're dying!" sonic said. "What do you think is causing that?" all of a sudden, a black and yellow striped winged creature jumped out from behind a tree. "WHO GOES THERE!" it said. "I'm sonic! and this is Jam." "Sonic the hedgehog?" it replied. "The one and only!" "I'm Tobi. I'm a bee!" It had a stinger, so it must be a girl bee. "Hey tobi, why are all of these buds dying?" asked jam, pointing around. "Um... well... We think someone is killing them..." The bee said, clearly distraught. "who would do a thing like that?" sonic asked. "Do... Do you think you think you could come back to the hive with me? We are having a crisis and I think you might be the only one who can help!" "Sure thing, just let me go tell my friends!" Sonic said. "Jam, you stay here." Sonic took off running like the wind. Stars and Stripes: Part 2 "I hate bees!" said amy. "Come on amy, you're always telling me that we should do more things together..." Sonic said, rubbing his head. "But bees? Ewww!! I just want to squash them all!!" Amy said. "Don't be like that Amy they seem really nice. And besides, its your duty as a Freedom Fighter to help anyone in need. Even if you don't like them!" Sonic said. "I know!" Amy said. "Why don't I go to the store and buy some flower seeds for the pond! If we repopulate their gardens, then maybe they won't be hungry anymore!" "Thats a great idea amy!" Jam said. "It is?" sonic asked, surprised that Amy was actually useful for once. "Oh this will be so much fun sonic! I know all about flowers! I like daisies and petunias and sunflowers and forget-me-knots and lilies..." Amy trailed off. "But can you guess my favorite flower, Sonic?" "Hmm... I don't know.." Sonic paused, but the spark in his eye showed that he already knew the answer. "Roses!" Amy threw her hands up and started dancing. "Wow..." Knuckles said, walking in. "You sure look excited, Amy." "I'm going shopping! Amy said, pulling out her credit card. "Walk me to my car sonic!" Sonic shook his head and walked with her to her red sporty convertable. "Well, you have my cell phone number if anything goes wrong! Bye" Amy drove off. "Why did we have to walk her to her car?" Jam asked. "Its a girl thing." Sonic sighed. "Well you guys ready to go?" Knuckles asked, grabbing a bag of supplies. "Sure thing Boss!" Jam said. "Lets go!" * * * * * Tails drove his golf cart out to the pond. He didn't want to run over any plants on his way down the trails. "Doo doo dooo..." Tails sang. "Sonic. I was wondering. What's your favorite genre of music." "Thats easy tails! I LOVE country music!" Sonic replied. "Really?? How come I never knew that?" Tails said, cocking his head. "Whats your favorite, little buddy?" Sonic asked. "I like hip hop music!" Tails said with a mean face. "WHoa there little guy, keep it clean." Sonic rolled his eyes. "What about you Jam?" Tails asked. "I like rock music!" Jam said, giving the universal rock & roll sign with his hands, and sticking out his tongue. Sonic looked in the back seat. "How about you Rad Red?" "I like pop music!" Knuckles said. "What???? Who would have thunk it!" Sonic said, eyeing knuckles. "OH YEAH! Well its better than country music!!" Knuckles sneered. "Calm down guy, sheesh" Sonic said, turning the radio to a pop station for knuckles. "Anyway, this is the place, tails, pull over!" Sonic said, pointing towards level ground where tails could park. The team god out of the Golf cart and headed towards the hive. Several large bees without stingers circled around them. "Tee hee duhhh look at this, bawss!" the bee said, taking knuckles bag away from him. "Dis Mary's gotta Purse!" "BOYD!" shouted another bee. This one had a stinger. "Leave the visitors alone!!" The larger bee handed knuckles his bag back and flew off. "Um like HI! I am Melissa, I will be your guide today." Said the bee. She seemed more important than the other bees. Perhaps a high ranking Worker Bee. "Let me show you around!" "Hi melissa, I'm--" Sonic was cut off and she dragged him halfway across the property. "So like this is the garden. Everythings like dead right now and like.." she shook her head. "I like totally think its the end of the world." "Whaaa" Melissa dragged sonic and now Jam into the mix. "This is like where the Drones are born." She pointed at some hexagon shaped chambers. "Slow down!" Sonic said, bumping his head as she ducked under some branches to get to the opposite side of the hive. "And this is like where we keep the honey. DON'T TOUCH!" This last part was specifically directed at Sonic and none of the others. "I wasn't going to-- WHAAA" She dragged him clear around back by the pond. Near the pond, a pastel blonde bee was dancing gracefully on the water. "Laaa laaa laaa - and I - just want - to stiiiing - yoooou" hummed the bee as she spun around and lept across a barren lily pad. Jam was starstruck. Knuckles noticed quickly and said to Jam, "Go talk to her." Knuckles nudged him but he didn't move. So knuckles punched him in the shoulder as hard as he could. "OWWW!! I Told you to STICKIN' STOP THAT Knuckles!!!" jam said, rubbing his shoulder. "Its like okay sweety, just put some honey on it!" Said melissa brushing them off like they weren't even there. "Oh hi!" said the dancing bee. "You must be sonic! I've heard a lot about you." "Thats right! This is tails, thats Knuckles, and that over there is Jam!" Sonic said, introducing his team members. "Hi! Its a pleasure to meet you all!" said the bee. "I'm Maia." "GET DOWN ON YOUR KNEES!" shouted Melissa at the heroes. "This is our mighty princess you are speaking to! You shall bow when speaking!!" Jam immediately got down on his knees. Sonic shrugged and followed suit. "Um are you supposed to be a flower?" Maia asked jam unexpectedly. "Huh?" Jam asked? "Its okay, you can stand. Melissa leave us alone, this is business." "Right away Mighty Princess!" Replied the bee, buzzing back towards the hive. "I said, are you a flower?" "No? Do i look like one?" "Hmmm... No, not really. But you smell like one." Maia looked away, embarassed. "Forgive me, I'm just really hungry. You see..." "We noticed all of the flowers are dying!" Sonic said. "What happened?" Tails asked. "Well, it all started a year ago... My little brother left the hive. He was being bullied and they told him he couldn't come back. I went out looking for him and when I didn't come back, my mother came looking for me herself! And then she got kidnapped by a loud machine!" "This is sounding a little too familiar!" Sonic said. "How long has the Queen been gone?" Tails asked. "She's been gone for one week now. I don't know if the hive will be able to make it without her." tears were welling in her eyes. "I Miss them so much!" "We'll help you find them!" Sonic said. "Oh you will?! Thank you!!" Maia hugged sonic. Jam saw this and got a little impatient. "A herm!!" Jam coughed. Sonic pushed a little and said, "Princess, do you know where they might have gone?" "They went east!" She said. "Well then thats where we're going!" Sonic said. "By the way, my uh... friend! Amy! is coming by with some flower seeds. She says she can help regrow some of the flowers that died!" "Really, thats wonderful news! I hope to hear from you soon!" Maia waved. She was definitely cheered up. "Bye!" Jam waved. "Nice to meet you, mighty princess!" Tails bowed. "Uh, what he said!" Knuckles said as politely as he knew how. "See you later princess!" Sonic said, and the team hopped in their golf cart and left. Stars and Stripes: Part 3 "Jam has a cruush!" Knuckles teased, punching Jam in the shoulder. "I do not!!! And even if I did, its none of your business!!" Jam replied. "Hey!!" Sonic said, feeling as though he were sitting on something. He stood up. "Who's this little guy?" A small jellyfish hovered up and looked sonic in the face, pointing a tentacle at him. "STOP! Thats my friend!" Jam said to the jellyfish, pushing it out of the way before it stung sonic. "Um.. I mean... This is Knox! I've sort of adopted him!" "Knox huh?" Sonic said. "Awee, he's cute!!" Tails said, poking him. "I wouldn't do that if I were you!" Jam said. "Why?" Knuckles huffed, crossing his arms. "Some little thing like that is supposed to be dangerous?" "Don't say I didn't warn you..." Jam said. Knox stung knuckles in the face. Knuckles began siezing. "Get the first aid kit..." Jam sighed. Tails brought him the first aid kit and Jam poured some vinegar on knuckles face, followed by a bandaid. "There good as new." "That smarts!" knuckles said. "Where'd you find him?" Tails asked. "I found him in a jar. I freed him and now I think he wants to be my body guard!" Jam said. "I can't tell because he doesn't talk but he is really protective of me now." "Where did you find the jar?" Sonic asked. "With this book, at this old Library!" Jam said, pulling out the book about his home town. "According to this book, its a Malo Kingi! The deadliest of all jellyfish. They were thought to be extinct, but according to this book, they have all been captured so they won't hurt anybody!" "Tell me more about this book!" Sonic said. "Yeah, I want to hear too!" Tails said. "In good time! Right now, we have to help Maia!" "Thats right! So due east from here is...?" Jam looked at the map. "There are 7 rivers flowing down from Mount Alresch due east of here. We should hit several sub-rivers, a city or two, a dam, and a mining center. "Mining center..." what are they mining? Sonic asked suspiciously. "I think its a coal mine." Said Jam. "But... according to the location, I would guess that there are gemstones there. And not just any gemstones, guys. I think that this mine could contain a special kind of stone that would have to capacity of storing data." "Data?" Knuckles asked. "Oh! I've heard about that!" Tails said. "Supposedly there are some gemstones that can be used in computers. But there are also gemstones that can talk to eachother!" "I bet that Yolkbrain is forcing his henchman to mine that area." "This could be bad sonic! If he IS mining that area... The computers he could make would not only have higher capabilities! They would be nearly impossible to defeat, as they are made of hard gemstone!" "Well then, we better hurry up before he implements his plan! Drive faster!!!" sonic said. *Stars and Stripes: Part 4* "Hello sir, my name is Amy. I would like..." Amy pushed the store manager out of the way so she could see the products on display. "40 of those, 100 of these, 20 of these, and oh, 1 of whatever that is over there..." "Oh miss... that would be terribly expensive!" Amy scowled. "DO I LOOK BROKE TO YOU?!" Amy handed him her credit card. "Hey kid!" the manager called out back. "We need to borrow your pick-up. We have a heavy load here!" "Be right there boss!" * * * Amy tipped the bag boy and looked at the boxes she had just bought. "Yes sir, I do love shopping!" she said to herself. "Though maybe I shouldn't have gotten so many boxes of bug spray... Better safe than sorry though!" Amy put on her gardening clothes and loaded a box into her car and drove to Budding Springs where the bees lived. "I need some music..." She turned on the radio. "I am in the mood for country music." An elvis song was on. "Ain't nothin but a hound dog.." "Just cryin all the time" amy sang along. She watched the scenery change from green to brown as she got closer. "This doesn't look good." "Hi!" said a bee, seemingly out of nowhere. Amy jumped. "Ah, you scared me..." She was a little bit uncomfortable. "I'm like melissa and like I heard you were coming so I decided to like come out here and like like help!" the bee said cheerfully. She saw the bags and boxes in Amy's car. "Oh, I like totally love shopping don't you!" the bee said, ecstatically. "WHAT? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I LOVE SHOPPING!!" amy's fear died down. "Like Whats this?" asked the bee, pulling out some bug spray from amy's front seat. "Oh nothing!! Mosquitoes, I just hate them you know!" Amy's cheeks turned red. "Like totally! Like lets get started then girlfriend!" melissa took a box out of the car. "ROSES! My favorite! Bee friendly!" "ME TOO!!! THEY'RE MY FAVORITE TOO!" Amy jumped up. "Hey melissa, do you want to be friends!" "LIKE FER SURE!!!" Melissa said jumping up and down with amy. "Okay, here's my phone number, I have unlimited texting, long distance, picture messaging, data transfer, and i can download all the ringtones i want! So, call me anytime" "Look, our phones match! like aren't we the coolest!" said melissa. "Like totally!" Amy said. "Well lets get started, where should we plant these?" "How about over there!" amy pointed "PERFECT!" the two got busy and within an hour, they were out of roses. "Well now what?" Melissa asked. "We can go to my house and get some more roses." "Or... we could like go shopping!!!" Melissa said pulling out her credit card. "AWESOME!! LETS GO!" "Okay, but first... I think princess Maia would like to come with us if thats okay with you?" "Um..." Amy thought for a second. "I don't see why not!!" "Great! lets go get her!" Stars and Stripes: Part 5 Click. Sonic hit the end-call button on his phone. "Well, that was Amy!" Sonic said. "She, Melissa, and Maia are going to the mall." "Girls... I will never understand them" Knuckles said. "Thats because you are one!" Tails joked. "Haha, nice one!" Jam chuckled. "Shut up fur ball." knuckles said. All of a sudden, a strange robotic insect jumped in front of the golf cart, causing tails to swerve. He managed to save the cart though, and he put it into park. "Well its about time we saw one of Robotnik's eggheads." Sonic said, getting in attack position. "You must be sonic!" Beeped the robot. "I am ROBEY! MWAHAHAHA! I mean. Prepare to die!" The robot fired at sonic, who dodged the laser beam. It hit the golf cart, melting it like wax. "Good aim, Bob!" Sonic said. "Care to try that one again?" "Shut it big mouth!" The robot fired again, this time nearly hitting jam. "Now its personal!" Jam said, getting ready to fight him. But before he could move, knox had hovered over to the robotic insect and gotten under its shell. "YOOOOOWWWW!" yelped the robot, jumping. "WHAT WAS THAT?" he swatted at the small jellyfish who fell to the ground. "KNOX!!" Jam ran over to the jellyfish, and seeing that he was okay, placed him safely on his shoulder. "YOU BETTER WATCH IT!" Jam said. And then he noticed the stripes around the robot's abdomen. A bee... he thought. no stinger... He quickly maneuvered over to tails and whispered, "I think thats maia's little brother!" Tails realised it too, and pulled out a small electronic device from knuckles' bag. "Huh?" said knuckles. "I'm going to try and scan its signals and then fire a disrupter at it." Tails said, turning the device on. "Keep him busy for a second!" "Sure thing!" Knuckles said. "Right behind you!" Jam said. Sonic, who was already distracting ROBEY, ran some loops over the robots head and then dropped down on top of it. ROBEY shook him off and shot another laser at it. Sonic jumped into the air, dodging the beam and hopped on top of a branch. Knuckles and Jam used a two pronged attack, each coming from both sides, but the Robot jumped backwards, and they hit eachother. "Dang it!" Knuckles said. He can't fly noticed sonic. Tails had finished scanning the robot and was preparing the disrupter cannon when a dark familiar face creeped up from behind the robot. SHADOW Sonic watched the dark hedgehog as he put a gun to the Robots head. "DON'T SHOOT!" "Whatever you say..." Shadow said, shrugging. He pistol whipped the Robot, who in turn fell on the ground. "Who are you?" asked Jam. "I'm shadow. The leanest, meanest hedgehog on the planet. Whats it to you?" Jam stared at him for a minute. "I'm jam. Nice to meet you!" Shadow ignored him and turned away. Knox had hovered off of Jam's shoulder and aimed a tentacle at the back of shadow's head, but shadow moved and the penny sized jellyfish slipped and tumbled through the air. "Now for the grand finale!" Tails said, getting ready to press the button on his disrupter cannon. But the Robot shoved off the ground and ran away. Several Robots jumped out of the bushes, leaving ROBEY with a clean escape. "Grr..." Tails said. "FINE! Take this robots!" he fired the disrupter cannon at the new wave of enemies. He took this opportunity to hack into the mainframe and deroboticize the robots. "Shadow! What are you doing here?" Sonic asked. "Just exercising, Blue boy. I'm not here to help you with your mission." He glanced at Jam. "Now if you'll excuse me... I have better things to do." The dark hedgehog ran off the way he came, disappearing into the darkness. "Huh? Where's he off to in such a hurry?" Jam asked. "Tea party??" Sonic said sarcastically. "It doesn't matter. Just let him go." "Who was he anyway?" Jam asked. "A no good piece of --" "Knuckles! don't even finish that sentence." sonic said, putting his hand on knuckles mouth. "uh hett ih wheh yoh dvo dat thonikh" Knuckles said under sonic's hand. "Ew, gross... Echidna slober" Sonic said, whiping his hand off. "YOU GUYS, CHECK THIS OUT!" Tails said, pulling up his scanner. "What are we looking at?" Sonic asked. On the screen was a profile of a young male bee. 'Codey the Honeybee; Missing for one year. Please contact 1-800-MY-HONEY to report any information on this missing bee'. "This is him! This is Maia's brother!" Jam said. "What else does it say?" sonic asked. "Well... It shows some of the parts that were used to roboticize him. Check this out..." Tails said, his voice getting really serious. The image showed several missing limbs replaced with robotic limbs, amputated wings, an attempt to add a stinger, and a heart that has been replaced with an Egg. "This is bad sonic..." Tails said. "I'm not sure if these operations are reversible. If his heart has been replaced, we might never be able to de-roboticize him!" "But... We have to..." Jam said. "We will do whatever we have to." Sonic said. "I promise" Stars and Stripes: Part 6 Shadow walked through the dark forest. "Sonic. He's so irritating." Shadow huffed. Eggman is back for more huh? Why won't he learn. This is my territory now. I'd better go see whats up. There were no sounds in the forest other than the black hedgehog's footsteps. But without the chaos emeralds... I can't use chaos control. He snorted* Oh well, I can beat eggman by myself.* Shadow crossed into the first major city. It was bustling with activity. No sign of robotnik here. Shadow thought. Then he saw the bee that had escaped earlier. He tried to follow it, but lost it on the way out of the city. It dropped something. A blue-green colored jewel. Aquamarine? Shadow thought. He focused for a minute. His face scrunched up. Nope. Can't use chaos control. He thought. "Shadow?" came a familiar voice from behind him. He looked around. A silver hedgehog stood behind him. "Silver..." Shadow said. And under his breath: "ughh". "What are you doing out this way?" "Two words: Egg. Man." After deciding to team up, the two ran east. * * * * * Tails was looking through Jam's book. "So, the difference between Jelly and Jam is that Jelly is made out of juice and jam is made out of bits and pieces of fruit." Tails continued. "And a preserve is just the generic term for any jelly or jam. And a CONSERVE is made out of whole fruit and its a lot runnier." "Haha. I guess that makes Jam a CONSERVE-ative" Knuckles chuckled. "Shut up ant breath!" Jam said. "Why don't you come up with some better come back lines than that, you little snot" Knuckles said, punching jam in the shoulder. "STOP DOING THAT!" Jam smacked him. Knox jumped off Jam's shoulder and got tangled in Knuckles hair. "Hey, no fair, Knox! Knock it off!" Knuckles said, flinging the miniature jellyfish onto sonic's back. "HEY OWW!" Sonic said, carefully removing the stinging Malo Kingi from his spines. "I'm thirsty!" Tails chimed in. "NO ONE CARES TAILS!" Knuckles said. "But I want something to drink. Sonic...!!" "Tails, we can stop in that big city. I'm sure there's something to drink!" sonic said, trying to keep calm. "But we don't have any money! Amy took her credit card, remember!!" tails whined. "Oh yeah... uh.... Well... ummm.....GAAH!! How am I going to get a chili dog?!!" Sonic realized. "Well... It just so happens..." Knuckles said. "I brought powdered juice mix and some water bottles! All we need to do is add water!!" "GREAT!!" Tails said. "Buttt... Chili dog." Sonic's eyes welled up. "Chilax True Blue. I've got you covered!" Knuckles pulled out some canned hot dogs and canned chili. "I LOVE YOU KNUCKLES!!" Sonic hugged him. "GET OFF!" knuckles shoved his face to the ground. "YAY PICNIC!" Jam shouted. The team stopped at some picnic tables on the outskirts of the city. "Sho, whatch goog gemblemen" Sonic said, spitting his food everywhere. "I think this will be an easy mission! We're almost there!" Jam said, looking up the river toward the giant mountain. "Yeah, we'll probably be there by nightfall!" Tails said cheerfully, sipping on his juice. "So Jam, I was looking at this book of yours. Its interesting. Your home city seems to be even older than Angel Island." Knuckles said. "Wook, derz ewen shapdr abouw da kkaowsh emeradzz" Sonic said, trying to keep his food in his mouth, but utterly failing. "Yeah! There was once a shrine dedicated to one of the chaos emeralds. But the strangest part is that it mentions the chaos emeralds being formed long after the city was built. And the emerald was only there temporarily." Jam said. "What?" Sonic said, gulping down his food and washing it down with some juice. "Your city is even older than the chaos emeralds?" Knuckles asked. "That is ancient! And if a chaos emerald was stored there, how come we have no records of your city up here?" "Hmm... I am not sure... But Now that I think about it, I have another book that might be able to tell us something!" Jam pulled out his Laws of the Ocean book that he received after winning the Royal Lottery. "Whats that?" Sonic asked? "This was written by the King of the Ocean at the beginning of our city's history. He saved one of our ancestors named Asura and gave the book to him and his family. Asura became the King, but did not follow the rules, and was assassinated." "Keep going!" Tails said, "This is a good story, I can tell!" "Asura was assassinated and mummified outside the city walls. The group that killed him did it in secret with the power of a gem that was given to them by the king of the Ocean. Do you think it was a chaos emerald?" "Maybe..." Sonic said, deep in thought. "The gem was made by the King of the Ocean for the sole purpose of defeating Asura." "Then what about the other six gems? And the master Emerald?" Knuckles asked. "It doesn't say... I'm not even 100% sure it was the Master Emerald." Jam said. "Look at this!!" Tails said, "Some of the pages have been torn out of this history book!" "Huh? Gimme that!" Jam took the book from tails. Sure enough, 3 pages were missing. "You know..." Jam said, looking at the book. "I bet the Mayor has a copy of this book somewhere." "Then I guess we will have to wait and see..." Sonic said. "Argh! I hate cliff hangers!" Knuckles cried. Stars and Stripes: Part 7 "So Amy, how long have you known Sonic?" Maia asked. "A looong time! About as long as I can remember!" Amy said. "But it seems like just yesterday, he saved me from that Monster, Robotnik! Ahhhh... Good times." "You are so lucky to have a boyfriend like him!" Maia said. Amy blushed. "Well, he's not my boyfriend, technically. He's never actually asked me out..." "Like all in good time, girlfriend!" Melissa said. "Like yeah..." the three of them sighed. "I've never been on a date before!" Maia said. "Like yeah! I tried to like order some other bees to take her on a date, but they like died. Poor things they don't live very long these days!" Melissa said, staring into space. "I know! Why don't I ask knuckles if he will go out with you!" Amy suggested. "Knuckles? That big red brute? I dunno..." Maia said. "LIKE HE'S TOTALLY CUTE!" Melissa said, drooling. "I'd go out with him!" Then she stopped. "I MEAN LIKE Maia gets the first pick of course!" Maia continued. "My six sisters keep sabbotaging my relationships. Everytime I like a boy, they sting him and I never see him again!" "What?? THATS AWEFUL!" Amy said. "Well, LIKE, there can totally only be one Queen bee from the seven of them. OF COURSE they're gonnna like sabbotage her relationships!!" Melissa said "STOP DEFENDING THEM, MEL!" Maia said. "THEY AREN'T HERE TO HEAR YOU SUCK UP TO THEM!" "Like, you're right, mighty princess, Like forgive me! They are all totally like evil, each and every one!" Melissa said. "Thats what I thought!" Maia glared. "HAHAHA" Amy laughed uncomfortably. "So is sonic really as good as they say he is?" Maia asked. "Like, will he really be able to save the queen?!" "LIKE TOTALLY!" Amy said confidently. "NO QUESTION! You're mom is as good as home!" "Thats a relief!" Maia said. "Like totally! I don't think I could go another day like bossing those bees around. They are like totally not worth it. Maia I can't like wait til you become queen so we can get rid of all the old bees they like get on my nerves." "MEL!" Maia said. "Those are our family members!" "My little brother always wanted a stinger..." "Who?" "Codey, he's my little brother. He was always jealous of us because we had stingers and made honey. He never learned how." "Its because he like doesn't have a dad..." Melissa said. "MEL!" Maia glared again. "ITS LIKE NOT EVEN A SECRET!" Melissa cried. "Anyways he's always cried because he didn't have a male father figure." "AWWWW THATS CUTE!" Amy said. "So he like tries to do all the things girl bees do but he can't because he's like a BOY!" Melissa tried to hide a laugh. "ITS NOT FUNNY MEL!" Maia said, backhanding her. "HAHAHAHA Like I mean, I'm sorry, mighty princess." Melissa stopped laughing. "Hey does that thing look like... OFF... to you?" she pointed. A large silhouette of an egg with wings stood in front of the sun. It came closer. "HAULT!" beeped the winged egg. It was a robot. It held a pistol to Both Amy and Maia's heads. "I am Hawa-tuu-take-take. YOU THREE ARE COMING WITH ME!" * * * * * Shadow and silver creeped towards the entrance to the mine. "What do you think is down there?" Silver asked. "Coal?" Shadow suggested. "And probably a Robotic egg with a death wish." "Yeah so who goes in first?" Silver looked in in the dark cave. "Well, how about you, since you're the one who thought of it first!" Shadow suggested. "WHAT?! I Think you should go in first since you like dark holes like this!" "HOW ABOUT NEITHER!" beeped a robot from behind them. It was ROBEY, the insect that Shadow had fought earlier. "OH YOU WANT TO FIGHT!" Silver said, blasting a telekinetic wave at it. The Robotic Insect flew into the air and dodged the attack, firing a laser in response. wings!! Shadow thought. But before he could react, the two hedgehogs were hit by lasers. "We don't have any money, remember?" Knuckles said. "I wanna go to!" sonic said. "Jam?" Knuckles looked at him. "Whats a flea market?" Jam asked. "They sell all kinds of old trinkets and toys. Sometimes they sell stereos and TVs too." Tails said. "YEAH I WANNA GO CAN WE GO?" Jam said, excited. Knuckles rolled his eyes. The team walked down the street towards the flea market, looking at the various stands. "Look! Video games!" Tails said. "SORRY, these are just boxes. We can't sell video games here cough cough cough." The salesman made some strange hand gesture. Apparently he would sell them on the black market if he needed to. The team kept walking. "Hey, what do you think they did before video games?" Tails asked. "We played pogs!" Jam said. "What are pogs?" Tails asked. "I dont remember. Some Hawaiian game." "Hey guys, look!" Sonic said, pointing up in the sky. "Its Bert!! And he's carrying something!" (Thats Hawa-tuu-take-take AKA Desert Eggal 322 for you newcomers) "HELLLP!" "ITS AMY!" Sonic said. "Look! Maia's with her too!" Jam said. "FOLLOW THAT BIRD!" Sonic said. "Its an egg now!" Jam said. "Don't remind me." The team raced out of town, following Desert Eggal 322 up out of the city, but stopped when they hit the river. The dam that was supposed to stop the water from flowing down the mountain had been opened, blocking the way across the river. "Looks like we need to find another way across the river!" knuckles said. "NOT IF I CAN HELP IT!" sonic used his special technique to cut down some trees and then used the trees as a dam. "Wow" Jam said. "You're like a beaver sonic!" Tails said. "I'm Better than a beaver! I'm a hedgehog!" Sonic winked. "Anyways, quit beating around the bush sonic, lets go!" Knuckles whined. "Already on it!" Sonic said, halfway accross the river. The team followed him across the river, which had now dried up. "Dang it!" Sonic said. "Lost him!" "Well we already know where he's going!" Knuckles said. "Yeah! Up there!" Sonic pointed at the mouth of the cave, high up on the mountain. "What a strange place for a cave to be." Jam said. "What do you mean?" Tails asked. "Why do we have to climb up a mountain to go into a cave that leads down into the earth. Shouldn't the mine be lower?" "You're paranoid." Knuckles said, starting the climb up. "We'll follow you knuckles." Sonic said. Tails was already flying up. "STOP TAILS!" Sonic said. "WHYYY?!" tails whined. "You need to stay near the rear so if anybody falls you can drop down and catch them. You're the only one who can fly." Sonic said. "Good point... I'll just fly and wait. Fly and wait. 'K?" "'K" "Movin on up... to the east side..." Jam started singing. "Stop that" Knuckles said punching jam in the shoulder. Jam fell off the side of the mountain. "Don't worry Jam! I got chuuu!" Tails said. "Thanks buddy" Jam said. "No problem Jam." Stars and Stripes: Part 9 Shadow and Silver could overhear Robotnik and ROBEY talking. "Nice work, Robey, for your first time out." Robotnik's annoying voice echoed through the dark cave. "I failed to get the blue one." Robey sounded disappointed. "All in good time." Shadow and Silver could hear some drilling sounds followed by the uncomfortable yelps of ROBEY. "There. All finished." Robotnik said. "Thank you sir." The two hedgehogs could see ROBEY walking out of the cave. WHAT IS THAT?! a shocked look exchanged Shadow and silver's face. * * * * * "Where are we?" Amy said, waking up. She was a little dizzy as though she had gotten hit in the head. Maia and Melissa were out cold. But they were still breathing. Amy looked around. She could hardly see because of the darkness, but it was clear they were in some sort of cell. Just outside the cell, Amy could make out mining equipment, and lots of pieces of coal. "Like whoaa!" Melissa said, sitting up. "Like Ooochy whow wow" She said, and fell back over. Maia looked hurt. Oh no! Thought Amy. She remembered the Large Eggal that had brought them here. It had a gun. What do i do? Amy looked around some more and saw melissa's cell phone. After calling and then texting sonic, she began scrolling through the apps on the phone. "Maps" she said, pushing the touch screen. "Where am I?" The phone showed a location in the mountain range. She zoomed in. "Mount Alresch" She did a search for the mountain. "Coal Mine. May be haunted. Closed off due to an explosion 40 years ago." Melissa made some sounds and then began drooling. "Ah here it is" Amy said pushing a the touch screen. An app opened on the cell phone. "FLASHLIGHT!!" Amy aimed the flashlight at the lock and pulled a nail file out of her shoe. She stuck it in the keyhole and fiddled with it. "Click" the door opened. She looked around some more, finding a large Hammer. "This could be useful!" She thought, grabbing it. Amy began exploring the room until she found an oil lamp. She lit it and then placed Melissa's cell phone next to her side. "I'll be back. Please bee safe!" Amy said softly. She ran out of the room and into a long tunnel. Left was a dead end, so she turned right. It was a long tunnel filled with mining chambers. In the rooms she could hear plenty of Robots mining. "Give me this!" She heard one of the robots say. It sounded like the Eggal that had kidnapped them. She hid and looked in the room. Inside, the robots were mining. But they were tossing away all of the coal. In the Eggal's hand, she could see a bright blue-green gem. Aquamarine? She thought. What are they going to do with that? The eggal put the stone in a machine. The machine flashed and displayed copious amounts of data. And when it was done, the eggal placed the stone inside a box. "King Robotnik will be pleased." Said the eggal. Seriously, please demonstrate what that is for so I can stop freaking out already! Amy thought. The box started beeping and then she noticed what the box was when the eggal turned around, revealing a missing portion of his anatomy. That is his mainframe! He's upgrading! Finally the eggal placed the box back inside his chest and he gave off a strange Aura she had never seen in a Machine. And then the eggal teleported somewhere. OH NO! She thought. THIS IS BAD! IF ROBOTNIK CAN MAKE A MACHINE DO THAT, JUST IMAGINE WHAT HE COULD DO TO HIMSELF! * * * * * What an annoying hedgehog. He's snoring! Thought Shadow as he watched Silver blow snot bubbles out of his nose. "Well well well. If it isn't the Other annoying porkchop." Robotnik said, walking into the cell room. "Eggman!" Shadow replied. "huh?! I'm awake!" Silver said, fumbling to get on his feet. "EGGMAN!" Silver launched a telekinetic wave at Robotnik but it didn't even pass through the cell walls. "Its no use, Hedgehog, this cell is padded with anti-kinetic microchips. You're power won't work here." "We'll see about that!" Silver said. But looking around, he realized he couldn't fight back in these conditions. "It doesn't matter!!" Robotnik said. "Because in a matter of minutes, you will be my slave!" A hatch opened, and Desert Eggal 322 Entered the cell. "Whaa! Who are you?!" Silver said, using a Psywave on him. But he used one right back. "You can't beat us!" Shadow snickered and jumped up aiming his foot right at the eggal's head. The eggal dodged and grabbed silver, throwing him at Shadow. Shadow collapsed and Silver used his psywave powers to quickly gain his balance, pushing off the cell walls at the Eggal's mainframe. The Eggal turned sideways, dodging both attacks, and then hit both hedgehogs to opposite sides of the cell. The cell reacted by releasing large metalic claws which held onto the hedgehogs, immobilizing them. The eggal placed helmets on each of the hedgehogs heads, Roboticizing them. "AAAAAARRGGH!!" "WAAAAAAAAA!!!" And it was over. A wall was placed between the two robotic hedgehogs and the eggal left the cell. "Good work, Desert Eggal." Robotnik's praise was rare. And thus it was all the more precious. Stars and Stripes: Part 10 Knuckles and Jam creeped towards the entrance to the mine. "What do you think is down there?" Jam asked. "Coal?" Knuckles suggested. "And probably a Robotic egg with a death wish." "Yeah so who goes in first?" Jam looked in in the dark cave. "Well, how about you, since you're the one who thought of it first!" Knuckles suggested. "WHAT?! I Think you should go in first since you like dark holes like this!" "How about you both go in first!" Sonic pushed them both in. Jam's glow in the dark flesh lit the cave walls so the team could see. "How will we ever find them? This place is enourmous!" Tails said. "Look! There's Amy's Cell phone!" Sonic said. "Hey where's your cell phone?" Tails asked. "It got melted with the golf cart" Sonic sulked. "Oh... I hope amy's alright! You should bring her phone back to her I'm sure she misses it!" Tails said. "Hmm..." Sonic picked the phone up. He played with the apps. "FLASHLIGHT!" The team went down a long tunnel. There were mining robots everywhere. The team were able to sneak past them. At the end of the tunnel, they found a room. "Sonic!" Amy screamed jumping out of the darkness. "AHHHH!" Sonic jumped. Amy hugged him. "Am I glad to see you, Sonic!" "Is that Maia?" Jam pointed. He ran over to her and noticed she wasn't doing too well. He placed a bandaid on her and she got up. "Sonic is that you?" Maia asked. "No, Its me Jam. Sonic is over there with amy. Are you okay?" Jam asked. Maia sat up. "I think so. Now that you guys are here." "Can you stand?" Jam asked. "I think so." The bee stood up and looked around. She saw Melissa on the floor. And kicked her. "MEL GET UP BEE". Melissa sat up, a string of slobber trailing from the corner of her mouth to her hand. "like i'm up. i'm up." "You guys have to be careful! We're in a very dangerous spot" Sonic whispered. "We're surrounded by robots. Robotnik is in here somewhere, and we still haven't found Codey or the Queen." "Have you heard anything about Codey?!" Maia asked. "He's been roboticized..." Jam said sorrowfully. "It might be irreversible." "NOO" Maia started crying. "Princess, we have to get moving. Codey will be fine. Sonic's here!" "Knuckles -- Get Amy and these two lovely ladies out of here. Oh, and Amy, here's your cell phone. Sorry, my phone melted." Sonic said handing Amy her phone. "Tails, Jam -- You guys come with me!" Knuckles took Amy, Maia, and Melissa and went back the way they came. Sonic, Tails, and Jam seperated from them at a fork halfway down the tunnel. This new tunnel went deep down into the bowels of the mountain. "Are you sure about this sonic?" tails asked. "Tails, can you survey the tunnels for us?" Sonic asked. Tails pulled out small device that seemed to send off radar signals throughout the cave. Tails stopped running as they passed a small crevice. He looked at the crevice. "Sonic! This way!" Tails said, pointing. "Ill go first!" Jam said. "Light the way!" Jam squeezed throught he crevice entering into a large chamber filled with large processing devices. Sonic and tails were able to squeeze through, but just barely. Sonic got one of his spines stuck in a crack, and now he had a wound on it. "Yowch!" Jam said, sticking a bandaid on it. "Thanks guy!" "Don't mention it." "What is this place?" Sonic said looking around. Tails pulled out his surveying device again and held it up. "This looks like the base of operations. Look!" Tails pointed at a large tube filled with liquid. Inside the tube, a large insect was being harvested for eggs. "ITS THE QUEEN!" Sonic said. "We have to get her out of there!" Jam said. "We can't just yet!" Sonic said. "It could be dangerous. She might be safer in here until we make sure No one will get in the way of her escape." Jam stared in the chamber for awhile. "SONIC!" came a robotic voice behind them. Sonic turned around to see two robotic hedgehogs and one big, fat egg. * * * Stars and Stripes: Part 11 Knuckles finally led his party outside. "This way!" he said pointing even further away from the entrance to the cave -- to a location where they might be safe. "Do you think they'll be okay?" Maia asked. "I hope so!" Amy said, not as confidently as before. "I don't know what I would do without sonic!" "Anyway, I think we're safe here." Knuckles said casually. "Like what is this place?" Melissa asked. "Its a mine. They are mining some kind of gem that is used in making robots." "I saw it!" Amy said. "The big Eggal that captured us placed one of the gems in his mainframe, and then he was able to teleport! I don't know what these gems are, but I'm scared!" "Teleport?!" knuckles was surprised. "Well, I'm ready if he comes out here!" Amy gripped the hammer she found in the mine. It reminded her of her own weapon. "Yeah, me too!" Knuckles said. "Well, I'm ready too!" Maia said, pulling out a small gun from out of her shirt. "What is that?!" Knuckles asked "AND HOW WERE YOU HIDING IT?!" "This is a little thing I like to call the Mad Hatter!" "Why is it called that?" Amy asked. "Like it caps people!!" Melissa responded. "OH HEY KNUCKLES. I have to ask you somthing!" Amy whispered in Knuckles' ear. Knuckles glanced over at Maia and then blushing turned back to amy. "You have to bring that up NOW?!" Amy whispered something else and he looked at Melissa. Knuckles punched amy. "OWWW!" "Like whoa, don't like hit a girl!!" Melissa scolded. Knuckles turned away from the girls towards the mine entrance. "HEy, someone's coming out!" A large robotic insect with wings and jewel encrusted armor walked out. "Is that Codey!" Maia said. "SHH, he'll hear us!" Knuckles said. "WHAT KIND OF A SOFT NAME IS CODEY?!" beeped the insect, turning around. "I'm ROBEY now!" the insect flew at Maia, and she dodged, jumping out of the way while still managing to stay on the tip of her toes. Knuckles punched at the robotic bee, but it teleported, kicking him from behind. "WHAAA!!" knuckles fell over. Melissa jumped at him, "Like BYAAAAAH!!!" she said grappling him. the two insects locked in combat. Meanwhile, the large desert Eggal teleported outside. "Hey Eggal! Heads up!" Amy said, swinging her hammer at the large Eggal. The Eggal dodged and aimed his pistol at Amy, firing. "Didn't anyone teach you any manners!" Amy said, swinging her hammer at the gun, smashing it. The eggal grabbed onto her arm and flipped ontop of the eggal and ripped out its feathers. "You look better bald!" she said. then she smoothly ripped out the Eggal's mainframe and smashed it to bits, the gem along with it. "Good riddance!" she said. Meanwhile, Melissa was still holding on to ROBEY. "Don'T EVER touch the princess like that!" Melissa said. "GET OFF, BEE!" Shouted ROBEY, tossing Melissa over his shoulder. Maia held the Mad Hatter to ROBEY's Wings, and he teleported behind her, taking the weapon out of her hand. "THATS IT!" knuckles said. The residual energy from the shattered Emeralds pumped through his body, turning him a brighter red and giving him more strength. He punched the bee, cracking its armor "CODEY" Maia began to cry. She couldn't bear to see her little brother get beaten up, so she turned away. When Knuckles and Melissa were done, Maia turned around to see the bee laying on the ground with its mainframe ripped out along with the gems in its armor. "NOOO!!" Maia cried. But it was too late. The team took a minute to regroup. "That was close!" Knuckles said. "Too close." Amy replied. "Lets get out of here." Knuckles said, floating down off of the mountain with amy. The two bees flew after him, Maia still crying for her lost brother. Stars and Stripes: Part 12 "Robotnik" Sonic cringed. "Hedgehog!" "What have you done to our friends!!" Tails shouted. "They're my friends now!" Robotnik laughed. "Hedgehogs! Take care of these pests for me!" The robotic shadow dove across the battlefield, going for sonic's throat. Sonic easily dodged and jumped over the dark hedgehog only to run into the Silver. The silver robot used a psywave to blast sonic into the ceiling. He then teleported to where sonic was and kicked him to the ground. Finally, he finished his combo by dropping from the sky with his elbow aimed straight for sonic's stomach. Sonic rolled backwards to get out of silver's way and then countered by flip kicking silver straight at shadow. The two robotic hedgehogs recovered and stood up. "Now its time to play!" Sonic said. He powered up, his fur turning a midnight blue. Residual energy flew from spike to spike. He resembled the night sky itself. Tails likewise powered up. His fur turned a milky white and stood on end. Sonic went after Silver, this time hitting his core and knocking him unconscious. Tails fired his disrupter cannon at Shadow, likewise turning him unconscious. "Two down. One to go!" Jam said eying robotnik. "HAHAHA! You didn't think I would go down that easily! Did you?!" Robotnik flipped a switch on his egg mobile. "This is just the beginning, mincemeat!" Silver stood up, though clearly he was still unconscious. All of a sudden, the room began to glow. The team could now see what was inside the room: Thousands upon thousands of Aquamarine gems. Robotnik flipped another switch and Silver began to glow. "OH NO!!" Sonic said. In the middle of the room, electricity started jumping. It sounded like miniature thunder claps. Then a giant portal ripped open. Robotnik jumped through. "Hasta la vista!! Hedgehog!!" The portal closed. "Silver! Shadow!" sonic cried, looking at the unconcious robotic hedgehogs on the ground. "I'm on it sonic!" Tails quickly went over and deroboticized them. "That was close..." Jam said, whiping his forehead. Silver sat up. "What happened?" "That rotten egg happened thats what" Shadow scowled, already on his feet. "Robotnik used your power to open a portal!" Sonic said. "How is that possible without the chaos emeralds?" Silver was confused. "Look around" Tails said. "These aquamarine crystals are talking to eachother, and other crystals around the universe. Robotnik must have programmed them to react with your power and open a rift somewhere!" "Can you open it again?" Jam asked. "I'll see what I can do, Jellyfish!" Silver said. He focused and sure enough, the portal reopened. Sonic, Tails, and Jam jumped through the portal, but silver collapsed from a lack of energy. The portal closed. "They'll be okay!" Sonic said as the team raced through the rift. All around, the team could see past events that have occured: Sonic meeting Maia, Jam meeting Knox, Amy and Melissa planting flowers... Then they saw the chaos emeralds cracking. But as soon as they passed it, the event was over. Finally, they reached the end of the rift and saw robotnik standing with the Chaos Emeralds. "NOO!!!" Sonic shouted! Sonic went after Robotnik before he could utilize them. But a large Desert Eggal and Robotic Bee stepped out from behind Robotnik, protecting him. Tails jumped towards the Desert Eggal, quickly pulling the gun from his hand. But as soon as he did, the rift shook and the desert Eggal was holding onto the foxes tails and still holding his gun. Jam jumped after the robotic bee. Knox jumped off of his shoulders and strangled the bee. But again, the rift shook and ROBEY had knox in a jar. Sonic attacked Robotnik. But the rift shook and Robotnik's Egg mobile was seated inside M.E.C.H.A., his large robotic masterpiece. Mecha punched sonic. Sonic realized that with the emeralds so close, he could use them and he turned super sonic, bursting a hole through M.E.C.H.A. Tails used his special attack, "Milky way" to send a streaming white light at the desert Eggal. The rift shook again, and knox was free, and Tails once again had the desert Eggal's gun in his hand. "THE RIFT IS UNSTABLE!" sonic yelled, bursting another hole through M.E.C.H.A. Tails launched another Milky Way attack at the desert Eggal, short circuiting parts of his machinery. Finally Jam was face to face against ROBEY. The robot had fired a laser at the Jellyfish's head. But the Emeralds interfered. A bright green light refracted through Jam's flesh. The power of his coin stopped pumping water around him. But strangely, Knox had the same ability as the coin, and water flowed from knox instead. Jam's flesh became extremely slick and transparent. He looked almost like a ghost. When light hit him, it refracted into rainbows. ROBEY launched an attack at Jam, but Jam easily slipped out of the way. The Rift shook again and again while the team fought against robotnik. Finally, when each of the mechanical monstrosities were defeated, Robotnik used the last remaining energy of his fake aquamarine crystals to launch a cosmic wave at the chaos emeralds. The wave hit the emeralds just as outside the time rift, the chaos emeralds were shattering. They both shattered together. At the same time. The team each lost their powers, just as before, but kept residual energy inside each of them. The rift became extremely unstable, but there was no way out. Knox, Jam, Sonic, and Tails used their remaining energy to blast a hole in the rift back at the beginning of the tunnel. But they each got separated on the way to the tunnel. "SONIC!" yelled Jam as he got seperated from the group. "JUST RUN TOWARDS THE HOLE!" Sonic yelled. "We will meet you outside!" Sonic grabbed onto tails' hand and ran towards the hole jumping through. Jam fell out of the rift for a split second. "huh? Where am I?" jam looked around. The coin around his neck was once again pumping out sea water. In front of him, he could see a small bee crying. "What's wrong?" Jam asked the crying bee. "Waaaah!" the bee cried. "I want to go home!! they told me i can't go home. Waaaah!!!" "Its okay. Its okay. The princess is looking for you!" jam said. "Huh?? Sis?" The bee cheered up. "Do you want to come with me?" Jam asked. "Don't let the other bees hurt me okay." the bee said. "I promise!!" Jam said. Knox jumped up on top of jam's shoulder. "OKAY!" said the bee, taking jam's hand. The rift sucked them back through and tossed them into the future where sonic and tails were waiting for them. "JAM YOU'RE OKAY!" Sonic said. "Yeah I'm okay!" "Who is this little guy?!" Sonic asked looking at the bee. "I'm codey!" said the bee, holding Jam's hand tightly. Sonic and tails smiled at eachother. "I'm Sonic!" "And I'm tails!" The team freed the queen from the chamber and left the mine. Outside, Shadow, Silver, Amy, Maia, and Melissa were waiting for them. "SONIC!!" Amy said wiping tears from her eyes. "I'm so glad you're okay!!" "Why wouldn't I be!!" Sonic said. "Codey!! Mom!!" "Big Sis!!" The queen bee was still out cold and Melissa tended to her. "Like she'll be okay guys! Lets get her home!" * * * * * The team had won yet another fight against the giant egg. The queen was brought safely home where she restored order to the kingdom. "Thank you for freeing me!" said Queen Plaion. "Miss Amy, thank you for replanting the flowers. Mister Collins, thank you for saving my son. And Sonic, thank you for getting rid of the threat, Robotnik!" "All in a days work!" said sonic. "I would like to show my gratitude by giving you each a reward." "Oh its no big deal!" Sonic said. "Yeah!" tails agreed. "Reward?" Knuckles said. "A lifetime supply of honey for each of my heroes!!" Queen Plaion said. "And for you, Mr. Collins." She eyed knox. She had her worker bees bring out 6 jars. Inside each of the jars was a jellybean: Marmalade, Chutney, Agar, Confetti, Concord, and Konjac. "This is great!" Jam said, grinning. The team all went outside into the gardens. Many bees were outside and Maia pointed out her 6 sisters: Aster, Mero, Ele, Selena, Jeta, and Alyson. "So, Maia..." Jam said. "I was wondering..." "Yes" "would you go on a date with me?" "A date?!" Maia smiled. "I've never been on a date before!" "Me neither!" Jam exclaimed. The two held hands and walked through the gardens. Where ever they went, the buds bloomed. Every last one. At the end of the date, Jam turned to Maia. "I made this for you, princess." He handed her a drawing with a jellyfish and a crown. "What is it?" Maia asked. "Its a drawing of me!" Jam said embarassed. "So you never forget me! I put my phone number on the back... So call me maybe?" "Aww, thats sweet!" Maia kissed him on the cheek. She wrote her phone number on his hand. "JAM!" Sonic yelled. "Are you ready to go?" Maia looked at Jam and blushed. "Maybe I will." Jam waved at her and Sonic and his team went back to knothole village. "Don't forget, Jam! We still have a lot of work to do before we go free YOUR city!" Sonic said. "Yeah, I know...
