Considering we have a best anime thread, I thought we could have a worst (anime/cartoon/movie/song/show/book) kind of thread. So what things have you seen, or perhaps not fully seen that have made you go, "this is terrible, I'll never watch/listen to it (again)?" Perhaps you friends or a reviewer made you interested, but when you saw whatever it was, it was a big disappointment to you. Worst anime? I'd say that Yu-Gi-Oh (the older one before GX was okay), Naruto, Dragonball GT, and...this one I don't know what to call it. It's from Japan, but it's called Shin-Shan or whatever. Just saying, all those animes make me not want to watch TV. I pretty much switched my taste of anime really quick when I joined here with the help of S_B and Kota. They pretty much changed my interest forever. |

Anime wise, I would have to go with either K-On! or To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. K-On, because nothing really happens in it other than cutesy BS and Railgun because of the whole fanservice lolita crap they had to shoehorn in. To be fair though, I'm really getting sick of loli crap in anime as a whole. Seems like there's a whee bit too much as of late. It's weird, you can make something entertaining without adding waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy underage girls doing things that they probably don't understand to begin with (but somehow do). I dunno about anyone else here, but it's kinda gross. : ( |

I don't like the whole moe/loli thing really that much. I think a lot of more recent animes have pushed the whole super cutesy thing/fan service down peoples throats too much. Suddenly it's just about getting people to have some warm fuzzy moments. As for some of my disappointments anime-wise: I think Kampfer as one. It started with an interesting premise. Females are chosen for red/blue teams and fight to the death sort of thing. The catch this time? A guy has been chosen as a kampfer. It started out alright, then it turned into this fanserivce yuri/harem fest. The plot became lost, becoming more focused on this guy having to deal with buying bras and having all the fellow kampfers want to sex him up. I begrudgingly finished to the end to find the plot never came back, it ended terribly. I didn't really like HOTD either. Just because there was too much fan service which overshadowed a somewhat ok plot. In a way, similar to kampfer for me, they just wanted to drive home too much boobage fest and girls wanting to be with the main guy. One of the problems for me though, might've been this hype everyone was giving it. It was like the anime you had to to watch and it was apparently "such a fantastic plot as long as you could get past the boobs." I don't exactly know how you could when they were everywhere. It seemed like everything was an excuse to flash some T and A. And yes, I know the guy who made it was a hentai artist. I also can't take most of what [Anime] they show on Cartoon Network seriously. I'm talking the Bakugan/Beyblade/Redakai or whatever stuff. I've heard it's because the guy who runs CN right now only wants products that has toys so they can make the $$$. Just, ugh... those shows, I know they're for kids, but the whole thing is silly. I couldn't take beyblade serious as a kid either. I mean... anime about battling tops... uh-wah? |
