I will enter two for now. I think Flash would be more of my main, with Jewel being a later addition? Also, this is copy pasta from my posts from way back when. ^^;
Flash Name: Lucius Summerbreeze
Nicknames: Flash (always in place of his real name now-a-days), Lucky (rarely used)
Age: 21
Alignment: Good Advanced: Lawful Good
Species: Serval
Gender: Male
Height: 4’0”
Weight: 82 lbs.
IQ: 113
Marital Status: Single
DOB: January 29th
Birthplace: Tree Top Hill Town, Verdant Forest
*Current* Residence: None, wanders from town to town
Occupation: None
Social Class: Formerly a gang member, now a wandering “Freedom Fighter.”
Economic Class: Lower-Middle Class
Personailty: Lucius is a very calm and collected person with a strong righteous attitude. He is selfless and has a strong belief of giving and helping others, putting them first. This stems from his belief of finding redemption; repenting for past deeds. Lucius is quite an advice giver as well, acting as a mentor or person to talk to when others have problems. Despite all his advice, he seems to be unable to solve his own problems. He has problems accepting his past and bottles up his emotions (towards his past). He has no problems talking with others, but responds coldly/negatively if asked questions that delve too far into his past. Lucuius seems to have an Atlas Complex, so to speak. He feels that he must carry the world’s problems on his shoulders and will never fully receive penance for his past deeds.
Appearance: A goldenrod yellow serval with orange thunder markings on his fur. He has orange eyes and a fluffy white muzzle. As with all servals, he has long ears that are close together. He also has a round patch of white fur on his body. He wears a brown choker that has a small metal chain on it (it’s like a collar). His gloves are brown and are covered by a metallic plate on the top of the hands. There seems to be what looks like orange circuits that go to his fingertips from under the metal plate. There is also a long band of metal** that reaches from the end of the gloves to his elbows. He wears a brown utility belt across his waist with a few pouches on it to store small items. He wears brown boots that reach just below his knees. These also have a metal band on them (the top of the metal band goes above his knees**). Finally, Lucius has two metal rings near the tip of his tail. **The metal bars and rings he wears appear to be held in place via electromagnetism. This causes them to float slightly above his limbs.
Friends: Formerly friends with a gang know as the Midnight Strikers.
Enemies: Can depend due to his wandering
Rivals: Currently none
Known Family: Anula Summerbreeze (15) ~ Lucius’s younger sister. He last saw his younger sister 5 years ago before the local factory malfunctioned and decimated the entire town. Lucius has high hopes that his sister has made it out alive and has been tracking down clues that could lead to her possible whereabouts. It is unknown where her exact location is, if she did survive. Unnamed mother and father.
Likes: Giving advice, traveling, keeping the peace, and giving to society.
Dislikes: Lawbreakers/criminals (those who would get in the way of maintaining peace and upholding the law), most of his past and what he did
Basic Stats (added numbers cannot exceed 40) Agility - 4 Speed - 5 Strength - 4 Defense - 5 Evasiveness - 5 Dexterity - 5 Intelligence - 5 Skill – 7
Top Speed: 115 MPH
Abilities/Attacks: Electrokinesis – Lucuis’ entire body is charged with an electric current, allowing him to create electricity and attack his foes with it. His hands act as an unclosed circuit when his gloves are not covering his hands, meaning that physical contact with his hands will cause the electricity to run through that person (Similar to touching an electrified fence or item that has been struck by lightning, the person who touches it finishes and grounds the circuit, becoming electrocuted).
Strengths: Well balanced in terms of combat. Can take off his gloves and unleash stronger electric attacks.
Weaknesses: Has to constantly keep his powers in check; can run out of energy or become overcharged with energy (which means channeling excess power to his staff). Like real electricity (or a battery), Flash can use up all his energy. Doing so means either: a) Resting until his powers recharge or b) Hoping his staff has energy to replenish him. Taking off his gloves to fight means he uses his energy much faster. Flash can also become overloaded, meaning an excess of electricity. This can make his powers unpredictable (Example: he tries to attack a target, but instead nothing happens. He fires electricity when he doesn’t want to.)
Weapons/Items: Staff – used to channel and keep his powers in check, but can also be used as a weapon. Metal bars- the metallic bars that are on Flash’s arms and legs can be used as a defense against attack in that area.
History: Lucius was the first child born to the Summerbreeze family after they began their new life in Verdant Forest. His family, living in a poor community in Cat Country, moved to Verdant Forest in hopes of getting better pay and achieving a better life for their planned family. Through much perseverance, Lucius’s mother and father were able to save up enough money to decently support their family. They sent their son to school by age six and began plans on having their next child, Anula. Lucius and his sister Anula were nearly inseparable and the two were always playing together. Not only this, but Anula had begun to look up to her older brother as an ideal role model. Lucius had been a good student throughout elementary school and was active in many clubs when he began middle school. But by the time Lucius had become 12, he began to hang out with the wrong crowd. Lucius joined a small gang, known as the Midnight Strikers, that dedicated themselves to vandalism and theft. As his actions began to go downhill, so did his grades and the very fabric of his family’s lives. His parents, no longer able bear the strain of their bad child, kicked their son out of the house by age 16, but in his opinion, he was the one who left his family on his own accord. He turned to his new family, the gang, and continued to terrorize the town. Lucius had bigger hopes in mind though and wanted to make a bigger name for himself. The town knew the band of vandals, but he wanted to be forever immortalized; he wanted to be known by his face instead of merely being known as a Midnight Striker. Instead of follow the gang to vandalize a nearby town, he decided that he would sneak into the local factory and tag the building as well as possibly steal some cash. He had high hopes that this scheme would also make him a higher ranking member (possibly even make him the new leader). Upon sneaking onto the grounds, he was caught in a large explosion that sent him crashing into the electric fence that surrounded the premises. He woke up later to find his girlfriend Cookie, a member of the gang, who had come to see if he was alright. There had been rumors circulating of a loud explosion in town. Lucius reached out his hand to be helped off the ground, but as his hand made contact, his girlfriend began to convulse as electricity coursed through her. Lucius got up and went to her side, only to realize that he was the cause of what had happened. Lucius fled towards his family’s house to seek help, but found that the home had been turned to rubble. Lucius rummaged through the home and noticed there was small singed note. Barely readable, he could make out that it was a note from his sister, who had gone out to find him. She was very worried about his well-being and hoped to convince him to make amends. It was from that day forward that Lucius had been changed, not only physically, but mentally. He had a realization of the path he had currently been on and (although an accident), had killed a person. He believed that this change was a second chance at life and he would repent for the deeds he had previously done. Lucius donned the name Flash, possibly as a way of trying to forget his past life, and dedicated his [new] life to helping those in need, but he also hopes to find the whereabouts of Anula…
Vice/Virute: Virtue -- Righteousness. Flash tries to act in the most morally acceptable ways, putting others first, helping those in need, etc. This is a total flip flop from his former lifestyle.
Jewel Amoure Name: Jewel Amoure'
Age: 17
Alignment: Good Advanced: Neutral Good
Species: Echidna
Gender: Female
Height: 3’5”
Weight: 68 lbs.
IQ: 120
Marital Status: Single.
DOB: August 23rd
Birthplace: Echidnaopolis, Angel Island
*Current* Residence: Echidnaopolis, Angel Island
*Current* Occupation: Student
Economic Class: Middle Class
Personailty: Jewel is a kind and caring girl who enjoys socializing and making new friends. She has a very strong “moral code” and looks out for and protects people who she considers friends or allies; she would be willing to put herself in harms way if it ensured her friend’s safety. (She would stand up for a friend’s beliefs) In battle, Jewel is usually calm and plans her moves carefully, but it is not uncommon for her to lose her temper if provoked enough. Coupled with an occasional bit of being headstrong or stubborn when she sets an idea (she feels is right or necessary) into motion, she can dig herself into a lot of trouble.
Appearance: A purple female echidna with light purple hair and hazel eyes. Her hair is parted down the middle – the right side splits into four long tufts the farther down her face it goes. This is the longest part of her hair, with the longest tuft reaching near the bottom of her muzzle. The right side covers much of her eye from a front view. The left side of her hair is kept nearly brushed together and sweeps around her eye. Jewel wears a green long-sleeved jacket which she normally keeps unzipped. Underneath this she wears a baby blue tube top. It has a bow on the top and has a scalloped look at the bottom of the outfit. She wears gloves that are cut at the fingers. Jewel wears a black belt with a silver diamond buckle, it’s normally not visible because it is covered by her top. She wears long khaki pants that have a scalloped look (like her shirt). Her shoes are red with a white diamond shape in the center.
Friends: Taru-ka: Jewel’s friend since she was a baby. Taru-ka considers himself as Jewel’s boyfriend** due to a childhood promise she made. He’s kept to those words ever since, despite Jewel feeling they are just friends. Taru-ka and Jewel’s families had been friends (known each other) years before either of them were born. Both their father’s became friends while in the military. **It should be noted: Taru-ka’s self-proclamation should not be seen as being the equivalent of Amy’s infatuation to Sonic because he [Taru-ka] does not chase or swoon over Jewel.**
Keiri-rei: Jewel’s friend since she was 5. Keiri-rei was a quiet newcomer to Jewel’s kindergarten, but something about her introduction to the class just clicked and the two instantly became friends. Keiri-rei is very shy and soft-spoken (and easily embarrassed). Jewel numerously stood up for her throughout the years.
Enemies: NightShade
Rivals: Daisy: Daisy gives weight to the words “sibling rivalry,” possibly even to an extreme measure. She left home after feeling inferior and out of the spotlight when Jewel is born, with another baby on the way, she finally runs away from home. Daisy joins an extremist group of echidnas who, among other things, back the Dark Legion. Simply put; between being jealous of her sisters (mainly towards Jewel) and supporting the belief echidnas are the superior beings (and still rule much of the world like they once did), she has developed a strong hatred (rivalry) against Jewel. Daisy and Jewel’s views are as opposite as can be and she feels that Jewel is in the way of this organization’s goals.
Known Family: Zachary (56)- Jewel’s father. Sarah (51)- Jewel’s mother. Daisy (21)- Jewel’s older sibling. Daisy ran away from home after realizing she would no longer be the favorite; be spoiled since she was the only child. Despite numerous encounters later in life, Jewel prefers to not answer that she has an older sister and acts as if she disappeared and was never found. It is possible she’s embarrassed or angered that her sister ran away for selfish reasons and joined an extremist group or it could be that she is saddened and hurt that her sister ran away and turned her back on the family. Kiko (11)- Jewel’s younger sibling. Kiko is into the rising technology phenomenon and trends that most teens/pre-teens are into today. She is rarely seen without her cell phone or mp3 player in hand. She also is an avid extreme gear rider; a sport that is very common for children in her age group. She has a decent understanding of technology and can fix minor problems. Kiko has her respects for Jewel, but finds her sister’s aptitude when it comes to technology a bit laughable. Glitter (7)- Jewel’s younger sibling. Glitter currently looks up to her older siblings and parents. She likes to emulate what they do and tag along with them, although she can be annoying sometimes. Glitter is very curious.
Likes: Socializing -- being with friends/family, dancing, swordplay, mythology/history, Freedom Fighter concepts (adventure, protecting the weak, etc.)
Dislikes: Excessive violence (AKA killing), letting her friends get hurt
Favorite color(s): Baby blue
Basic Stats (added numbers cannot exceed 40) Agility - 7 Speed - 5 Strength - 3 Defense - 3 Evasiveness - 4 Dexterity - 6 Intelligence - 6 Skill – 6
Top Speed: 118 MPH
Abilities/Attacks: Basic Combat Jewel knows how to toss a punch or kick here and there. Though melee combat is more of a last resort for her; she does not excel in this mode of fighting. This is her weakest method of fighting.
Fencing Jewel excels in fencing. She has combined many of the moves she was taught by Taru-ka’s grandfather with some of her dance moves. Her sword occasionally exhibits the power of the wind.
Strengths: Very fast and agile with a rapier (quick attacks). She has combined some of her dancing with her swordplay; giving her some unique (and different) attacks than normal. The rapier is imbued with the power of wind; giving certain attacks an extra kick (stronger damage than normal).
Weaknesses: Despite being quite agile, Jewel has a very weak defense and can be quite susceptible to surprise attacks. She’s even more vulnerable with a lack of her rapier because hand-to-hand combat is her weakest fighting style. Although her weapon can use the power of the wind, Jewel cannot fully tap into the sword’s power; only a few of her attacks (that she’s practiced) can use this (80% chance). More often than not, the power seems to be used at random. Jewel can be very headstrong when she sets her sights on something, a trait that usually more often than not leads her into deep trouble.
Weapons/Items: Rapier Upon the hilt it reads, “Divinus.” But much of the writing seems to be hard to read.
History: Born on August 23rd, Jewel was the second child born in the Amoure’ family. Sticking to the same naming convention, Jewel was named after one of the notable objects her parents saw during their pregnancy. In this case it was her parent’s first sight of the Chaos Emeralds darting across the sky. Her family lives in a small two story home in the older part of the city of Echidnapolis. Because her father befriended someone in the military, she automatically became friends with a fellow newborn child, Taru-ka. Jewel’s older sister also had a slight, but reluctant friendship with her. Her sister Daisy was growing increasingly bothered by a new child in the family, because it meant more time devoted to the younger, growing child. Jewel’s early years were typical to any young child; bonding and learning the ropes of the world as she grew. By age 5, Jewel was entering elementary school, where she met her next closest friend, Keiri-rei. Keiri was a shy and nervous girl who was new to Echidnapolis. Being the custom for new students, she had to get up in front of the class, but she couldn’t bear to speak. Jewel decided to take the new girl under her wing and show her around; hopefully help her overcome being shy. Keiri has gratitude towards Jewel for becoming her first friend in this new place and the two have continued their friendship since. It was during this time Jewel was introduced to Taru-ka’s grandfather and his “dojo.” She would find an interest in combat; karate etc. Deciding she wanted a sword, she asked her parents. Although reluctant, they would allow her a real blade as long as she didn’t use it until properly trained. Agreeing to never use the sword unless the time came, they took her to a local antique shop. Entering the shop, Jewel was drawn to a strange rapier in the corner of the shop. Unable to sell the weapon, the man offered them a deal, they accepted. Thus began her training. Jewel began training in the art of fencing and spent about 10 years honing her skills. Jewel was asked to bring the sword in one day to Taru-ka’s grandfather. Upon swing the rapier towards a wall, a small gust of wind slashed from the blade. Shocked, she was requested to try and cause the rapier to do it again. Although unable to recreate the move on the second try, the rapier would sometimes emit gusts of wind at random times. No one could pinpoint why the sword did what it did; sometimes with concentration it would work, sometimes her emotions, but there was no set pattern. 1 year later, at the age of 6, her mother was pregnant and about to give birth to their next child. Tensions began to flare in the household as Daisy began to protest the new child. Her sister had finally had enough and Daisy ran away the day before her mother went into labor. The family was distraught by this turn of events and despite their best efforts, Daisy was never found. Jewel is currently in her final years of High School and has recently taken up fencing again after a year away from it. During one of the lessons, something spurs her interest in the sword she had acquired. It is then that she decides she should figure out where the blade came from and if there is any way to control its powers; to harness them correctly.
Vice/Virute: Vice -- Impulsive/Headstrong. Jewel's has a lack of combat experience applied to the real world and thus she has a willingness to act on impulse/be headstrong during fights due to thinking it's the right thing.

'The air is choked with dust so thick that at times, all I can do is cough up mud. The buildings, long since burned to husks still stare down accusingly at me from time to time... I think that's how he sees us, the Eye I mean. The Eye of Pandemonium. He took my friends away and forces me to live my life in this bleak pit of hell. There is no real shelter because, whenever I dig in for the night, the Fleshrenders come, looming across the wastes like hounds out of the darkest pits of hell. ...Dig in for the night. Ha! I almost forgot how stupid that sounds now. There is no day in this place, no way to record the passage of time. Perhaps time doesn't even exist here, They come for us when we feel safest. Dark as night and even more silent. I haven't slept in days. When I get a chance to, I wake up almost immediately from the nightmares. During the walks, I close my eyes for respite, but the hunger and the fear draw me back to reality... If reality is the right term for this place. There is no release from the dead and hungry city. ...I don't know where the city is exactly, Remedi thought it was a dark insight into the future, where the Eye has run out of flesh to sake his hunger. Fassbender said that this place isn't actually a city, but something so ethereal and evil that the mind rationalises the place into something that reminds us of death and ruination. I believe... I believe we are in Hell, where Pandemonium reigns.' Medici the Vulture
Very soon I will gear up to start the RP in earnest, so if there are any questions to ask. Now is the opportune time.
I recognise that as roleplaying is a group effort, many of you are going to want to put your own individual flair into this game. Something I'm ecstatic about and actively encourage. However, all I ask is that before you introduce a new element into the main game that you post it here first that we can iron out kinks (if there are any) and get a bit of correspondence going. Some new grubbly to come after you? Some building or trap? Please, contribution is the lifeblood of a good rp.
Also, a few hints for the road. Remember! This roleplay pits you against horrible creatures from somewhere beyond your universe. Strength is not the principal gift to be relished. Sure, you might be able to kill a Fleshrender, perhaps ten, perhaps even fifty. But the Eye of Pandemonium can play the game of attrition, and he will win. Yes, The Eye of Pandemonium is stronger than your characters, call it god-moding if you want, he is a god. But that's the point, there is no fun in an Big Bad Boss that you can trump with no effort. To escape the Midnight City, you will need to fight, but brains and concurring your inner demons is the true victory in the land of endless night. You will find a way escape eventually, and perhaps take a swing at the Eye on your way out. Relish this, and have faith in your friends.
Internal monologue is very important in this game. Be sure to focus on the natural fear and paranoia of the place, as well as a healthy skepticism of your team. That said, this is not an excuse for other players to base their actions of anothers internal monologue. This is called meta-gaming, and it is stupid.
Example: X: (Internally) I don't trust Y, I think I'll have to kill him tonight. Y: For no reason, Y decided to stay up all night.
Other than that there is little else, if you want a bit of preliminary, I guess you could start to think about the things that will be taken off you when you arrive. Also, your arrival will be heralded by the sound of church bells ringing throughout the Midnight City. You will be confronted by the cold ground and a new and terrifying sights of the Midnight City.
P.S. For those who haven't. Insert your Virtue or Vice. It is a 'trait', something that has to be quantified, (see above).
(Aha, SuperShadowGal, I knew I'd get ya)

I have no idea whether this'll work. But added Vice to my first character. If I've grasped it's purpose correct that is.

,Jul 16 2012, 09:25 AM]ah, there i fixed the vice/virtue thing. Hope i got it right At first i was a bit confused, but now i see vice and virtue is a bit like 'The seven Deadly sins' and 'The seven Heavenly Virtues' right? Not necessarily, to my understanding. Sure, you could use those too, but like I mentioned before, ANY formative personality trait, positive or negative, can count as a Virtue or Vice, respectively. But it has to be a big part of how your character thinks and acts.

Indeed, there is nothing more repulsive than these monsters that defy nature and are known by the name of witcher, as they are the offspring of foul sorcery and witchcraft. They are unscrupulous scoundrels without conscience and virtue, veritable creatures from hell capable only of taking lives. They have no place amongst decent and honest folk.

Not necessarily, to my understanding. Sure, you could use those too, but like I mentioned before, ANY formative personality trait, positive or negative, can count as a Virtue or Vice, respectively. But it has to be a big part of how your character thinks and acts. This guy... This guy, is a wizard. An absolute gem Please forgive the double-post. This is relatively important.
Now, the RP will be up in a couple of minutes. When it is up, there are a few things you might want to remember. Your character will simply wake up, cold and alone in a wasteland, that alone is unsettling. Compound that with the natural evil that 'oozes' from the place. Your items and gear will be gone. Scattered about the City for later use by The Eye in his games. Other than that, there is no law as to where you will arrive. An old church? A used car dealership? Your call.

I'm only looking for an approval whether the vice aspect is proper enough before I even make an intro.

Yassuh, I'm sure he knows already. It's not wrong to want GM confirmation on something before making the first post.
Also, I don't care if "holdout" gear is "cheating," I'd prefer to err on the side of character concept. Don't worry, he isn't keeping anything "game-changing." I had already listed what got taken away and what got kept.

Dragonflame: I'm not really sure how 'Too strive for the unreachable' will be playable as a vice to be exploited. I'm happy to hear suggestions if you have them. If you think you can, get started.
Prokhor Zakharov: A few weapons can actually be somewhat of a tease from The Eye. I don't see any issue in you having a the knives and a 9mm. I'm not sure what 9mm slugs would do to the beasts of the Midnight City anyway. Just remember that survival is a key aspect of this game and ammo will always be limited.

The rose tinted glasses of nostalgia often hide the stupidity of prior made statements. Nothing brings this revelation about as clearly as revisiting old posts...
