I want to ask the silly question. Why? The Doom series, maybe Doom 3, are my favorite first person shooters of all time. They're also quite possibly three of a few first person shooter games I'll actually consider original and fun to play. Why come there's no Doom/Ultimate Doom or Doom II on the PSN? I know, I know. "Hey Snow Toilet, you fudge load of SPAM, you can buy it for PSX/Saturn! So quit your bitching!" Here's my problem with the Saturn version. No Arch-vile. Ugh!!! I don't want to buy a 360 because I don't support it. I have my reasons. I also don't want to re-buy an Xbox and Doom 3 just so I can have fun. There's also no way I'm doing a PC play because that's just sickening. Your thoughts????? Edited by snow toilet, May 1 2012, 10:40 AM.

No idea on why it isn't on the PSN but chances are if it isn't yet it wont be for awhile. iD was bought by Bethesda after those games got onto XBL so I'm just assuming there is something up with iDs new parent company that stops the games from getting on there. Also I'm assuming you're miffed at the Xbox because you were unlucky and got the RROD, for something that was so "widespread" neither me or any of my friends ever got it but it isn't a system issue anymore at all. Even the PS3 fixed it's little yellow light of death that at its peak hit a good chunk of its consoles, though I never experienced that either. If we were talking about a year or so ago I would think that Doom could make it on the PSN for the PS3 but with talks of new hardware in the preliminary, I don't see Sony making a push to get it on the network that fast if ever. If they do they may likely just wait for the PS4 release to be over first. |

Not really. Trying to play Final Doom back in 2004 was a pain to me. Although I never did play with any kind of control pad. The other major thing is the fact that I prefer console versions mainly because I can play it on an HD television. And no me being miffed? has nothing to do with a Red Ring of Death. I don't care much for American made technology. I literally passed off my old Xbox because of that reason. |
