If you have the first version, please delete it. I released this version because I accidentally left a test area open. Plus I revised some of the levels again and added a new song. So please download this version instead and leave your rating. I think I might of left out a credit or two... Hopefully I didn't.

The Game.

(IgnoremyrealnameBTW) The link above is the link to a game I had made for my Senior Project a year ago for school. However, I recently decided to tweak and revise it a bit for public play. Sadly, I nerfed the game twice so people actually stand a tiny sliver of a chance at actually beating it, however, I still feel no one can.

It's a basic maze-like game that becomes increasingly harder as you progress, such as adding enemies and causing you to have to think insanely fast. Has about 17-18 levels. You only use the arrow keys to move, but I'm not sure whether it's my keyboard or not that makes the movement choppy and unresponsive at times. PLEASE try it out and share the link in your journals so I can get more feedback. I accept any constructive criticism outside of butchering the concept of the game, which has virtually none. Such as a part of the level being too difficult or etc.

Please try it out and let me know what you think! Don't vote too harshly, vote it as a game itself, not as graphics and etcetc.

Sorry for the bump, but I saw the advertising in your signature and I thought "Yay! A game!".

First impression: Oh great. A Zelda dungeon replica.

Review: But I was wrong! This game is incredibly fun! The difficulty is magnificent, but just a smidge too high. Nothing has challenged me this way in a long time. The irritating laughter of the skulls are what pissed me off and encouraged me to show them who's boss. I only made it to about the 6th level, because the difficulty jumps are way too big. I don't quite like how upon respawning, the movement of the baddies changes. This hurts the fairness of the game. But overall it was a fun game. The music was exciting and memorable and kept me playing. The simplicity of the graphics made it timeless, so that's always a plus. The only really bad thing about this game though is that the controls are sticky, sometimes too slow, sometimes too fast, and break the game's replay value. However, I can not give a thorough review as I could not beat it.

+ simple, fun, player-friendly graphics
+ memorable music
+ challenging
- a bit too challenging
- difficulty jumps
- AI's indecisive spawning
- - - sticky and game-breaking controls
+ + + incredibly fun

So, while the challenge is what makes the game memorable and is also it's major downfall, the game was incredibly fun.

Realistically, there are 4 pros and 4 cons, so the game gets a 5/10. However, gamebreakers and whether the game is fun or not are worth 3 points each, so the game has 6 pros and 6 cons.

The verdict: 5/10, but a very fun game.

Would I recommend this game? Yes. Most definitely. In fact, I'm putting this in my signature. Thank you for the good time. (:
NOTE: I rated the game a 7-9 at the top because it deserves more love. (:

"Hm... That sounds familiar... Wait, that's MINE."

A lot of people said the difficulty was too high so I intend to make a video of all of the original levels and re-make it more easy. I never considered the difficulty because I made it, so of course I can beat it.

The keys were a challenge for me as well because before he moved a block/30x30 at a time. If you released the key too late, it would sometimes snap you back or forward a block so I thought 15x15 might reverse that but it didn't.

I also have the enemies spawn randomly just so I could use some in more stages but that resulted in the AI sometime glitching and making the level impossible to beat. I had to keep going back in and changing the way they spawned to reduce that but if I remake the harder version, I'll keep AI specific to the same level.

The music was just to add a feel of "epic". Maybe I should add some Beethoven to reduce the chances of raging, lol.

But thank you for the honest review, dude. I intend to add a save/level select next time. I don't want to add a life system because that'll ultimately increase the difficulty. But I'll reflect on these once I get back into game making. |B

If possible, make different difficulties and have an option for turning lives on and off. Including the "original" difficulty, where it's as much like the original version as possible. THAT would be entertainment.
