E3 2012

Welp, with E3 little over a month away, I thought I should make a topic(Like I do every year) and let the speculation begin. For those who don't know, E3 is pretty much one of the biggest video game conventions in United States(Maybe the world? Probably) where all the newest and biggest games are revealed with many surprises and announcements. Also where the big three console developers themselves(Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft) duke it out, thus it's definitely the most anticipated gaming event to watch in my book.

Just like past topics, discuss what you're most looking forward to, things you hope you'll be announced, very anticipated games, et cetera, until the announcement days are here themselves.

There could be a better list then the link I posted, not sure. Will change if somebody finds one.

Anyway, discuss!

Personally, I'm looking forward for all the Nintendo announcements, which will probably not be a surprise for those who know me. They already confirmed they will "re-show" the Wii U, since last year's was pretty confusing apparently, which I don't mind(Hoping for a name change as well). The launch lineup I expect to be much better, as they said they learned a bitter lesson from the 3DS, and they confirmed that they do plan for the system to focus back on hardcore games first, so this is definitely music to my ears. While I do like and love tons of games on the Wii, part of my GameStop is pretty much a graveyard for crappy casual games. Hopefully we'll get some cool new announcements as well as some release dates for those games like Paper Mario, Animal Crossing, etc.

Aside from Nintendo though, looking forward to seeing what Sony debuts, such as more details for games like Sly 4. Also more details and announcements from my favorite developers such as Square or Atlas, and many others. Such as info on Kingdom Heart 3D(and details on this new KH apparently), Final Fantasy, and more.

Maybe this will be the year a FFVII remake will be announced. *shot multiple times*

EDIT: Here's a game list with known games going to be there. Probably more as we get closer, with tons more revealed at the event.

I have to say that I have been looking forward to this years E3 more so then any other.
For one nearly everything about the Wii U will be revealed so we can finally put an end to all these rumours going around.
And two hopefully Capcom will say that the are bringing Monster Hunter Tri G to the west.

Actually E3 is not the biggest gaming convention in the United States.. in media coverage maybe since it is mostly media exclusive at this time, but the convention that draws in the biggest crowds is the one in Seattle, PAX Prime.. and now there are two PAX conventions (the other being EAST in Boston) so if Prime alone brings in more people than E3, East must help PAX completely steamroll E3, and it still gets good media coverage on G4 and tech networks, hell I've taken pictures with Adam Sessler a couple years ago and I saw G4 people everywhere. xD

That being said I don't know what to look forward to at E3 but If I had to pick games I'm anticipating the most.. Halo 4 and Dead or Alive 5 are easily my top 1-2 punch at this time.

Also I would love to have another Monster Hunter game in America.. only this time not only on the PSP or a Nintendo Console, I mean seriously......

(likes not being strictly biased in favor of Japanese consoles for whatever reason some people seem to be)

Monster Hunter was fun, I'd play it on the PSP with my friends around here or over the internet using X-Link Kai. I don't have a PSP anymore but those were some good times.

I still remember doing my first party fight against the Tigrex.... buh. xD

And the Khezu was always so annoying.

Monster Hunter is on the Xbox in Japan so I don't see what the problem is with making that happen here.. hell I wouldn't care if it was on the PS3 but it is ALREADY on the Xbox. XC

Well, Technically there is a PS3 version, but its just a HD version of the PSP game Portable 3rd.
So a PS3 game could be likely but I doubt an unscaled PSP game would sell very well over here.

And PAX put their tickets on sale, despite me watching like a hawk since they botched the original registration, and they re-opened the one time I wasn't able to conveniently check.. 3 day tickets gone in no time flat...

So I buy my one day pass knowing I was robbed of the opportunity to get my 3 day on Thursday and I get to be pissed.. awesome.

Another year of scalpers on every corner.

I'm mainly looking forward to what Nintendo will show. I expect that we'll see more details on Luigi's Mansion, Paper Mario, Animal Crossing, and New Super Mario Bros. No, not the old New Super Mario Bros or its sequel, the new New Super Mario Bros, which will be the sequel to the sequel. Or will it be a sequel to the original, since it has the number 2 instead of 3?

Speaking of the number 3, I've heard rumors that Nintendo will reveal details on Pikmin 3. There have been similar rumors of this for several past E3s, but I think the chance of this happening are more likely than ever, since Pikmin 3 was in development for Wii before being moved to WiiU. Maybe it could be a launch title. Maybe I'll also win the lottery.

While I'm in Dreamland, (segue city over here, folks!) there's a fair chance details of Kirby's 25 Anniversary collection thing will be revealed.

Some 1st party WiiU launch titles will probably be shown also.

And before someone mentions their hopes for this, it's next to impossible that we'll see anything relate to Smash Bros 4. Sakurai, the games lead developer, has staed that work would not begin on the game until Kid Icarus: Uprising was complete. Considering the game was just released no more than 2 months ago, the game is most likely still in the conceptual stage.

My! That's a pretty snazzy performance there!
Lawl.

Nintendo- I do not know how they are going to top last year's conference but I see Nintendo not being the winner this year. As much as I love them, believe that they are going to showcast stuff we already know with some hidden extras. The surprise I am waiting for is a new Metroid title, mainly Metroid 5, maybe for the 3DS. They are going to be heavy on 3DS and their line-up, like Paper Mario 3D, Luigi Mansion 2, and more. The Wii U will be "unveiled", most likely with the release name. Another surprise is if they showcast a big name franchise on the Wii U, like Mario or maybe even past rememberances? *coughIceClimberscough* And do not forgot Super Smash Bros 4!

Microsoft- Winner of it all. Yes, Halo 4. Ok, Dead or Alive 5. They are going to premier the Xbox 720 there and to be honest, it is going to have a lot of important franchise lined up in it. I expect a lot of surprises this year from them.

Sony- PS4 and Vita. That is pretty much it. I would not be surprised if they steal the show, but I do not see nothing that we have not. Only thing I am thinking of is that "new" Metal Gear game.

While I haven't really paid much attention as of recently to games for the most part... I am looking forward to a few things at E3. They are: Halo 4, a possible Metroid title, Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm, X-COM: UFO Defense, Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium, maybe the announcement of a new Dead Space game. And of course, probably some fresh new franchises as well would be nice.

To be honest I completely forgot about this game until recently when they announced it was no longer going to be a MMO.

Yeah, I did forget about it for a time. Now that it's no longer an MMO. Perhaps they will make it like a 'KOTOR-style' roleplay.

Yea I did read on that. I do not know, I feel that either that they are lying or that they have something in big secret. I feel it might be the biggest E3 this year. ^.^
