In a parallel universe to Earth, lives the world of Kaen. Ten thousands of years ago, Kaen was once one, individual land, with four different nations; Primus, Leham, Alona and Terbia. However, the world met it's first war, the War of Seals, around the year 1258. It first began with a fued between the old Primus Region and Leham Region. What eventually started the ordeal was a noblewoman of Leham was crossing the borders of the Leh-Mus border. Primus natives found the maiden and kidnapped her, holding her hostage. After several demands for her release, Lehamians began to form an advance to attack the Leh-Mus border and attack Primus head on using military force. In response to this, Primions met their borderline assault with their own, and clashed many swords and battle forces. Throughout the war, Primus demanded the neighboring region, Alona, for resources and men, should they run out of bodies to control the armies of Leham. Alona refused, due to the fact it shared kinship with both Leham and Primus, and therefore, could not aid one side without aiding the other. Furious, Primus targeted Alona as well, using arcane magic that summoned enormous monsters, calling them "Dragons". Unlike in myths where these usually sacred beasts are revered as holy and saint creatures, these summoned Dragons were brutal, dangerous, and destructive. They bore no wings, but breathed an unwelcoming flames to anyone who dared cross paths.

During the course of the man versus monster war, Alona eventually sided with Leham, having been inflicted with attacks from their brother nation, Primus. Both Leham and Alona weren't enough manpower to overthrow this destructive, indescisive battle worn and rugged war. Both sides were running out of resources, manpower, and necessities needed to keep the war fueled. Anger and rage were not alone to withhold the immense struggle between both; therefore a truce was called forth by many a counselor from each of the three nations. The conflict lasted 50 years, the truce silencing it around the year 1308. With many losses on each side, a treaty was signed by the nobles of the countries, each noble house contributing to the restoration of their land masses. This treaty was called the Truce of Seals. With this, the monstrous "dragons" were sealed off at the faroff land of Alona, which eventually formed into a deserted cave. Around the year 1435, the land that carried the cave that housed the sealed creatures broke off from the main land, eventually sailing across the Cantan Sea and became a separate, archipelago of sorts on its own. These islands were later dubbed the "Nova Islands" and were strictly forbidden of trespassers.

Around that area, strong waves, clashed, making it impassable for ships to sail there anyhow. These rough waters were soon labeled the "Fallen Tides"; this is due to the fact that a person will fall off their ship should they attempt to foolishly sail there and never come back alive.

The land mass of Kaen shifted and developed into vast places. Rivers and lakes emerged to allow access to water closer to home, and more forests grew within years, thanks to the rich soil. By the time the year 1516 arrived in Kaen, Primus, Alona and Leham were rebuilt and restored to their former selves, albeit much different than several years prior. During these times, the Terbia territory became hostile and dry, even with the water nearby. It was dry year-round, the sun glowing its hottest there than anywhere else. Several ruins of the old ages surfaced in the Terbian region, however nobody has ever confirmed of this in the mainlands.

Regardless, the world of Kaen was at complete peace and livelihood.

...Or was it?

In the year 1652 in Kaen, and the Primus region had begun to close itself off from its neighboring nations, Leham and Alona. It appears they have mastered some form of illegal magic; the same magic their ancestors used in the War of Seals to create those "dragons" have surfaced again. They have perfected the spells and created living, breathing and winged monsters, now labeled "Battle Dragons". These artificially created wyverns are the air-steeds of Primus, being trained for some reason... Meanwhile, Alona has discovered the means of flight for the flightless ones; airplanes. These single seated aircrafts of machinery required resources of mining material, which Alona supplied immensely with insourcing of its own mines. These planes supported hand crafted bombs by their miners. In Leham, they have multiplied in a various tactical ways, finding ways to combat aerial attacks. Why the nations were creating these things, nobody truly knew.

Within the year of 1907, the arcane magic had dispersed, leaving it scarce among even the knowledgeable elderly. It is said that the old spells will find the one they deem responsible and pure enough to wield its might, said by the legends of old. You are a sellsword, coming from your faraway home region to earn a living by helping the citizens you come across. Technology has advanced, however, it appears to be exclusive to Primus and Alona. With bandits roaming around everywhere, you have every penny to make while dealing with them and other tasks assigned to you. Whether you are by the sword or by the lance, you are unaware of the impending danger that is nearby...

You are living in a magic-less, or magic-scarce world. You live by traveling and earning money, taking on any kind of job offer around. Whether it's hunting outlaws, punishing looting bandits and thieves or escorting a child to the schools, they're everywhere. As a sellsword, you live anywhere, going from Inn to Inn in towns you come across. There's no boundries to where you can and can't go--except royal palaces and noble homes. You may be a revered person of strength or skill, or maybe just starting out to pay for wages.

Since it is scarce, depending on how far the role-play goes, someone/others will get assigned with a magical ability. You cannot sign up with an already known magic, however.

Fire: The creation of flames. The user can manipulate heat as well.
Water: The creation of water. The user can manipulate ice as well as cold temperatures.
Air: The creation of wind. The user can manipulate tornadoes, cyclones and generate pulses of wind.
Earth: The creation of earth. The user can manipulate plants as well as concrete and to heavier extents, metal.
Divine: The creation of holy and light. The user can manipulate antimatter as well as portions of time.
Dark: The creation of darkness and death. The user can dispell the shadows easily and manipulate shadows as well.
Lightning: The creation of wind and water. The user can not only manipulate storms, but generate electricity from one of the single elements.

It is medieval fantasy. Also, before anyone says anything, I got this idea from combining the Fire Emblem and Golden Sun ideas together, albeit, using original ideas than the two. Both were an inspiration to this, so if you see similarities, that's why. Don't kill me for that.
