Hydrocity Act 2 Posts: 123 Group: B Rank Adventurer Member #11,368 Joined: September 1, 2010	G'day to all current and aspiring RPers. I'm currently brewing up an Advanced Sonic Roleplay. The theme will be a survival/mystery in which you (not you. Mobian you! The short one!) Has been snatched up and taken to the Midnight City. A dark dimension of ruin and despoliation, ruled over by a malevolent god. To escape you will need to rely on teamwork, resilience and a frakload of weaponry to overcome the machinations of 'The Eye of Pandemonium', a being whose twisted fantasies become living realities in this world of everlasting night. At the moment this is just an expression of interest thread. So post up. Also, I won't bother with a sign-up sheet. Most people have already done their own. You know the stuff you need. On top of that. You will need one more character trait. Either 'Virtue' or 'Vice'. The Eye of Pandemonium plans to twist and corrupt those who visit the Midnight City, by either forcing people to abandon their virtue (For example: forcing otherwise social and friendly people into become paranoid and violent) or embracing their vice (a selfish character stealing everyone's supplies and leaving them for dead in the middle of nowhere.) So, Questions? Queries? Criticism?

	Indeed, there is nothing more repulsive than these monsters that defy nature and are known by the name of witcher, as they are the offspring of foul sorcery and witchcraft. I do have a few questions though; -What is the limit on the number of characters we can have? -Concerning the virtue/vice thing, with this 'Eye of Pandemonium', how are you going to 'force' all that stuff?

I'll definatley be a part of this. I second Blare's questions along with only one of my own. If our character(s) weild a weapon (which my primary choice does), would said weapon(s) be taken away on the count they're snatched up at the beginning? If so, is it likely we'd be able to retreive them later on? Either way, this sounds interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

I never really thought outside the Mobian universe. Ideally, I would like to stick within the boundaries of the Mobian science fantasy that seems to pervade through most of the canons. Humans are OK I guess, Mobians are preferred. I'm not that partial to elves, dragons, orcs and the like. That said, you are in the Midnight City, more than one universal law has been broken there. It really depends on your definition of 'diversity'. What did you have in mind? 2. What is the limit on the number of characters we can have? - Special Operative Blaire The blunt answer is, as many as you feel like you properly control and give equal screen time to. A golden rule might be to start with one and build up as the story progresses though. The method by which The Eye selects his victims will be explained in greater detail later, but at the moment, it suffices to say that it is done in infrequent 'bursts' when others die out or boredom ensues. On the other hand, I'm think, if roleplayed well, multiple characters may be a good idea. There is room for character development, as otherwise friendly characters begin to turn on one another and distrust sneaks in. How many did you want to use, Blaire and Earth Warrior? 3. Concerning the virtue/vice thing, with this 'Eye of Pandemonium', how are you going to 'force' all that stuff? - Special Operative Blaire 'Force' may not have been the most appropriate word. The Eye of Pandemonium corrupts and sews discord in the hearts and minds of people drawn into his domain. On top of this, your characters are likely to be constantly short of food, water and supplies. Under such tense conditions, it does not take long for characters to have their otherwise golden morals strained. On top of this, the geography of the Midnight City, while always taking the form of a twisted wasteland can be rearranged and altered so that tests and traps may be inserted at will. On more overt occasions, the Eye himself whisper into the ears of people. Offering them escape or gifts in exchange for their service. The Virtue or Vice that you choose will not be controlled, per se. It will be the principle aspect of your character that will be tested and tormented by The Eye. As you can probably see, good internal monologue is likely to be required from your characters as a gauge of their disposition. 4. If our character(s) wield a weapon, would said weapon(s) be taken away on the count they're snatched up at the beginning? - Earth Warrior It is most likely that items held dearly to your characters will be removed from them once they are transported into the Midnight City. Most, if not all of them will be able to find later. Sometimes in the middle of the street, other times as overtly laid traps. It will be up to you to decide whether or not you need them so badly. And if your allowed to enter after an extensive period of inactivity, per say, a few weeks. I'll be away for three weeks, but rest assured, if I can use characters from what I refer as a continent north from the actual so called Mobius, then I'm all in? Don't know what I'm referring to, that's completely understandable seen as it's my nerdy project creating a place were my characters originating coming from, but living in Mobius. If you can give me a good answer, I'd be certainly up for a new RP.

I mean, he's a dimension-jumper by nature, but I'll make up whatever explanation needed to prevent it from coming into play. All my other questions concerning this have been since asked and answered, so when this kicks off, I'm well and truly in.

It really interests me. I see KwilZ planning to make it an advanced RP. Though i never participated in one before i can type paragraphs of things if i wish. I look forward to joining, but I'm going to wait a little longer before making my final decision.

So long as you use it responsibly and don't god-mod. The same could be said for any power. DragonFlame: Period of inactivity? Of course, just sign up when you're available and I'll shove you in at some stage. As said before, people keep showing up in the Midnight City all the time and at infrequent intervals. Ok. Despite my previous statement, I think I will make up a signup sheet soon for you to fill out at your discretion. When we have a few players and perhaps a bit of discussion, we can start the nightmare...

As far as weapons what about items and vehicles. I might plan on using my newest character, and he has a skateboard. Will things like that be taken away as well?
