Brandon was sweating so bad that his eyes were blazing. He could barely even see. At least that helped him with the fact that he was nervous and anxious. It was his third variety show he attended. Eighth grade was a piece of cake. So was his Freshman year, but his Sophomore year...it wasn't the people that he was nervous about, it was the fact that people not from his school, but from other schools, record companies, and people who doesn't even attend school anymore that came to see what the ruckus was. Before, he was only to do one song because of his anxiety issues and short temper, but he told the Principal and his doctor he was going to challenge himself. Three songs. He was going to be the last talent to perform so he wouldn't waste the other people's time. He looked at John, Jullian, and Raymond plugging their guitars to the amplifiers. Brandon already had his plugged in. Brandon was the guitar and lead vocals. John was the guitar and back-up vocals. Jullian was the lead guitarist. Raymond was the bassist. Last, but not least, William was the drummer. Brandon looked at Will. He was waiting for the signal. The drumsticks clashed three times and they began to play a song that would start their introduction for their talent. It was Breaking Benjamin's hit song, "Breath." Brandon was introduced to this amazing band by John who was the first person he met. After the guitar riff was over. He gave it his best shot. "I see nothing in your eyes... And the more I see the less I like Is it over yet, In my head?!! I know nothing of your kind... And I won't reveal your evil mind Is it over yet? I can't win!!" He sang both verses in perfect tone. He always strained when he had to yell. It was a habit he had, but he still manages to nail them. He began to sing the wonderful pre-chorus and chorus of the song. "So sacrifice yourself And let me have what's left I know that I can find The fire in your eyes I'm going, all the way!! Get away, please... You take the breath right out of me!! You left a hole where my heart should be You got to fight just to make it through 'Cause I will be the death of you..." Such wonderful lyrics that really had no meaning. The meaning of the lyrics is whatever the listener wants it to be. During the chorus, he noticed a stranger in the crowd. He rarely sees any canines in the school, but he has his eye caught on her like a spider's prey. Gleaming red hair, mahogany fur color, and golden brown eyes. To top it all, she was a German Shepard. Brandon still made sure he looked at the crowd, but when he had a chance, he would look at her beautiful face. He smiled unintentionally because he couldn't resist it. She somehow cheered him up. But, he had to keep emotion with the song, so he focused on his depression to keep the song going. He was close to the cota of the song. He wanted to impress this lovely looking female, and he thinks that an echoing scream would do the shot. "I'm waiting I'm praying Re-a-lize Start hating!!!" He yelled as he began to sing the chorus again. The crowd screamed as he was about to finish the song. They loved him. Priscilla noticed that Brandon was looking at the same place for over twenty times. She grew curious. She looked to her left to see that he was staring at Lidiya. She grew wide eyed. Priscilla calls her self "The Scanner." She thinks she can spot bad news, just because of how they look and because of the fact that Lidiya looked attractive, she was going to be a bad influence for Brandon. Brandon finished the song and took a large breath. He looked at Lidiya to see how impressed she was. |

Lidiya whimpered cheerfully at the taste of the banana bread she was eating. Her friends Amillia and Angel watched her quizzically as she ate the bread quickly. "Are you gonna eat all day or are we gonna go watch the last band perform?" Angel asked impatiently. "Yeah, they're starting Lidiya!" Amillia added jumping up and down pointing to the stage. "Alright, Aright, I'm coming." Lidiya said as she cleaned her muzzle with her tongue. The three jumped up and pushed their way through the crowd of people, losing each other along the way paying more attention to the band than one another. Lidiya got about as close as she could and watched the band with a smile on her face. Nodding her head to the rhythm of the song. She stared at the lead vocalist with shining eyes, listening to every lyric, every note he played. She clapped her hands and cheered loudly as they finished, a smile on her face as big as it can be. She didn't seem bothered by the crowds constant shoving and movement, guess it was just the rush of the excitement of it all. Out of nowhere Amillia appeared setting her hand on Lidiya's shoulder and shouted to her,"Weren't they amazing?!". Lidiya nodded to Amillia barely hearing what she was saying. Amillia was just rambling on about how great the band was not even caring if she was heard or not as they began to wade their way through the crowed. Lidiya gave a last glance to the wolf that stood on stage and turned away with a last smile. |

The guitar strings were still vibrating and Brandon did hear someone in the crowd scream "I love you!" Brandon gave one last look at Lidiya and then, began the song, "Dance with the Devil." "Here I stand, Helpless and left for dead..." He sang the intro as Jullian and John slid the strings and began. Brandon followed and began to sing the first verse. In shock, his eyes turned blue with a black outer eye. "Close your eyes So many days go by Easy to find what's wrong Harder to find what's right I believe in you! I can show you that I can see right through All your empty lies I won't stay long In this world so wrong!! Say goodbye As we dance with the devil tonight Don't you dare look at him in the eye! As we dance with the devil tonight...!" He sang the first verse, prechorus, and chorus with emotion, but almost ran out of breath at the last line. He payed more attention to Lidiya than the last song. She seemed happy and was smiling, but he could tell that she hid the smile at the end of "Breath." Amillia jumped up and down at the band playing another song. Lidiya flinched and laughed as Amillia screamed in her ear. They both cheered on the wolf as he performed."Good looking and can sing." Lidiya said staring at the wolf. "Did you say something?" Amillia asked pointing to her ears. Lidiya shook her head no and looked back at the wolf a little embarrassed. As she looked at him she noticed the color of his eyes."They weren't like that before..." she thought to herself. She looked at Amillia to see if she had seen it to but it seemed that Amillia was hardly paying attention to the wolf alone. Lidiya looked back at the band and watched them as they performed. |

Brandon began to sing the next verse. This time, looking at Priscilla. She did not look amused, but he did not care. "Trembling Crawling across my skin Feeling your cold, dead eyes Stealing the life of mine..." He sang the pre-chorus and chorus again and turned his eyes to Lidiya. His eyes weren't just blue anymore. The outer, white part of his eye was turning black. Showing a sign of adrenaline. The crowd was screaming and CEO's of record companies were fighting with each other of who should have him. Brandon didn't understand record companies because this wasn't even his music he was playing. Priscilla left the crowd and waited in the hall next to the auditorium. Scorch was at the back of the stage enjoying the music Brandon was playing. "Hold on," Brandon yelled and then, again he yelled, but that time, in a high pitch. He began the interlude with a guitar solo along with the two other guitarists. Will was sweating from how fast he was moving with the drumsticks. Brandon sang the chorus again and then, ended the song with a whisper, "goodbye." The guitars stopped and Brandon was ready for the last song. |

The crowd went crazy at Brandon's guitar solo. It was amazing. Girls were screaming and calling his name. "Brandon huh?" Lidiya thought to herself. She began to smile again and joined in at cheering for the wolf, shouting his name as the others did."You rock, Brandon!" Amillia screamed out beside Lidiya. Lidiya laughed and joined in with her friend."Yeah what she said!" she added. |

Brandon smiled at the two. He adjusted his microphone up a little more. "I don't know guys, you want one MORE?!!" He yelled the question and the crowd screamed with joy. He wanted his last song to be somewhat unique. He was thinking about a song from Breaking Benjamin's newest album, Dear Agony. He thought long and hard. He wanted a song that could be specifically for Lidiya. He looked at his band. They knew how to do all songs both from Phobia and Dear Agony. He then, made his choice. |

"Wow, their gonna do one more song!" Lidiyah screeched happily, she and Amillia jumped up and down like kids and were screaming at each other. Angel came out of no where and put her arms around both of their shoulders. "You guys sticking around for the last song?" she asked exchanging glances from one to the other. "Uh, yeaah..." Lidiyah replied loudly."Duh, they rock and I wanna hear this last one." Amillia added. "Look they are about to start." Lidiya said pointing back to the band. |

Brandon looked at his band. "Without You," Brandon said as he turned to the crowd. Destiny was called up to play the violin along with her trio. They began to play with a short introduction to the song... "Search for the answers I knew all along I lost myself, we all fall down Never the wiser of what I've become Alone I stand, a broken man All I have, is one last chance I won't turn my back on you Take my hand, drag me down If you fall then I will too And I can't save what's left of you... Sing something new!! I have nothing left... I can't face the dark without you!! There's nothing left to lose! The fight never ends I can't face the dark without you!!" He sang the three parts perfectly without a strain in his vocals. He wanted to make this message clear to Lidiya that he believes in love at first sight. "Swallow me under and pull me apart I understand, there's nothing left Pain so familiar and close to the heart No more no less, I won't forget Come back down, save yourself I can't find my way to you And I can't bare to face the truth." He sang the chorus right after and the crowd was screaming. Jullian wasn't good at playing high-pitched notes, but he tried his best. The drummer was sweating. Brandon's eye was pale blue. He took this song very emotionally. He sang the interlude and chorus. He now began to sing the cota... "Holding the hand that holds me down... I forgive you, forget you, the end! Holding the hand that holds me down... I forgive you, forget you, the end!!" He stopped singing and Destiny, along with her trio, played the ending on their violin, viola, and cello. The crowd became silent as Brandon, the first time in his life, the first time at school, and the first time in a concert, shed a river of tears down his cheek. John looked to his left and was shocked. Brandon didn't seem emotional to him. He kind of thought Brandon was emotionless. Brandon was trying to give the message through the song to Lidiya that he's lived a hard life and he's trying to forget all of it. The stringed trio ended with a high pitch, beautiful noise coming from Destiny. It grew silent and the crowd cheered. Brandon looked up. He didn't even say goodbye. He just walked off the stage. The band were cleaning up. |

As Brandon sang the song Lidiya felt a rush of wind hit her and her alone in an area of black. To her she was the only one in the audience listening to Brandon sing. An array of emotion swept over Lidiya but they weren't her own. Were they....Brandon's? As Brandon ended the song Lidiya snapped back into reality and seen as he cried. He said nothing else but walked away off stage. "Did you guys hear that?" Lidiya asked her friends still staring at the stage. "Yeah, wasn't it beautiful?" Amillia said in a soft voice. "Aw, and did you see him cry? So sad." Angel added sympathetically. "No, that's not what I mean...." Lidiya said shaking her head. "What are you talking about?" Amillia said confused. "His lyrics...It's like he was singing them but, saying something to." Lidiya confessed. Angel and Amillia exchanged glances then looked back at Lidiya. "Maybe you need to stay away from the banana bread, hun." Angel advised with a smirk. Lidiya looked at both girls and then smiled."Never mind! It's nothing!" she shouted happily." Lets just get something to eat, watching you eat and all this cheering made me hungry." Amillia complained jokingly. Lidiya took one last look at the stage before following her friends in search of a bite to eat. |

Brandon was at the halls with his band. The audience cannot leave until he does because of safety precautions. He got into his mobile that ran new, but had an old, smooth, shiny body kit. Almost looking like an old, red Chevy Camaro. He got in and drove down the street to the small diner that his band met every time they get out of school. He got out and waited for the others to come. John was first to make it. "Yo, what was wrong wit' you at stage?" he asked. "That's a question that I won't answer..." Brandon replies. The others made it and they sat at the far corner, where no passing people could see them. A waiter came to Brandon's table. The waiter had a familiar face. "Hey, Brandon," Gizmo said. "What's up, and you know what we want..." he says. Gizmo nodded and walked away without an answer. Brandon took a peek out of the window to see anymore familiar faces. |

"Oh, right there!" Amillia shouted out the window pointing to a small diner across the way. Angel made her way into the parking lot with her burgundy Saturn and parked it at least two spaces away from a red Chevy Camaro. Lidiya got out of the back seat and slid her finger along the line of the Saturn as she walked towards the diner. "You better not scratch my car." Amillia joked towards Lidiya. Lidiya stuck out her tongue and ducked as Angel threw Amillia back her car keys. The three girls walked into the diner still laughing as Amillia rambled on about an old boyfriend or something in a joking manner while sitting at the third table from the door. "I wonder if they have banana bread..." Lidiya said looking at the menu. "You and your banana bread obsession..." Angel teased. |

Brandon saw Lidiya and her friends. "Holy hotness..." Jullian said as he saw the three. "Shut it, kid," Brandon said to Jullian. Gizmo handed them their meals and drinks. Brandon takes a small sip at his drink as he looked at Lidiya. Every time she would look at him, he would look back pretending nothing happened. John fiddled with his switch blade. Brandon told him to put it away and so John did. Brandon saw how Ray and Will noticed his actions. He didn't say anything. He took a bite of his Italian Sub. Gizmo went to the girls. His bushy tail twitching from brushing up against the diner counter. "Hello, ladies. How was your day?" he asked as he took out a sheet. "May I take your orders?" he asked as he gave a small, happy look at Amillia. |

Amilia looked at Gizmo and smiled back, "We're just gonna share a family sized chili cheese fries meal" Amillia ordered and looked at the girls for agreement.They both nodded. "Oh, do you guys sell banana bread also? 'Cuz I want banana bread to." Lidiya said twitching her ears happily. "Water for me please" Angel ordered. "Oh yeah, Strawberry soda for me please." Amillia added. "I'd like a vanilla shake." Lidiya put in before she forgot. Angel scanned the room and noticed Brandon and his band."Hey, look guys it's the band from before. Amillia and Lidiya leaned over to see. "You're right, think they come here often?" Lidiya said looking at Brandon then back at her friends. "Probably." Angel replied. |

Gizmo wrote so fast that his hand was steaming a tiny bit. "Okay, we'll have your order in three minutes..." Gizmo said. He went into the small kitchen and yelling out the orders. Will looked at Brandon. "You should talk to her..." he said. "What'd'ya mean?" Brandon replied with a question. "Don't play that game with me, you should talk to her. That gal Lidiya seems very attractive. Besides, when I'm beating the drums, I look at my audience and I saw hearts floating from her body..." Will said. "I can't-" "What do you mean you can't? You talk to girls all the time!" Will said, interrupting Brandon. "That's because they come to me, not me coming to them..." Brandon said. Will nodded. He got up. "What are you doing?" Brandon growled. "Aah, nothing, messing with the jukebox..." Will lied as he walked away. Brandon already knew what was happening and he put his head down. He felt ashamed at himself for being too shy. Will arrived at the girls' table. "Hey, girls, how's your day?" Will said as he rested his leaned against the side of the booth, in which the girls were sitting at. He was a German Pinscher with alluring golden-yellow eyes. He seemed well taken care of and he had a tattoo on his wrist of a Three Days Grace One-X symbol. He wore cargo shorts without a T-shirt and black and white striped sneakers. |
