Chaos Emerald

Several female No Datas walked into the lobby. They were coated in a red color, a dark color. Each one had a fairly large key in their hand. The key was silver, yet it sparkled every so often. Each female No Data spoke out different names, pairing them up as they beckoned for the chosen fighters to follow them. "Mika Calvia and Vitas Duncan, please follow me." One of them spoke out. As she spoke, she moved towards the center of lobby while the other No Datas would waited in a circle. As she lead Mika and Vitas to the center of the Lobby, she simply stared at them with her mirror like helmet, reflecting only their appearance as they would look upon her. Soon, a bright light shot down from the very high ceiling. It started to expand and engulf the three of them. The light would be nearly blinding, yet the blindness would only last for a second as they arrived in hallway of some kind. The walls were surging with green and blue digital wires. They were all leading towards one location, an odd looking door. The door was outlined with a glowing light, yet no door nods or handles could be seen. The female No Data walked to the door and inserted the key. The door rippled like water, and proceeded to as she turned the key. A loud unlocking sound was heard, to which the door instantly slid open to reveal their fighting arena... It was a city, or rather what use to be a city. The place was completely destroyed. Actually, destroyed wasn't the world. Demolished would fit better. There was nothing left standing. The building, the vehicles, everything was leveled. As well, a light smoky fog filled the place, as if whatever happened took place recently. Metal poles, foundations of buildings, and a few street signs that aren't even readable any more were all that remained. The air smelled of death and ashes. Everything was black or ash-colored. The only thing that wasn't black, was the moon that shined. The moon was a crystal red color. It gave light to this darkened place, which only revealed the full extent of this disaster. This ruin would continue on for miles and never end. It would continue to stretch on, until you realize you're caught in a loop. Three miles of destroyed buildings that are completely leveled, and then three miles of barely intact roads and streets where only a couple of cars that are nearly melted to nothing can be seen. To add onto this horrid scene, it was very cold. The temper was nearly at zero. And to make matters worse, it was raining. Yet the rain itself was oddly colored. It was a crystal red color, which would normally be mistake for blood. Yet the rain was too clear to be considered blood. As well, the rain itself had a slight chill to it. The moon was apparently making it cool, since the two of them had the same color and all. It was no accident that they did. "Good luck..." The female No Data states, and suddenly the hallway they were in vanished with her in it, leaving Mika and Vitas alone in this place. "Mika Calvia, once you set yourself ten feet away from Vitas Duncan, I'll begin the count down, in which you may start your battle." A female robotic tells them as her voice echoed throughout the city. Once Nikita would get to her spot, she would start the fight. "3... 2... 1... Fight" (You both may start your match, good luck) Edited by L Dragon, May 10 2012, 08:00 PM.

"Yrhuad!" Vitas shouted, almost wildly. He unfolded his large tail, the feathers that made most of it outdoing the colors of the moon and the rain as his feathers were an intense, natural, bloody red. Sure enough, the golden "eyes" that lined these feathers started glowing brightly, releasing psychic energy all around him. I can't, I can't! he thought. This cold is driving me mad! I'm already losing the feeling in my arms! Running away was not normally his way. He liked finishing things quickly. Disorient his enemies, shattering their balance and then grant them a good pummeling with his armored fists. Unfortunately, Vitas Duncan was never one for extreme cold, or heat for that matter. "Efec po udyhucku!" he yelled as he suddenly twirled and fanned his tail with great force, causing a powerful gust, strong enough to thrust him towards the sky. Keeping his tail unfolded, he grabs hold of the feathers as they continue to glow and emit energy, and begins to glide away. "Eluh po ier ul edkad yi!" the peacock shouted as he headed towards one of the wrecked buildings. His tail folds and he dives in through a broken window and enters. "Need warmth, need warmth, need warmth... Oh, where the hell have you gotten yourself now, Vitas?!" he screams to himself as he runs through the building, looking everywhere he passes. "No, no, if this were hell, it'd be just as painful but a lot hotter..." "I have to find warmth quickly; I need to catch my breath, relax myself, not too much physical strain... Tail unfolded! Must keep tail unfolded!" It was always a custom of his to talk to himself. He figured the best conversations can only be had with those that truly understand you and who could understand him better than himself? As his tails fanned out again, it began to g low once more. "I doubt I managed to stick around him long enough to cause much of an effect, if any..." he muttered soon taking to his thoughts. So come at me... Just because I'm weakened, I'm not down. It's still cold, but now I have a roof to keep the freezing rain away! That's an improvement! So feel free to hunt me down and make sure to take a good look at me... Vitas kept mumbling in his mind. Should Mika come after him after all, he would get his chance to use his powers on him, hopefully more effectively. Then again, it was becoming difficult just walking; the cold was taking its effect a lot sooner than Vitas would have hoped for. |

Angel Island Act 2
|
Mika tutted quietly and shifted his head to one side discreetly as he laid eyes upon, and subsequently stared at himself in the reflection given from the No Data's mirror-like form. He hated looking at himself. At what he had become over the last year or so. But at the same time he loved it. The power. The prestige. He had already convinced himself that based on the outcome of this Tournament, that if the Phazon inside of him did not allow him to win, then he would purge himself I it. After all, he would be imperfect. His days of bounty hunting would be at an end along with it. Still. Positive thinking is the key. Well, in theory. Can't help but think someone made that up for a cheap laugh at the expense of everyone, everywhere. Blargh. As he followed the No Data, he tapped a small combination of buttons on a keypad, located under the spikes of his left forearm. Immediately as he hit the suit's equivalent of an "enter" button, a whirring sound began emitting from the neck of his costume. Almost immediately afterwards, a skin-tight metallic armour plating formed around Mika's nose and mouth, reaching all the way to his ears, and a black, thinner armour plating with blue, phazonic-style lining melded itself over Mika's unkempt hair, and then over his eyes to combine with the first section of armour. The only part of Calvia's flesh that was visible were his eyes through the pointed lenses. And that was only until the two golden shades slammed down, rendering them invisible, and only giving a reflection of the outer world. Now that his mask was on and secure in a matter of seconds, Calvia stretched as he moved into the centre of the lobby, along with his opponent. The peacock. I was was expecting something more human, but, y'know, live and learn. Expect the unexpected and all that. Double-blargh. he thought to himself, almost stroking his now metallic chin. Suddenly, a bright, nearly blinding white light shined upon them. Mika cringed, his eyes only slightly protected by the tinted eye-lenses. A few seconds passed and the light left as quickly as it came, except now... they were in an a hallway. One lined with several startling intricities of glowing detail, highlighted by the greens and blues embathing the place in their stationary light. Soon, their door had been located, and their leading No Data opened it, the door disappearing as if in an imaginary whirlpool. And that was shortly followed by the entire hallway vanishing from sight. Oho... technology gets more impressive every second. It's like a holodeck from that... other... sci-fi show... I forget. He decided to take the brief opportunity to examine his surroundings. Well, what was left of them. It looked like a massive war had taken place, and culminated in the dropping of an atomic bomb. It seemed... ominous. It didn't exactly help that it was raining. Not just any ordinary rain either, but red. Almost bloody. Mika also felt the chill of the area amongst his suit. The leather bodysuit offered him good protection against the cold however, which he was thankful for. I don't even want to know where this is based on... He shifted his eyes to his opponent, who in actual fact was unfolding his tail. Mika immediately noticed, much to his own chagrin, what was happening as he saw the emitting glow from the tail. Immediately he put his hands over his eye-lenses as he felt the first spells of dizziness coming on, but shook it off just as fast, as soon as he sensed his opponent legging it as the glow became dimmer. Shortly, he looked out of the corner of his eye to his opponent's new location. One of the abandoned buildings. The glow faded yet again. "Huh." exclaimed Calvia, surprised. "Hit and run, eh? Well, can't say I approve. That said, I'll need to make a new strategy if I have a chance. And I will have to eradicate that tail. Seems like it could be a nuisance for sure." Calvia sprinted towards the building at his brisk, phazonic-enhanced top speed, before leaping like a leaf caught in an updraft through one of the windows. He touched down on the dirty, dusty, rubble-covered floor. The whole building felt rather fragile. One explosion would be able to send it to the ground in mere seconds. And slowly, he rested his left hand on his holstered lightsaber, as he cautiously made his way up the building, looking at every avaliable corridor and area that his opponent could surprise attack him. This was going to be a long fight. |

"I'm deluding myself..." Vitas whispered under his breath. He ran through the halls, his tail lighting the way, but there was nothing for warmth. At least, nothing at first sight. His feet were giving a desperate race, treading the concrete floor were it was stable, leaping over the gaps and holes, avoiding the debris; his eyes peered cautiously through every crack and opening. "All right," he muttered with a nod. He came to an abrupt stop and without wasting a single sweat, he punched it open, denting it in the progress. The peacock stepped inside while brushing his gauntlet on his shirt nonchalantly. "Time to get creative." Vitas pushed and pulled on everything he found- there were some remains that looked as if they belonged to a desk and some chairs, maybe a cabinet. He snapped the leg off a chair with a lot more ease than he expected. "Blah, rotten wood," he sighed. "Ah, this isn't the time to be picky, Duncan. Now how to ignite it... Not much else here... Just more rotten wood, chunks of cement from the ceiling, rebars..." A grin formed in his olive-colored beak as he knocked on the side of his head and joyfully exclaimed, "Kylas, ywem! It's right there! Ah, this cold is just erpuareb with my mind. But you're still surviving, Duncan; come on, the kids are waiting!" The insistent young fowl took a chunk of cement in his hand and brought it o a rebar that was sticking out of the debris. He began rubbing the two together in a swiping manner while keeping the wooden stake close. Please work, please spark, please work, please spark... he kept chanting in his mind. Soon enough, there were sparks. The first few dim, amber flecks landed on the stake and vanished almost immediately. Followed act, however, the next few flecks lasted longer and longer, until the stake began smoking slightly. After a few moments, a small fire began to form and bigger flames grew and gathered. "Yes! Progress!" he cheered. The numbness in his body wasn't going to vanish, but this new torch would help him keep going longer and better. There was also a certain stench emanating from the burning rotten wood, but nothing that would be impossible for him to put up with, even if it was far from being the most pleasant odor to fill his nasal cavities. Things were looking up and for a brief second, he felt overtaken by just a smidgeon more of confidence and hope, but a look at his current surroundings gave him a quick snap back into reality. "This fight is still starting," he reminded himself. "There is so much that can still go wrong, so I have to keep them right." "So tail up, torch ready," Vitas ordered himself, speaking every action as he did it, "and some extra precautions!" With that last bit, he grabbed another wooden stake and managed to pull free a piece of rebar, one of the ends still being attached to a piece of cement. He pinned the stake underneath the arm that carried the lit torch, and he carried the rebar over his shoulder, gripping it tightly. Back to war. |

Angel Island Act 2

Mika grunted. He had spent the past 10 minutes slowly traversing this decrepit excuse for a building. He had vigorously checked every room that he had come across, but to no avail. His opponent was just one step ahead of him. Still, Calvia had the camouflaging sheath of night on his side. His suit, made up of dark colours, blended in efficiently to the overall darkness of the building. After all, the element of surprise was the key to most victories. Hmph. I thought this was going to be a duel. But instead it has turned into a hunt. Well... maybe I should treat Mr. Vitas as an... important bounty. After all, I can't afford to lose this early in the game. thought the Bounty Hunter to himself. He continued to walk down the dampened, ruined hall, the concrete floor unavoidably shaking with every step, much to his displeasure. If his suit weighed anymore, Calvia was certain that one part of it would give like a wooden twig, and send him crashing down to the solid ground below. Eventually, he came across something new in his surroundings. Or at least, unfamiliar. A smell. Sort of like... rotten wood. A new incarnation of a smell that Calvia had been sensing for his tenure in the building... this one was lined with the distinct smells of... Fire. He lit a fire. Presumably to warm himself up... how quaint. And yet understandable. Or at least, that's what I can now gather from when he fled before. Still, easy come, easy go. But where... He could almost sense how close his opponent was. And he kept walking, this time at a brisker pace, while still watching his step. He even thought he could hear shouting coming from one of the rooms, but he couldn't make it out. Please tell me that I'm not going insane... A hunter cannot catch his prey, without his senses primed to their full capacity... |

I'm sure he can't be that much farther, Vitas thought to himself. I mean, I had enough time to lit the fire, get some 'supplies'... And with the smell this thing is giving off... The peacock then stopped for an instance. He raised his torch and looked all around him, illuminating the hall further than his tail already did. OK, so if he's hiding too, he hasn't found me yet... I think? he thought to himself as he lowered the torch, then abruptly stretched his arm away, accidentally dropping the stake in the process. "Ack! With that stench! With that stench, I know you're out there!" he yelled. His tone mixed some frustrated amusement and even a quiver that could just as easily been from fear as it could have been from the cold. He wasn't quite certain which was it himself. "You can smell this from a mile away!" Damn... I dropped the stake... Vitas looked down and noticed the stake fell through an opening in the floor. Who knows how many floors down... Great. Well, so much for hiding. Eh, either way, the fight would have to end; if he didn't find me, I'd have to find him. "Why not tempt Fate? It has a way of riling me up all the time- maybe I'll find you on my way to the stake?" he declared as he walked more along the hallway, the floor feeling oddly shaky... |

Tap. Tap. Tap. The sound of Mika's own footsteps was starting to become deafening. The bounty hunter's face turned into a grimace as the stench continued to grow stronger. I really should have installed an oxygen filter into this mask. So many uses, it would have. Suddenly, a strange image flew down in front of Mika, straight down a few openings in the floor. ...The hell was that? It looked sort of like a stake, but he wasn't entirely sure... it had just moved too fast. "Ack! With that stench! With that stench, I know you're out there!" came a voice from above. It seemed both frustrated... and fearful. "You can smell this from a mile away!" Aha. Big mistake, pal. Very big mistake. thought Calvia to himself, a large, almost demonic grin forming beneath the skin-tight armour plating of the mask. The bounty hunter sprang into action. Using his own senses, he pinpointed the direction of his nemesis. Ever-so-carefully... it was fortunate that he seemed to have gone insane. "Why not tempt Fate? It has a way of riling me up all the time- maybe I'll find you on my way to the stake?" came the voice once more. It seemed... just a little bit to the south of Mika's current position. Gotcha. Not one to stall, he immediately targeted a lumpy looking section of the ceiling with his eyes, as he slowly raised his arms. Meeting you in this way is an unexpected bonus, my friend. Suddenly, he clenched his hands into fists, and tilted them downwards. As if on cue, two ice-blue streams of phazonic energy shot forward, straight towards the area, of which he predicted the peacock was standing right now. The phazonic grapple. Instead of pulling himself up, as was the device's normal function... he pulled the crumbling ceiling down towards him, with all of his strength. Hopefully, when he finished pulling and making an even bigger hole in the above floor, his foe would finally face him. And the bounty hunter would be ready to reap the rewards of the kill.
